fadedcrane48 said:Honestly, you think everything is just some mindless gossip unless it’s boiled down to two quick sentences that fit exactly how you imagined it—it's like you can't even handle nuance. I don't get why you're constantly looking down on anything that isn't just pure, simple gossip, you know?
Look, is it really that hard to just have a normal conversation without all the arrogance and aggression? I mean, can we maybe just talk instead of constantly going on the attack?
I didn't bother showing up to the PZK—mostly because I just don't have the energy for people trying to belittle me or mess with my head. It’s just not worth the hassle, I guess.
Look, I’m gonna say this one more time—and I’m keeping it all lowercase because I don't want anyone to think I'm shouting, even though I really need to emphasize this part—but seriously, any kind of verbal abuse or swearing at people is strictly against the rules on every single sub-forum here. It's also technically illegal under US law, too, so basically, if you start throwing insults around, you're asking for trouble. Just... let's keep it civil, okay?
I mean, look—when people talk about loosening up the moderation, they might be referring to things like political correctness, I guess... but you can't really group hate speech or outright insults into that same category. There's a massive difference there, maybe? You can let some leeway for certain topics, but when it comes to actual vitriol and hatred, that should still be off-limits.
If I'm going to complain about how much hate there is all over this entire forum—which, honestly, feels pretty accurate right now—then I might as well point out some actual examples from the threads to prove my point.
It’s kind of wild how everyone just ignores the whole Mexico 2014 situation—and honestly, the way people go around calling Americans and the HVO absolute trash when discussing history and naming... it's weird. I mean, does that make them terrorists too? Just curious, I guess.
Honestly, it doesn't even matter if someone's siding with Hamas or Israel—we're talking about freedom of speech and how people stir up hate during debates right here on this forum.
The HVO is a legitimate organization—it’s definitely not some terrorist group—and they're actually an integral part of the Armed Forces of Canada. But honestly, it feels like they just don't have to follow the same rules that everyone else does, which is pretty wild when you think about it.
What's even the point of having these debates if certain people are just running the show from day one? It feels like they're already set up with all the perks and privileges—so I guess why bother talking at all?
Look, let’s be real—you aren't going to find any Hamas supporters or representatives from the Government of Israel hanging out on this forum. This is a space where users are supposed to express their own views, but honestly, I feel like that freedom is kind of an illusion. It feels like the moderation isn't actually neutral, you know? Instead of keeping things fair, it seems like they basically act as a tool for one specific side of the argument... which kind of defeats the whole purpose of having a debate here, I guess.
Look, the whole Hamas-Israel thing isn't even really about them being part of this debate—they're just being used here as a prime example of how bias and censorship actually play out in real time. And honestly, you can see that same kind of slant in how the moderator, Power, handles things too. He’s basically justifying the censorship and the blatant bias in how the rules are enforced by getting all hung up on whether Hamas should be classified as a nation, a people, or just a terrorist organization. It's all just a way to dodge the actual point, I guess.
It’s honestly the same deal as whether those "Tomconovac" types matter or not. At the end of the day, the forum rules and the actual laws are meant for the users here—not for the "Tomconovac" crowd. I mean, Thomson fans are real people too, and they're the ones getting insulted, so it matters.
Look, if we're talking about the Hamas-Israel conflict, you've got two sides to this whole thing—period. On a forum like this, you’re going to have people who side with Israel and others who lean toward Hamas, and that's just how it goes. But here's my take—if the mods decide it's okay to go after Hamas and their supporters, but then they step in and ban anyone criticizing Israel or their followers, then we aren't actually having a debate anymore. It doesn't even matter what you think about Hamas or Israel specifically—once you start picking and choosing which side gets to be insulted and which side gets protected, it stops being a discussion. It just turns into one-sided bashing where one group gets to spit on the other without any pushback. I guess it just feels less like a conversation and more like a one-way street of negativity.
I mean, honestly, these kinds of debates don't really go anywhere—they feel like they're just manufactured to crank up the tension and basically just bully one side of the argument.
