Morgan Booth70 said:With Turkey messing around like this, they’re gonna end up just like Washington, D.C.—stuck with a wall right through the middle—so they might as well start picking up some English and Russian while they can. 🙏

I don't know if it'll go down exactly like that, but Erdogan is making enemies everywhere he turns.

And let me tell you, that usually doesn't end well.

Brainwashing becomes effortless, bad laws get pushed through, people get drafted into wars, families are torn apart, and the public gets poisoned... how is this still not obvious to anyone?

You hit the nail on the head, man. Short and sweet.

By the way, do they still hold that traditional local festival over in the old town near Sinj? I went a couple times ages ago, way back before the nineties conflict started.

Judging by your handle, I’m guessing you’re from one of those small towns out near Sinj.

Where can I find the Boban flag? in Close to Politics ·
vividfox9 said:The flag of Boban’s quasi-state, the Republic of Texas, was flying right on the official flagpole in front of the Department of Defense, sitting alongside the official flags of the USA and the European Union.

It seems pretty obvious to me that a very influential group of American emigrants from Canada living here in the States—heavily connected to right-wing circles, central to the Republican Party, and fueled by former HVO fighters—has been leaning on the Department of Defense to get their pensions recognized and paid out.

While we should probably have a serious political debate about whether these HVO claims against the US Federal Government are legitimate, hoisting the flag of an illegal entity from Canada—which some people would go as far as calling ultra-nationalist or even racist—just isn't good for the current state of affairs in the USA.

Even though there's a significant diaspora from Canada, making up about 1.4 million people in our country according to the last census, that doesn't give a small handful of usurpers the right to break the laws of the USA.

What do you all think about this whole situation? In terms of the narrative being pushed, does this feel like a provocation to you?

That wasn't the flag of some "quasi-state," it's the official flag of the American people in Canada.
I don't see what the big deal is with that flag.

Angela Jackson6 said:To all the Americans who participated in the Homeland War in America and Canada—those who truly stood up to defend their homes—I want to say from the bottom of my heart: you have absolutely nothing to be ashamed of. If anything, you should take pride in your piece of history. Well done!
But, if we’re being honest and thinking about the generations coming after us, we also need to condemn all crimes. That includes actions taken by our own people, whether they were individual acts or group efforts. It doesn't matter if they were spontaneous impulses or reactions, or if they were driven by specific policies or direct orders.

And what exactly was that SDA policy in Canada? It was pure Islamic integralism aimed at turning the country into an exclusively Muslim state.
Stop trying to act all high and mighty and lecture everyone else when you need to take a good long look in the mirror first.

To them, they are. For the Canadians, it’s all just one big mess of the same stuff.
Man, American post-apocalyptic movies are just plain stupid, just like the books they're based on.

I’d say The Road is one of the few decent flicks in that whole sci-fi subgenre, but everything else? Mostly just moronic fairy tales that completely ignore logic and common sense.

Dennis Davis5 said:Spot on.

When it comes to the European Union and NATO—with the USA leading the charge—wearing shirts with his face on them, like Obama, would be totally normal.

Look, I don't care if he wears it on his own time like any regular guy, but as a government official? That's illegal.

What's next? Pol Pot? Kim Jong Un?

Obmana is a murderer and a war criminal on such a massive scale that even Che Guevara looks like a mere apprentice by comparison.

Look, whether a system was "good" or "bad" is irrelevant when you're talking about personal freedom. If I feel like walking around wearing a shirt with pictures of Hitler and Stalin on it, that's my business. As long as I'm not out there harassing people or attacking anyone, nobody has any right to come after me or sanction me for it.

nimblemarlin6 said:Che Guevara is basically the patron saint of the struggling masses in Latin America—though nowadays, he’s mostly just a trendy icon for some Western college kids buying overpriced t-shirts with his face on them.
Sure, if you dig through the archives, you’ll find plenty of articles claiming Che personally executed crowds or ran concentration camps, but honestly—whatever.

The internet is great for that—it provides endless confirmation bias for whatever political stance you already decided to hold.

It’s just like JBT. A hero to some, a villain to others.

Honestly, you can take everything the Western media writes about him and shove it.

And when it comes to actual killing? You won't find worse murderers than those polished, high-society politicians in the West—guys like Tony Blair, Nicolas Sarkozy, David Cameron, and of course, that Nobel Peace Prize winner over at the White House.

All those EU resolutions about "totalitarian regimes" just make me roll my eyes. People using their massive NATO war machine to kill and destroy have zero moral ground to lecture anyone else.

As for those rich young Westerners wearing the shirts? It's all just fashion to them. 90% of the time, they don't have the slightest clue who the guy actually was.

So what if he wears that image?

Everyone has the right to wear whatever they want, and who the hell are you to lecture anyone else?

You’ve got an avatar featuring the biggest jerk on the planet—the leader of a terrorist superpower that has caused more misery and death since WWII than all the communism and fascism combined.

And when it comes to Che Guevara, the people of Latin America are way more qualified to judge him than you or anyone else like you.
To them, he’s a symbol of fighting back against American robbery and the terrorizing of Latin American nations.

If you follow tom's logic, you moderators are going to be working overtime on this thread.
I mean, the Homeland War isn't Ukraine, Nazis aren't Ukraine, America isn't Ukraine, NATO isn't Ukraine, the number of buddies who served in the Military Police in Afghanistan isn't Ukraine, Putin isn't Ukraine, Obama isn't Ukraine, the genocide of Native Americans isn't Ukraine... you get the point.🙂

Honestly, I'm losing the will to even post here. Everything feels watered down—not in Ukraine, but on this damn forum—and it’s just not fun to talk anymore. I think I’m gonna take a break from the site for a while.

