Yeah, there was an art exhibition over at the Knitting Factory, and I think they showed a documentary too... Anyway, I caught the tribute show and it was 👍 The band doesn't seem to have a name, but they're actually fantastic; the singer has a voice that reminds me quite a bit of Milanov.

There was another gig last night at the Festival... they played Filigran, a group I’d previously heard on TV, and honestly, I don't think they're talented enough to represent a lineup as powerhouse as EKV had (I’m looking specifically at the keyboard player).

There’s going to be another Tribute concert at the Knitting Factory this Saturday, November 13th.

I’ve got a few tracks here... downloaded from some random site. They sound pretty good, but honestly, whenever I grab stuff off the internet, I can never be entirely sure if what I'm actually listening to matches the title on the screen. Does anyone know if the song Godzilla is actually one of theirs?
There used to be plenty of them, but honestly, my memory is failing me and I can't recall any specific titles right now. 😉

That’s exactly why I tend to skip the movie theaters altogether. I’d much rather just settle for whatever happens to be playing on TV—for instance, PBS tends to air a decent amount of foreign cinema 👍, and occasionally I'll catch an older Hollywood blockbuster if it's on...

To give you an example, the last thing I actually sat down to watch was The Escaped Juror. It was genuinely a great film, but it was almost too intense; the moment my friend and I walked out of the theater, I completely stopped thinking about it. There is simply zero sense of catharsis to be found in this era of hyper-produced American cinema.

Well, I suppose that’s what linguists claim to believe. I’ve stumbled across similar arguments on a few websites myself... And if we’re being honest, you have to admit there’s probably more politics at play here than there are actual, fundamental differences between our languages.

Give it a rest... just talk...

Do me a favor and dig through some of the older threads; you'll find them, including the Movie List...

The film is pure genius, plain and simple. Between the black-and-white cinematography, the moment Randall knocks over that poor soul's casket, and that absolute masterpiece of an ending with Grandpa in the restroom—it’s perfection. 🙏

Man, what exactly are you trying to translate there? 😁

I mean, how were you planning on translating Hasanaginica?

Henry Anderson47 said:Has this self-proclaimed critic, Srđan, even watched any other movies lately? 🙂

I’m honestly at a loss as to who here is actually out of the loop... 😁

If you aren't familiar with S. Dragojević, then I truly have no words for you.

I haven't actually sat down to watch the film, and honestly, I’m probably better off for it. I caught a review by Srđan Dragojević on TV the other day, and if I were to paraphrase his take:

''The movie is an absolute train wreck. I truly have no idea why there was such massive Oscar hype surrounding this thing... it’s offensively racist... He comes across as a complete fool, yet his daughter is supposedly a philosophy student, even though she doesn't so much as touch a book during the entire runtime...''

And there you have it. I don't need to dwell on it any longer because my paraphrasing is pretty terrible, but the poet's point is crystal clear. 🙂
Ennio Morricone? Or maybe some Goran Bregović (give me a break)...😁

Of course, Elephant... it’s been 🙏 way too long since they dropped an album of this caliber.

But honestly, why is nobody talking about Massive Attack - 100th Window !!!? That one is just as phenomenal.
