User Harassment: Part 2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m going to go ahead and lock this thread just so we don't spiral back into another massive trollfest. The real headache with the alternative approach is that it's nearly impossible to jump into a thread halfway through and moderate effectively—it’s just too hard to figure out where the actual trouble started, how far back you need to clean up, and whether someone is actually starting drama or just reacting to it. Honestly, the best move would be to just shut down the most problematic topics entirely and restart them from scratch with active, steady moderation, but right now, we simply don't have enough hands on deck to monitor everything constantly. I’m going to try to implement some of those changes as soon as I can—hopefully sometime this week—but I really just don't have the bandwidth to react to everything in real-time. My apologies for that.
What's the move? in Philosophy ·
Can we please just try to stay on topic for once? Let’s cut out the constant bickering with the mods, the endless back-and-forth arguments, and all the personal insults. Just a heads-up, nobody actually reported you; I just stepped in to clean up this PDF thread since the admins were nowhere to be found. And honestly? Expect me to show up again if things get messy like this.
Moderation help needed in Feedback & Suggestions ·
All set, thanks so much!
False accusations and defamation in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The moderators have been notified, so please, let's keep the bickering to a minimum here.
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Everything should be good to go now, so give it a look when you can and let me know if it's working on your end! 🙂
Give me your reasons, Ball in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, you only started this thread because nobody gave you a heads-up about the partial payment, right? Well, Modica already stepped in, explained the whole "how and why" behind it, and sent over the notification. You got your answers, everything was handled properly, so there really isn't any reason to keep this discussion going. Honestly, this entire topic feels like it was opened just to stir up drama, which seems to be becoming your trademark lately—accusing people of things that have absolutely nothing to do with the situation at hand, and that’s just not how we communicate here. If you actually want to file another appeal regarding a partial payment, my advice is to take a breather first and come back when you're feeling calmer, being polite, and following the actual rules. Otherwise, we don't really have anything left to talk about.
Complaint regarding moderator Zoran Ostric's performance in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I honestly feel like everything's already been laid out on the table, though I suppose if the supermod feels there's more to be said, they can always jump in and add their two cents if they think it's necessary.
Admin, could you please take a look at this appeal? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
This user has earned permanent status due to their incredible contributions to the forum.
Please move this thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The Sony moderator is going to take a look at this thread whenever they can swing it, and then we'll make a call together on whether we need to move it or not. Thanks for bearing with me!
Getting inappropriate DMs? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Laura Sanchez64 said:Edit — I didn't actually delete it, I just blocked them! I've gone ahead and reported it to the admins now. Thanks!

I didn't actually catch your report because our system is acting up a bit right now, but the user in question did send an inappropriate message to another lady on the forum whose report actually went through. It turns out he's just a clone of a user who was already banned, and now his current profile has been hit with a permanent ban too. Fingers crossed he won't bother you anymore!
Can we trust Banić? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I've gone ahead and issued you a two-month ban. Just so we're clear, this isn't one of those things where I'll just lift it early if you change your mind, and I also need to make it very clear that creating clone accounts to get around this is strictly forbidden while your profile is suspended. If you find yourself wanting to extend the ban even further after the two months are up, feel free to reach out and let me know.
New vBulletin Version in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Still nothing on the new forum version, and it looks like there's zero movement on selling the site either.
Discussion: What kind of Reddit do we want... (and Complaints) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You’re out here attacking the mods, and honestly, that’s exactly why you’re getting deleted and banned. You keep digging up ancient threads just to spout nonsense, then turn around and tell everyone on the thread that you sent them a DM—all because your previous post, where you were criticizing the admins, got nuked from a discussion that hasn't been touched in five years. Look, once you actually have something meaningful to contribute to the conversation, feel free to chime in. Until then, don't act surprised when you get hit with deletions and bans.

Oh, sweetie, please just stop with this nonsense before you end up getting a massive payout from Amtrak.
Is this a decent signature? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Linda Harris44 said:Hey there.
I was just wondering, is it actually allowed to put a sentence in your signature that basically insults other members of the forum?

Nope, thanks.
Partial Credit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
The moderators have officially weighed in, and honestly, it looks like they’re sticking to their guns on this one. Given the mess we've all been dealing with, I can't say I blame them—it makes total sense from where they're sitting. 🙂Rachel Richardson, just a heads-up: you’ll be eligible to petition to have those partial bans lifted in about six months, but you really need to play it smart between now and then. They’re definitely going to be looking at how you conduct yourself in the meantime when they make their final call on whether to clear your record. Good luck!
Moderating vs. Locking Threads in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, I already told you in my message that we don't just delete threads because someone asks us to. I really have no desire to end up debating the same thing in two different places, so let me just lay it out here one more time so we can close this chapter: just because you aren't a fan of where the conversation is heading, or because the discussion didn't go exactly how you pictured it in your head, isn't a valid reason to wipe the thread. You can't really force other users on the forum to write exactly what you want them to; that's just not how these communities work. As long as the thread stays within the spirit of our site guidelines—meaning no doxxing, no constant rule-breaking, no being abusive, and no spinning in circles until the topic is totally dead—there’s absolutely no need to hit the delete button.
Sexism in the Philosophy PDF thread in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Andrew Booth29 said:You have the chance to start a brand-new thread regarding abortion within the philosophy section, after which I’ll be shutting down the current one.

And please—let's not go after hiddenpuma75 here. Honestly, he provides a much-needed counterpoint to that overly bleak, dark philosophical vibe that tends to drift into this forum... excuse me, I meant this digital space... from time to time. 🧐
So, here we go: diversity...

Alright, that's all settled then! If you guys need to hash out any more of the finer details, please just reach out via direct message.
Nazi SS unit avatar in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I've gone ahead and removed my avatar, and I’m asking please, don't try to restore it or swap it out for anything else that has even a hint of Nazi or fascist imagery.
Moderator isn't doing their job in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Locking threads, whether it's just for a little while or permanently depending on how things look, is a pretty standard tool in any moderator's toolkit. It’s also completely normal if someone doesn't have the bandwidth to dive into deep moderation every single day—most of our mods have actual lives outside of the internet, after all! None of that should ever be seen as a reason to let someone go. That being said, looking back at her track record, I honestly think Lisa Young83 is doing a fantastic job as a moderator, and I have absolutely no intention of removing her. If we need to step up the oversight, the administration team will hash that out internally, just like we always do.
