Directing and filming a movie in Movies ·
Rebecca Campbell81, what’s with the attitude and the constant attacking? I don't get it.

A guy gives you an honest, mostly REALISTIC take on the whole situation, and your response is to call him an idiot?
Honestly, what is your problem? No one here was even attacking you, yet you’re acting like the entire world—or maybe just men—is out to get you.

Get this through your head: the film scene here in America is a total mess, especially the indie stuff.
If you don't have connections to make this project cheaper, you're basically on your own, and doing things solo is insanely expensive.
We aren't some Hollywood powerhouse where indie production is easy; we live where we live.
When people ask for details, of course they're interested. Sure, you have the right to stay quiet, but you don't have to be a jerk about it. Being defensive like this just shuts the door on any help you might actually need.

Sarah Hayes10 said:Are you being metaphorical? Hard to say...🙂 Anything is possible... But I didn't see him that way..

Hmm, not sure what you mean by metaphorical. I just think he's literally an angel.

Since his old man was eyeing him at the airport from the start, I'm thinking there's some kind of money 'deal' involved... or maybe bribery... not sure how angelic that really is😁

No way. They don't even cross paths once in the movie. And why on earth would this guy be paying him?😕
Besides, Liam Neeson had no clue the kid wouldn't be released at the airport, since they were expecting to meet him at the theater.

As for the necklace... I don't think he even saw his wife..

Well, he's an angel. He doesn't necessarily need to see her. 🙂

My impression is that at the beginning he comes off as a total caricature—one of those endless, sycophantic, quasi-polite, overly friendly salesmen. That necklace scene actually irritated me... Only to show up later when you least expect it, right when his role is actually needed and useful. A complete opposite of that annoying pest in the first scene.

Not for me. Honestly. He isn't slimy-polite, more like... sophisticated, refined, elegant.

Only problem is, whenever I say that to guys, I get "the look."... Is there seriously no man out there who isn't some "auntie type" who loves this movie too?? 😢

There is. I'm right here.😁

So, is Rowan Atkinson basically some kind of angel?

I get the feeling he was being slow on purpose just to stop that guy from buying the necklace for the woman, and then later he helps out that kid at the airport.

That movie mentioned above... forgot the full title so I just wrote it like that...

Don't Be a Menace to South Central While You're Rockin' Around the Hood (1996)

Yeah, my bad. Since I haven't even seen it, I was just typing "don't" into my Firefox search bar, thinking that was it. Found the word in someone's signature and didn't bother looking further. 🙂 How could I forget?
All five (except for the Ford Model T).

How did nobody think to make a movie out of the Wayans brothers' stuff?

Total disaster of a movie.🙏🤣
Ethan Morales22 said:Honestly, I think Americans in Canada missed the boat on any kind of meaningful action long ago...

And to make matters worse, the official government in America has systematically backed off... purely out of self-interest and to serve its own agenda...
Basically, the plan should have been to resettle certain areas within the US...
Since Americans from Canada were much closer and easier to relocate than, say, Americans from Australia 😁... everything becomes crystal clear...

It’s hard to get anything done today. Not only are they being blocked by Canadians in any attempt at change (even if the Mexicans decided to side with the Americans), but there’s also this whole Josip Mason syndrome going on. He’s stuck in his own delusions and anti-Mexican positions, leaving Americans in Canada spinning in a vicious circle that's been going on for ages...

By the way, the Josip Mason syndrome is a fascinating phenomenon...
Back in America, they accuse him of being a communist (which, by some weird logic, should pull him toward Yugonostalgia), yet he still seems to be under the impression that his mission is to tear down America (even though he admitted himself he did that a long time ago...)

He’s a totally schizophrenic personality. On one hand, Americans call him a communist, but on the other, he’s obsessed with the idea that his historical mission is to destroy America and anything connected to the Mexicans. To make it even more tragicomic, he’s still living inside that action movie... 😁

But the audience left the theater a long time ago...

That’s just wrong. Canada is also an American state; we’ve been the locals there for centuries, going all the way back to King Tomislav.
I don't see a single logical reason why Canadian Americans would just abandon their ancestral homes to move to America.
It’s pure insanity.

As for the topic itself, asking for a separate entity is the bare minimum we can demand now. Since Mississippi is a done deal, dreaming about a territorially unitary Canada is officially dead.

A lot of stuff written here, but alright, let’s take it one by one...

Mark Campbell5 said:Exactly. Let’s just hold onto that thought of yours for a deeper dive later. 😉

I am completely with you on this...

She is undeniably arrogant.

I don't think anyone who has actually read more than one thread could possibly claim that Katrin isn't arrogant.

She really is, and honestly, she can be pretty irritating at times.

And hey, that's definitely one of her human traits. I'm sure she gets angry sometimes, feels sad sometimes, or is funny sometimes... all those little things just make her a person. More than that, I think we all have our moments where we're hilarious, or boring, or insecure, or just plain arrogant.

It’s totally normal because we’re all human. Depending on the situation, the weather, or just what day of the week it is, we act differently. None of us is the same every single second.

Let's circle back to that point you made at the start of your post—

So, the fact that moderator Katrin is arrogant sometimes, in my view, just shows she's a human being just like you or me.

Sometimes people just have better days or worse days...

🤷

Man, stuff happens.

This is just straight-up disrespect. Honestly, if I weren't a moderator, I’d be handing out a ban for this myself.