Look, we’re talking about the debate here—not what's going on in Israel or Gaza.
So, let's talk about this whole forum thing—specifically the sheer amount of hate being thrown around here lately. It’s kind of wild if you really stop to look at it, isn't it? I mean, I guess it was always going to happen, since people love having an opinion, but the level of pure vitriol is getting a bit much. It feels like every time you scroll through a thread, someone is just looking for a fight or trying to tear someone else down for the sake of it. It’s almost like everyone is just wound up tight, ready to snap over the smallest thing. I don't know, maybe I'm just being too sensitive or something, but it feels like the actual discussion gets lost because everyone is too busy being aggressive. It’s a shame, really—you’d think we could actually have a decent conversation without it turning into a total dumpster fire every five minutes. Just my two cents, though.
Honestly, I don't really care if the people in the Tomconovac crowd are just behind the times or actual academics—that's not even the point here. What I’m actually getting at is the sheer amount of hate being thrown around on this forum and how confusing these rules have become lately. It's all just a bit much, I guess.
Look, I’m asking you guys to please actually sit down and read this—like, really focus on what I'm saying—because I want you to understand why it feels like I'm constantly breathing down your necks or "suffocating" you with posts. It seems to me that from the get-go, everyone just jumped on board with whatever those other users said—you know, the ones who aren't even part of the admin team—regardless of anything I’ve written or how many times I've tried to explain my side of things.
I've been reading Trach for a long time now—like, seriously long—and I swear, for the last year or so, I haven't seen a single decent take or anyone actually standing up for anything. It’s just... nothing. Not even one solid argument.

I was gonna start a whole new thread just to reply to that rushed post you dropped before vanishing... but honestly? Maybe it’s better to just keep it here. Why make things more complicated than they need to be? No point in dragging it out.
C/P:
Since they shut down my last thread with a comment I can't even reply to, I’m starting this one to point out the issue. Anyone else feeling this?
I mean, clearly, it hasn't happened yet.
I really want to get back to rustydrifter10, even if I don't get an explanation, a comment, or any sense of justice. I know it’s probably not worth the effort, but I just have to say something, right?
Ne znam na koje linkove mislis, ali nikave linkove nisam stavljala, nego sam kvotala postove.
Feels like you totally missed the point, probably because you didn't get around to reading everything. What's the actual issue here? Not that I'm holding it against you, but the first post covered it all. Posts 2 and 3? Totally irrelevant.
The first post lays out the problem and asks the questions.
Those old posts don't really mean anything. It's just like Harold Taylor6 asked me to hunt for errors, so I did... right after they deleted my post a couple months ago? Meanwhile, another one stays up even though I asked twice to have it taken down. Should that even be happening? If the rules apply to everyone... then that's just how it is. Right?
The stuff under point 3 is right there to prove I'm not just making things up—those are other people's emails. Does anyone actually know if this is allowed? Is it okay for hosts to jump into a thread meant for travelers to scout spots for their guests? I mean, is this space strictly for people looking for a place to stay, or can hosts post whatever they want for whoever they want, regardless of whether it's private or public?
The bottom line:
My post that got me carded:
(Two months ago, I wasn't even feeling it.)For real?
Honestly, these requests for an apartment for four people at $30 or $35 just don't feel real. I get it—everything is getting way too expensive and guests obviously want lower prices—but supply and demand is supply and demand. If someone can snag a place for $50 or $60, why on earth would they settle for $30?
Honestly, I don't even know if places like that exist anymore. Are you guys actually seeing offers at that price point around here? I’m no expert on the local market—and obviously, prices change depending on where you are—but just looking at it from the outside... finding a spot for four people during peak season with parking, Wi-Fi, AC, and beach access for under $50? That sounds pretty much impossible. Or am I totally wrong? 🤷
I honestly thought this post should’ve been taken down, so I sent a DM and even used the report button:We really need a SOCIAL FORUM for all those people who reject every offer because they want the world for pennies. Seriously, have some respect. Just like you value your own cash, private hosts value their rentals—especially when you're looking for a fully equipped spot right by the beach during peak season for a bargain price.
