Clearly, none of you actually read any theology...😂

In those texts, we're supposedly the "lesser" ones—the sinners, the wicked, the outcasts according to certain religious definitions...😂
but apparently, the truly insufferable, elitist jerks are the moderators...
I mean, just the other day I got a DM... from some narrow-minded sexist who clearly needs to face some consequences
only to realize... it was from a woman! 😁
Where did my thread in Religion go? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Erased, because it served its purpose.
By publicly thanking me for the links, you basically signaled to the moderator that you got what you needed.
And just because you say you'll give it some time... that doesn't mean a one-off thread like this is guaranteed to stick around.
Besides, why even bother asking here...
instead of just sending a private message to a Religion moderator or heading over to the dedicated Q&A thread?
I'll send those links over via DM.
Hate speech and inflammatory rhetoric in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Sorry Basta!
Even as a Christian myself, I don't see any evidence of widespread hate speech targeting Christians on a global scale here.
The real question we should be asking—is this driven by pure fanaticism, or is it simply a mental health issue? Is it fueled by this reckless zealotry and a complete misinterpretation of Christian doctrine that led to such a malicious act?

Personally, I don’t see why anyone would criticize this—there are incredibly sophisticated tools out there that analyze the frequency of certain letters in posts (mostly things like "f's," "t's," and "s's"), the specific force with which a user strikes their keyboard, and even the correlation between posting times and the position of Saturn relative to Pluto's house.

Once that analysis is complete, you just take a coin from $1.75 and flip it on the floor. If it lands on tails, people just shout "Unknown" and issue the ban.

Death/End of life discussion in Spirituality ·
Death itself isn't actually the issue here.
We’ve basically turned an inevitable reality into some kind of boogeyman!
Some people refuse to even acknowledge their own mortality—while others are absolutely paralyzed by it.
But those who have actually stared into the abyss—those who've experienced clinical death—they come back with a completely different perspective on the end of this earthly journey.
It is honestly mind-boggling how much of our limited time on this planet we squander..
focusing on trivialities instead of soaking up the genuine beauty surrounding us...
the simple joys found in small moments,
the pure bliss of just existing,
or simply being grateful for the chance to be here at all...
Instead, we waste precious hours on hatred, resentment, petty competition, sabotaging our neighbors, and feeding our bloated egos through sheer triviality.
We should be living in Calm, finding harmony within ourselves and with every other living thing on this planet.
That’s why some people are so utterly blindsided when the end finally arrives—because they failed to realize, in time, that life and death are just two sides of the exact same coin.

Why are atheism and agnosticism in the Religion PDF? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Roger Barrett2 said:What exactly are atheism and agnosticism doing in a PDF titled Religion?

This PDF—titled "Religion: Institutional Belief as a Core Theme"—covers atheism and agnosticism. But honestly, why on earth is it titled "Religion" and then tacked on with "institutional belief"? It feels completely off-base.

As for the whole debate surrounding the etymology of *religare*—honestly, I think we're just spinning our wheels here. There's really no point in even discussing it.

Siniša Zrinščak, What exactly is religion, and more importantly—what is its actual function? If we look at this through a sociological lens, we can move past the typical debates about faith and focus on how it actually operates within a society. Is it just a collection of shared myths? Or is it the very glue that keeps a community from falling apart? When you strip away the theology, you’re left with a complex system of symbols, rituals, and social structures that define how people relate to one another—and to the divine. From a sociological standpoint, religion isn't just about what people believe in their hearts; it's about how those beliefs manifest in their behavior and how they reinforce social cohesion. Does it provide a moral compass for the masses, or does it serve as a tool for maintaining the status quo? It’s a question worth digging into—not just as a matter of personal belief, but as a fundamental driver of human organization. It presents two distinct definitions of religion:

Of course, you’ll get different answers depending on which researcher you ask—that’s just how this works—but the most obvious path involves a substantive definition: the belief in a supernatural being and that specific sense of power and strength tied to it. This feeling of potency is inextricably linked to the concept of the sacred—that which stands in direct opposition to the profane. Therefore, believing in the sacred, or maintaining a distinct relationship with sacred objects, becomes the core pillar of any substantive definition. Because this approach aims for such surgical precision, its scope naturally expands to include institutions, rituals, beliefs, language, and symbols. It seems to strike at the very heart of what makes something religious, specifically through that concept of the sacred—the thing that draws a hard line between the religious experience and the mundane, separating the otherworldly from our everyday reality (p. 26).

