Roger Wright94 said:So, the real issue here is that Alonso actually managed to make it into the Third Qualifying Session.

Of course it’s a problem when you're looking at a double scam.
Qualifying was halted just because Alonso spun out on track, and there is zero chance he would have reached the Third Qualifying Session if Charlie hadn't played favorites with Ferrari—not to mention that whole yellow flag nonsense.

Total clown show. With those FIA decisions, Sauber basically got robbed blind.

The later PP was just a result of that, and they earned it fairly enough, proving Ferrari actually has pace. But let's be real: in that Third Qualifying Session, it shouldn't have been Alonso, Massa, Michael Schumacher, Ayrton Senna, or Pastor Maldonado.
Even in the First Qualifying Session, drivers were spinning off everywhere and nobody thought to stop the session. It’s all just protecting the big teams. Pure arrogance.

Douglas Parker61 said:That’s what they told you on CBS. You can set a personal best under a yellow flag, just not in the specific sector where the flag is out. Alonso lost a ton of time in the final sector—or, as CBS put it, he didn't get a green sector, which basically means he slowed down. Nothing controversial there. If anything, they were surprised Jenson Button didn't run into the same issue.

Yeah, right.🤣
Saying someone slowed down just because they didn't hit a green sector? Please.🤣
Real proof that a driver slowed down comes from looking at the telemetry, not some color-coded sector chart.

CBS gave a solid explanation, but the truth is the teams just don't want to drive in the rain.
It’s not like they can't just pick up their cars and fix the wet track issue themselves—it's just that they don't want to.

Anyway, I'm still waiting for some news about Alonso getting penalized.🤷
Who even is this kid, and since when is it okay to set a Q3 time under yellow flags???
Button gets knocked out in the First Qualifying Session because of a yellow flag caused by a car spinning off right after the start-finish line, meanwhile Alonso sets his fastest lap in the Second Qualifying Session and nobody says a word.😕

What kind of joke is this? What on earth is the FIA doing?🙄

hollowhawk412 said:And your guy Vettel said stopping qualifying was the right call...

So what does it actually matter what he or anyone else said?

hollowhawk412 said:If we have to save Sergio Perez by making sure Fernando Alonso and someone else don't get decent runs, then he doesn't deserve pole anyway.

Yeah, right. By that logic, if Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Romain Grosjean, or whoever wins pole doesn't deserve it because Jenson Button didn't get a chance, then nobody deserves anything.🙄

It doesn't matter who said what. It’s simple: certain drivers nailed their window to hit the track and the right tires.
Whoever timed it right should get rewarded; everyone else just misses out.☕

And if people say Alonso didn't get a fair shot, it's not his fault he went out on intermediates.
Or maybe you think Sergio Perez is to blame because Ferrari decided to gamble and sent their guys out on inters while the rest of the grid did something else.

Nice 🤣
Two red cars spin out like prima donnas and suddenly we’re waving red flags everywhere. 🙄

If this keeps up, McLaren needs to file a massive lawsuit against Charlie and the FIA. ☕
Perez and McLaren played their tactics perfectly and earned that point. Denying them a shot at Qualifying 2 would be a total slap in the face to fair play and the spirit of the sport. Punish Charlie Whiting. 🙄

But nothing from CBS. Total bummer.

Honestly, it was a nightmare. Better off finding a satellite dish and sticking to ABC or PBS.
Watching that last one was pure torture, and the audio? Even worse.🙂

Look, despite all the insane expectations flying around, I guess I’m allowed to have a few of my own.😬🤣

I'm betting Driver X finishes ahead of Lewis Hamilton☕
Looks like things have been pretty chaotic here lately.🤦

Alright everyone, this thread is strictly for selecting managers and setting the rules for the 2013 season.😳
Don't waste time here arguing about past managers, who did what, or any other nonsense...

In this thread, candidates need to step up and apply for management positions. Before we vote, you have to lay out the specific rules you plan on enforcing for the championship.
That way, we can actually vote for the most serious candidates based on their actual plans.

Keep the discussions focused on those proposed rules, rather than this year's racing or management styles—you can take all that drama over to this thread.
Matthew Young35 said:I might consider putting my name in the hat, but my rules would look drastically different from the current ones. Honestly, I’m 96.46% certain I wouldn't even make the cut. There’s no point in me applying just to pad out the numbers and ensure a quorum, is there?

You’ve got my vote if it counts for anything.
As far as I can tell, you're the only one who actually bothered to suggest specific rules and a scoring system, which makes you the frontrunner in my book.

I don't see how anyone could vote for someone whose entire platform is basically just "trust me, I'm the best," without offering any actual structure or guidelines.🤷

From a competitor's standpoint, I'd love to see you officially enter and finally get a look at Matthew Young35's rules and scoring system.🙂

No big deal, he’ll have it fixed by the day after tomorrow. For now, he’s just practicing.😁

Pangloss is out, and the 5th reserve, Matthew Young35, is stepping up.

Rosiyev is making the offer, and Matthew Young35, you're the one responding.
Matthew Young35, you can reply to Rosiyev's current offer right now, but if a new one pops up in the meantime, you'll have to deal with that instead.

Look, just let me know if you're even interested in playing in the Super League. If you're passing, I'll give the shot to the 6th reserve, Kimi#1, who's next on the list after you.

I feel bad for swearing at you, but since I'm a mod, I can't actually tell you what I really think.
I truly am sorry...

