A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. this whole thing about the hype is .. quite good .. actually, even better than I expected .. (.. mostly because everyone loves a little bit of praise, right?)..
A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. why are you so set on working on the stock market? You could have gone into spreading viruses globally.. that’s a job too..
.. or maybe distributing cocaine.. that counts as work as well..
.. or.. hell.. just crucifying half of Jesus Christ across the world..

.. so.. why this obsession with the exchange?

... anything worth dying for...
A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. I mean .. personally .. I feel like .. if all the priests, bishops, and the Pope were to take their own lives .. it might actually be a step toward Jesus .. .. do you happen to agree?
A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. nothing bothers me about it... honestly, I actually quite enjoy being praised like that..
.. it’s strange to me.. the idea that there’s nothing to delete or move away from.. though I have a feeling there will be things to deal with down the road.. some deeper, more philosophical stuff..

.. well .. I don't think they'd see eye to eye anymore ..
.. what I’m getting at is .. that .. now .. we can build upon the teachings of Jesus .. and continue following his path ..
A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. yeah .. ever since Jesus .. the world has lost sight of what it means to be an individual ..
.. it’s been this way .. since the Greeks
.. and Jesus was .. the last .. damn it .. a real man .. a good one ..
.. he could have remained a model .. a perfect example .. or a brilliant tool for manipulation .. over the next two thousand years .. if you just split him apart .. and throw half of him away ..
A Marxist perspective... in Philosophy ·
.. I know I feel this way because my old neighborhood... well, it absolutely tore me apart. It was brutal. So now I find myself wondering if my perspective is even sane—if it’s just a constant, lingering weight.
.. But this stuff regarding Jesus—and honestly, much of this—it touches on true philosophy.
.. If Jesus saw the organizations built specifically to worship him today... I am certain he would tear them all down.

.. In a world full of lost causes, having cults preaching about paradise is a joke. You're supposed to love everyone, right? Because your reward is in heaven. Which basically means you end up taking the absolute worst kinds of people as your teachers and building the most broken world imaginable.
.. What Jesus actually said to people was meant for the individual—for the soul standing alone. To take those words and force them into the mouths of priests, in a world where the individual has been erased to kill off any spark of freedom... well, God is going to have to punish that. Hell, I hope He does.

.. From a philosophical standpoint, it's incredible—how a story that has been completely copied and stripped of its other half becomes... its own polar opposite.

.. Jesus wouldn't be a complete personality ..

.. I think Marxism is truly rooted in labor .. and it interprets social relations and man himself .. starting from his position within that labor ..
.. This doesn't have to be .. direct .. and it isn't .. because a capitalist can just as easily question his own standing .. as a class adversary .. and I believe the greatest ideas were born that way .. through the play of opposites .. yet labor remains the foundation for everything ..
.. Even our entire modern world .. stands upon .. the act of doing .. people are defined by their place .. in the world .. by human actions within the world .. amidst all that chaos of events .. driven by people ..

.. A Marxist Jesus has no grounding in labor .. he exists outside of that world ..

.. Let's say that isn't the issue .. .. let's look at something else instead ..

.. Philosophically .. Jesus is only half a personality ..

.. Well .. now this situation gets interesting .. because one man has had half of his humanity erased .. not for athletic .. but ideological reasons ..

.. The half that was left to him is .. the god of love .. who meets stone with bread ..

.. And the half that was deleted .. is anarchy .. or individualism .. being beyond the system .. beyond any regime ..
.. When he says give to Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's .. the unspoken continuation is .. screw them both ..

.. His .. socially unattached .. half .. was enough to drive him to the cross .. because he accepted neither his neighbors nor their gods .. .. and later .. once that half is totally .. erased .. he becomes .. the perfect guardian of the establishment ..

.. So .. his love .. stripped of his independence .. turned a .. great man .. into the ultimate coward ..
.. A coward tailored to fit every single coward .. across various neighborhoods over the last two thousand years ..

.. One last thing ..

.. I'm taking this opportunity .. to apologize to the real man .. because I held him in contempt as a coward and a piece of trash simply because that's how he was presented to me .. and I wasn't able to piece together the other half into .. a real human being .. .. because that .. certain .. coward .. just pissed me off so much ..

.. I'm taking this opportunity .. to damn all that paradise .. which took a man .. damn it .. who was almost God .. and managed to turn him into a coward .. just so it could survive .. on its own .. surviving in such a base and filthy way ..
.. May all that paradise be cursed .. and may its every seed be cursed ..
Are schools killing critical thinking? in Philosophy ·
.. because you’re only looking at equal pay .. while someone else needs to see those unequal results ..

