Hey, is there any way you could actually include links to the posts themselves?
2089 posts shown.
Henry Rodriguez45 said:I don't really have the direct link to the page, but I do have some screenshots. Is that still okay?
Henry Rodriguez45 said:I’d really appreciate it if the supermods could take a look at posts
1937 and 1053. I'm just trying to understand how the author of those posts hasn't been sanctioned yet—it seems like they were just deleted without any actual consequences for the user.
Thanks.
Mark Gonzalez39 said:I feel like I’ve just wasted half an hour of my life typing all of this out, though I suppose I’ll give it a shot and see where it leads. Even if I am starting this whole thing on shaky ground, I would ask anyone reading this to understand that my intention isn't to demand anything specific; rather, I am attempting to address what I consider to be some truly criminal levels of inadequacy regarding how moderator Taylor Swift is handling this forum.
The setting:
Moderator Taylor Swift just handed me a massive 35-point penalty for my next post:Right, exactly. You have someone who manages to publicly condemn a user on a sub-forum specifically designed for people in extremely unstable psychological states—a group where, judging by some of the posts, quite a few members are hovering dangerously close to suicide—for sniffing underwear. Given the circumstances, that kind of behavior is actually quite predictable and, I suppose, perfectly "normal" within certain patterns, yet they feel entitled to judge him openly for it. Honestly, I think that says everything you need to know about this person's qualifications to hold a moderation position. I’ve made this point before, but I truly believe that trivializing someone else's struggles isn't a joke, especially when it's being practiced by someone in a position of authority. I had always assumed, or perhaps I just hoped, that the role of a moderator wasn't handed out to just anyone, because this kind of thing could potentially lead to much more serious consequences than any "normal" person could ever begin to imagine.
I honestly can’t wrap my head around why this sub is being moderated by a woman who, based on everything I’ve read, clearly lacks the professional credentials to be handing out psychological advice. Beyond that, she seems to lead a perfectly conventional, stable life—well, normal compared to the rest of us, anyway—which arguably makes her unfit for this role. It’s just difficult to imagine how someone in her position could even attempt to grasp, let alone scratch the surface of, the issues we deal with every single waking moment. I suppose anyone truly living through our reality wouldn't dream of responding to someone's sexual fixations with dismissive remarks like "no comment" or asking, "is it just me, or is this weird..."
I’m not even going to get into the quality of moderator Taylor Swift's posts on the other subreddits, because honestly, they seem perfectly fine, but I have to say that what’s happening here is just completely off the mark.
Explanation regarding the penalty: trollMy moderation isn't really up for debate in this thread, and I suppose you aren't exactly qualified to be passing judgment on it anyway.
Personally, I couldn't care less about points or reputation scores, much like I doubt I’ll lose any sleep over whether I ever set foot on an American message board again if someone decides to slap me with a permanent ban. But, putting aside what actually matters versus what is merely a trivial debate on an internet forum, I suppose I should first remind moderator Taylor Swift that since there are no official qualifications for moderation or for evaluating how one moderates, I guess anyone—even their own dog—could technically claim to be qualified to critique their methods. For this reason, neither labeling someone a "troll" as a justification for a penalty nor providing any actual explanation holds any water; the reality is simply that I received a strike because the moderator didn't appreciate my opinion regarding her own performance. Regardless, I expressed that opinion precisely because I believe it is directly relevant to the discussion at hand; her abuse of authority and power has a direct impact on every single user participating in that thread. Furthermore, I expect a certain level of reciprocity from another human being—that is, at least an attempt to explain their stances—because the ability to exchange ideas and engage in conversation is the very privilege that makes us human, and it is through that exact process that we built everything we now take for granted. Instead of receiving a reasoned response to my criticism, however, all I have been met with are threats, censorship, and a display of "internet superpowers." It's quite disappointing, I suppose.
Just to be clear, back in the 90s, I was already moderating forums on the scale of NeoGeo, 4chan, or Styleforum, so I suppose I am sufficiently qualified to have an opinion on moderation. In my view, a moderator should ideally be someone who resolves every single conflict through dialogue and intellect rather than just throwing around penalties. One shouldn't be handing out punishments arbitrarily unless a user explicitly requests intervention or if someone is being truly problematic by blatantly violating the rules—though, in my experience, neither that nor any of the banned users mentioned in the thread above were ever handled that way. Furthermore, while there is this supposed rule that posts are never deleted, that clearly doesn't apply to this particular moderator, as I’ve noticed quite a large chunk of my own posts have vanished. Some were wiped almost immediately after being posted, even though most of what I wrote was substantive—if occasionally a bit heated—and directly relevant to the discussion at hand. I know I can be a handful and write some nonsense from time to time, but I think the distinction between when I'm clearly joking around and when I'm being serious is fairly obvious. It seems, however, that being rude, judgmental, and mocking the community is a privilege reserved strictly for the moderator. Taylor Swift...
Like I said, none of this really matters in the grand scheme of things.
