Access Denied: "Sorry, you have been blocked" error in Feedback & Suggestions ·
To really pin down what’s causing the block—whether it’s Cloudflare, your ISP, the forum itself, or some other random glitch—the tech guys are going to need a bit more intel. They'll want to know which browser you're running and who your service provider is, plus whether you've already tried switching up your IP or giving your home router a good old-fashioned restart to see if that clears things up. If you'd rather not air your business here in the public thread, feel free to just shoot me a private message instead, and I'll make sure to pass all those details along to them.
Psychology of moderation (and moderation in general) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I'm going to go ahead and lock this thread because, honestly, this PDF should be a space for our most dedicated, active community members to voice their concerns—not a dumping ground for bot accounts or people who never actually contribute anything to the conversation. As for the specific complaints being raised, I'll leave those in the hands of the moderation team to review.

I can't believe we're actually diving into this! Honestly, I feel like we’ve been circling around these heavy topics for a while now, but it’s finally time to put everything on the table and really look at the facts. You know me—I love getting lost in the details, even when they're a bit uncomfortable, because that’s where the truth usually hides, right? I was reading through some of the points Lisa Jackson7 made earlier, and man, she really hit the nail on the head regarding how much history gets smoothed over in the textbooks we grew up with here in the States. It’s wild how much context we miss out on! And looking back at what rustydrifter10 was saying about the impact of those old decrees from the Nationalists headquarters decree era... it just makes you realize how much weight those decisions still carry in our collective memory today. It’s a lot to process, I know. I’m sitting here with my coffee, just trying to wrap my head around how these massive shifts in leadership and policy during World War II could ripple through so many different communities. Whether we're talking about the struggles faced by the Jewish community, the Romani people, or the Mexicans, the scars left behind aren't just historical footnotes—they're part of the fabric of who we are now. Anyway, I don't want to ramble too much, but I really want to hear what everyone else thinks. Are we looking at this through the right lens, or are we missing a huge piece of the puzzle? Let's keep this conversation going—I'm all ears! kaže:

Looks like this profile has been banned too.
Parsifale, you’re pumping out so much nonsense that I can barely keep up with all the deleting! Honestly, I really don't have any intention of wasting even more of my precious time trying to explain to you—yet again—why your constant whining usually means you've got absolutely nothing better to do than clutter up this forum.

How to delete my account in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, it really comes down to what we’ve already established: our forum policy. Even when someone decides to wipe their profile, their posts don't just vanish into thin air. It honestly doesn't make much sense to delete them because even after the account is gone, you can still see what the old username used to be—you just won't be able to pull them up via a search. So, for the time being, we aren't planning on changing how we handle this.

Look, you haven't actually "made up" for anything. Once a permanent ban is issued, it stays on your record forever. Occasionally, the moderators might decide to show some leniency if they truly believe a user won't cause trouble again, but that's entirely at their discretion. Honestly, I don't know what the mod team is thinking, but personally, after seeing how much you're pushing to have this ban lifted, I don't think you've earned it—so I'm voting against restoring your access to Psychology. You certainly have the right to ask again once those six months are up, but let me be clear: that doesn't mean your ban will magically disappear.

I've gone ahead and moved this thread over to the World News section. Once the moderator gets in and has a chance to look things over and clean up whatever they feel is necessary, we should be able to unlock it and get the discussion back on track!

Is it okay for a moderator to post lies using a user's handle? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Look, it’s pretty obvious that a mistake was made here, and the mod is just doing their best to smooth things over and fix it as quickly as they can. If you aren't interested in cooperating, that's totally on you.

I’ve taken a close look at the recent logs, and honestly, I don't see any issues with how the moderators have been handling things. They’ve been cleaning up the problematic posts—and unfortunately, some of the collateral damage that comes along with them—and some of those warnings were definitely well-deserved. I haven't seen a single hint of bias or unfairness in the process, even though I totally get why people who aren't seeing the full picture might feel like it's happening. But look, this forum has its rules for a reason; off-topic stuff gets scrubbed to keep the discussions from spiraling out of control and to help cool down the tensions, and let's be real, for some people, having their post deleted is the harshest punishment there is anyway.

