Question regarding the CIA. in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Exactly, a wise man says it best! 🧐

What would it have accomplished if I had just jumped out of my screen and smashed the monitor to pieces? Huh?

😵

And you, Abbott, did you conveniently forget how you lashed out at a female member for absolutely no reason just a few posts ago? You don't count that?
And this happened in the Men's Corner, where we’re supposed to be keeping a very close eye on our local troublemakers.
Help! Some random person is harassing me in my DMs in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Grace Kim80 said:I have my messages locked down.

If they aren't on that specific list, I have no idea what he's seeing on his end, but personally, I never get any email notifications when someone tries to message me and fails because they aren't in my contacts.

The only time an email actually hits my inbox regarding failed delivery is when my storage is full and someone can't get through. Otherwise, I haven't even bothered turning on email notifications for direct messages.

Anyway, just thought I'd share in case it helps anyone.

Well, you certainly have something to brag about—a moderator who’s essentially closed their door to incoming mail.

By that logic, why don't you just lock all the threads too?

I've lost count of how many times I've had to clear up misunderstandings with moderators via private message, but apparently, it's much easier for you to just hand out bans. A stellar example of leadership, truly.

I find it incredibly shortsighted to even attempt a comparison between Sly and Schwarzenegger. To be blunt, the German actor never really tackled anything with significant dramatic depth, whereas Macaron has clearly demonstrated he possesses the range for those kinds of heavy, character-driven roles.

P.S. Don't get me wrong, I think Network is a phenomenal piece of cinema, though I often wonder how much of its message actually landed with audiences back then. Regardless, it remains one of my all-time favorites—an absolute legend of a film.

Exactly! 👍

Personally, I’d love to see Rambo take out those ISIS fanatics, then turn around and tear through the Bodybuilder group, giving their security teams hell...

But hey, we aren't going to see that movie anytime soon... 😢

Richard Wilson4 said:I mentioned this a while back, but the original Rocky and the first Rambo are genuinely great films—they're more character dramas than anything else.
Rocky works so well as a social drama, and that final scene in Rambo carries more weight than most loud-mouthed blockbusters today.

The sequels are pure trash, though they're undeniably fun enough that we don't mind watching them.😁

I have to disagree. The latest Rambo was actually quite decent, and when it comes to Rocky, only the fourth one felt like total trash (maybe slightly less so than Rambo 2 or 3); the rest are solid films, especially the most recent installment.

@bluenomad2/">@@bluenomad2: don't embarrass yourself here; Stallone is an exceptional actor.

The reality is that while he certainly filmed some garbage, he also delivered absolute masterpieces—films that have become legendary.

As an actor, the man is phenomenal. He actually earned an Oscar by taking his own script and pounding on studio doors until someone finally gave him a shot, which he used to damn well good advantage.

I'm with you—Salvador Dali is a KING! 🙏

Honestly, I’ve got a bit of a lump in my throat just thinking about it...
To hell with everything else; I’m just genuinely glad that guy managed to pull it off... 👍

I’m not entirely sure how the final product will land, but this definitely feels more substantial than those trailers from a few years back about him taking down some neo-Nazis.😁

Man, I have to admit... there's something deeply satisfying about watching someone beat the hell out of neo-Nazis, Nazis, or any kind of old-school white supremacist.😢

Compare that to 2020: Rambo: The first transfusion...

The real kicker is that US Congress passed a law that basically forces their hands. Like, they *have* to follow these rules now. I mean, I highly doubt banks actually have any real incentive to go hunting for "terrorists" among their everyday customers. It's just more paperwork for them, I guess.

Right, because clearly, Congress passed a law requiring my bank to ask me for my measurements.

Give me a break.

Nothing too crazy, really...
But honestly, she was actually quite charming and sweet...

Over at JP Morgan Chase...🙂

Who knows? Maybe it was love at first sight... 😒

Justin Chavez6 said:So, about a year ago, I headed over to JPMorgan Chase to set up a CD with some cash I had saved up. I don't actually have a checking account there or anything, I just wanted to lock this money away for a bit. When I finally got to the front of the line, I pulled out my cash and told the teller I wanted to put it into a fixed term.
She starts printing out all these documents—like, several pages of A4 paper—and just shoves them toward me. I take a look and realize she’s handed me this massive questionnaire that basically wants to scan my entire life; asking if I'm married, what my husband does for a living, how many people I support, and all that deep stuff.