I wasn't pushing anyone, and I asked several times if someone wanted to step up as host—that request is still sitting right there on the first page of this thread, but clearly, you missed it.
I’m still constantly swapping out Rosiyev, so this attack from you is definitely neither fair nor okay.
If you had stepped up at any point to host the Super League or any other competition last year or this season, I would have gladly handed the reins to you.☕
In fact, I asked you to do it last year, both publicly and via PM, and as far as I'm concerned, the offer still stands.

It's funny how you somehow managed to miss my post from June 11, 2012.
Funny how you didn't volunteer to replace me even though I specifically asked for someone to take over because I barely have the time or energy (I can hardly even get onto the forum) to handle anything regarding the Super League until the VN Germany.

Of course, you don't notice that and you "don't have the time," but you always seem to find the time to jump down a host's throat and praise yourself. Seriously, let go of those old grievances and stop whining about everyone.
Better to focus on making sure these competitions actually run properly instead of just spitting on the hosts.

You could have said this about Pangloss much earlier instead of waiting until the eleventh hour.
If any host screws something up (and in this case, with Pangloss, I obviously screwed up big time), it would be better to own up to it immediately so it can be fixed, rather than waiting until the last second or letting things get worse just so you can trash them and make yourself look like a hero.

Helmut Marko is always whining and talking nonsense; it’s nothing new🤣
Must have been a real struggle for him last year, since he basically had zero reasons to complain about anything😁

🤣🤣🤣

Clearly, Vettel hit the nail right on the head with his comments about Valencia and why Scuderia Ferrari had to pit. It was 100% spot on.
That’s enough to send NASCAR into a complete frenzy.☕

I don't get why everyone is acting like this is some massive scandal when we already know Michael Schumacher basically called out Goodyear for messing around with the tires, or how Lewis Hamilton loudly accused NASCAR of being biased.

Suddenly, it's a huge shocker when a driver who's sitting on a 20-second lead realizes it's sketchy that Scuderia Ferrari has to dive in and stay out for five laps because the track is littered with shredded Goodyear rubber.🙄
Good grief, since when have we not seen piles of discarded Goodyear tires all over the track?🤣

People can talk all they want, but that Safety Car in Valencia was totally unnecessary. We've seen plenty of situations over the last few seasons where there wasn't even a Safety Car, yet those were way more dangerous than this.☕

Since this season has been nothing but pure chaos, I’m basically expecting a total disaster. And in that mess, I wouldn't be surprised to see Felipe Massa, Heikki Kovalainen, and Vitaly Petrov standing on the podium.🤣

Between Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton, Jenson Button, Michael Schumacher, Nico Rosberg, Sebastian Vettel, and Mark Webber... they're all just spinning around the track like absolute rookies.😁

Why don't you just wrap your head around how the Super League leadership works before you try explaining your little rulebook to me?☕

Maybe I messed up by thinking this was a fresh bid for Bahrain, but it looks to me like any offer submitted late (after the first deadline) that goes unanswered just counts as the bid for the next race.
Sure, you can play smart and claim the rules say a new bid happens "after the race," but I’m pretty sure there have been plenty of times where a bid posted after the first deadline was treated as the bid for the next race simply because nobody responded. There have even been cases where people were told a driver "can't" submit a new bid because the one sitting between the first deadline and qualifying was already considered their official bid for the next round.
I could go digging for proof, but honestly, I can't be bothered.
At the end of the day, none of this matters to you anyway, regardless of who said what or when they said it.

The rulebook has always been flawed and full of loopholes—it’s not like we haven't known that until now.
Every single competition and every season is packed with nonsense because of these "intellectual" types who ensure there's a sea of ambiguity everywhere you look.

And it’s the same old story every season: wondering what on earth Max was thinking when he wrote these rules. Max is nowhere to be found when things actually matter, but he sure shows up right on cue after the fact to lecture everyone with his "wisdom."

Where were you before all this went down? If you’re so convinced Pat should have been disqualified earlier, why didn't you demand it then?🤷
Where were you if consistency is such a big deal and if this whole thing is such a total disaster?
Reddit F1 Super League 2012 in Formula 1 ·
Look, Edward Howard2, I’ll give you this: you did write some absolutely ridiculous and incredibly crappy rules in certain sections.
But honestly, trying to change them right in the middle of the championship—or even worse, halfway through Race 2—wouldn't make any sense at all.

Pat's offer counts for Bahrain because it was sent too late (past the deadline) and nobody bothered to reply to it in Malaysia.
As for that totally nonsensical rule you cooked up about there being a deadline for sending predictions that actually isn't a deadline...🙄well, don't blame me for that one.

If Ferk had actually responded to that offer, it would have been the offer for Malaysia. But since it was sent after the deadline and went unanswered, it officially became the offer for Bahrain.
Even if she had sent a brand-new offer for Bahrain, people would just start nitpicking, claiming it was an "edit" or a second prediction for Bahrain, and then you'd be back to whining about irregularities.
If I had given Pat a 15-0 win on that offer just because Ferk didn't respond, you'd claim I broke your stupid rule and try to penalize Ferk—even though, by your own rules, she should get the 15-0 because the offer was late and she wasn't even online between the offer being sent and the response deadline.

Seriously, this whole "deep analysis" of yours is hilarious, especially considering we're talking about an ultra-stupid rule that YOU wrote.🙄
Proposal accepted.
Registration deadline extended to August 30, 2012.

Terry Carter2 - please coordinate with Paska and draft the rulebook you guys plan on using to run the championship.
darkmarlin16 - please send over your proposed rules for running the championship.

Edward Howard2 could probably sign up himself—why don't you show us how good you actually are at managing things?😉