.. and you—either you or whoever you are—you either view the system as bad luck .. just a stroke of misfortune .. and you adapt to it .. or you think you can somehow change the entire establishment into one that actually values results .. and then you go back to school .. try to achieve things there .. and wait around for fair wages and merit badges ..
.. the administration changes during elections .. that's just how it works .. so you decide for yourself ..

.. the only logical way for workers to get ahead is to stop working .. and it doesn't have to be anything extreme .. honestly, it's something smart people have been doing for ages ..
Are schools killing critical thinking? in Philosophy ·
.. what I'm getting at here .. it's just plain and simple .. you see where I'm coming from .. ?
.. unlike you .. I honestly feel like I'm completely worthless .. do you follow me on that .. ?
Are schools killing critical thinking? in Philosophy ·
.. schoolteachers always sang songs about whoever was footing the bill .. whether it was under FDR .. under various dictators .. or during the Third Reich ..
.. is there anything more predictable than that? ..

.. you might think someone like that didn't truly grasp the nature of humanity -- but I don't see what gives you the right to think you do ..
.. mindset is what experts call "mob mentality" .. the crowd .. the masses .. and those masses are always the ones pulling the strings ..
.. when the mob shifts, it feels like tectonic plates .. or entire continents grinding against each other .. that's how mountains are formed .. creating this illusion that some people are standing higher than others .. but in reality, it's all just dirt ..

.. do you guys actually grasp historical materialism .. or the idea of a sovereign, independent, free America?
.. the mindset of the ruling class .. the mob .. while individuals are stuck in every newspaper fighting against them .. clearly and fiercely ..
.. you wouldn't even see that kind of dynamic in Cambodia .. even among the Khmer Rouge ..

.. mindset is a biological state .. there's no point in arguing .. individuals within a pack of "mob mentality" don't need to be granted any freedom .. their sense of self is about as distinct as a rock in a canyon or a tree in a forest ..

.. and honestly .. it's all just a matter of perspective ..
.. Jesus was an individual .. though .. he still liked to hang out and tell stories ..
.. and even someone like Bill Clinton is an individual .. a farmer once told him he was quite a miracle .. the one true American individualist .. he's been in the spotlight for decades now .. and despite everything he's presided over .. nothing has changed his core ..
.. mindset is .. a club for the brokenhearted followers of the establishment .. whereas the individual .. is more like a lone wolf ..
.. yeah .. it's possible .. .. and honestly, that's the future ..

.. I think this world could use a little more love .. since there's already plenty of hate .. enough to go around .. ? .. no .. what the world really needs isn't the truth .. .. that's the thing .. it needs silence..

.. it’s the seventh seal .. the final sign of the apocalypse .. right here .. yet so far away ..

.. those classic rock bands from the Midwest used to write such beautiful songs .. about love .. I care for all of you .. equally .. though most people stay stuck in their ways .. but my soul keeps pulling me back .. toward my brother's place in Chicago..
Is it possible to empirically prove free will? in Philosophy ·
.. what even is free will? .. is it actually just proof that at some point, a person can start acting independently of everything that led up to that moment? ..

.. say someone lives in an environment they’ve fully embraced .. and let's say they’ve built a version of themselves they’re actually comfortable with ..
.. suppose everything is great—they're happy, in love, settled .. and then .. does suicide serve as the ultimate proof of their free will?

.. I still lean toward believing we have free will — damn it .. we are free to choose the very framework of our existence.
.. you could put it this way .. we are free to choose our own gods .. who will eventually build churches and appoint priests for us to serve ..

.. that’s how you might find someone .. a wonderful, well-adjusted person, perfectly in sync with themselves and the world around them .. who suddenly takes their own life .. not because they possess free will, per se, but because they chose two gods who couldn't coexist.
.. those could be the gods of conflicting truths .. the drive for self-preservation is perhaps the most natural human instinct .. yet there is one other just as primal .. the urge for self-destruction.

.. Is it possible that the Libyan forces didn't actually shoot down the plane near Benghazi... and that Gaddafi ended up admitting it himself?

.. You aren't the master of your own truth—nor is truth your master—but rather, you are simply a servant to your own master.. Find out who you're actually serving, and you'll realize why you lie..

.. The true witnesses haven't stepped forward yet.. They are people of great faith..