I honestly hate standing in line for even five minutes, so I just looked at her in total disbelief and asked if she was being serious, like, does she actually think I'm going to sit there and fill out all those empty pages?

"Oh, you know, it's just so we can get to know our clients better," she tells me. 😁

"Well, in that case, never mind," I shot back, and just started tucking my money back into my wallet.

Of course, she ended up calling me back to say that just writing my email on the first page would be enough.

But I'm pretty sure they really do vet the people they take more seriously; if I had walked in there asking for a loan, I bet they would've insisted I finish the whole damn thing.

They tried to pull the same nonsense with me at USA when I wanted to open a secondary checking account, and I ended up telling them exactly where they could shove it.

Absolute crooks.

You want a mature answer?

Every time someone tries that with me, I tell them exactly where they can shove it.

Is that "mature" enough for you?

Because frankly, after dealing with these vultures for years, I’m a hair's breadth away from losing my mind...

I am certainly not being paid to act as an unpaid intelligence officer for predatory lenders.

Raymond Rivera6 said:I'm not sure how to put this delicately, but I think you're exaggerating. Chase does have KYC questionnaires, but there isn't a single word in there about who you live with or anything regarding children. They might ask about your income, where you work, or the amount of a specific transaction, etc. They could have been updating your basic info, but even then, they don't ask about a spouse or kids—just the standard stuff like address, SSN, etc. Nothing deeply personal. At most, they might ask the reason for closing the account.
It feels like someone is just venting here and maybe embellishing the story to make it sound more dramatic.
Given how much work they have and how much they want to wrap things up smoothly with customers, I highly doubt anyone behind that counter actually cares whether you have kids, if they're in school, or what you had for lunch today. They don't have nothing better to do.

And what’s the latest news over at JPMorgan Chase?
When are they going to find someone younger to take your place on this forum? 🍿

Laura Chavez93 said:For about a month now, I’ve been getting calls from my bank 😠 first from this "personal banker"—someone I didn't even realize was assigned to my account 🤷—and then, a week later, her manager... they're insisting I come into a branch to fill out a ten-page form 😕 and sign it... apparently, it's all part of these anti-money laundering regulations 🙄
When I inquired about which specific details they needed—hoping to perhaps settle this over the phone—she told me I had to visit in person, unless she emailed the form to me, in which case they would send someone to my house to pick it up once it's completed 🤦

I made the same point—that if they truly need this data, they could simply cross-reference it with the local municipality, the IRS, or whoever else might have it. But she was adamant; I have to show up. I explained that my schedule doesn't permit it, given my workload, so she suggested I call ahead to schedule an appointment... since I supposedly have her direct number😵
In any case, after a week of silence, they called again just yesterday at 1:00 PM—well after standard banking hours—and it was my personal banker once more 🙂. I actually asked her if I might request that she stop calling, and if there were any official notices, she could just send them via USPS, and then I hung up.
So, where does this leave me? Can they actually shut down my account if I refuse to comply with this paperwork?

Honestly, they can shove it; they aren't going to close your account.

A few years back, Exxon was giving me a hard time about providing some tax ID paperwork, so I just told them where to stick it.
The bills arrive on time regardless, so you don't need to worry... 🥳

If they're so desperate for data, they should just hire some college kids through a temp agency to go door-to-door...

...that way, I'd at least have someone to slam the door in the face of, xexexe... 😈
Since I was under a temporary ban, I didn't have the chance to call out the absolute garbage feasts being served at my expense, but it makes me wonder if the moderators actually intend to tolerate that kind of behavior.

rapidnomad512 said:First of all. 😉
So, I suppose you're the one who went ahead and fixed it.

This is the first lie. I was slapped with a penalty for "aggressive trolling" by Fran Krsta—a measly 100 points docked for 60 days. Then, William Bennett53 stepped in and arbitrarily bumped that up to 200 points for 90 days. It’s almost comical; he didn't even grasp the substance of what I actually wrote. Or perhaps, more likely, that was exactly the point. 🤔

Fair enough. The reality is that three days later, he’s still typing away with the same attitude I had when I told him straight up that his work was absolute garbage.

