Technical/Mod Question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You could try reporting it one more time, but honestly, it probably won't change much. Just because you're flagging it doesn't necessarily mean there's an actual issue on their end. My advice? Just let it slide. But hey, if it’s really eating at you, go ahead and reach out to Anderson.

You can just shoot a quick message over to the supermod in charge of those PDFs and/or hit up an admin if there isn't a specific supermod assigned to that file.

Oh, please, let's not start throwing around these vague, baseless accusations right now. This PDF isn't the place for that kind of finger-pointing—it’s clearly stated right there in the rules.

Gregory Ramirez2 said:Didn't someone mention on here before that you aren't allowed to post in the same thread using two different accounts? And also, isn't it against the rules to jump onto a thread where someone was banned using a secondary profile?

Is there an actual rule somewhere on the forum regarding this—you know, about using multiple profiles?
I’m just asking because I haven't seen anything explicitly stated, and I think it's something worth knowing for everyone.

A ban applies to the person itself, not just one specific account. If someone is banned, they aren't allowed to post anywhere on the site using any profile at all. If it's a partial ban, then they aren't allowed to post on that specific thread using any other nicknames either.

I can't believe I’m even typing this out, but honestly, after everything that's been going on lately, it feels like we really need to sit down and have a serious conversation about where things are heading. You know, I was just thinking about what rustydrifter10 mentioned earlier—and they make a pretty fair point, if you think about it—but I can't help but feel like there's a much bigger picture we're all missing while we argue over the small stuff. It's like we're so caught up in the day-to-day chaos that we forget to look at the structural shifts happening right under our noses here in America. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love a good debate as much as the next person, but sometimes I feel like we're just spinning our wheels! Anyway, I'd love to hear what everyone else thinks, because I feel like I'm just shouting into the void over here! kaže:
I sent that out to everyone, but honestly? It’s like I’m shouting into a void. Not a single person has even acknowledged it or bothered to read through it, and you know perfectly well exactly what was in there.🤷

I honestly can't say for sure off the top of my head. If I had to guess, I’d say either nothing recent has surfaced, or maybe there just hasn't been any solid evidence to suggest a clone situation—or who knows, maybe it's something else entirely. I really don't want to go flying off with wild assumptions or start digging through old cold cases just for the sake of it. But hey, if there’s something happening right now that I should know about, my inbox is always open!

Rachel Palmer56 said:They basically went out of their way to set up fake accounts just to tear other members down in the worst way possible. Those burner profiles got banned, but the people behind them are still wandering around here using their original accounts like nothing happened.
Are you actually going to be the one to step up and hand out some real consequences? Because if you are, I’ll happily send over those profiles so you can see exactly who we're dealing with and what they've been up to.???
In my opinion, just banning the offensive troll accounts isn't nearly enough.

That right there is just one example of how much people get away with on here... personally, I'd love to see them face some actual discipline for once.

Just compile everything into a PDF showing the insults and send it straight to the moderators, the head supermod, or the admin.

This user goes by California, but in that first quote above, she’s listed as California. Which one were you actually trying to reach? Just a heads up, the second account is currently banned, so they won't be able to see any messages you send.

I went ahead and gave her a heads-up, so hopefully that ends up being helpful for her!

Richard Sanders7 said:The title pretty much spells it out, but let me break it down for you: imagine a Forum User with an original handle, let's call him "Original," who also operates under a clone account called "Clone." If Original gets hit with 50 penalty points for trolling one day, and then Clone racks up another 50 points for trolling the next, that’s 100 total points for the exact same person—yet neither Original nor Clone actually gets banned! It gets even worse when you realize a single user can have a whole fleet of clones like Clone1, Clone2, all the way up to Clone20. Each one grabs 50 points for being a jerk, totaling 1,000 points for just one individual, yet not a single account ever sees the ban hammer. Meanwhile, us honest Forum Users who stick to our one and only handle end up serving our bans like clockwork.

So, how do we fix this blatant unfairness? Isn't it about time we just banned the use of clones altogether? 🙂

Look, if the moderators decide that someone is abusing clones for any reason—especially to dodge a ban—they have the authority to ban that user's primary account, one of their extras, or every single profile they own. They can do whatever they deem appropriate based on the rules, the specific violation, the accumulated points, and whatever else fits the situation. Now, keep in mind, the mods might not always know if someone is using a clone; they might be unsure, or they might suspect it but don't feel like digging through every single profile's point history—which, to be fair, isn't really their job. They also have the discretion to let things slide if they decide it's reasonable given the circumstances... you know, everything.

You’ve been hit with a partial ban from the spirituality subforum.

rustydrifter10 said:Just so we're all clear, whether it's a partial restriction or a temporary ban requested by a user, the rules still apply just like they do with admin-issued bans—which means you aren't allowed to use alt accounts to get around them while they're active.