Once again—if you dig through the literature—you'll find a massive variety of functionalist definitions out there. But here’s the catch: almost none of them actually touch on the creation of meaning or identity. For these theorists, the specific content of what people believe or how they practice their faith is secondary. What actually matters is the fallout—the actual impact religion has on the individual and society at large. We're talking about providing a framework to make sense of natural or social phenomena, creating a cohesive sense of purpose in life, or finding ways to transcend our basic biological limitations (p. 27).

Take a look at these next two links: Is there actually any logical basis for religious belief? If you dive into the FAQ section over at Atheism.com, you’ll find a pretty intense breakdown of the arguments surrounding faith and reason. It’s one of those deep dives that forces you to stop and think—really think—about whether we're clinging to ancient traditions out of habit or if there's some actual substance behind the claims. The core question remains: can faith ever truly stand up to rigorous scrutiny? Some argue that the existence of God is a matter of personal experience, while others—more skeptics, I suppose—insist that without empirical evidence, it all just falls apart. Is it enough to simply believe because it provides comfort? Or does that make the entire structure of religion inherently flawed from a logical standpoint? It's a debate as old as humanity itself, but reading through these perspectives makes you realize how much the conversation has shifted toward demanding more than just "because I said so." Does anyone actually have a rebuttal that doesn't rely on circular reasoning? It's worth looking into if you want to test your own convictions against some serious pushback.
i
What exactly counts as "religion"? It’s a question that gets tossed around constantly—usually by people trying to draw arbitrary lines in the sand—but we rarely stop to actually define our terms before we start fighting about them. If you look at how most scholars approach the definition, it isn't just one simple thing. Is it a set of beliefs? A collection of rituals? A shared moral code? Or is it that deep, internal sense of connection to something greater than oneself? Depending on who you ask, you can make almost anything fit the description if you stretch the definition far enough. The problem is that when we use the word loosely, the entire debate loses its teeth. If we define religion too broadly, then everything from a die-hard sports fandom to a strict adherence to a diet becomes a "religion." But if we define it too narrowly—focusing only on organized institutions or specific deities—we miss the underlying psychological and social structures that drive human behavior. So, where do we draw the line? Are we talking about the institutionalized stuff—the cathedrals, the hierarchies, the official dogmas—or are we talking about the raw, fundamental impulse to find meaning in the chaos? Without a clear, rigorous definition, any argument about atheism versus faith is basically just people shouting different definitions at each other in the dark.

You’re going to see that atheism simply doesn't fit the definition of religion—it just doesn't. It lacks the fundamental components required to be categorized that way. Therefore, my proposal is... Can we please just change the PDF filename? Or maybe we should just strip atheism and agnosticism off this PDF entirely—since they don't even belong under the umbrella of Religion, let alone institutional belief?

If this thread doesn't belong under Religion, then move it over to PŽK.

We've already covered the definitions—religion, religiosity, atheism, and all that good stuff—in previous threads.

Changing the title of a PDF regarding religion isn't within the moderator's jurisdiction.
That’s why I’m moving this discussion over to the PŽK—where the people actually in charge can weigh in on your proposal.

So, you’re basically demanding specific answers.
Look, nobody can just snap their fingers and give a flat "yes" or "no"—because let's be honest, who can say with absolute certainty under what exact circumstances they would or wouldn't kill someone? It's impossible to provide an answer that's actually sincere (or even remotely truthful).
We're starving for a miracle... in Spirituality ·
The way this topic and these questions are framed—it honestly crosses a line into religious territory.
Positive thinking and believing in miracles = miracles, right?
But just like you pointed out, that doesn't mean we're strictly limited to a religious framework where miracles only happen because of God's will or as some divine sign from God.
In my opinion, the way this PDF is set up puts the subject in a corner—it's far too narrow and limits how much people can actually respond.

I’d highly recommend revisiting that specific post if you've somehow missed what’s actually going on... then you can see for whether this is unnecessary targeting or not. (Especially since the participants in that thread received PMs with the exact same content, making it obvious that the post had an entirely different motive and purpose, completely unrelated to the topic at hand.)