I would be truly fascinated to hear exactly what kind of disciplinary action you were handed for that stunt.

So, I suppose we’ve reached that point where celebrating the mass execution of people in pits and calling a fellow human being "trash" are viewed as two sides of the same coin. It’s all just one big, indistinguishable offense now, isn't it?

Look, this is exactly why I find you moderators so difficult to deal with. Am I really expected to step in and report this kind of slander myself, or are you actually capable of seeing it for what it is?
What kind of sick, twisted celebration is this—celebrating the act of throwing people into pits?

By the way, you slapped me with a warning for supposedly exposing private information. I actually went back and searched for his specific post where he allegedly did that, and all he wrote was: "There aren't many of them left at the old town site, and most were killed; it's a shame some managed to escape."

Isn't this a bit much for a single sheet of paper? I honestly can't recall ever writing something like this, let alone where or when.
Why isn't there any accountability for these kinds of lies?

I am bringing this matter into the public eye now. To be clear, this isn't about any sort of doxxing or leaking private information; that isn't the issue here at all. Rather, this user initially attempted to resolve the situation through private channels by reaching out to the administration directly. When those private efforts failed to yield a solution, they decided to voice the grievance publicly, hoping that perhaps other members might assist in locating a post that has somehow "mysteriously" vanished.

I know I'm right, even if I can't prove it since I don't have the receipts posted here. It’s just one of those inconvenient truths.

What exactly are you trying to pull here? You’re talking about private messaging when I’m currently under a ban? What kind of game are you playing?

The reality remains: there is someone here who actually had the audacity to write that those people thrown into mass graves lived like animals—and that they deserved to die that way. And yet, despite such a disgusting display of inhumanity, the fact remains that three days later, they’re still here, typing away as if nothing happened.

That isn't a fact; it’s just pure dyslexia.
I cannot be held responsible for your inability to grasp what I have written.

He’s had his permanent ban lifted twice already. Why? Why can some people get away with everything despite their "contributions" to this forum being nothing short of toxic?

I asked nicely, so maybe that was the issue.

What's the secret behind the special treatment this guy gets? He constantly skates right on the edge of hate speech without ever facing real consequences.

Honestly, I’m asking the same thing.

I’m not going to jump to conclusions and claim there's some political favoritism here—someone please tell me if I'm wrong. Because if some far-right trash had written something celebrating those killed by fascists (and in my eyes, they're just as much trash), how many points would they have racked up? Would they be looking at 35, 45, or 70 points and a three-day ban? Would there even be a police report filed against them?

Now, go back to the top of the thread and look at how many warnings you *didn't* get. I highly doubt we're dealing with any kind of political bias here.

Let's just agree that glorifying the mass execution of people in pits is one of the most egregious offenses possible. Let's establish it as a universal standard: such an offense should result in a single, permanent ban from this forum. No matter who says it.

Since when is throwing people into pits something worth "celebrating"? I'm curious—do you need a Christmas tree, some colored eggs, or inverted crosses to properly host such a celebration?
What kind of nonsense is this?

This post alone should have earned at least 500 points for hate speech, if not an immediate ban. I know it, you know it, and everyone reading this knows it. So why didn't that happen? Tell me, what kind of protection is this individual enjoying?

You clearly don't have the slightest clue what constitutes hate speech.
If Fran Krsta and William Bennett53 hadn't jumped down my throat immediately, the worst I could have gotten was a warning for trolling.
But of course, the conservatives are always accusing the two of them of protecting liberals, so I became the perfect target for a liberal type like Pedro.

Just as a test, I can swap out certain names in his sentences and then you all tell me how many points those sentences carry. Why does a sentence mentioning a Jew or a Mexican trigger the heaviest penalties, while one where wounded soldiers and hospital staff are called Americans is treated as a minor infraction?

What are you talking about regarding wounded soldiers and hospital staff? When did I ever write anything about them?

It’s a fair question. Perhaps, in his twilight years, he might offer a different perspective.
I might actually have a shot at meeting this director because a close friend of mine knows him personally. If he’s in a decent mood, I’d love to pick his brain for a bit, though I certainly don't want to be that annoying person who overstays their welcome or pesters him with mindless questions.

If you were in my shoes, what would you ask him—something beyond the usual, tired clichés we've all heard a thousand times?
