Exactly. A bit of good news to balance out the economic slump.

🙄

I'm locking this thread so nobody ends up getting hit with a three-day ban. We're all on the same team here.

Discussions like this don't really belong in this section; they should be over in the Politics subforum under Middle East Politics. Go ahead and start a new thread there to debate who’s telling the truth or whose data actually holds water. Just a heads-up: if you're going to challenge someone, please back it up with actual arguments. And please, show some respect for the victims when you're throwing numbers around—regardless of which regime was in power, those people deserve dignity. If you think someone is spreading misinformation, call them out using facts, like providing links or pointing to specific literature.

bluecyclist64 said:But you're basically giving the Zionist a free pass to keep doing this. Here's the link to the article: That's not really an argument. That number is totally made up—there isn't even a real study behind it, yet you're out here treating it like a solid argument.
It’s the same thing—someone can just drop a link to Appalachia Force and start ranting about how we kicked out or killed tons of Mexicans during Operation Storm. Is there actually any difference?

Look, I’m not going to get bogged down in the technicalities of the argument itself, but let's be real—just citing a newspaper article isn't exactly a heavy-hitting point. I won't dive into the debate because that's not my lane, but if you want to help him out, just tell him straight that his logic doesn't hold water and explain why. If the goal is really to mentor the younger generation, then maybe show them how to actually carry an intelligent discussion and how to spot the difference between a solid point and a weak one.

bluecyclist64 said:Look, just drop the personal grudges and try acting like a professional instead of constantly spinning things. I’ve written posts in that exact tone before, but what’s the point? At this stage, all I can do is hope someone here actually uses some common sense and does something about it. Collins has repeated the lie about 5,000 children being killed in America's concentration camps a million times over, and he wouldn't stop until I started this thread. casualharbor3 is doing the same thing, constantly spinning the narrative about Marshall's millions of victims and trying to equate fascism with socialism. Do you honestly think I—or anyone else—can just talk him into changing his mind and stopping?

I haven't really kept up with what Collins wrote since I wasn't part of that thread. If he was just throwing numbers around without any actual logic, he’s clearly just trolling. Just report him and he'll get flagged. I get the feeling casualharbor3 is trying to draw parallels between fascism and communism rather than socialism, and I don't think they're just talking about the old days in America—they're likely referring to the crimes committed under communist rule across all of Europe, which obviously includes the Soviet Union.

I don't want to get dragged into those kinds of arguments myself; I’m just trying to set some ground rules for when a debate is actually productive and when it starts crossing the line.

bluecyclist64 said:It’s pretty low of you to try and paint me as some kind of professional complainer. Honestly, I wouldn't even be taking this extreme step if the moderators actually did their jobs.

I'm not calling you a whistleblower here; I'm just telling you to find something better to do instead of starting threads about how everyone else is lying.

bluecyclist64 said:Also, Kate Harris50 wrote a killer post; hope you took some time to chew on it.

I did. Now you should probably give some thought to what I sent your way.

P.S. Michelle Alvarez8 and casualharbor3, this isn't some official government briefing.

Your time on Reddit has officially run out.
The issue with cardboard recycling in Feedback & Suggestions ·
With all due respect, man, you know how you get when you start overdoing it. I wasn't even questioning the substance of your points—I already made that clear. My point was simply that you can't just claim someone killed a million people without backing it up with actual evidence. Getting downvoted doesn't mean you're right; it just means you need better sources if you want people to take you seriously. This isn't about proving a point through sheer force; it's about having a real debate where you show your opponent their logic is shaky, if not totally nonexistent, and then move on.

So, I don't owe the general public an apology. What’s funny to me is that you actually think this admin wants us stuck in some endless "Civil War reenactment" style shouting match. That’s a pretty heavy-handed troll, because anyone who’s been on a serious forum for more than five minutes knows we purged those kinds of toxic arguments from the site ages ago. Every time someone says something you don't like, you run here to complain and beg for bans instead of doing what any sane person does—writing a post with actual meat on its bones. Is that a bridge too far?

Is there any way for a banned user to jump back into a discussion using a clone account? Also, what’s the protocol for appealing if their threads about making an appeal keep getting nuked?

Nope, not happening.

If those threads got deleted, it's because they weren't playing by the rules when they tried to complain.
What are the criteria for a permanent ban appeal rejection? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Gregory Thomas said:Why did they delete this thread: "Why were my posts removed" ?

