Appeal for ban removal from the IT/Power User subforum in Feedback & Suggestions ·
equi, you're letting things slip with your agency; information is leaking everywhere. 😁

So, we're dropping the request to lift the partial ban. Fair enough. Pilatus, just a heads-up: lifting a partial ban is entirely up to the subforum moderators. They make the call, not the supermods or admins. Admins only step in if the mods actually agree with the proposal. Since we're moving on from this, we can close the thread.

Jason Campbell70 said:I can give it a shot, but what happens when I run into my old buddy Veedar?

How am I supposed to wish him a Happy Easter? 😢

And how do I show up in front of him on January 7th without traditionally saying "Christ is born"? 🙂
I really don't want to start any heavy conversations. That's just not me, and you know that, Skocmen. 😁

Silence speaks volumes.

Reading this actually brings a tear to my eye. I think about my old friend Veedar waiting sadly for a greeting, and then I think about you struggling with this. It honestly hurts my heart to imagine you both in such distress; I'd tell you to just write to Jason Campbell70 whatever your heart desires. This hits deep, man. You're really touching a nerve here. 😢 If anyone else asked me, I’d say strictly no. But since it's you, Pila, this is tough. 😢

😁

Jason Campbell70 said:I am a power user—extraordinarily advanced, even. It's right there in the text.

Your offer is a real mess, Skocmen. 🙂
So, what am I supposed to say now?

My heart is breaking. 😢

Even though I'm 90 percent sure I'll take you up on it, I need some time to think.

I know it's a tough one, Pila. But it's for your own good, even if my heart aches whenever I remember Veedar. 😢

With a heavy heart, I have to say: take all the time you need. Until then, go in peace, good man. 🙂

What does the highly respected power user Jason Campbell70 think about this final PDF offer from the board, specifically the one for "☕power users😁"? Should we pass these finalized legislative amendment proposals up to the higher authorities?
Diaspora Moderator - Ironing Man in Feedback & Suggestions ·
coppernomad28 said:None of that happened while she was gone for over a month. Plus, Skate was still around...

Ironing Man just pops in whenever she feels like it, hands out bans however she pleases, and then vanishes again for a while. Consistency? Tact? Calmness? Yeah, none of that exists.
She hasn't started a single meaningful thread.
She doesn't actually engage in discussions.
She even wiped my posts from the chat (and I'm talking about the ones where I wasn't even calling out her terrible moderation).

Need anything else? 🤷

Wait, can you explain that bolded part to me? I’m genuinely lost. Are you saying that trolling on this sub will only increase once she starts moderating?
Look, let's be honest—you have to admit there's trolling all over this site. It’s happening with Skate Mus, and it was happening before ambermason16 even showed up. You can't seriously tell me this didn't spike right after she arrived. I know this forum well enough to know that there isn't a single sub-forum without its share of problematic users. So, you're probably not going to sell me that story.
We can talk about the appeal regarding ambermason16. I honestly believe no moderator is perfect—not me, and certainly not anyone else. Because of that, I think justified appeals are always possible.
I’m not even going to bother bringing up that PDF full of perfect little angels, since apparently, nobody is allowed to talk about it anyway.
A lot of those deleted posts really deserved to go, so they were removed for good reason. From what I can see, everyone kept acting the same way even after she gave a warning. The moderator has every right to clear that stuff out.

Whether someone decides to post or start new threads is entirely up to them. That doesn't necessarily determine if they're a good moderator or not. Everyone should have the freedom to decide how much they want to write or how many topics they open. It’s not like there’s some employment contract dictating those things. 😉 Moderators usually don't have much time to actually post. They're busy balancing their day jobs and real life, then they hop on the forum just to clean up subforums. There's rarely any time left to write. I wouldn't use that as a metric for how good a moderator is. We can still discuss specific complaints—that's still relevant here—but using lack of posting time to judge someone's performance is a weak argument.

mistyhound2 said:I’ve gotta vent here, because honestly, I don't usually give a damn about the moderators, but this is getting ridiculous. 🙄 ambermason16 has seriously gone overboard with all this deleting posts lately. Now she's even started scrubbing the chat threads. Today, she actually docked me some points just because she thinks I'm "trolling" in the chat. 😕 😁 Look, it's not even about the points, but if we can't just talk about whatever we want in a casual chat thread—without any insults or hate speech, mind you—then what's the point? 😢 ambermason16 doesn't care about the diaspora subforum, she doesn't join the discussions, and she doesn't even moderate that section... so I have to wonder, what is her actual purpose being there? 😕

I took a look at your post too. It was deleted after a warning to move discussions about moderation over to the PZK. After that deleted post, you made another one about the moderators and got a strike. If a moderator asks to move a conversation elsewhere, we should probably respect that. Even in the chat threads. Those aren't exempt from moderation either; they're meant for casual chatting, but they still have boundaries and rules.

As for her writing, I’ve already said my piece above—it's entirely up to her. Whether she actually cares about that subforum or not is something she'll have to clarify herself.

From what I can see, Skate Mus and ambermason16 are doing the exact same job, even if it’s invisible to you guys. So, I have to wonder—why is one considered good while the other is seen as bad? After looking through some deleted posts on various topics that both of them have scrubbed, I honestly think some people in the diaspora need to ask themselves what they actually want from these subforums. Are you looking for anarchy, endless off-topic rambling, and constant trolling everywhere you turn?
First, tell me: what would you actually gain if ambermason16 left? What exactly is she doing wrong? How is she holding back your discussions?
Complaint about spectator behavior in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I don't think you actually received biased decisions here, though I get why it feels that way. Those warnings you got are just nudges to let you know which parts of your tone need adjusting. Honestly, some of what you posted really did warrant a warning. Is that bias? Not really. Any moderator on a major site like Reddit or even a local community board would have flagged those same comments. True bias would be if someone just nuked your account or banned you instantly without cause. Or if your valid, well-argued posts were being deleted for no reason. Looking at these warnings, I just don't see that happening. 🙂

There’s already a thread covering the forum issues mentioned by Google. Let's keep the conversation going over there. 🙂

Everything mentioned here has been verified, so the partial ban on the TV network's PDF stands and will remain in place.