And look, you don't have to agree with me—of course you don't—because, as we can clearly see, you selectively delete posts on the top 'Christianity' thread (on-topic posts vanish without any valid reason) and you delete things just for the sake of it, disrupting the flow of discussion and stifling further debate instead of encouraging it.

(Your communication style and tone only reinforce this constant need to emphasize that you are 'Christian' rather than 'Muslim'—as if that matters, or as if anyone is questioning it or even asking. 🤣)

I have no intention of debating with you further (regarding this or any future requests)—as far as I'm concerned, our communication ends here, both for now and for the future.

And for the record, (my) deleted posts truly don't belong there.

Thanks and best regards to everyone.

Since you're continuing with your own little interpretations and spin—especially when you publicly label me a Muslim in a derogatory way with the clear intent to insult (and let's be clear, it wasn't *you* who did it, because you'd probably find a way to twist that too...)—not to mention the private messages where I'm called a Muslim [slur] (I won't even list those other terms here), it stands to reason that I publicly clarified and emphasized that I am Christian... So, what bothers you about that? Or by what logic do you feel the need to monitor my religious beliefs? It’s incredibly forgetful of you to ignore the fact that I also pointed out that my religious identity is irrelevant to my decisions as a mod, which is quite evident from the comments...😉
But apparently, it would be very convenient for you if I weren't Christian, so you could use your "tried and true" modus operandi to accuse me of persecuting Christians based on religious intolerance...
Sorry to disappoint you...🤣

So, what happens now?
Are we introducing forum-wide censorship against moderators? Are they not allowed to speak as forum members, let alone express their opinions or speak from their religious viewpoints?
Should this censorship extend to former moderators simply because they held a position? Or perhaps just because they don't agree with you?
That post stays right where it is (only an admin can decide to move it), because it is a request and an explanation for why I am stepping away from further discussion, specifically due to your posts.
Re: Religion thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You already received my answer, and I have zero intention of repeating myself.
Please stop building these elaborate theories and explanations based on cherry-picked snippets from my posts.
If you’re going to quote me, then have the decency to present the full context.

As for your question regarding that reported post where you claim to have been personally insulted—you're looking at this through a very narrow lens. Even if I were the only moderator on this board, I don't have to agree with your personal interpretation of what constitutes an insult or how "offended" you feel.
crimsonhound80 said:I was thinking the exact same thing.
You mean you're already starting off on the wrong foot—it’s basically decided from the get-go, isn't it? You’re just assuming—I mean, you’re really out here just making assumptions without any actual proof, aren't you? It’s funny, I guess, how people jump to conclusions like that—it's almost impressive, in a misguided sort of way—but honestly, it's just plain wrong. You can't just decide something is true because it fits your narrative, you know? It doesn't work that way. Not in reality, anyway. I mean, I guess if things were flipped around—if the roles were reversed—I definitely wouldn't be the one sitting here penning some sort of protest manifesto. Not me. Probably wouldn't even have the nerve, honestly. 🙂 !!!???

Assumptions... man, they are a dangerous thing—truly. I mean, people just jump to conclusions without a second thought, and then suddenly, you've got a whole mess on your hands because nobody bothered to actually check the facts first. It’s reckless, really. I guess we all do it sometimes, but when you start building an entire argument on nothing but guesswork? That’s where the trouble starts. It’s a slippery slope, maybe even a cliff, if you ask me.

Look, if you’re going to act like a moderator, I guess you really ought to actually know the rules of the Politics subforum—it's not exactly rocket science, is it? Honestly, it's just common sense, but apparently, that's asking too much these days.

One of the rules is... well, I suppose you could say it's basically this:

Look, I’m just going to lay this out clearly—Article 5, Section 1 of the Code of Conduct for the US Politics subforum applies to everyone, period. That means using derogatory nicknames for fellow forum members or any third parties is strictly off the table. From this point forward, we aren't going to tolerate anyone maliciously twisting names—you know exactly what I mean, like calling Donald Trump "Sranjo," or messing with Kradimir Čačić's name, or turning Ivo Sanders into "Smranader" and all that nonsense. It goes for user handles, too. If you try to twist someone's nickname just to be a jerk, it’s going to be treated exactly the same as direct insults. Consider this your fair warning.