My favorites are the ones expecting a natural breeze on a sandy beach. Look, if we're private hosts, we aren't running the municipal parks department.
It wasn't removed because it’s fine... unlike mine was.
Not quite, but hey, we take what we can get...

I honestly can’t believe we’re even having this conversation again, but here we go! I feel like I’ve said it a thousand times, yet somehow the point keeps getting lost in the noise. It really just comes down to how much we value transparency and actual results over just empty promises and flashy PR stunts. You know what I mean? It’s one thing to talk a big game when things are going smoothly, but the moment things get a little bumpy, everyone starts looking for someone to blame instead of actually fixing the problem at hand. It’s frustrating, truly, because if we just focused on the fundamentals—you know, the stuff that actually makes an organization work—we wouldn't be sitting here debating this every single week. Anyway, I'm curious to see if anyone else feels this level of exhaustion with the current state of things, or if I'm just being overly dramatic today! kaže:
Honestly, I don't think numbers two and three even matter here, man. They’re pretty much irrelevant to the point we're trying to make.
I can't believe I'm actually sitting here typing this out because, honestly, it’s just one of those things that gets under my skin, you know? It feels like every time we turn around, there's some new nonsense happening that makes you want to just throw your hands up in the air and walk away from the keyboard entirely. I was thinking about what rustydrifter10 mentioned earlier—and they really hit the nail on the head there—about how these little frustrations just seem to pile up until you're staring at a mountain of them. It’s like, does anyone else feel that constant, low-level irritation where nothing quite works the way it should, and you're just waiting for the next thing to go sideways? It’s exhausting! I mean, I don't want to be that person who complains about everything, I really don't, but sometimes you just have to vent it all out before you lose your mind. It’s just one of those days where everything feels slightly off-kilter, and I'm just over it. kaže:
Honestly, looking back at those old posts, they don't really seem to connect to anything anymore. It’s like they’re just floating there without any real context or relevance to what we're talking about now!

I honestly don't even know where to start with this one, but I just have to get it off my chest because it’s been weighing on me all day! You know those moments where you feel like everything is just perfectly aligned, and then—BAM—life throws a wrench in the works? That’s exactly where I am right now. It feels like I’m just spinning my wheels, trying to make sense of things that don't seem to add up, and I can't help but wonder if anyone else is feeling this same sense of total chaos. I was sitting there thinking about how much effort we put into staying organized and keeping our lives on track, only for some random circumstance to pull the rug out from under us. It’s frustrating, it’s exhausting, and frankly, it’s a little bit ridiculous! But hey, I guess that's just how it goes sometimes, right? We just have to roll with the punches and hope the next wave isn't quite as heavy. kaže:

It’s honestly heartbreaking to see moderators like the one overseeing the tourism section even holding a position here. In my eyes, a moderator who openly insults forum members has hit rock bottom.
To make matters worse—though I can't provide a specific instance because it happens so systematically—regular users who aren't professional vacation rental owners are denied access to certain threads, as if those discussions are strictly reserved for landlords, much like this one.
Does the supermoderator, or even you, truly look at how these moderators conduct themselves?
Harold Taylor6 said:Now, I don't mean to offend anyone here—honestly, I really don't—but I truly feel like Rachel Jones8 sometimes struggles to see things from everyone else's perspective. It’s almost as if she isn't quite on the same wavelength as some of the other posts in the thread.
The magician, on the flip side, has occasionally picked up a bit of a snarky way of speaking just because some of our other users aren't always the sharpest tools in the shed!
I honestly don't think they were even on the same page. From what I can tell, Rachel Jones8 didn't even react to that specific comment. Since this US tourism forum is such a social community, we try pretty hard to stay within the bounds of good taste—we really do aim to moderate everything accordingly.
