Maybe I shouldn't even bother commenting since I haven't actually watched the movie yet—and honestly, I probably won't—but there are a few things I noticed in the trailers. Specifically, the historical accuracy regarding the gear is just MASSIVELLY off... You have Cate Blanchett wearing a 15th-century German sallet in a film set at the end of the 12th century. 😵 Then there's that 14th-century bascinet on the king's head. Seriously, if I knew who their lead historical consultant was, I'd stick them on a spike and crown them with Cate Blanchett's sallet while I was at it. And those landing ships... do I even need to go any further?
I watched Savior too, but I can't quite remember how it ended. Does anyone know much more about The Vampire? I'm really into vampire movies, so if someone wouldn't mind, could you write up a quick summary of what happens in The Vampire?
Just heard about another Mexican film that's supposedly a horror called Holy Place:
"Synopsis: A story of strange love between a young seminarian and the beautiful daughter of a powerful feudal lord. After her mysterious death, the seminarian is called to fulfill her final wish: to recite prayers by her casket in the local church for three consecutive nights. Terrifying tales regarding the deceased—stories of her sinful affair with her father and her debauched lifestyle—fail to extinguish the young man's devotion. Haunted by her illicit bond with her father and consumed by hatred, she continues to seek vengeance against men even from beyond the grave. Her sacrifice will ultimately claim the innocent, lovestruck seminarian."
Ethan Howard45, if you don't mind, could you give me a quick rundown of the plot for Butterfly? I haven't seen it since I'm a bit younger, but the whole concept of American vampires sounds pretty cool to me.
T.T.Sindrom seems like it would be a solid watch (at least based on that link in the post above). I think I should check it out.
Ethan Howard45 said:Americans have put out a few horror movies or films with horror elements over the last decade or so:
One is that "labyrinth" one (is that what it's called??). There's some secret passage under Central Park where things go down. I think Nikolić plays an old legend in it.. I also read something about a zombie movie, but that sounds like total trash. Then there's the "Mexican film," I saw the trailer for it (did that even come out!?) starring S. Todorović and Sergej Trifunović http://velimir-grgic.com/tekstovi/srpski-film.html It's more about snuff, but it flirts with horror.
I think I watched that Labyrinth movie. Is that the one where a man has a child with a woman and then abandons her, and years later he falls in love with his own daughter, so the mother locks them both in a labyrinth to punish them?
I was wondering if anyone knows of any American horror movies or series, maybe some old classics from the old US days or something more recent? I happened to catch a movie called "Mor," which is about a werewolf who falls for this noblewoman he can't ever truly have. It isn't exactly terrifying—it leans more toward being romantic—but it's still an interesting take on the genre.