I honestly don't think people grasp how much this whole situation—this entire mess with the current administration—is actually tearing at the fabric of our legal system. I mean, maybe I’m just being cynical, but when you look at how certain figures in Washington are playing by their own rules instead of following the US Constitution, it’s enough to make anyone lose their mind. It feels like we're drifting further away from actual stability every single day. And then you have people like Joe Biden just... well, let's just say they aren't exactly providing the steady hand we were promised, right? It’s all just one long, exhausting cycle of political theater that leaves the rest of us picking up the pieces. I guess I shouldn't be surprised, though—given the state of things lately, surprise isn't really an option anymore. Everything feels so incredibly fractured, and frankly, it's infuriating. We need actual leadership, not just more of this endless, performative nonsense.

If you aren't allowed to write "Donald Trump" or "Kradimir Čačić" because of some arbitrary "rule"—well then, I guess you shouldn't be allowed to say that Dwyane Wade is a moron or that Čačić is an absolute idiot either, right? It just doesn't add up—honestly.

What exactly is it that you aren't grasping? I mean—really—is there some part of this that’s just flying right over your head? Because, honestly, I feel like I've laid everything out quite clearly—or at least, as clearly as one can given the circumstances—but apparently, there's still some massive gap in understanding here. I guess I should have been more explicit, maybe? But seriously, what part of this is actually confusing to you?

So, here’s how it goes.

Look, Joe Biden is practically family to me—I mean, we’re talking close ties here—so whenever someone goes out of their way to call him a monkey, by your twisted logic, I should be allowed to snap back and say, "Well, a monkey made you." It's just how the math works, I guess.

Look, I’m telling you—there’s no such thing as a verbal offense anymore—it just needs to be scrapped entirely. It’s all nonsense, really. Honestly, I’m just sitting here thinking about how much people around here love to take cheap shots at one another—it’s honestly exhausting. It feels like every time someone tries to make a point, instead of actually engaging with the argument, they just pivot straight to personal insults. It’s low-level, really. I mean, we’re all supposed to be having a discussion here, right? But no, it just turns into this constant stream of verbal abuse and petty jabs. I guess that's just how things have gone downhill lately—everyone’s so quick to lash out because they can't handle a real debate without getting defensive. It’s frankly pathetic, and it makes the whole experience feel incredibly toxic. I can't even begin to describe the absolute state of things on the forums lately—it’s just... well, it's a mess. Honestly, I feel like I’m losing my mind trying to keep up with the constant bickering and the sheer amount of nonsense being peddled by certain people. It’s exhausting, really. You go in expecting a decent discussion, maybe some actual insight into the current political climate or something useful regarding the economy, and instead? You get hit with a wall of mindless noise. It feels like everyone has an opinion on everything these days—which, okay, fine, that's the point of a forum—but there's a difference between having an opinion and just shouting into the void to hear your own echo. And don't even get me started on the specific cliques that form around certain topics. It’s like you can't have a nuanced conversation without someone jumping in to derail the whole thing with some half-baked theory or, worse, just pure vitriol. I guess I’m just getting old, or maybe I’ve just lost my patience for the performative outrage that seems to be the only currency left in online discourse. Everything is so polarized now—it’s like you’re either 100% with one side or you're the enemy. There's no middle ground, no room for a little bit of "maybe we're both wrong here," which—in my humble, perhaps overly cynical opinion—is where the most interesting stuff actually happens. Anyway, I'm probably just rambling. My bad. But seriously, does anyone else feel like they're walking through a minefield every time they log on? 🙄

And you—you’re doing exactly the same thing—making a whole lot of assumptions to fill in the gaps of your own explanation.
Based on everything we’ve seen here, it’s pretty easy to draw one conclusion: the "ministers" in this situation are actually just the forum members—and they're being insulted specifically because of that.
So, you’re telling me your own relative is sitting right there in the Department of Health? If that's the case—and let's be honest, it sounds like it—then your entire protest is nothing more than a personal vendetta. How can anyone take your grievances seriously when they're clearly colored by this blatant conflict of interest?😉

Generally speaking, "insulting" someone is such a slippery concept—both in real life and in the digital world. It’s incredibly subjective, isn't it? It all boils down to how sensitive an individual happens to be at any given moment. And you know what that means? It means lawyers are making a killing off it—especially since our legal system hasn't even begun to account for the infinite nuances between a genuine insult and, well, just being blunt.