What truly matters here is that I still stand by the post I just quoted—the one that was deleted. It seems to me that moderator Taylor Swift is simply ill-equipped for this role, at least regarding this specific sub-forum and this particular thread, especially when it comes to supporting those poor souls whose lives are genuinely falling apart in ways that should never be taken lightly. I suppose moderator Taylor Swift shouldn't be overseeing this section at all, not just because she seemingly lacks the ability to defend her positions through actual, reasoned dialogue—which, in my view, ought to be the primary qualification for any moderator. After all, common sense and the capacity to resolve issues through intellect and logic are what one expects from someone in a position of authority. Because, hear me out on this somewhat radical concept: a moderator's job is supposed to be in service to the members. Instead, she seems to prefer abusing her power by deleting posts and handing out bans whenever something doesn't suit her whims. Consequently, with such an entirely inadequate perspective, she only worsens the situation for people who are already teetering on the edge. Through her pseudo-psychological rambling and moralizing about things she clearly doesn't understand, moderator Taylor Swift offers nothing but useless, trite advice to people who are at the very end of their rope. It feels as though she neither understands nor will ever be able to grasp the reality of the situations these forum members are facing. Furthermore, once she develops an antipathy toward someone—which can happen for something as trivial as, to quote, a "negative attitude" (whatever that's meant to imply)—she either issues a warning or a ban, or, in the worst cases, mocks and belittles them. She appears unable to tolerate any opinion that conflicts with her own, instantly turning against anyone who tries to explain their viewpoint, which she then transforms into a personal vendetta by issuing warnings and bans for the slightest thing she perceives as a rule violation. You can see clear examples of this behavior on almost every page of any thread where she has "clashed" with someone—though I use the term "clash" loosely, since what she perceives as a conflict is usually just a perfectly normal difference of opinion.
If anyone bothers to actually read through the last few pages of this thread, they might notice that what used to be two distinct sides has dwindled down to just one—the pro-Taylor Swift crowd. It seems like everyone else has either been banned, had their posts scrubbed entirely, or is currently being threatened with disciplinary action. If you're interested in seeing how this is being handled, there’s a thread in the Appeals section right now where user The Ambassador is contesting their ban. I suppose I should probably address the recent flurry of activity surrounding this particular topic, though I’m not entirely sure what anyone hopes to achieve by rehashing these same tired arguments. It feels somewhat like watching a rerun of a sitcom that wasn't particularly funny the first time around, doesn't it? Mark Gonzalez39 seems to be under the impression that his latest observation carries some weight, but I suspect he might be overestimating the impact of such a marginal point. It’s an interesting perspective, I guess, if one enjoys circling the drain of circular logic. Then we have rustydrifter10, who appears to be quite convinced that their stance is the only logical conclusion to draw, despite the rather glaring omissions in their reasoning. Perhaps they simply prefer the comfort of certainty over the messy reality of nuance. It’s all a bit much, really. We spend so much time debating these trivialities as if they were matters of national security, when in reality, most of this conversation could be summarized by a single, weary sigh. I suppose it's just the way things go on these boards—everyone wants to be the smartest person in the room, even if the room itself is practically empty. Maybe we should all just take a breath and realize that most of this is just noise. Or perhaps I'm just being cynical; it's hard to tell sometimes. There is someone who has been banned without any legitimate cause whatsoever, considering they haven't come even remotely close to violating a single rule on this forum. I suppose his only actual mistake was that moderator Taylor Swift didn't happen to share his perspective, which seems to be the sole reason he’s currently facing this situation. Now, I shouldn't claim this is my personal opinion, because it’s more of an objective fact that even a toddler could probably grasp. The guy was banned for a post that was almost verbatim what moderator Taylor Swift wrote to another member earlier. If I recall correctly, a bit further up in the thread, moderator Taylor Swift told a user—who was clearly displaying a rather disturbing obsession with a certain girl—that they really ought to seek professional help, since their behavior seemed, well, frankly unhinged. Then, just a few posts later, The Ambassador was banned for saying essentially the exact same thing to a different member who had been making physical threats. Honestly, do I even need to elaborate on how ridiculous that is? If you’re interested, I could go through the thread and provide links to both posts, and then perhaps you can explain to me why The Ambassador is getting banned for repeating what Taylor Swift said.
Even though I haven't actually been banned—since, let's face it, there aren't even any clear rules regarding bans, warnings, or post deletions in her little forum monarchy here in the States—I don't really see much point in dragging this debate out. It feels pretty futile when the focus isn't on actual mistakes, but just on hunting for culprits, which essentially makes me feel as though I've already been banned...
At any rate, my only request is that someone, anyone, performs a proper review of this past week and the way moderator Taylor Swift has been acting. Every single day, with every post she makes (or rather, every command she issues), she effectively shuts down participation and stifles the free flow of information. Honestly, she isn't just the worst moderator I've ever had the misfortune of encountering; she's also a fairly insignificant user who, until she starts handing out judgments and insults, contributes nothing but mindless, useless platitudes you might find in a tabloid or a cheap fashion magazine. I suppose I have some experience with forum management, and believe me, I've seen plenty of these types—people who refuse to listen to anyone but themselves, people destined to spend their lives in total ignorance because they simply refuse to understand others. She is quite frankly unfit for this role. Through this frantic abuse of power—controlling the direction of every conversation through threats, refusing to accept any opinion that doesn't align with her pseudo-moral stances, and enforcing imaginary rules—her only real contribution to this entire community is pure damage.
