androlog said:Is "Powder Keg" that short one—you know, the one featuring the blind woman/child?
If that’s the one, I’d say it holds up quite well—certainly more substantial than that generic stuff they threw into "The Follow."

The blind mother of that war photographer—yes, that is the one.

😁 Is it even okay to drag up old threads like this?

I found Iñárritu's work to be flawless—including Powder Keg. But regarding that moment at 11'09"01, Josh is really pulling double duty... 😕

miss l on the road said:brightridge19—good grief, please use a standard font; I can't make out a single thing! 🙂

just for you—this massive font 🙂

I mean, honestly—why on earth would an editor from Rolling Stone move over to Mercury Records?

😠

Do you happen to know where he lives? 😁

Oh, goodness—is that the one that grows out of proportion? The oversized one? 😍

The Hedgehog's House—it’s truly peerless, beyond comparison—nothing else even comes close to it 😍

My top five poems by Dr. Seuss:

1. Mother's Little Helper
2. Oh, How Beautiful This World Is
3. The Owl School
4. Jack
5. Selling the Seed

*A sudden wave of nostalgia hits me—quite unexpectedly.*

He claims this is the official website 🙂--though I've always been a bit skeptical about such things--

I can't take this anymore!!!!

How could you not know... there was Mom, then Dad...😕 how did the rest go again?

Ugh. I'll have to try and remember tomorrow....

I honestly have no clue what a Barbershop is :/

There you go. Since I'm feeling generous today, I won't immediately threaten to unfriend you. :P

Instead, I shall educate you.

But tomorrow 😁

Essentially, I find myself in need of some beauty sleep. *sigh*, yawning and lacunae...

Who is it? — Just wondering who might be joining us. 😁

What if I... were to scan them for you? 😁 Ah, these modern social gatherings... they really are something else—quite different from how things used to be.

😍 The family barber—it remains such a cornerstone of our local community. I remember my own father used to take me to his regular spot back in Chicago—a small, quiet shop where everyone knew your name—and that sense of continuity is something we shouldn't take for granted. 😍

Well... there isn't much to say—I suppose I am just feeling a bit overwhelmed today. It is one of those moments where words fail me entirely.

It certainly sounds like an enjoyable endeavor, if I do say so myself. 😁

Do you remember that story about the Great rabbit and the little rabbit? Mom gave the Great one a big carrot—and the little one just a tiny one. Then something happened to them—I can't quite recall—I think there was some blood in the game 😁 and they start screaming, "Mom, Mom, we're dead!" then the legendary Mom snaps back at them, "YOU AREN'T DEAD, YOU IDIOTS!" 🙏 🙏

No...😕

Sorry. 😢

Honestly, try to imagine my sheer horror when a friend’s old acquaintance decided to name her son Joe a few years back.

me: *you can't be serious—naming him after a breakfast meat...🙂*

(I actually felt bad for the kid, picturing those lifelong childhood traumas... though I did eventually realize he was born a full twelve years AFTER the era in question)

Joe Poriluk rules 🙏

~Autumn said:I just got back—having missed about a third of the Barbez concert. I'm fairly certain they're still playing. The conclusion is pretty much obvious at this point.

Can anyone help me recall all the names from those old picture books (maybe by Carrot?🙂):
1. Peter Pepper
2. Brankica kupin (she was always my favorite)
3. Spud... 😕 Leek😕 help me out.

I know one of them used to wear a baseball cap 🤣

I'll give it a shot. 😍These were my favorites—I actually still own most of them.

First, my absolute favorite—Joe Leek😍
Spud is just Spud. By the way, they were all collectively known as *The Loud Bunch*.
Toni Tomato. Cold Cucumber. Swift Banana—slippery and agile. (?) Tina and Lina Mushroom. Were there cherries in there too?

Hmm...

I'm going to go dig through some old boxes.

I am going to remain indignant about this—honestly. Here are just a few gems from USA Today. Who on earth is this Mario Prizmic fellow, and where does he live? I feel inclined to send a firecracker to his mailbox. God bless.

*a mediocre singer*, *half-empty venue*, *conditional hits*, *beautifully articulated boredom*...

I won't even get into the fact that he didn't correctly name a SINGLE album...

What kind of reality am I living in?

Good grief... just good grief.

🤣

*chuckles*

There's a review up on USA Today.

They claim they created this "wonderful, friendly atmosphere" and churned out hits just like Roger Federer’s victories on the tennis tour.

If that isn't the single worst sentence ever written in a review—well, if that's true, then I must be Roger Federer myself.

Particularly because right after the concert, the sky cleared up and the rain stopped—meaning those pedestrians wandering around and the folks too intoxicated to drive back from the middle of nowhere had nothing to worry about except the mud and puddles.

What on earth does that have to do with anything?

Well, now that I've vented all that—with a certain Gallic flair, I suppose—perhaps it is time to stop being so pedantic...

*speechless with rage*

And to top it all off, they conclude that the whole thing wasn't even that great.

waiting for that perfect moment..

That is exactly how I feel—whenever I skip out on a massive party, I end up wishing I hadn't stayed home in the first place...