Are you seriously suggesting we put together some kind of official forum catalog of insults?
Personally, I’d be all for it—it would certainly make my job a lot easier when trying to decipher what any given forum member is actually trying to get at...
It would be nice:
That’s a solid 30 points for insulting Čačić.
Insulting someone's mother? That’s an automatic 50-point penalty—because at the end of the day, a mother is a mother.😂
It’s an insult to our ancestors—stretching all the way back from that idiot Donald Trump down through my grandfather's generation.
It’s an insult to the entire animal kingdom—really, if you compare it to anything else...🙄

etc etc

Just so we're clear—personal attacks against other users are considered a violation here too.
Let's talk about erasing things in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Let’s be clear: moderators don't have the luxury of time to notify every single user whose post gets nuked, nor are they required to.
Whether a post should be erased depends entirely on our judgment—not the author's.
And whether or not someone gets a strike? That’s our call, too.
As for your little crusade—this constant pressure you're putting on administration to force us to keep deleted posts visible—that isn't a moderator issue. Period. Only the upper management of this forum handles proposals like that. Trying to lean on moderators to change policy is nothing more than obstructing our work.
Trying to dictate how we moderate instead of actually being a moderator... well, I think it's pretty obvious what that looks like.

Now, looking back at your post—since you decided to provide a "translation" of it here.
Given that you seem to believe only officially registered religions are "real" and everything else is just some cult (as you explicitly stated in another thread), this deleted post of yours wasn't just off-topic; it was blatantly condescending and insulting to believers outside those mainstream groups. You essentially called them mercenaries—implying they’re only posting on this forum for a paycheck.
It is incredibly easy to claim there was a "misunderstanding" between what an author intended and how their words were interpreted. Your attempt to twist the narrative right here in this PDF—accusing others of hate speech and incitement—makes your true motives perfectly evident.
The fact remains: the three of us moderators didn't see it that way.
Let's talk about erasing things in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Jason Clark7 said:Look, we clearly need moderators—and frankly, we need these forums even more. They provide a massive upgrade to the experience in so many positive ways—but here’s the real issue: if we’re going to make this community work, the moderators need to be treated with a level of respect that actually reflects our collective effort to gather and grow here. Is it really too much to ask for that?

The fact that you guys are all struggling to track down erased posts actually supports my argument—which is why I’m pushing for a dedicated "Trash" (or "Deleted") thread. We need a central hub where we can actually drop links when we're filing an objection. Wouldn't that make things a hell of a lot easier?

So, this is what I’m getting on the Tekoa thread. Erased. Two introductory posts—which I was forced to write immediately afterward. Twenty-four hours of silence. Is that really what we're doing now? I’ll ask again—because frankly, I still don't get it. Why? Seriously, why? So, once again, it turns out they were supposedly "off." Honestly, I walked away from this forum for three or four months because of how Shady handles his bans and strikes—it was becoming impossible. When I come back after a long break, my custom is to drop in and say hello at Tekoa, which is perfectly normal behavior in the real world. Yet, here we are: my first interaction after a long absence results in being erased... And during this latest session regarding Shady’s blatant moderator misconduct, they keep demanding "proof"—even though that very proof keeps vanishing whenever a moderator decides to erase things.

I’m laying all of this out because I genuinely want this forum to be a decent place for us to hang out online—seriously, I don't have a single personal problem with anyone here.

Look, let’s just drop the whole thing about leaving the former moderator alone—as much as you disagree with him, that isn't what this is about (though, in this specific instance, his expertise is clearly lacking). I’m actually glad you decided to speak up here; as a moderator myself, I also have a vested interest in making sure certain things finally get cleared up.
You're the one who wrote those two deleted posts on the thread: "Tekoa—if I'm interpreting this correctly—is the meeting spot for the Muslim forum members."
Let’s stick to the facts:

