If you did, maybe just grab CCleaner and wipe your cookies and history. It's probably just some old icons from the English version stuck in your cache that the site is pulling from your computer instead of the server.

Options -> Edit options and just scroll down until you hit Miscellaneous.

The forum Language setting is right there, so you can just pick your language from the dropdown menu.

Btw, ambermason16, if you switch it to English like I said, it should probably update your stuff too, I guess. 🙂

honestly, my biggest issue is political correctness—both from people using this Forum for their own ends, and my own stupidity for letting everything slide in the name of free speech, which lets all sorts of stuff slip through

The issue isn't that there are users here using the Forum for an agenda. That'll always happen; it's just part of politics.
I'll admit I fall into that trap sometimes too, but hey, we're human.

The real problem with politics is that you have moderators who have their own agendas on the Forum, and that’s a slightly bigger deal than just user agendas.

Because moderators have "editing power," and that should be free from any agenda except maybe the owner's.

But arguing is pointless since it won't change anything, so let's drop it.

Personally, I don't have anything against you. I don't have anything against people with different views either, whether in politics or life. To me, diversity is a good thing.
As long as that "different" person isn't trying to erase my differences.

And all this talk about my political involvement or promoting someone... look, I'll always say what I think. Nobody is forcing me or giving me instructions. It's just my opinion on a politician or a party. I hope that's allowed under your version of "free speech."
But since people keep accusing me of having an agenda, lately I've been watching what I write and where I write it, just so it doesn't get twisted.

My agenda is my business. If you want to talk about leashes, talk about the moderators; those leashes aren't attached to me.

I already run five or six other boards, but none of them have anything to do with what we're talking about here.
I could leave, but I'm not going to play those cards like we did a few months ago.

Until then, I'm staying for the other people here I actually enjoy talking to. My only "agenda" right now is sending a few PMs, making a few posts, and that's it. Maybe changing the vibe, but since that's impossible, it's more like a game to me.

So, there it is. It's all on you. I can only write and do what any other user does. Until things turn red or gray.

Oh, and I'll always file an appeal if I think something's unfair. That's not about an agenda, it's just about being fair.

Sure, you can always shut down my right to ask by using some technicality (calling it a 🙏 loophole), but I've been ready for that for a long time now. It's just a matter of when it happens, I guess. That's always your prerogative. I won't hold it against you if you use it.

As for me stirring the pot by uncovering some dirty oil under the political hood... that's on you guys. It's an issue of how you pick the people running things. So don't go killing the messenger; maybe check if you sent the wrong commander and the wrong troops out into the field in the first place.

Of course, he never married. Never had kids.
They totally ruined a young, innocent, healthy guy. They just destroyed his entire life... and he didn't do anything wrong. His only crime was being an American soldier for a few months in the US.
Another relative, who was never even in the military, was killed in 1945. They came to his house, dragged him away, and killed him like a dog. Supposedly someone reported him for shouting "Long live America." He was only 15 when they killed him.

My father had everything lined up to get one of those communist apartments in New York City—you know, when they supposedly gave them to everyone—but obviously, he didn't get one because his old man was an Ustaše.
Because of his dad, my uncle couldn't even get a job, even though he graduated top of his class and was a total pro in his field. Luckily, he found work in Germany and made it happen.

I know plenty of other communist crimes that happened within a few blocks of my house, all with names and faces attached... I even know the names of the killers. Just saying.

And here's the kicker... I've NEVER posted this on the internet before, but I'm doing it now.

And then comes this guy who deserves like 20 permanent bans on this Forum, and there's pretty much evidence he's just a clone of a permanently banned user, typing this out:

Like, 99% of what he posts is just pure trolling and flame wars. His whole deal is basically just blowing up discussions and baiting people on the Forum until they get banned for reacting to him.

It’s honestly tough to spot guys like this and just tune them out, since they don't add anything to the conversation. Nobody's gonna miss him, and things would actually be way better if he just disappeared.

My post got nuked last night, and here was the reason given:

The issue isn't really the deletion itself, it's just that they suddenly started enforcing this rule out of nowhere.
Then there's the fact that the rule isn't even being used consistently anymore, because right here in this same thread, there's a post by Sarah Wilson95 that definitely has over 2000 characters of quoted text, and her entire comment is basically just "coffee talk topics:".

So, it would be nice to know why my post got hit when it's never happened before, especially since it looks like there's no intention of actually enforcing it moving forward.

Maybe it's just some specific users getting picked on.

How does a computer stay logged into a site?

Like, for dummies:

- when you hit "remember me" on a login page, a little script gets created in your browser tied to that specific URL.
So when you go back to the page, the browser pulls the saved info and logs you in automatically.

The fact that it won't let you log in when you type it manually suggests the browser is losing the session during redirection, and the fact that the Skype link works means you have a saved script, but for some reason, the browser isn't finding it.

Maybe CCleaner and reinstalling the browser would fix it. You’d have to make sure to check the box in CCleaner to clear "saved form data."

Honestly, what would freak me out is if some virus messed with those functions, since there are viruses out there that love to tweak those scripts to steal Facebook passwords or credit card numbers.

Either way, the issue is on the client side, not the server. So it's probably your PC, not the forum.

Look, let's just lay it out like this:

1. There’s supposedly some script you can install that lets admins read private messages. I know for a fact it wasn't there a few years back. So, I was just asking if maybe they added it since then?
2. An admin actually claimed that staff can see all DMs, which is why I thought asking for clarification was totally fair.
3. I got an answer, and I'll take it however I want—believe it or not, I guess.
4. It’s kind of wild how five troll posts from moderators popped up immediately on this topic, and obviously, they won't get banned.

I'm not gonna keep dragging this out, not because there isn't anything left to say, but because it's pointless. With the way the administration handles user questions—being arrogant, mocking, and condescending—there's just no point, right?

From what I know, people have been talking about this for years. Since the old acting roles were just sys admins, I'd be happy if things actually changed and our private chats—which I'd really like to stay private—moved to a different platform...
