Best video editing software? in Software ·
Bradley Baker38 said:so I'm messing around with WMM trying to clip some specific scenes out of a video, but nothing's working 🙂

to trim clips, just grab ultra video splitter
to stitch stuff together, go with ultra video joiner

super easy to use, actually gets the job done 🙂

Taylor Doyle79 said:Where can I grab the SP1 for this thing? 🤷 😬 Everything else seems to be updating just fine on its own.

You can just pull it through the update tool if you want. 😉
driftingmarlin70 said:got a stupid, totally pointless question but I really need an answer here.
I was trying to install Office 2010, but specifically the Polish version, and the installer just died on me when I hit cancel.
Now I'm sitting here wondering if there's any leftover junk—like total garbage—clogging up my registry from that failed attempt? (running Win7 Ult SP1)

Nothing should be left behind in the registry since the installation never actually finished.

But hey, if you want peace of mind, go ahead and check. If there's anything actually there, cleaning it out is easy enough. 😉

Henry Morales6 said:I've got this "issue"... basically, no matter what I'm typing—whether it's in chat, Microsoft Word, or right here on the forum—I keep getting these annoying red underlines everywhere. I think it's the spellcheck acting up because it probably needs an American English language pack or something. I'm running Windows 7, so does anyone know where I can grab that?

On Windows 7, you can just swap the language through Windows Update.😉
rustywalker1 said:Honestly, that's basically just WordPad. It’s nothing special. You're better off just sending some text to someone else to throw into Microsoft Word, tweak it a bit, and print it out. 🤷
Microsoft Word is hands down the best tool for this kind of stuff. If you're planning on writing things like this in the future, you might as well just install it.

I don't know... I just can't be bothered to install it just for that.😁
Kyle Johnson2 said:Let's get one thing straight here. Word and WordPad both handle text, but they aren't even in the same league.
The stuff you posted looks like it was typed up in WordPad. Look, if you actually have Word on your machine, just use that. You'll have way more control over what you're doing.

the basic Word that comes pre-installed with Windows 7... I really don't feel like installing the full Office suite just for this. I never use it anyway, and honestly, it just feels like bloatware taking up space on my PC.

I managed to make do with this version, though. It’s not quite what I had in mind, but I guess I can still get some help out of it. 👍
rustywalker1 said:so did you try this yet? is this what we're looking at?

if you've got enough text for three pages, then that's how many pages you're gonna get. you can't just cram everything onto one😉

look, i get what you're saying, but Microsoft Word is showing me it's just one page, then when i go to print, suddenly it's 3 pages because the font looks huge

i already tried, i don't have print layout active right now, let me grab a screenshot for you

rustywalker1 said:Do you want Microsoft Word to actually look like you're typing on standard US Letter paper while you work?

If that's the issue, just hit VIEW > PRINT LAYOUT and you're done. Simple enough.

And when you go to print, I'm pretty sure it defaults to US Letter anyway.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant—I want it to look like I'm working on a US Letter page.

The problem is, even though it's set to print on US Letter, whenever I try to print just one single page from Microsoft Word, it somehow splits itself across three different US Letter sheets and tries to print all three of them to the end. What's up with that?
hey there

So, look, I basically never touch Microsoft Word—honestly, I don't even use anything like it—but I've got a question. How do I actually make sure the text I'm typing stays in standard Letter size?

I'm trying to put together a job application, right? In Microsoft Word, it looked like a single page, but when I hit print, the thing came out as three separate pieces... like, three pages long. Total mess.

How do I set it up so that if it looks like one page on my screen, it actually prints out as just one single sheet of paper?

And honestly, what font size am I supposed to be using for this stuff? I have zero clue about any of these settings.

thanks

Taylor Morales31 said:I'm not even bothering switching over to Opera... honestly, what's the point? Nothing's broken, nothing's wrong. Why mess with a good thing?

Honestly, Opera is the only way to go. It’s easily number one. 👍
Noah Sanchez39 said:Quick question for those of you running Opera... is there an actual AdBlock or some kind of Flash blocker out there? Or maybe just a similar extension that actually works? 🤔
I finally tracked it down for Safari, Firefox, and Chrome. Honestly, it’s become that one essential little thing for my browser—kind of like the secret sauce. I don't even know if I could get used to browsing without it at this point.

Maybe there's something going on, I guess? Who knows. Honestly, I just install Flash Player on Opera and call it a day. That’s about it. I don't really need anything else. Why bother? 😁

quietbadger23 said:So, I boot up my PC and this just pops up right in my face. What gives? I can't even begin to explain what I'm looking at here. Seriously. Is this some kind of sick joke? I mean, look at that screen. Just... look at it. What kind of nightmare fuel did we stumble into today? Honestly, if this is what my life has become—staring at broken images and digital chaos—then I might as well just pack it in now. Who even does this? Why am I even clicking these links? It’s just one thing after another, isn't it? Everything is broken. Always.
What even is that? Is it some kind of massive error or what? Just sounds like more junk to deal with, honestly.
How am I supposed to fix this??
Thanks.

Can you actually post a larger image? I can barely make out what's written here. It's just a blur. 🙂

Linda Booth4 said:I'm looking for someone who actually knows their stuff when it comes to Windows 7—specifically how to download and get it installed. If you can shoot me a Private Message with a step-by-step guide and if you're the type of person who can help me troubleshoot all those annoying errors, let me know. It's kind of urgent, so thanks in advance!

Man, there's really no point in double-posting the same thing across two different subforums. It's all the same crowd hanging out here anyway. 🙂

Sophia Anderson35 said:That software won't burn AVI files without converting them first.

Microsoft didn't burn my AVIs for me either, and honestly, I don't want it to.

If you're saying it "won't burn"
all three programs we talked about can handle AVI formats just fine, along with pretty much everything else out there.

So, what are we actually talking about here? A converter? Or a burning program? Just be a bit more specific about what you're looking for.

maybe give it a
shot
I'm using Microsoft right now and honestly, it does the job. I used to roll with Nero back in the day and it was totally fine, no complaints there.

As for the licensing stuff? Please. That’s easy enough to sort out if you know what you're doing. 😉

wanderingheron52 said:Yeah, I caught that. But like I was saying, if that feature even exists, I’d probably need to search through multiple categories anyway for a few different reasons.

Anyway, thanks.

Not sure about that—didn't really look for it that way.

Whenever I actually need something, I just search exactly how I wrote it out. 🙂

I've been banging my head against the wall for half an hour now 😍

Just hit the Start menu and type whatever you're looking for

It'll pull up everything matching that name

Is clicking "install" just gonna eat up half a gig—which basically feels like half my monthly bill—or will it actually recognize that I've been doing its job for over a year now?..😕

..so what's the move? skip it, trash this junk entirely, or just jump ship to Linux Mint?😕

A week isn't trash😁
just run both, Windows and Mint, at the same time😉

I'm with him on that one. 👍

If you need something to actually watch things, I'd suggest this player for HD movies, though honestly, I just use it for everything 👍