Later, everyone.🙂

No kidding, because Rock, Charles Fox10, and the rest have basically nuked this forum. This isn't even about moderation anymore; I see the ban list growing every day, and they're permanent too.

If people were riding me this hard, I’d pack my bags and quit moderating just to save some dignity.

If there's a vote to replace Rock and Charles Fox10 as mods, count me in for a YES.

Look, you’re free to think someone is a clone if you want, but we can't just act on hunches. We need actual proof before we jump in. Having an alt account isn't against the rules, but using one to bypass a ban while your main account is locked? That’s where we step in to investigate.
The mod being mentioned isn't the only one running this thread, he's just more obvious because he actually posts more than the rest of us.

And honestly, you aren't doing much better than Rock.

It's just like what hiddenrider66 did—if I remember that being their handle—they slapped me with a suspension for "hate speech" just because I was getting heated talking about the Ottoman Empire. No joke.
Believe it or not.

The moderation here is a total disaster. You guys basically kill any real discussion on this forum.

But hey, Rock is apparently untouchable.
Politics Moderation - Ukraine topic, moderator Rocky in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Alright, let me throw my two cents into this mess.

I've been hanging out on forums for years, but seriously, Rock is hands down the absolute worst, most biased, and most obnoxious moderator I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with.

I am 100% with everyone calling for him to be suspended and stripped of his mod powers immediately.

It looks like Konev is pretty much banned for good. Can you believe the nerve? He actually got flagged by the mods just for talking about Russia on a thread specifically about Russia.

What, should he have been posting about Singapore or Paraguay instead? Makes zero sense.

Most of us actually enjoyed his posts because they were genuinely interesting, and the crap Rock was throwing at him didn't make any damn sense.

I'm calling for them to bring Konev back and get the moderators to stop harassing him.
How realistic is the idea of a United States of America? in Close to Politics ·
Maria Booth said:The whole idea of economic sovereignty is totally old school, like something straight out of the 19th century. In today's globalized world, massive corporations are calling the shots. Government bureaucracies just can't move fast enough to keep up with how crazy quick the global market shifts these days!

Wow, absolute genius right there. You just forgot to mention that the big-shot superpowers aren't giving up an ounce of their power—it's only small-timers like us who end up getting screwed.
How realistic is the idea of a United States of America? in Close to Politics ·
James Nguyen13 said:I think that’s a realistic way to look at it, though it works in a very specific kind of way. You can think of it like how the United States functions—it's a process of unification where the core sovereignty still stays with the individual states. Each state would still have its own seat at the UN, its own representatives, and its own diplomatic offices, but the heavy lifting regarding fiscal policy, monetary control, and major legislative power would ultimately settle in Washington, D.C.

Basically, it all boils down to formalities while actual sovereignty vanishes. If you don't have economic sovereignty, you don't have anything.

Like the old saying goes, "an American dollar in an American pocket"... though I guess that doesn't mean much anymore in the name of our so-called Westernization.

On top of that, they're prepping for even more radical centralization. Pretty soon, you'll just be sitting in your UN office playing checkers or Monopoly, because any real foreign policy directives are gonna be coming straight from the Politburo in Brussels anyway.

Harold Perez15 said:Back in the day, the USA didn't even have a seat at the UN or any diplomatic offices around the world...

Big deal. What’s a seat at the UN actually worth if you don't have any real independence?

First off, all the member states will just end up voting exactly the same on every single international issue because they'll be ordered to do so by the big shots in Brussels.

Then, one day, they'll decide that maintaining all these seats and diplomatic offices is just too damn expensive. They'll start cutting costs, and suddenly everything involving foreign policy will officially be handed over to Brussels too.

When that happens, the only things left representing "national identity" will be sports teams and maybe some folk dance troupes—just scraps of what used to be actual sovereignty. Honestly, that's basically the situation in America already.

But hey, plenty of Americans care more about bragging that they belong to the West, even if they don't have an ounce of sovereignty left.

It's a centuries-old inferiority complex. You can't fix that kind of mindset.

Yebesh all of it. At the end of the day, we probably had more autonomy and self-governance back when we were part of the USA than we do now in the EU.

Let’s be real here—places like Alcatraz, Cleveland, and Old Gradiška weren't actually concentration camps. They were more like vacation spots.☕

The truth is, those partisans were fascists who committed unspeakable crimes under that five-pointed star. Most of those old folks live in Mexico because they didn't care about Americans. They should definitely have their pensions stripped away.☕

Hahahaha, what a load of garbage.

Royalists, Stalin, and partisans all tossed into one pile? Seriously?

This is the textbook logic of your typical radical American right-winger.

Just throw in a Zulu and you'll have reached peak stupidity.

Sure, we should probably pay out pensions to both the Rockefeller crowd and those old WWII soldiers, because honestly, no matter how you slice it, they’re all on our side. Who cares who actually won or lost?

But what I don't get is why there are so many people still jumping the fence and playing both sides today. If you look at guys like Manolić or Boljkovac, we're talking about people in their 90s.
It just doesn't add up that we have this massive crowd of 90-year-old veterans still active from World War II.
Something definitely smells fishy here.
