It’s almost a guarantee that you'll be doing some dynamic lumbar stabilization exercises, maybe even some stuff using a stability ball. They aren't easy... 🙂
Once you wrap up physical therapy, you should definitely ask them for a list of exercises you can take over at the gym. It's expected that you'll keep up with the routine at home once the official sessions end anyway...
I think you might be confusing who does what—you should probably be talking to the physical therapists, not the nurses, because the nurses aren't the ones actually running the therapy sessions here. 😁
Honestly, I’m not entirely sure what the physiatrists are like, but the PTs are pretty solid. There's this one grumpy old lady who's always in a mood, but overall, they're better than most other places in Washington, D.C.
If I had to send someone from my own family there, I’d choose either this place or Holy Spirit.
Hey Megan Peterson2, I've got a pair here—one is -1.5 and the other is -1.25, both with an 8.4 base curve, and they're the Bausch & Lomb three-month disposables... If anyone's interested... just shoot me a PM
I'm really just trying to get rid of them, so I'll let them go for next to nothing.
Of course we aren't going to hold that against you.
I don't have any personal experience or medical expertise to offer, but I can definitely send a huge mountain of good vibes and positive energy your way!
And listen, you *are* going to find the strength you need. We’re all going to chip in and send you some of our own strength to help make this easier 😘
From what I understand, Hodgkin has a much better prognosis than Non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and the recovery rates are incredibly high.
But honestly, you've probably already scoured the entire internet looking for answers by now. If you haven't... let me know...
If you’re just feeling a little clicking or popping—that’s usually nothing to worry about. But if there’s actual pain or swelling involved? That’s when you need to pay attention.
The best way to protect your knees from major issues down the road is to focus on building strong, balanced quads. Keeping those muscles steady makes all the difference.
And if we’re talking about early signs of wear and tear—which is impossible to diagnose accurately over the internet, by the way—then maybe look into glucosamine sulfate. Just make sure you run that by your doctor first...
It’s not really about the number on the scale itself; it’s more about how that weight sits relative to your height. Generally, Anorexia is defined as being 15% or more below a healthy body mass for your stature. And obviously, we're talking about being underweight, not overweight 🙂
Back when I was 52kg, I actually looked quite 👍 even though I didn't have Anorexia. Honestly, if I were that light today, I'd be miserable 🙄
Just because your joints are popping doesn't mean there's something wrong with them.
That’s why I don't think it makes any sense to just start popping glucosamine sulfate like candy; that stuff is specifically meant for degenerative issues that you really need a doctor to diagnose first.
--boldeagle3, it isn't exactly "due to weak bone structure" either...
I was digging through some old threads today and stumbled upon this... Since it feels like the right time, and February is already just around the corner, I figured I’d bump this back up to the top...
Maybe we can all find a little extra motivation here😁
I've actually already started getting things moving on my end. I've got two pieces lined up for next week😢
Usually, those popping sounds happen because of negative pressure in the joint fluid or just tendons snapping over bone. That’s typically what happens with perfectly healthy joints.
But if your joints are actually "creaking," you might be looking at some degenerative issues. For instance, with something like runner's knee, it can sound exactly like you're stepping on crunchy snow. You can really feel that sensation if you put your hand on your knee and bend it...
My own joints pop so loud you wouldn't believe it 😁 especially my wrists and ankles. And my knees too. Oh, and my hips sometimes. Even my spine makes noise whenever I bend over 😲 Kosturko 😁