I really think we've covered everything there is to say on this matter.

So, we're looking at a two-year wait. I really, truly hope that by the time we get there, things will have shifted for the better and we'll all be a little bit wiser and more sensible than we are now.

Aaron Jones87, I actually got the notification for that chat last week, so I decided to take some time to really dive in and scroll through everything—reading almost every single post, including yours. Even though you aren’t exactly a regular on the main subforums, you are by far the most active person in those chat threads. Just to give some context on how we handle things: every individual PDF has its own dedicated chat because they're designed for the core group of users there to have a more relaxed space to hang out without cluttering up the main discussion topics. It’s basically a spot for the "locals" to socialize, usually staying somewhat related to the main subject of the board. Occasionally, people who don't normally post on the boards will pop into the chat, though sometimes folks join without the best intentions. I won't sit here and question your motives, but what I can say is that your presence tends to dominate in a pretty negative way.

I did a little digging into the numbers: on the Recreation board, you have 1,522 posts, and an incredible 1,499 of those are in the chat threads. Looking at your total history on the forum, you've written 57,489 posts (though many were likely deleted, and some were in sections that don't count toward the tally, like the Off-topic areas, given that the number next to your username sits at 47,046). I went through manually to see how much of that was in chats and similar threads, and I landed on roughly 46,500—it’s probably even higher since I wasn't being hyper-precise and skipped the boards where you barely post. All this just goes to show that, fundamentally, you aren't really a constructive member of the community; your entire base is centered around chats and lighthearted threads that are generally loosely moderated, where conversations are freer and people tend to push boundaries more often.

What I noticed in the Recreation chat is your classic *modus operandi*: you quote someone else, start throwing shade, act difficult, and lean into being provocatively unpleasant just to ramp up the tension. You sort of poison the well, and then, once someone finally snaps and gets blunt or insults you, you come running to complain about how you're being unfairly attacked for no reason at all. But there *is* a reason; it’s just subtle, and you really have to read more than two posts to see the full picture and understand the context.

I’ve gone through and pulled your posts that I believe the supermoderators and moderators should essentially issue warnings for. Look, a little bit of poking and prodding in a chat might slide, but when you drop fifteen instances of that kind of behavior in just a few days, we have a serious problem. I agree that we need to penalize those who end up insulting you in response, but at some point, we have to draw a line to prevent these cycles from continuing.

I've lost track of which board this is or how many times you've tried to play the victim. Theoretically, it’s impossible for you to be right every single time while everyone else around you is inexplicably attacking you and acting poorly. It isn't like that; we’ve proven that every time we take a closer look at an appeal. You’ve developed a reputation for this behavior, and anyone who has encountered you in one corner of the site knows exactly what to expect when they see you popping up somewhere else.

The supermoderator and I have agreed on a partial ban, and the moderator is on board with it too. Honestly, a permanent ban wouldn't even sound bad to me, but this decision is well-earned and isn't just some spiteful move on our part to get back at you. Within this year alone, you've racked up enough points to justify a permanent ban, regardless of whether current warnings are still active. I am almost always willing to give someone another chance, but for that to be an option for you, you have to be self-aware enough to realize how toxic your style of interaction is, and you have to be willing to change it quickly and thoroughly. I'm not sure how realistic that expectation is, especially after all the appeals and explanations right here on the Natural Science board, which clearly haven't made an impact. Even us mods in this section were discussing a partial ban for you before the whole Recreation situation even broke out. Handing out partial bans and fighting the same battles over and over again makes no sense, and it certainly isn't fair to the rest of the community.

Exactly! You can't just let a thread sit on a forum if it opens up with a massive pile of insults; it doesn't matter how much potential the discussion might have had, it just isn't worth keeping.