The topic at hand—which you can find detailed within the attached PDF—is the fact that there aren't any religiously or nationally isolated enclaves to be found here. Is it really that hard to grasp? The data is right there.Every single person on this forum has full access—which means anyone can jump in and post whenever they feel like it.
Look, this is an American forum, and the official language here is English—though we obviously assume everyone can follow along with similar dialects.
So, how is it that you—and a good portion of the other Muslims here—constantly pepper your posts with these Arabic and Turkish loanwords? Even in those posts of yours that have been erased, the pattern is clear. To the vast majority of the rest of us on this forum, it’s just plain incomprehensible—and I’m not even talking about your religious greetings.
Your posts are becoming completely incomprehensible to anyone on this forum who hasn't already memorized everything mentioned above. Seriously—how is anyone supposed to follow this?
It seems to me—and I say this quite deliberately—that you’re intentionally shutting people out of the Tekoa. By using translations alongside specific terms, Shady has actually proven that it’s entirely possible to write in a way that remains accessible to anyone who might want to join the conversation at Tekoa. Why make things more difficult than they need to be?
I personally believe that basic etiquette—whether you're engaging in international diplomacy, religious discourse, or just everyday personal interactions—requires a certain level of decorum from everyone, including you Muslims. And before anyone tries to spin this as intolerance toward Muslims—please, don't even go there; I'm certainly not looking for any reciprocal hostility here.

If my interpretation turns out to be wrong—and if the administration actually steps in to correct me—then fine. I’ll bring your posts back into the light, and I’ll even issue you a public apology.
Since I can't provide a link to the post that was erased—that's just how it works—here it is transcribed instead:

My sincere greetings to Raji—and a special shout-out to the sectarians, especially those of you who only show up when it’s convenient!
Sure, they can say "hello" all they want—it’s all just a front to shake you down for cash.

Now, I want to pose a question to everyone living in areas where these Turkish or Arabic influences aren't part of the daily vocabulary—how exactly are you all interpreting this?
As far as I can tell, this is completely off-topic.

🙂

Your intentions are crystal clear.
Even though you admit that the edited portion of your post is off-base, instead of using the report button—which is your actual right and function here—you decide to single out one specific moderator (me) out of the three currently on duty. You aren't even looking for clarification on why I edited your own post; no, you’re just calling me out regarding a separate, subsequent post, essentially trying to force your own judgment and decision upon me. By bypassing the reporting system—which would involve the other moderators—you are attempting to dictate how I perform my duties, which is completely outside your lane. Furthermore, you’re twisting my private messages to make me look negligent, all while having absolutely no clue about the sheer workload or the constant availability required from the moderators of this platform—myself included.
You're implying that I'm hovering over your posts just to edit them too quickly, creating this false impression that I have nothing better to do than track your every move... basically, you're trying to paint me as biased against you. It’s a clever little tactic, isn't it? You conveniently ignore the only realistic possibility here: that I happened to check this exact thread precisely 14 minutes after you posted, looked it over, and then moved right along with my day.
Ultimately, driven by your personal vendetta against me, you are ignoring the established rules—specifically those regarding filing grievances through the book of complaints. You are positioning yourself above the authority and collective judgment of the entire moderation team by taking this directly to the site administrators.
And if you wanted to mask your antagonism, you could have at least tried harder; in your previous post, you generalized the issue of off-topic content, yet you still insist—without even having written your "future" post yet—that none of the moderators in this section are capable of properly judging a minor (and frankly, negligible) off-topic remark. And that's assuming the remark was even off-topic, considering it was directed at you!

Now you're even bringing up the potential for this debate to drag on for weeks or months...
all just to drive home the point that I am failing in my moderator responsibilities. Well, newsflash: that’s not happening.
This is my final response and my explanation regarding your comment.

It’s not the first time you’ve twisted my posts to fit your own little narrative—which, by the way, tells me everything I need to know about your actual intentions.
Since you’re only cherry-picking one side of what the President said—clearly knowing full well that quoting him in his entirety isn't allowed here—I guess I'll just play by your rules and paraphrase my part of it for you:
I already told you, I’m not the sole moderator for this PDF section; I don't spend every waking second babysitting a single thread... etc., and that was exactly what my "nitpicking" was actually about!

And exactly which timeframe are you complaining about now?
Is it the one that's too fast, or the one that's too slow?
What is it you're actually after here?
Are you looking for permission to commit a murder before you even pull the trigger?
Or perhaps you're just asking for permission to post off-topic nonsense that you haven't even written yet?
