Philosophy of Freedom in Close to Politics ·
Solid read. People will only achieve true freedom once they're liberated from the oppression and violence of the state.
Richard Wilson4 said:Personally, I’d just make it a condition that she recognizes Israel first, just like all the other countries in the area.

The PLO basically recognized Israel through the Oslo agreements anyway. Honestly, those kinds of declarations don't mean much in the long run—they can be walked back whenever. What actually matters is stabilizing the situation.
So, what kind of election are we talking about here? Voting for Miss Saudi Arabia? That's wild.

So, what would you guys even do? Tear down the graves?

Only small-minded people waste their energy on stuff like this.
The All-American Graveyard: What's the problem this time? in Close to Politics ·
An American grave—brrr, that sounds incredibly morbid. Like they want to cram the whole damn country inside.
Germany and its Americans in Close to Politics ·
I read the article and honestly, I don't see anything scandalous about it. The guy is just being perfectly reasonable.

You and everyone else like you would be better off letting go of those wild conspiracy theories and just facing reality.

Americans call it a culture war.

Back in the nineties, it felt like Santa Claus had been pushed aside to make room for some more aggressive version of Santa Claus. Hardline Catholics were even bringing up Baby Jesus. But it turns out Santa Claus is tougher than anyone gave him credit for, and he’s managed to push both of them right back out. Now, he's pretty much running the show on his own.

Santa Claus 👍
Our language definitely carries more weight than that. We have well over 7 million speakers backing it up. 😉

Why does it feel like you guys don't all see eye-to-eye on the new churches being built here in the States?

Progress and secularization, apparently—but only when it's happening in our neighbors' backyard. 🙄

vividrider3 said:Judaism was the first monotheistic religion, and Christianity emerged from it. The first Christians were Jews. Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, Joseph, Moses, and all the saints we Christians pray to were all Jewish. So I'll ask you again: what exactly is so idiotic about the term Judeo-Christian civilization?

You rarely hear that phrase outside of American Christian right-wing circles, and honestly, they mostly just spout nonsense. Most of Europe and North America belong to Western civilization, which isn't solely defined by Christianity and Judaism.

vividrider3 said:Who even talks about bringing democracy🙄 to Yemen? The USA and Europe have zero interest in that wasteland. They'll just send some UCAVs to tidy things up on the ground, and that’s it. Take out a few Yemeni extremists and call it a day. Muslims don't hate the West primarily because we support everything they despise: individual freedom without the fear of being stoned or decapitated, secular democratic states, and above all, nations built upon Judeo-Christian civilization.

🙄
That's an idiot expression pushed by the American Christian right. Can you name even one single country founded on "Judeo-Christian civilization"?
It’s pretty worrying to see the US sliding back into those old Bush-era policies. This election cycle, we're seeing a massive surge in nationalist and religious political movements.

Europe really needs to focus on unifying its global strategy—something that fell apart back in 2003 when Britain sided with the US during the Iraq war.

Why? I'm out of the loop on this one.
I don't feel personally robbed. But they’ve absolutely wrecked this country.

Bill Clinton described them perfectly back then—just a party with dangerous intentions.
Nothing new here, just the same old bullshit. They claim "Za dom spremni" isn't an issue because they're distancing themselves from fascism, but they aren't actually distancing themselves from the Nazis. Lately, it's been getting harder and harder to even say that phrase without feeling sick. I really wonder what he'd say if someone asked him straight up whether he considers Nazi ideology to be part of fascism too.
