Pros and Cons of Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 ·
🤦

Is Fernando Alonso losing his mind or what?
Someone please explain to me when on earth a McLaren was ever worse than a Toro Rosso. 🙂
And since when was STR a car capable of consistently grabbing 6th place? 🤣

If this is actually a direct quote from him, then 🤦 he’s clearly high on something.
Look, I get that fans talk nonsense, but having a NASCAR driver spout this kind of stupidity is just baffling. 🤷

I'm desperately hoping this is just some fabrication by those Spanish journalists, or maybe just some terrible translation job by our local media.

I have a Dell laptop with a 15.4-inch screen; it works fine, and I don't plan on replacing it until it dies. This means any image larger than 800 pixels distorts my monitor 😉

Right, totally forgot about those😳

I've got an old 14 or 15-inch laptop lying around somewhere too.
Haven't used it much lately, but I don't recall any major issues with images🤷
Pretty sure the resolution was 1400x1050 🤔

Look, the proof is right in front of you: the absolute cheapest monitors on the market are those tiny 19-inch models with a pathetic 1366x768 resolution, going for maybe $500-$200. Meanwhile, you can snag your first Full HD 1920x1080 screen for under $233, and it’s still just a 19-inch display.

Finding anything smaller than 19 inches is a total nightmare. Even if you actually track one down, it'll probably cost more than the 19-inch version and look like garbage because of the low resolution. Honestly, I don't think anyone in their right mind would even bother buying one.

So, it's pretty obvious: 19 inches is basically the floor now. It’s highly unlikely we'll see many new monitors hitting the shelves that are any smaller than that.
Interesting stuff. Out of 88 NASCAR races, Lewis Hamilton has been involved in 37 incidents.😳

I didn't bother checking every single one on the list, but I counted 37 races in this table. That's a massive number, honestly.😲
steelmaker83 said:Felipe Massa was on his line. What a pathetic move. Hamilton just charged in like an idiot, Massa didn't budge, and they collided.

Why should Massa have moved? Hamilton didn't even get halfway alongside the car. Who does Hamilton think he is, thinking everyone has to clear the track for him?.......

Look, Hamilton's a racer, but this isn't a video game. In his head, he’s still driving go-karts. The guy just never grew up for F1.

The saddest part? His rookie season was actually his best. It's been downhill ever since. Honestly, what he's shown lately is more suited for NASCAR. That's the truth......

All five points are spot on, but you can see in the footage that Massa looks over at him a few times and keeps heading right for him, knowing a crash is coming.

I think that's the main reason for the penalty.

The only thing I disagree with is if he actually intended to do it—because if he did, he botched it. If you're going to ram someone, you do it so Hamilton gets forced off the track or you both go out. You don't just let Hamilton walk away clean.

Like a Button style 🙂
That would have been the proper way to handle Hamilton's stupidity.

Interesting stuff. Webber thinks Massu shouldn't have been penalized.

Looking at the actual move, I'm with him—but let's be real, it still looks like Massu was intentionally cutting him off to force a wreck. Then again, Hamilton drove into him like a total amateur.🤷

What a clickbait headline 🤣

That sentence makes zero sense paired with Jenson Button in the same article. If it were Mark Webber, maybe I'd buy it, 🤣but definitely not with him.
Maria Lopez said:😁

I actually like him.

😲

Off to check if my wife left her laptop open in the living room.🤣

Maria Lopez said:😁
He can have great takes and he definitely knows his stuff, unlike half the people on this forum, ☕but there are some topics where you just shouldn't argue with him because he'll absolutely crush you. Amen. 🙂😳😁

🤣

Not totally, just a little.😬
Maria Lopez said:Oh sure... just happened by accident, right? Just totally out of nowhere. 😁

Not gonna waste my breath arguing with you, sorry.

Of course it wasn't an accident. Last year, the team basically let them run wild, and it was pure stupidity—not just from Webber's side, but Vettel's too.☕

You can let them drive how you want, but when your two drivers are constantly shoving each other at the start and bumping wheels mid-race, you're running an amateur outfit. That's amateur hour.

They're throwing points away and flushing all that money and effort spent on the car and the crew straight down the drain.
If those guys at Red Bull Racing actually used their heads last year, both Alonso and McLaren would have been right in the thick of the title fight.

Maybe watching idiots crash into each other is entertaining for us, but teams care about winning and money. They don't care about us laughing while two morons wreck their cars on track.
Maria Lopez said:@ tbfd, if you could just set aside your fanboy emotions for a second and be even slightly consistent with your takes and logic, you'd realize this is how it is. I'm certain about it. 🙂

But unfortunately, you just can't manage that.

Seriously, if you think Mark Webber is out there covering Sebastian Vettel's back, you need glasses.

Another thing is that Mark Webber is clearly struggling, and he isn't aggressively attacking like he did last year—that much is obvious. ☕
He’s probably having such a garbage season because of it. 🤷

So the question is: is Mark Webber this slow and bad because Sebastian Vettel is just that much faster, leaving him in the dust, or is Red Bull Racing holding him back from being just as quick?
I don't know what you think, but to me, it looks like it's the first one.