If you still think it's worth doing, just drop me a link to her profile and I'll shoot her a message.
I totally hear you on the lack of moderators being a massive headache, and I really hope we see some movement on that soon. That said, though, there’s just no excuse for anyone breaking the rules—especially when it comes to insults or more serious violations. We have to go into this assuming that everyone here is a grown adult capable of managing their own posts and taking ownership of what they say. This isn't a daycare, and we shouldn't have to teach people basic manners or how not to lash out at others; honestly, most of you have been around long enough to know better than that. A shortage of mods doesn't mean we should descend into total anarchy, either. If someone gets a permanent ban, they earned it a long time ago—it’s just that, until now, there wasn't much point in protecting them from the consequences.

You could also just shoot a direct message to the inbox. And hey, if this thread happens to get locked before you get a chance, feel free to start a fresh one (just make sure you follow the guidelines in the site rules PDF).

Amanda Hughes5 said:Hey there,

just wanted to check in because, honestly, nothing makes sense anymore 🤔

It feels like there isn’t a single thread in the "Alternative Medicine" section that hasn't been totally spammed or taken over by conspiracy theorists. Every single one of these topics has turned into a private battlefield for certain specific users and their little fan clubs—I’m not saying for sure they’re clones, but man, the vibe and the way they talk is identical. It’s pretty easy to connect the dots, you know?
Some posts have been reported by multiple members—and yet, absolutely zero reaction from the staff.

Yesterday and today, I actually put together a couple of posts in the "proposal blah blah" section of the "Alternative" PDF, laying out my own suggestions. My main focus was just asking to wipe out all the personal bickering and clean up the PDF from that kind of nonsense.
It shouldn't matter what username someone uses or what their opinion is. Rules should be the same for everyone, period.

So, I went back to check things five minutes ago, and wow... what a sight.
Both of my posts were deleted (seriously?!?), while a mountain of posts that people specifically asked to be removed are still sitting right there! And it’s not just me either.
Now, look, I don't think anyone should feel forced to do exactly what I’m asking, not even in their wildest dreams.
But it’s pretty telling when completely innocent posts—the ones actually calling for peace and a "clean" board—get nuked, while almost all the garbage stays on the threads.
Is someone actually enjoying this chaos and the insults, or have the moderators just decided to take sides?
As mods or admins, that’s really not how you should be playing it.

The "Alternative" section is a total disaster zone. Back when I was on the "Online Shopping" board, I used to get roasted for stuff like this—it was unbelievable. With the kind of posts being made here, someone would’ve been banned for life after maybe one or two offenses.

So, yeah... I’d love it if one of the mods or admins could step up and explain to us why this is happening—why my posts got wiped while a literal pile of trash remains untouched.

Look, a huge chunk of posts that had no business being there have been wiped out; I just didn't go too far back because it would have been easier to just delete the whole thread rather than painstakingly scrubbing every single thing. You are more than welcome to post constructive suggestions there, as long as they aren't just complaints about moderation (like whining about warnings, deleted posts, or whatever else). If you've got an issue with how the mods are handling things or if they aren't doing enough, that needs to be handled through official reports, direct messages, or right here on the community forum, not in that document.

We're definitely short on staff right now—BAT Co can't handle everything alone—but we should have some things sorted out and the moderation caught up very soon.

Honestly, there’s really no point in jumping straight to deleting posts or handing out penalties before we've even taken a second to explain the basic ground rules of how we talk to each other here. If people can't grasp the basics of communication after that, then maybe they just aren't cut out for interacting with others online anyway.

Look, this thread shouldn't be used as a dumping ground for complaints about moderation. We have specific reporting tools, private messages, and the official handbook for a reason. Please, let's all try to stick to those channels. 🙂

Well, this was actually posted today, and since I was the one handling moderation yesterday, I can tell you for a fact it didn't "get missed."

Look, I’m asking you guys nicely—if you see someone breaking the rules, just report them instead of jumping in and starting your own fight. Just because you didn't throw the first punch doesn't mean you're innocent here. Most of what was flagged in this thread has already been wiped away by the mods; if anything is still standing, it’s either because it’s too old to bother with or it actually adds something useful to the conversation. But seriously, most of the junk is gone. I’ve gone through and cleaned up pretty much everything I felt needed deleting, though I did try to be reasonable and leave the really old stuff or minor slip-ups alone unless they were becoming a recurring problem.

Look, Mr. Gray got banned just like everyone else who earned it. Just because one person gets nuked immediately while someone else takes a little longer doesn't mean we're turning a blind eye to the second case. In most instances, the mods just haven't gotten around to it yet, or maybe it slipped through the cracks—which is exactly why reporting stuff is so vital. Sometimes we're even trying to figure out the best way to handle a specific mess. And honestly, the mods can't promise you that someone else is about to get hit with a partial ban either, because there’s actually a whole procedure we have to follow for that too. Also, could we please stop using this Forum as a playground for petty bickering and personal vendettas? You guys jump from one thread to another the second you stop being tolerated, cloning yourselves just to stir the pot, and then you have the nerve to whine when someone actually tries to clean up the mess on the board.
