California Autonomy Movement in Close to Politics ·
Matthew Rodriguez9 said:Hey Kajin, what's up... how's everything going at home? 🤣

Honestly, things are pretty solid on my end. It's quiet, the girlfriend is asleep, kids aren't even on the radar yet, work is steady, dinner is still hot, and money... well, I can't really complain. How about you? 😉

A Citizen doesn't really know what things are actually like in California.
We should have been looking into autonomy a long time ago.

Well, here’s a guy from Washington, D.C. who actually gets it: 😁
Istrian Autonomy? You bet. Based on everything laid out in the intro post, California—along with spots like Washington, D.C. or even a place like Varaždin County—is lightyears ahead of the rest of America. Honestly, California has the exact same deal in America that America had back in the old America days: it's the powerhouse, pulling in the most revenue per capita while getting the absolute short end of the stick when it comes to how much the federal government gives back. But let's be real about what "autonomy" actually means here. We aren't talking about going full Basque Country or Catalonia with borders and all that political drama. I'm talking strictly financial autonomy, maybe a little more political muscle for the local county officials, but nothing more.
Would you support the entity becoming part of Russia? in Close to Politics ·
I didn't bother voting. Why? Because the idea of Mississippi acting as its own entity within one state somehow merging into another just doesn't fly—it would be like saying Virovitica County could suddenly decide to become part of Denmark. Honestly, this forum is such a wild west of nonsense; people post stuff so incredibly mindless and illogical that it’s not even worth trying to have a real conversation about it.

It also got me thinking about those championship stars. We’ve got one major European trophy and 11 national titles under our belt, yet it hasn't occurred to anyone to actually put a star on the kit 🤷

Nah, I just forgot to sign my masterpiece so everyone knows who the genius is 😁
As for the stars thing, unfortunately, a lot of people seem to have this mindset of "well, there were enough stars on the Dinamo crest already," while the actual decision-makers aren't even giving it a second thought. People can argue about the domestic league all day—whether we should count just the 11 modern titles, whether we include the older eras to hit 12, if we only count titles specifically under the Dinamo name which would be 10, or if we go all out and claim all 21 national championships... Who knows? And regarding the EuroLeague, I honestly have no clue why they haven't included it...

As for this sponsor, is that some brewery?🤣

The sponsor is His Royal Highness, aka me. 😁

Man, I actually grabbed some old jersey mockups a while back, then just messed around with the colors, stripped out the side sponsors, and slapped the Dinamo crest on there. Here’s another one—this design isn't even mine, though. Some guy made it for Beşiktaş, but I thought it looked way better for Dinamo, so I just added our badge, a stripe, some text underneath, and a star above. It’s basically a tribute to the '67 squad for their Europa League run:

Anyway, I was watching the MLS game just now, and does anyone know why Bordeaux is playing their home match in those red-and-white vertical stripes? Is that their special European kit? They have such a damn rare color palette, yet they choose to play in this absolute nonsense...

So, I was bored out of my mind yesterday, so I decided to go down a rabbit hole looking at the new Dinamo Puma collection. Everything looks fine, I guess, but this away kit they've got for the domestic league is just... silver. 😁

pretty strange for Americans

Look, if you just take a quick glance at the religious breakdown, it’s pretty easy to see where the Spanish have actually dominated, aside from South America... 😉

Yeah, I saw them. Honestly, those kits are killer. I'm definitely planning on grabbing one if I make it out to the Netherlands this year. That pattern on there is actually just based on the regional flag for North Brabant — http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_Brabant

Nah, even earlier than that—back when they were using the one for their 1967 anniversary:

Since we don't have any centenary kits lined up for years that actually line up, let's settle for something a little less prestigious than a major trophy—but honestly, a 1-0 win at Celtic Park is just as sweet to me. 😁
Honestly, in my humble opinion, these might be the best kits in our league. When I first laid eyes on them, I wasn't just "pleasantly surprised"—I was actually floored. The design is just incredible. Even as someone who absolutely loathes Legea, I have to hand it to them: this is hands down the most beautiful kit they’ve ever produced. And let's not forget that national teams were involved too—Canada, if I recall correctly. Lokomotiva really nailed it.