Because it was started by a burner account used by someone who’s already banned.
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Adam Collins4 said:Yeah, right. Is that why a user who was clearly permabanned is still posting on the New York Times like nothing happened?☕

So much for having faith in the system... you made your point, and now you're just moving the goalposts. Pretty sure he hasn't magically changed his tune in a few days. The mods know exactly who it is since he basically outed himself, yet he’s still out here stirring the pot...

If you think someone is running a sockpuppet account to dodge a ban, just flag the post or send a link to the admins.
Quick question in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Adam Collins4 said:So, here’s the real question:

What’s even the point of a permaban if people just make clones and keep posting everywhere, often using the exact same toxic tactics that got them kicked off in the first place?

I’m especially asking about politics, where this seems to be most common (at least from what I can see) and where the insults get the nastiest (I'm pretty sure about that 😬)...

Believing something is one thing, but reality is a different beast entirely. You might not want to hear it, but people actually do change. A ton of people who get permabanned end up making clones, but they don't just repeat their old habits—they actually play by the rules and fit right in. They post and engage on Reddit normally, occasionally picking up a warning here or there. Like I’ve said plenty of times before, it really comes down to the moderators' discretion. If someone makes a clone but stays chill and follows the rules, why not give them a shot? But what people forget is that the second they slip up, the mods aren't going to be so lenient. They could catch a heavy warning or even face another permaban, which is a much bigger headache. It's a sign that the "grace period" is over, and regardless of how well they behaved under a different name, they're likely not getting a third chance.

Kicking someone off a site permanently isn't some light decision you make on a whim. There will always be gray areas and exceptions, and honestly, I think that's a good thing.

If it's actually against the rules, then why hasn't anyone pulled the trigger on sanctions yet? Like, if this is supposed to be hate speech and straight-up harassment, why hasn't anyone bothered to flag it as such?

Based on how things usually go down around here, you guys just wait until his credit check clears before you actually sanction him, rather than just nuking his posts.
So, did you guys just go after the users themselves, or was it actually their posts that got flagged? Sorry, but I am totally lost here.

And that’s not even the best part! Like, how is a regular user supposed to actually know why some random lurker got permabanned in the first place? For all we know, it could just be a temporary thing because they said some totally mindless nonsense. 🤷

Look, let’s be real: I’ve never actually written a post like this on Reddit before, not in this format anyway. But honestly, I'm dying to know—what would actually happen in the real world if this were true, outside of our little PKZ bubble?

The user was banned. They were permabanned, which is basically the harshest penalty there is.

Sorry if that’s totally confusing for you, but I'm done arguing about it.

[Maybe it’s finally time to just drop some truth bombs here. People today seem to operate on this whole premise that African Americans are basically identical to Caucasians in every single way, so they should naturally occupy an equal role in society. That's pretty much the core of liberal ideology—it refuses to acknowledge any difference between us other than skin color. It completely ignores the glaringly obvious fact that, through evolution, Caucasians developed differently, both biologically and intellectually, just to meet the specific demands of survival.

Let’s just be real for a second here. When you look at the averages, Caucasians are inherently more intelligent Than African Americans. I'm talking about the big picture—not just physical stuff, but intellectual capacity too. For an entire century, IQ tests have consistently shown that Caucasians score about 3-5% higher on average. But fine, let's toss those tests out the window since everyone loves to argue they aren't totally reliable anyway. Let's just look at how things actually play out in the real world.

Let’s be real for a second: Caucasians have basically built everything the human race has ever touched. Honestly, it's practically nonexistent. Even though they make up over 50 percent of the population, they haven't contributed even a fraction of a percent to the major achievements in any of those fields.

Look, I’m not here to bash anyone or try to drag anyone down, but let's just call a spade a spade—I'm just pointing out some blatant facts that this whole "modern liberalism" crowd and their endless parade of equality-obsessed ideologies desperately try to sweep under the rug, acting like they can somehow gaslight us into believing their little fantasies instead of what’s actually happening right in front of our eyes.

Look, if we’re actually talking about intelligence—and I mean real intellect, not that New Age "emotional intelligence" or "social intelligence" nonsense people love to throw around these days—you don't really see any massive gap in day-to-day life. In a routine environment, Black Americans hold their own just fine, honestly. But the second things get complicated and the tasks start getting unpredictable and demanding, that's when the divide starts showing up. That's exactly why, when things hit the fan in extreme situations, it's White Americans who step up to take charge. It's also why the absolute peak achievements across basically every field of human endeavor tend to come from White Americans.