Spam's been cleared out. I should've just handed out bans right away, but I'm trying not to go overboard with the spamming.

ambermason16 will walk you through why you got a partial ban, so just hang tight for a second. If that doesn't clear things up, one of the admins will step in.

This is starting to feel more like politics, and this subforum isn't really meant for that. Michael got the answer he was looking for. I think we can close this thread.

Look, since you don't have any specific complaints and you're just circling back to a case we've already covered, this thread isn't really going anywhere. Your tone isn't helping matters either. I'm closing this down. 😉
About the mods in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Do you have a specific complaint? It’s easy to just drag moderators through the mud without actually saying anything useful. This sub is mostly for addressing real issues. So, if there's something specific bothering you, please just lay it out.

Jason Campbell70 said:Even though he's typed out over 70 posts since this thread started, the moderator hasn't bothered to show up here.

I'm also looking for input from the supermoderators, and I'd like my last warning removed since it was unfairly given to me.

I’m telling the moderator to treat all forum members equally and to run this sub-forum according to the rules his superiors set for him. ☕

So far, that hasn't happened.👎

Looking at that post that got flagged, it seems like you were being a little insulting. You might not have named anyone directly, but it was pretty obvious who you were poking at. So, the warning wasn't completely baseless. That's just my neutral take on it. Ultimately, it's up to the moderator's discretion since they have more context on the full discussion.

Laura Palmer25 said:Awful, just awful! The peak was definitely at the end when one of the evil CEO's bodyguards yells at Mel, "Stay There ! Don't move! Be dead!" 🤣

Yeah, that scene was pretty cheesy and naive. 😁 Personally, I thought the movie was alright. It's not a masterpiece, but it isn't complete garbage either. Maybe the pacing drags a bit and the plot gets a little muddy in places regarding who's who, but it's worth a watch.
Expecting Gibson to still be playing characters like Riggs at his age in a movie like this is probably asking too much. 😁
Quick favor? :) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
It’s not really an issue of safety, but he definitely pushed things way past the limits the admins warned him about. From what I understand, Tyndall gave him a chance to come back if he met certain conditions, but Maminho just never replied. So, as far as I know, there won't be any way for him to return. We might need to lock this thread too. 😁
From Russia with Love (2009) in Movies ·
Anthony Smith3 said:From Russia with Love (2010) 4.5/5 - TRAILER

To be totally honest, this is personally the most fun action movie I've seen so far this year—though the year has just started, so there's plenty of time for others to top it. I also have to admit that "From Russia with Love" is actually a tiny bit better and definitely more entertaining than the highly praised "Taken," which comes from the same director/writer/producer team. Here’s why.

Great post, really well described. 👍

Regarding the comparison between "Taken" and "From Russia with Love," the latter is definitely a bit more fun because they took a slightly different approach with these movies. Both are fast-paced, things move quickly and get resolved, and both showcase a ruthless way of handling problems. I enjoyed both, but they hit differently since their vibes are distinct.
"Taken" feels a bit more serious because they leaned into the gravity of a man trying to save his kidnapped daughter. This one follows a similar formula, just much more laid back, and the plot moves at that relaxed pace. It was made for pure entertainment, letting you enjoy a "wild" Travolta who handles business in such unique, funny, and brutal ways.
That’s why "From Russia with Love" comes off as more fun, though maybe it's a little ungrateful to compare it directly to Taken.

Joshua James57 said:watched it today. found it fun, perfect for just relaxing. the end was a little silly, but there were some original scenes that I actually loved..

That’s exactly what it is. Just turn your brain off and relax. You don't overthink it; you just follow the action as it moves along quickly and smoothly. If that's how you watch movies, it's a pretty good flick.
Quick question about editing and... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Samuel Palmer10 said:If you’ve already looked at it and decided it’s off-topic, who am I to argue?
So you're saying I'm being too extreme instead of just being specific. My bad.

But she still hasn't explained why she started flooding the on-topic posts.

If you feel like some posts should have stayed up, Brenda Barrett58 already explained why they were removed. Only she can say exactly why those specific ones were deleted, since she’s the one moderating this thread. She's also the only one who can explain her reasoning behind deleting, editing, or flagging anything. Neither I nor the other moderators here can speak to that, because she's running this entire section.
Like I said, we drifted off-topic for a bit, but Brenda Barrett58 can give you the rundown on the actual subject.

If you're only looking for answers in posts that you consider on-topic, then I don't see why you'd write this to Brenda Barrett58 when she'll show up in this thread anyway:

Samuel Palmer10 said:My question on the FBI forum wasn't directed at you, but thanks anyway for weighing in. You're actually a party to this dispute yourself.
I know exactly why she deleted it.

Samuel Palmer10 said:Where does it say this is an appeal?
Even if there were, I can see there isn't any bread here. 😉

I don't know, I'll leave that up to you. You're the one who started this thread, not me. 😉
Quick question about editing and... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
From what I can tell, most of what was removed was just off-topic stuff. The moderator actually explained exactly what was cut from the post and why it was edited. What else is there to complain about, and what kind of response are you expecting from Brenda Barrett58?
Weird forum, weird users—zero objectivity here in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I don't really see a formal complaint here or any specific issue being raised, other than starting a thread just to hear what Melania thinks. Since she's shared her perspective and the topic itself is pretty vague and focused on some odd characters, I'm going to close this thread.