Anyway, I can't remember a single race where Mark Webber held off a direct rival instead of just babysitting Sebastian Vettel. Name one. Just one.
Maria Lopez said:Look,
the reality is Mark Webber is just protecting Fettel's pace, and he's totally accepted that this is how things are from here on out.
That's why he isn't making such a huge scene anymore.😬🤣

But man, if Alonso hadn't completely tanked his plan, we'd be talking about a totally different story right now.🙂

Exactly.🙂 😁

Mark Webber is basically acting as a shield for Vettel against a dangerous Massa.🤣

And apparently, Massa and Lewis Hamilton just live for the spotlight.🤷 They probably act like idiots on purpose just so the media won't stop talking about them.
Mark Ruiz8 said:The highlight of the race was definitely Mr. Bean's reaction to the crash.
That's about it for the race...

Spot on.

This could actually be a decent track, but all that damn dust just ruins the whole thing.🙄
Edward Howard2 said:what a load of nonsense... 🤣

it’s pretty obvious here... Felipe Massa was on his line, and this guy just plowed right into him.

Massa hit Lewis Hamilton on purpose.☕

If you watch the replay on the BBC, it's crystal clear. He looked over at Lewis a few times, even right before the turn, and he was literally staring him down when he made contact.🤣

The reason for the penalty is beyond obvious.☕

If there was any valid reason for a penalty this season, it was this incident.

As much as I wanted to see Lewis get screwed over again,😬
the call was totally right.

The FIA is being ridiculous. 🤣

Daniel Ricciardo qualified 21st, but gets a 5-place penalty, so he's starting 22nd.🤣 🤣 🤣
What is CNN even rambling about? They’re actually suggesting Jenson Button could get penalized for his lap times under yellow flags. Seriously? Just because of that Mass mess.

As if that wasn't enough.🙂

The start has absolutely nothing to do with qualifying.🤣

So, here's what we've got so far:
Hamilton finished P3. Not bad.
Perez takes 3rd.
Vitaly Petrov - 5th place.
Ricciardo finished 5th.

Anything else?🤷
Drew Bennett68 said:He struggles to stay locked in for long stretches. Focus drifts. His mind wanders... which is a massive problem when you're strapped into a cockpit and things are happening at 200 mph.
It was meant to be a joke, but hey, you never know...

Hmm, I remember hearing on NBC during some practice sessions that he had vision issues—like, tunnel vision where he can only see straight ahead and misses everything happening in his periphery. Honestly, I was convinced they were just messing around or cooking up some insane excuses.🤣

But who knows? Maybe there's actually something to it.🤷
Chris Ortiz said:So that's it then? Everything's decided?

It’s going to be a little depressing watching that kind of talent constantly stuck around 10th place, but hey, who knows, maybe the folks at Williams will actually come up with something.

Kimi in a Williams... honestly, that sounds like a blast to watch.🙂

It'll be way more interesting seeing him scrap it out with Kobayashi, Kubica, Senna, Perez, Di Rest, Sutil, and the rest of that mid-field pack, or maybe even catching a glimpse of him battling Rosberg and Schumacher.
Much better than watching him just cruise around solo in a Mercedes where he isn't passing anyone and nobody behind him can even touch him.

So yeah, I'm actually looking forward to those duels and battles. I think there could be some serious fun to be had there.🙂
I just hope the TV directors actually catch the action.
It’s pretty wild how Rubens ended up in teams that were winning championships either while he was behind the wheel or right after he left. Even his old stomping grounds at Stewart eventually turned into Jaguar, which paved the way for the current Red Bull dominance in Formula 1.😁

Basically, from the moment he moved on from Stewart to that Ferrari 2000 era all the way to today, the teams—or whoever took over their reins—that Rubinho drove for have racked up 9 world titles.😲

Then you look at his time with Honda (counting Brawn), where he spent four seasons. First year was meh, second was a disaster, third was okay, and then they grabbed a title—just not for him.
Same deal at Williams: first year was alright, second was a total wreck, third was probably just okay again, and then they snagged the 2013 championship, but once again, not for him.😬

8 is your issue🤣

I’d honestly be fine even if the race started at 3:00 AM.😁
Grand Prix of Japan (Indianapolis) 10/09/2011 in Formula 1 ·
So the plan was basically to chase them down and lap them? Using it like that feels pretty stupid, but hey, if that’s how they want to play it.

I honestly missed that detail earlier. I was busy digging around for info on that new contract😁, then I stumbled onto this video and it actually caught me off guard.

All in all, the clip is way too short to really make sense of what happened or why, but the one thing that’s totally nonsensical is that you can just use DRS whenever you want, regardless of whether you've already lapped the driver before the activation zone.

It’s just plain ridiculous.🙄

I don't think Vettel lost anything because of this. Even if Red Bull had let him go, he probably would've just overtaken Alonso on the next lap or ended up in a wreck anyway.🤣

Regardless, that specific rule is just dumb.🙂
