Student Loans in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Brian Martinez7 said:Thanks so much! 👍

Do you happen to know which email address I should use? Or, you know, which bank is actually the best bet for that kind of student cost-of-living loan?

I'm not really sure where the cheapest options are, so it might be best to just drop by a few local branches because they'll probably be happy to put together a custom offer for you.
Of course, you'll likely need someone to co-sign or act as a guarantor for you—like a sibling or a parent, or maybe even a friend—someone who has a steady, full-time job.
Goldman Sachs seems to have quite a few offers geared toward students, including consumer loans, and almost everyone else like the Federal Reserve, JP Morgan Chase, or Bank of America usually has something similar for basic living costs too.
Maybe there's some info on their websites about interest rates and other terms if you want to do a little bit of reading first.

Good luck!

It sounds like you're looking into a student loan to help cover your living expenses.
Maybe try sending an email over to the bank to see what they say, because you might be able to set everything up now, though I guess you wouldn't actually see the cash until the school year kicks off in October.
JPMorgan Chase also offers consumer loans specifically for students, so it might be worth checking that out if you find yourself needing the money right away.
Building a new morgue in Real Estate ·
Around my neck of the woods, they actually tucked the morgue right into the middle of the hospital complex in downtown Chicago, and they even used this old historic Victorian mansion for it!
So, when you’re heading into the hospital and pass the security gate and the ramp toward the ER, you’ll see the maternity ward sitting on your left and the morgue just sitting there on your right. 😕🤷 It feels like such a weird irony, I guess, if you think about it.
And then, right across the street from the morgue, you’ve got an elementary school and a daycare, along with all these nice private houses and apartments.
Intel Visa in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I'm not really sure, I tried setting it up on PayPal but I guess it just wouldn't work for some reason.
Meanwhile, my JPMorgan Chase card seems to go through everywhere without any issues at all.

I'm not entirely sure where you'll find the absolute lowest interest rates, but I think Goldman Sachs offers pretty great deals on their student loan packages, so maybe check out their website or just shoot them an email to be safe.
The Federal Reserve also has some options for tuition loans—though they don't really cover living expenses—but I guess that's only available for certain universities they have agreements with.
As for the other banks, I honestly don't know, so you might want to just browse through their individual websites since everything should be listed there.

I guess those Microsoft cards from JPMorgan Chase or Bank of America sometimes struggle with online payments, so they might not go through.
If you happen to have a Microsoft card from Wells Fargo or Citigroup, though, those usually work just fine.
Maybe you could try opening a foreign currency account at a place like Wells Fargo and putting a little bit of cash in there, then you'd probably get a Microsoft card that works perfectly.

It's funny how every parent treats their kid like some kind of prodigy the second they learn to walk or figure out how to crawl into a crib—but as soon as they grow up, suddenly the kid is incompetent and needs constant supervision for every little thing. ☕

I’m dealing with the exact same mess as the OP—this hyper-possessive mother who tries to micromanage every single corner of my life. She has to control everything, she has to know everything... she acts like I'm a total moron while she's the absolute genius who knows everything there is to know. She nitpicks just for the sake of it, giving me instructions on stuff like how to open a window—as if I've never seen a window before—and when I finally snap and tell her to back off with all the nonsense, she throws a massive tantrum and somehow makes *me* look like the one with mental issues...

The kicker? I don't have a job or any income right now, so moving out isn't even an option.

For example, when I was taking my driver's test about six or seven years ago—and I passed, paid for everything, and even bought my own car without any help—it was such a shock to him, like, how is it even possible that I have something he doesn't, or that I could actually succeed on my own? It just didn't seem normal to him...

