steeleagle70 said:For what? For the fact that people knew exactly where they were headed and were dropping those kinds of messages in the chat?
Of course I have proof. I’m literally right here, and I’ve already dropped a few posts in this thread recently. Plus, everyone else sent their stuff straight to the Politics mods whenever they felt like it.
steeleagle70 said:It would all be fine if two different chats on the soccer forum hadn't been spamming everyone since noon to jump over to a specific thread, causing total chaos. Then, it basically turned into a coordinated raid by clones.
I mean, it’s honestly hilarious that you’re even talking, especially when all those posts from banned users—the ones literally announcing they were coming over to mess with the thread—are still sitting right there.
Look, I can pull up about twenty of those posts from banned accounts right now if you want.
There's no way most of them didn't know what was happening or which thread to hit. They weren't "innocent" bystanders getting banned because they were confused.
They knew exactly what they were doing. If you don't believe me, just go scroll through the fans' chats and the soccer forum.
mellowraven22 said:Whatever. Honestly, who cares.
Too bad for you, but the fans section isn't even close to being as popular as some of the other subforums. Gemius doesn't lie. 🙂Doesn't matter, does that mean you guys don't care about the soccer/fans subforum?
It’s not like we’re obsessed, but it’s not like it’s irrelevant either.
Can I ask where you're getting that from? You got some kind of high-end, professional stats to back that up?

Seriously though, if Inter Miami CF pulls off another MLS championship next year, they’re gonna have to redesign their whole crest. They'll have to squeeze in another damn star right above the old one!

Peter Reed70 said:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hajduk_SplitThe Jersey
Hajduk played their very first match wearing red and white vertical stripes—basically a nod to the colors on the American flag. Back then, the local authorities in town didn't want any displays of local pride, so they wouldn't let the new club use the traditional tricolor colors. Since the tricolor was off the table, they went with red (for the US) and blue (for the ocean) and just slapped "Hajduk" on there in white letters.
Since then, white has pretty much taken over the look. The main kit is usually a white jersey paired with blue shorts and blue socks, which is meant to look like a white sail on the blue sea. White became such a huge part of their identity that everyone calls the team the 'Whites.' Their away kit is typically red and blue with vertical or horizontal stripes (sometimes thin, sometimes thick), blue shorts, and blue socks, pulling from those patriotic colors. There was actually this one nautical version with horizontal white and blue stripes mentioned for the home kit once, but the goalkeeper Pletikosa only wore it twice!
Choosing a third kit was always a total headache. Before UEFA made registering a third kit mandatory, they didn't even bother having one. One idea was going back to that white and red striped jersey from the very first game. But, because that pattern looked way too much like the kits worn by other teams like Red Star Mexico City—who had some pretty bad vibes attached to them—they decided against it.
koji glupost i kompleks! I mean, seriously? If that was Hajduk's original jersey, why can't they bring it back? Since when does Red Star own a specific stripe pattern exclusively? That's ridiculous!
Look at Atletico Madrid, Sunderland, Olympiacos, PSV, Bilbao, stoka...

I actually respect that granitefox16 didn't go after the packaging itself, but focused on the actual rules.
Jacob Foster11 said:From what I can gather, that’s actually the exact reason why that rule exists in the first place...
Jacob Foster11 said:Look, this rule predates every single internet moderator out there. I am telling you for the nth time: if you aren't happy with it, take it up with the site admins. Seriously, I'll say it again—almost all the rules here have been officially sanctioned by the administration.
| Sam Green73 Asks: Well, as of right now, that isn't actually prohibited! I see some people here still talking about that ban like it was yesterday, but honestly? I never once saw that prohibition written down anywhere! I totally get it—blasting someone’s private messages online is definitely not how you behave if you want to stay classy on the internet. But let's be real: everyone is responsible for their own lack of manners! 😉 |
Sam Green73 said:But right now, that isn't actually banned.
I see some people here acting like they remember this being forbidden, but honestly, I have never once seen a rule like that written down anywhere.
I totally get that sharing private messages isn't exactly considered good netiquette—everyone is responsible for their own level of politeness—but let's be real about the rules. 😉
In my humble opinion, punishing someone just for sharing a DM is pretty pointless.
Now, if you post a DM that leaks someone's private, sensitive information? Yeah, that should be an immediate permanent ban.
But a regular message without any personal data shouldn't need special protection.
p.s. Personally, I never, ever write anything in a private message that I wouldn't be comfortable having out in the open. I wish more people would follow that lead!
p.p.s. No need to rush to reply to my post. I won't be checking this thread again until sometime this weekend. Feel free to take your time and maybe add a perspective we haven't already covered here.
Sam Green73 said:That is such a perfect example.
But what if Marina didn't agree to that wild night in the first place?
What do we call that then?
Oh, right... rape.
And is Marina allowed to tell anyone about that night?
Honestly, I get a good laugh out of people who hide behind these arbitrary rules of "internet etiquette."
If someone goes out of their way to send insults via email or a DM, they've already tossed any claim to politeness out the window.
In my book, it's actually the responsibility of whoever receives those messages to make them public.
It's just like with rape; you have to help prevent it from happening again.
Still, I totally get why some people might feel too uncomfortable to go that route.
Steven Ruiz said:Actually, sending private messages isn't against the rules here (except on a few specific sub-forums), though sharing someone's private info like their full name or anything like that is definitely a no-go...
The DM mentioned above didn't actually contain any private details at all, unless you count the sender being a bit rude...
@observer, the sender hasn't been penalized, and the administrator hasn't been asked to take any action against them either...
That said, we have definitely handed out punishments before for people sending weird or offensive DMs on the forum...