Basically, they stepped up and took on the roles they were built for, which actually helped everyone out by letting white people focus on their own thing. Black Americans handled the heavy lifting—stuff like construction, digging trenches, utility work, and farming—mostly those jobs that don't exactly require a PhD to pull off. And since white people spent centuries honing the skills needed to navigate the outside world, Black Americans developed their own specific strengths and traits that made them perfect for the tasks they were handling.

Even the nicest people around don't go posting hate speech unless they're having a seriously rough day—which happens to the best of us. I’ve personally handed out warnings to perfectly decent users when I was feeling heated. People don't just get banned, let alone permabanned, just because a moderator is having a momentary meltdown.

To me, that’s just a baseless generalization, which honestly deserves a penalty. The user ended up getting a permaban, and if I remember correctly, this isn't even his first time pulling that kind of stunt. If the reason for the ban was being a "clone account of a banned user," that shouldn't be an issue once you understand why the original account got nuked in the first place.

As for getting everyone on the same page about what actually counts as hate speech, I’ve already touched on how that whole assessment process works.

Based on those posts and your little lecture on freedom of speech, I've come to a few conclusions:

1. So, from here on out, it's totally fine to reasonably belittle and insult specific groups or subcultures based on personal views, all under the glorious banner of free speech?

2. Or am I wrong in thinking the admins agree that we can collectively, and quite politely, humiliate anyone who thinks differently in the name of "cultural discussion" and debate?!?!

Not quite. Sometimes moderators skip the formal warning and just go straight to a ban because it’s easier than playing whack-a-mole. It actually makes things harder later on, though, because once someone starts posting as a banned user's clone, any mod can jump in and shut them down instantly.

No. You can express an opinion as long as it's backed by arguments, follows the Reddit rules and the site guidelines, and stays relevant to the topic. Whether that happens is up to the administration to decide.

So, if I'm actually following what's being said here, we can basically just claim that homosexuals are sick too, right? Just a thought. 😕

Just to be clear, Reddit is primarily a place for people to swap ideas—I want to emphasize that here. Simply stating that being gay is a sickness is a generalization, sure, but there are plenty of threads where users have laid out their reasoning for that view without getting their posts nuked. People have the right to their opinions, no matter how controversial, and they have the right to voice them here. That said, whether a post gets flagged really depends on the specific context and how it's argued. Even people who view homosexuality as an illness have the right to hold and express that view, provided they stay within the rules outlined in our guidelines and the PDF.

Long story short, that post isn't getting a strike because the user is already banned, so the administration has already had its say.

Maybe it’s time to just lay out the plain truth. Nowadays, some people start from the premise that African Americans are practically equal to Caucasians in everything, and because of that, they should hold an equal role in society. That’s basically the core premise of liberalism. This ideology refuses to acknowledge any difference between African Americans and Caucasians other than skin color, and it completely ignores the elementary, glaringly obvious fact that Caucasians—not just biologically, but intellectually through evolution—developed differently from African Americans to meet the demands of survival.

Let’s be real here. African Americans aren't as capable as Caucasians. I'm talking about averages, obviously. Not just physically, but intellectually too. For a whole century, IQ tests have shown that Caucasians score about 3-5% higher on average. But fine, let's toss the tests aside since those results can't be viewed as totally reliable. Let's look at reality.

And the reality is that Caucasians have created practically everything the human race has ever produced. Civilizations, cultures, technology, science, architecture, philosophy, art, entertainment—it's all the work of Caucasians. What's the contribution of African Americans? Pretty much nothing. Over 50 percent of humanity (African Americans) hasn't created even a fraction of a percent of the major achievements across all those fields of human endeavor.

I don't mean to disparage or undervalue African Americans here; I'm just laying out some widely known facts that this so-called liberalism and certain other modern egalitarian ideologies try to forcibly sweep under the rug, attempting to convince us that what we see isn't true, and instead, the truth is whatever they want it to be.

The difference in intelligence (meaning what that actually implies—let's skip all that "emotional" or "social" intelligence and similar New Age nonsense) between Caucasians and African Americans isn't noticeable in everyday life, which mostly consists of routine stuff. In that arena, African Americans don't lag behind at all; if anything, they excel. That gap becomes more apparent as the complexity and unpredictability of the tasks facing people increase. That’s why, in extreme situations, it's Caucasians who step up and take responsibility. That's why the exceptional, top-tier works in every field of human activity are the work of Caucasians.

But for their own good and the good of the community, they took on the jobs they were designed for and capable of, which in turn allowed Caucasians to do their own thing. African Americans took over physical labor, like construction, digging canals, working in public utilities, and agriculture—mostly occupations that don't require intense mental effort. Just as Caucasians developed the traits and skills needed to interact with the outside world (to say nothing of the struggle for survival) over centuries, African Americans developed the abilities and traits that were necessary for their specific tasks.