.. When I choose to sit down and talk with someone.. it's because I believe the truth is just beneath their surface consciousness—or perhaps even beyond it—and that they have the capacity to reach it..
.. It’s often buried so deep in the subconscious.. that a person would be willing to face Death long before they'd ever descend that far to find it..
.. Which makes the very idea of a conversation seem a bit foolish..

.. yeah .. hmm .. right .. that’s some high-level efficiency for the Third Reich .. running a preschool and feeding cyanide to the Hitler Youth .. or maybe Japan .. .. and if you don't pull it off quite well enough .. the Americans will just show up and level Hiroshima and Nagasaki .. and if that still isn't sufficient .. well .. damn .. if that isn't enough ..

.. though he didn't say much about the bourbon ..

.. there was this neighbor of mine .. who had a neighbor .. and that guy .. he was short on supplies .. I can't recall the specifics .. it was like .. he ran out of seed potatoes .. so he heads over to the neighbor .. just to see .. if there might be anything left over .. something he could borrow .. to get planted ..
.. and the neighbor is happy to help a friend .. thinks his bourbon is top-shelf .. but he feels awkward drinking it all by himself ..
.. he tells him .. "I've got plenty of those potatoes .. and it's a good thing you stopped by .. because if you hadn't .. I would have just tossed them" .. you know how it is .. when things go south .. they're useless .. and there's no point in trying to fix them later ..
.. then the guy starts making excuses .. talking about how many he actually had but then .. something happened .. specifically last year .. and the year before .. some terrible stuff .. neighbors were coming around .. looking at him sideways .. judging him .. and it was constant ..
.. but the neighbor knows this guy was never someone you could rely on .. and it bugs him a little that he's lying through his teeth .. but what really gets to him is how he drags everything out into these pointless, trivial tangents ..
.. he says ..
.. and nothing about the bourbon?
.. he just wants to hear the one thing that actually matters .. that the bourbon is good ..
Death is the new god. in Philosophy ·
.. every change is—at its core—a shift in existence... which essentially means a shift in how things unfold..
.. this could be anything... a change in the way a person exists... or the way a social system functions..
.. and in both cases, it implies a restructuring of the pyramid—which I view as channels for energy flow... in an individual, centered in the brain... in society, centered in hubs of power..

.. death is tied to something... what is referred to in magic as... falling silent..

.. when discontent arises within a society... that discontent will only be resolved as effectively as the society itself has the strength to sink..
.. as we head toward the bottom, the seeds of discord become smaller the closer we get to... death..

.. every war resolves various imbalances, and every one is—in a sense—divine, though they don't all reach the same depth. Some are entirely superficial—take our recent conflict to separate ourselves from our neighbors just so we can live in peace and unity within the West... alongside them..

.. revolutions possess greater depth... and thus, the work of a revolution can carry more weight than a mere change of state. Action outweighs speech... thought outweighs speech... and silence can hold the greatest power of all..
.. I suspect Marx understood that money would eventually become a spirit, but I don't think he ever imagined it could become a god of this magnitude. His focus remained on labor—that’s where he sought the logic of contradiction..

.. wherever they find themselves—both individuals and societies—they always want one thing: for the situation to improve..
.. it would be quite incredible to expect anyone to actually want things to get worse..
.. everyone hopes that... this current moment... is a turning point..
.. but... the present moment is simply existence... existing within the scheme... within the template of current powers..

.. it is only if the situation worsens that certain connections might begin to snap... only then can we truly see how unstable the system is..
.. because... the top of the pyramid is always the last thing to fall..
.. both in a regime and in a human being..
.. at the peak of a person are their beliefs... their attitudes... their self-image... their perception of... normalcy..

.. the seers say... understanding is brought forth from hell, which means..
.. you have to go deep—and you have to be able to live there. You have to remain composed enough to actually see... what is happening around you... to assess what is driving these events... and which laws they follow..

.. in a democracy, politics becomes a continuous cycle of changing things without actually changing anything..
.. among people, it becomes talk—what they call dialogue. Talk is a magic wand; we can talk our way out of anything..
.. in a person, it is thought. Through thinking, one attempts to find harmony... the balance between man, nature, and the filth of the world..

.. but the real solution is to stop... to be silent..

.. even as a tactical maneuver... workers are the foundation of any regime; as long as they perform their duties, the regime survives..
.. I believe it is possible to demand the suicide of another if you yourself are prepared for death—and to actually receive that suicide..
.. and a similar thing can be demanded of oneself..