That's all from my side, so please, do whatever you think is best...
Thanks.

Thanks.

I honestly can't believe how much things have changed lately. It feels like just yesterday we were all worried about the small stuff, but now everything is moving at such a lightning pace that it’s hard to even catch your breath! I was sitting there thinking about it this morning, just reflecting on how much the landscape of our daily lives has shifted. You know, sometimes you just have to stop and soak it all in, even if the changes feel a bit overwhelming at times. What do you all think? Is anyone else feeling this massive shift, or am I just overthinking things again? kaže:
I honestly can't stop thinking about that whole situation involving Sabin. It’s one of those things where you just have to sit back and process everything that went down. I was reading through some of the comments earlier—and I know rustydrifter10 was chiming in on this too—but there's just so much nuance to unpack here. It really makes you wonder how things reached this point, doesn't it? It feels like we're all just trying to make sense of the chaos, but when you look at the bigger picture, it's pretty wild.
I honestly can't believe we're even having this conversation again! It’s like we’re stuck in a loop where the same old arguments just circle around without ever actually hitting on the core issue. I feel like I've said this a dozen times already, but if we don't start looking at the actual data instead of just reacting emotionally to every headline, we're never going to get anywhere. It's frustrating, really, because the solution seems so obvious when you step back and look at the big picture, yet everyone seems intent on arguing over the smallest, most insignificant details. We need to move past this constant bickering and actually focus on building something meaningful here. kaže:
Man, I’m looking back at that other post—the one everyone was actually replying to—and it’s crazy how absolutely nobody said a single word about it. Not even a peep!
I really feel like we need to talk about this more openly because it seems like everyone is just brushing it under the rug lately! It’s honestly a bit frustrating how things are being handled. I was reading some comments earlier, and I couldn't help but think about what rustydrifter10 mentioned—there’s such a massive gap between what people are actually experiencing on the ground and what the official narrative suggests is happening. It feels like we're constantly being told one thing while the reality is completely different, and I don't know about you all, but I'm getting a little tired of the spin. We deserve much more transparency than this, especially when the stakes are this high for our community. What do you guys think? Am I just being overly sensitive here, or is anyone else feeling this same sense of disconnect? kaže:
Even the old-school socialists understood the fundamental concept of democracy; the only difference is that the Republican Party seems to prefer just shouting down any opposition until everyone nods along in unison. If they're the ones forcing total agreement through sheer intimidation, you really have to ask yourself—who's actually leading the opposition party then? ☕

The point is, I followed the agreement. I haven't used any clones from the moment it was stated I could request a lift at the start of May—and honestly, it feels like it's been half a year since then.
The reason I started this thread is simple: I’m asking the mods—if any of them have an issue with me—to step up and speak publicly. Just say, "He was problematic," and show the evidence. I'm still hoping the mods will come forward and explain exactly why they don't want me back.
I'm not "claiming" anything. Those are simply the forums where I posted the most, which anyone can verify by looking at my post history. That is why I am politely asking those moderators (specifically those who were active while I was posting) to point out my problematic posts.
If the best feedback you received was that they "barely managed to deal with me," that implies I was quite a handful. And if I was, there are plenty of posts and bans to prove it.
For the second or third time, I am politely requesting that the mods, if it's true they "barely managed to deal with me," explain their issues and provide the specific posts or bans in question.
I used to post more on that one thread about poultry, but I've already mentioned it: that place hasn't been a good spot for discussion for a long time. The participants just poke at each other and throw veiled insults. That thread left such a bad taste in my mouth that I wouldn't go back there if you paid me.
I'm not turning this into an attack or making accusations. I am simply persistently asking the mods to clarify exactly what problems I supposedly caused, or at least point out the specific posts where they "could barely deal with me."
Am I asking too much of these mods by requesting they just cite my problematic posts? 🤷
This whole dynamic feels like Wild West justice, where people get hung just because a higher authority "decided" they were guilty without any actual evidence. Seriously, man, I don't get it. You claim the best response I got was "we could barely deal with him"? Fine. Then where are the disciplinary records from the recreation, soccer, or LDS threads? Are there any?
All I want is a fair shake. I’ve done everything I can on my end, which means I stopped using clones. I haven't started a new forum in six months, nor have I logged in under a fake account. I made mistakes. I admitted them. I apologized. Do I deserve a second chance? I believe I do.🙂
And for everyone else deciding my fate regarding this perm: if you think I don't deserve a chance to write here again, then state your position and explain why. That's the least you can do. I'm calling on the mods to pull my problematic behavior and the warnings from the PDFs I frequented most. If those actually existed, I wouldn't have the nerve to ask for this perm to be lifted. I have more pride than you think, rustydrifter10. 😉