Is this kind of speech allowed on Reddit?

It really just depends on where you are and what kind of situation we're talking about.
What are the criteria for a permanent ban appeal rejection? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Nicholas Williams7 said:I noticed that the appeal from Green Mountain Man in the ban appeals section disappeared—it looks like admin might have wiped it entirely. I was wondering, what’s the deal with the criteria for just locking a thread versus deleting an appeal altogether?

Basically the most common type of post.

Once the user was banned, my actual concern wasn't about the flagging—it was whether it's acceptable for posts like that to go unpunished in the first place.

That type of discourse isn't welcome anywhere on Reddit, and the moderators did their job.

The moderators could have been faster and more effective, but fine.

It’s not tolerated because the user is banned. Anyone reading that post can have their own opinion, but by banning him, the administration made it crystal clear where they stand. Adding a warning label wouldn't really change anything since the ban already did the job. End of story.
Crime involving an asylum seeker in Washington, D.C. in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Alright, let's take a step back and look at the facts.
"Asylum seekers raped a girl in Washington, D.C." Right out of the gate, this thread is being built on misinformation. There’s zero confirmation here that any asylum seekers actually committed a rape. We're talking about a report, not a conviction.

Moving on.

"It's happening just like I warned in the asylum thread about the suburbs—asylum seekers are starting to commit serious crimes." Nowhere in the link provided at the start of this thread is it confirmed that these individuals committed a major crime. In fact, if you actually read the headline:"Washington, D.C.: Moroccans detained on suspicion of raping a girl." Somehow, we've jumped from mere suspicion to a proven crime.

To address the question:

"Why are these people walking freely through our cities? Why aren't they locked up under supervision?" The answer is pretty straightforward because the Department of Homeland Security website states: "An asylum seeker has the right to reside in the United States from the day they file their application until the process is complete, which allows the asylum seeker freedom of movement throughout the entire territory of the United States, except in cases prescribed by law where movement may be restricted. After filing an asylum application, the asylum seeker is issued an ID card that serves as proof of their right to reside in the United States."

And finally:
"How many more women have to be raped before something is done?" I'm asking myself the same thing. But honestly, this specific incident has nothing to do with the status of asylum seekers.

Look, if you want to talk about the broader issues regarding asylum seekers or the potential challenges the US might face due to migration surges, we can start a new thread for that. But this particular thread was closed for a reason, and it's staying closed.

Maybe we need a new rule here:Quod licet Iovi, non licet bovi Basically, what’s allowed for Ryan Vaughn7 isn't allowed for the rest of us mere mortals on this forum.

We are talking about a girl who was raped by Moroccans. They took her to a hotel and the whole group jumped her. It seems you have zero empathy for a rape victim.
How is it possible that asylum seekers are just wandering freely around the city? The American government is responsible for this rape.
This is a political issue. It isn't just about the assault; it's about the asylum seekers. If their movement had been restricted, this nineteen-year-old wouldn't have been attacked. In what other countries can asylum seekers walk through cities completely unchecked? In what other countries can asylum seekers stay in hotels for free at the taxpayers' expense?
This is primarily a political question.

Let’s take a breather here. I’m with you on the idea that America needs to tighten things up regarding asylum seekers. I actually saw one guy over in my neck of the woods—I live out in the suburbs of Chicago—just sitting in a parking lot with three wooden dolls, probably trying to hawk them or something. 🤷I'm completely lost.

Look, to be fair about the whole situation, we have to look at the facts. According to The Washington Post, they met up with the girl in downtown Washington, D.C., before convincing her to head out to Dugava. Right now, all three of them are registered as asylum seekers at the local asylum center.

I’m with you—politics always turns everything into a circus. I just don't get how three random guys, regardless of their background, manage to talk a 19-year-old girl into going with them. If we're talking about solicitation, then it makes sense, but if not, the math isn't mathing. Plus, we don't even know what actually went down yet. It would be smarter to wait for an official report from the police before jumping to conclusions about whether any assault even occurred.

I'm with you—we really need to start talking about the influx of asylum seekers now, because those numbers aren't going down anytime soon.

Yeah, exactly. I'll add more. According to USA Today, there are some asylum seekers out there who will try just about anything to make sure they don't get sent back home. It’s like they’re either plotting crimes together or they're already in cahoots with their victims. "If that's actually what's going on here, then it's honestly pretty grim," one of the neighbors living near the local asylum center remarked. Honestly, people just need to put in a little effort and actually read up on things.