Welcome to the club!
I'm not sure how old you are, but I'm guessing you're still pretty young, so maybe try to stay positive, because I suppose an opportunity for freedom will come along sooner or later.
Leg hair concerns in Health ·
I honestly don't get why people worry about being hairless, because I've been dealing with my own body hair situation for like fifteen years now, and it gets so thick and curly that I practically have to trim it down with a clipper just to stay sane, especially since it gets so incredibly hot during the summer months,
and it’s honestly the worst when you step out of the ocean and everything just sticks to your skin, which is so gross, I kind of wish it would all just fall off overnight! 👍😁
And I'm sure some attractive person is going to jump in here and claim that it actually looks super hot and sexy... 😍
@igor.30,
I’ve been reading through your story, and I honestly can't believe the kind of people you had to deal with or how they treated their own kids; it’s just heartbreaking that you went through all of that, so I really hope you find some peace and happiness with your young family, because you truly deserve it.
After everything that happened, I guess your parents don't even deserve a simple hello from you, and I have so much respect for your wife for sticking by you through all those years.🙏
Male chest issues: What's going on? in Health ·
John Travolta, take a look at OVDJE because if you read through that first post, I think you might find some links to exercises that could really help with what you're going through.

Maybe you could try some classic stuff like sit-ups and push-ups to see how that feels.

Maybe you could try some chest exercises, or I guess you could always go see a top-tier plastic surgeon to get their professional take on things.

Good luck!

I'm not quite sure how old you are, but if you're still growing, I guess you might be able to fix things with some posture correctors or something like that since people have talked about that before, though personally, I don't think it's such a huge deal, maybe just start running or working out to tone up your chest and stomach, and honestly, if you head down to the beach, you'll probably see plenty of other young people who look just like you, so it really isn't as bad as you might feel it is right now.
Commuting to work by bike in Cycling ·
Back when I was in my early twenties, I used to ride my bike to work every single day..
I’m talking about an 8-mile commute to the next town over, though I don't really do that much anymore because, honestly, I tend to sweat like crazy even when it's freezing out, so I usually end up feeling pretty gross and soaked by the time I get to the office or head home.
But if you have the chance, I guess you should absolutely go for it! 👍
How can I improve my cardio/stamina? in Hobbies & Leisure ·
frozenowl10 said:Do you think doing stuff like push-ups or sit-ups at home might help me get better cardio? I was thinking maybe those kinds of exercises could work...

I guess those are more for building muscle, which I suppose isn't really a bad thing to do.
But if you're looking to boost your endurance, I'd probably suggest just sticking to running—or even just walking really, really fast—and just trying to get as many miles in as possible.
Laser hair removal for men in Health ·
Thanks so much for the heads-up, I was actually wondering about this because my neck and shoulders have been acting up lately, so hopefully it turns out to be more affordable. I happen to have health insurance through Gap, and since I see they're one of their partners, maybe I could get a discount on the total cost.

Thanks again!

So, I guess you went all together four times, just once every month?

@analoghound2, I'm guessing you probably did that at their main branch in Washington, D.C., since I think they have clinics out in Seattle and Miami too.
How much did the treatment end up costing you?
Maybe you could just shoot me a private message if that's easier.

How to calculate my ideal body weight? in Health ·

Estimate: You're slightly overweight! Lose a little weight! (I¤F)

I was thinking maybe someone wants to join me for a duathlon—you know, some running and cycling—and I suppose it might be even better if some cute girl leads the way just to keep us motivated 😁 🤣
Replacing my eyeglass lenses in Health ·
Oh, it should definitely be possible, though I guess it gets a little tricky if you end up breaking the frame while trying to keep the glass intact, because then finding a matching frame that fits perfectly might be a bit of a headache.
I actually had the glass replaced on my old window frame just before last summer without any issues at all, and the whole thing ended up costing me about $267 for both the glass and the labor.
How to find out your blood type? in Health ·
I guess he’s been lost for at least ten years now, ever since back when they didn't even know what a computer was at the local clinic, and I remember being sent all over to dig through the old files at the community health center, but we never really found anything, and then they just started a whole new system without any of those important old records that probably just vanished into thin air somewhere along the way...

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Does anyone happen to have a recommendation for a good general practitioner over in San Francisco?
I guess I’m officially retired now, and my new doctor just isn't really my cup of tea, plus her office is a bit of a trek from where I live, especially since I was seeing my old doctor for almost 20 years...