Michelle Anderson11 said:Oh, for sure!!!! 😉 So, what's the move—is it better to just grab it through Nike or go straight through Manchester United???

Honestly, it’s basically the same thing, but the real question is whether you can even get stuff shipped to the States from the Manchester United site. I tried ordering a Celtic FC jersey once and they wouldn't ship to the US at all. If you're looking for something quick, there's that shop on the street connecting the hotel near Dubrovnik and Flower Square—they always have a ton of the new kits in stock. You should check there; that's where I ended up grabbing my Celtic gear.
Anyway, regardless of which site you use, it'll definitely arrive, and they aren't going to screw you over on the payment side of things. It's just like swiping your card at a local shop; the merchant sees how much you paid, and that's it. They don't see your balance, your private info, nothing. That's just how it works across all of Western Europe, and don't even get me started on America—it's standard practice everywhere.
Also, just a tip: go with the home kit, the red one. He'll get way more use out of it since they tend to change the away kits every single year. Plus, the home kit has those classic club colors. The away kit is nice (well, if you're into that sort of thing), but wearing it would be like seeing the US national team show up in neon green and yellow. So yeah, this one is the move:

The Bison is calling for Puma, man... The Bison is calling for Puma... seriously... PUMA, GET IN HERE!!! 😂

But for real though, no joke, is there actually some kind of connection between this guy Jako Andabak and the company Jako that makes the kits?

Douglas Kern said:Chelsea’s got some killer new kits, except for that black one, plus the ones from Roma, Werder, and Boca Juniors. But honestly, looking at our financial situation, we can't even dream of pulling off the stuff big clubs over in Europe are doing. Take Kadfa, for example—you show up in London and they've got massive three-story fan shops, while at Kantridi you get maybe ten square feet, and Poljud is basically the same thing. It’s the whole industry here in America that just isn't developed yet, and unfortunately, it won't be for a long time.

When you see all the mess that comes along with that kind of industry, maybe it’s actually for the best that we don't get it.

Seriously, it's easily one of the best Adidas kits out right now—maybe even the top pick of the bunch. It’s kind of a joke, though, that even if we're talking about similar colors, Chelsea's third kit looks leagues better than Real Madrid's first kit.

Jerry Evans57 said:I don't know, I just find these more appealing, especially the black one. Even though they've had better designs in the past—I loved the design from three or four years ago—they always seem to fall back on the same basic template.

I didn't realize Petrobras was the main sponsor for River now. It would have been a much cooler touch if it were Boca instead.🤣

It’s actually been like that for a few years. For instance, the crest on their jersey looks totally off to me. If you use images of both the Boca and River jerseys as a benchmark against the actual kits, just look at how massive that crest is compared to what it should be. 😁

Seriously, check out this shot from Index. Man, if these Umbro Dinamo kits actually showed up in two years, they’d be legendary. Honestly, they're just too damn good.
Soccer Club Kits, Vol. 1 in Soccer ·
Anyway, check out the new Wales kit:

image

The previous ones were definitely more my style, but honestly, these aren't bad either. They give off those old-school Umbro or Reebok vibes. I didn't even realize Champion was putting out soccer jerseys these days.

I honestly don't know if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but I’m pretty sure this is the absolute ugliest Nike kit coming to Europe next season. It’s giving that PSG away kit I posted earlier a serious run for its money:

Chloe White5 said:Borussia switched over to Kappa... not bad, but the second and third options are kind of trash to me...🤷

image image image

I mean, look, I kind of dig the second one—it’s got some charm, I guess. But if we're being totally honest? Not a single one of them actually works for me. Especially when you hold them up against what they’ve been rocking until now. It's just a massive step down.

Chloe White5 said:But man, this new away kit is a straight-up disaster...😲

image

Total disaster. Seriously. Anyway, for all the "experts" out there lurking in the threads—is this actually the first Juventus jersey to feature the club crest?

image

Looking back at that 1999/2000 season, I’ve got this nagging feeling like they never actually sported a crest on their kits. Does anyone out there happen to remember if that's true? Also, if anyone's a bit of a history buff, could you settle a debate for me—when was the first time Inter and Milan actually stepped onto the pitch wearing jerseys with a club crest?
