Totally unrelated to the main topic, but the title here actually took me way back... like, more than 30 years ago when I used to hit up the local library to rent books like the Tribunes' history of pornography of course
Naturally, I figured it would follow the "nomen est omen" rule—you know, where the name says it all—and expected the whole thing to be just about smutty stuff. But if I recall correctly, the actual plot had absolutely nothing to do with what the title suggested🤣🤣🤦
It kind of reminds me of those modern clickbait headlines you see online today... they’re specifically crafted just to force you to click through to an article because the actual point is being intentionally hidden from the headline itself🙄
I’m no film critic, but since this is a forum, I'll keep my thoughts brief...
First off, I only sat down to watch this because of some posts on this thread. I tend to fall into that camp where I think the phrase "a good American film" is basically an oxymoron😁. Sadly, this movie just reinforced that belief for me🤦
Regarding the acting, Lucev is pretty standard... the mother feels unfinished, the daughter is cute but lacks any real depth, and the wealthy guy isn't worth mentioning
The characters are totally confused, poorly developed, and just... unclear. For instance, the father is portrayed through this predictable stereotype of a stubborn, old-school guy from the South who's just looking for an easy way to make a buck without working for it. Of course, because he's so stubborn, the director thought adding violence would fit perfectly too. But once we saw those first two shots, she really should have stopped there. Instead, I spent most of the film sitting there in this uneasy dread🙄 that eventually, a scene was coming where the father—probably drunk and under the influence of a high ABV in some dive bar—would raise his hand to the little girl. In a way, that's exactly what happened when he isolated her in that cell. It makes you question the logic of his character and the contradictions involved. I mean, how likely is it that someone like him—a pragmatic, hard-nosed guy who's willing to sink everything into a deal just to secure an inheritance—would punch a wealthy man and ruin all his life plans just because of something the girl did? In the real world, that's a huge stretch...
Furthermore, I don't get why the director felt the need to artificially force this non-existent sex appeal onto the daughter, who, realistically, could only be seen as "sexy" by some kid her own age. Setting aside the fact that she isn't even particularly attractive, especially in the face, despite having a decent figure... the girl is angry from the start and pushes back against everything, yet the film tries to portray her as this childish, gullible, naive teenager, which is just what a teen is. So, where's the sex appeal?? Even if she were much more physically beautiful, sex appeal should be about so much more than that
To wrap up that point regarding the director's baffling intentions—and I'm certainly no puritan—that scene where they almost zoom in on her camel toe was just unnecessary, over the top, and tasteless
Finally, the thing that really pushed me over the edge was seeing the main soap mogul, Milan Štrljić, appearing in that shot during the land negotiations. Haven't they made enough money off soaps already??
In conclusion, the only good part for me was the final scene, or rather, the message the director intended to send, provided I didn't misinterpret it
Specifically, I took the daughter showing up at the pier the next morning, during the usual daylight hours, as a sign that after a sleepless night, she finally realized that family is all you really have. Also, if I caught correctly what Lucev was saying in their final dialogue, he was trying to let her know that everything except family is deceptive and fleeting. To me, it felt like a clear allusion to, on one hand, the wealthy families who come and go, and on the other, the family that stays put
Anyway, to sum it all up, it was all too poorly done for me, even by the standards of low-budget American cinema. But hey, like I said, I'm just a layman when it comes to movies...
It was pretty dull... honestly, everything except Lawrence's acting in *Memento*...
It isn't some semifinal curse we're dealing with, just a bad coach, simple as that.

I've run into a bit of a snag... I just finished installing Windows 8 Office 2007 on my machine. But when I head over to Program Files to look for Office 2007, things seem a little off. Instead of finding winword.exe right there, I'm seeing this subfolder labeled 1033, and it looks completely empty inside... So, does anyone know where winword.exe actually ended up?

Yeah, it's true that the actual bodily injury payout usually waits until treatment wraps up—you know, when it's clear if there's permanent disability involved. If there's no disability, you aren't getting a payout on those grounds, just maybe some reimbursement for lost wages while you were stuck in the hospital or nursing costs and whatnot. But honestly? Nothing stops you from reaching out to the other person's insurance company immediately.
See, an accident report isn't actually meant to determine fault... that's just not within the scope of what highway patrol officers do at the scene. They just document the raw facts of what happened during the crash... the actual decision on who is legally liable belongs solely to the courts, assuming the responsible party is actually working to settle their liability... it's all very procedural...

Nothing yet, really... I'd say just wait until your sister finishes up her rehab first. Once she's through that, gather all the paperwork and maybe talk to a lawyer, though you could also try reaching out to the insurance company directly...
Maybe you should just reach out to them directly to see why they're charging you that much instead of asking on the forum...🙄

Well, nobody can really give you an exact number for the damages... you'd have to check with the DOT for that. But if you were definitely drinking, your insurance company will probably try to subrogate against you. Just keep in mind that in the US, they can go after you for up to the equivalent of 12 average net salaries, though I doubt the damage to a guardrail is going to hit that high...
I honestly don't get the people blaming the players... what players? The whole thing stinks from the top down, and the real issues are Gorman and Coach K running the show for American handball and Washington, D.C.... It’s just unthinkable in a functional country that the national team coach is so deeply tied up in partisan politics. I mean, the national squad should be above all that, right? Fans from every political side cheer for the team... but because he’s too busy playing politics instead of focusing on handball, we aren't bringing home any medals lately, even though our roster is easily one of the best out there... This situation with Washington, D.C. is just another ridiculous, nonsensical mess where the head coach spends his time campaigning at political rallies while the assistant handles the actual training... that kind of thing only happens here. So, really, there's no point in pointing fingers at the players... they're the least to blame in all of this.