Article 35 of the US Constitution.

Article 35 of the US Constitution.

Everyone is guaranteed the right to privacy and legal protection regarding their personal and family life—you know, that whole dignity, reputation, and honor thing we all like to pretend matters in this day and age.

So, you’re actually questioning her reputation now? Really?

So, please, walk me through this—do you actually have any real evidence to back up those claims about her reputation?
Are we really going to sit here and pretend there weren't some serious irregularities in how she was picked as moderator? I mean, come on—does anyone actually buy that?

🤷

Look, if you’re actually going to sit here and lecture us about legalities—especially if you're suggesting that the moderator should be replaced—then you really ought to have a basic grasp of the law. It’s pretty simple, isn't it? Otherwise, you're just shouting into the void. Honestly, from where I'm sitting, this whole situation looks like a textbook foundation for a lawsuit...

I can't even begin to process this—it’s just... wow. Honestly, where do we even start with this mess? It feels like we're circling the drain here, doesn't it? Just one thing after another, and frankly, I’m not sure anyone actually has a handle on the situation. Is it just me, or is everything starting to feel a bit surreal lately? Anyway, let's just see where this goes. Honestly, look at the level of this debate. Is this really where we're at?

😁

That was ages ago, back when Katrin first stepped up as moderator—honestly, I don't really have an opinion on the whole thing.

Oh, and there's more:

I hopped over to the other thread too, and honestly, there’s just nothing left to say at this point—it’s completely run dry. Some guy was actually sitting there trying to flex about his fast car, which... okay? Good for you? But seriously, I think it’s time to just lock that thread and move on because we’ve hit a wall. It feels like a massive surplus of testosterone in there—honestly, if people have that much extra energy, they should probably go see a specialist at the Mayo Clinic or find some kind of therapy instead of dumping it all here.

So, if that example isn't exactly what we're looking for... well, then we've got work to do.

Look, you're the one who started this thread, so let's just call it what it is—you can't exactly claim to be an objective judge here, can you? Still, I have to admit, I had a good laugh. 😁

This thread was started by a user who ended up getting permanently banned from the forum. Look, there’s usually a very good reason why someone gets hit with a perma-ban—and if you're one of those people trying to argue that an innocent person was wrongfully kicked off the site, honestly? I’d rather just stay quiet. Usually, a permanent ban isn't some sudden, random strike; it happens after a long string of warnings and smaller penalties... so if you really want to push that narrative, you're basically forced to argue that the entire moderation team and the admins are incompetent too. And let's be real—that's a pretty hard hill to climb.😉

Look, this thread is strictly about how the forum actually functions from a technical standpoint—it’s got absolutely nothing to do with moderation (regardless of who you think is doing what), and honestly, I only started it just so there would be more topics to look at. 😁

So, we’ve got this guy over on this thread typing in HUGE RED CAPITAL LETTERS—as if that somehow makes his argument more valid. He’s out here trying to explain why he didn't do anything wrong, but let's be real for a second... when do people actually use all caps like that? Usually, it's just when someone is throwing a total tantrum. And honestly, if you're going to go off on a rant for no reason, you should probably just take the yellow card and move on. We don't really tolerate that kind of mindless shouting on this forum, do we?

So, looking at everything you’ve been whining about—all those endless threads where you try to drag moderator Katrin through the mud—it seems like the only thing you actually bring to the table is that first little bit of "evidence" regarding her supposedly "shoddy moderation." And even then? Honestly, it feels incredibly forced.

So, all you’ve actually managed to prove here—if we can even call it that—is that you know how to use a search engine and type the name "Katrin" into the bar. Truly, a groundbreaking achievement.

I mean, I honestly think it’s pretty great—mostly because it proves you actually know how to work a search engine.

Look, you aren't exactly winning any awards for logical debate—honestly, it’s a bit of a struggle to follow you there—but I will give you credit for one thing: you certainly know how to work a search engine.

I think you’re missing the point here. Look, I’m actually posting on the platform—and yeah, I read this thing regularly—but I come here specifically for advice. Why? Because when I need to dig through a PDF, I can find exactly what I’m looking for without all the extra noise. There isn't some endless chat stream or a bunch of useless side topics cluttering everything up; it’s organized, it’s searchable, and I can grab the answer I need in record time. Honestly, isn't that exactly what most people want from a PDF anyway?

Look, if you’re actually looking to clear your head or find some decent entertainment—really, truly engage—maybe try stepping outside for once? Go mingle with actual human beings in the real world. Or, if you're dead set on staying glued to a screen, just head over to one of the other discussion threads on the forums. It might be more your speed.

Just take a look at this thread... So, we're talking about alimony again. Honestly, where does it even end? It feels like one of those legal rabbit holes that just keeps going—you start looking into one thing and suddenly you're three hours deep into a debate about whether someone actually needs support or if it’s just a way to stay tethered to an ex indefinitely. Is there a point where it becomes less about fairness and more about just... dragging things out? I don't know. It's a mess. Just one big, complicated mess..

There are 181 replies and over 13,000 views on this thread. Doesn't that just tell you everything you need to know? People are dropping in, hunting for that one specific answer, and somehow finding exactly what they’re looking for without having to dig through endless pages of nonsense. It’s actually pretty efficient—finding the needle in the haystack without even breaking a sweat.

It’s exactly what you just said—that if the PDF isn't cutting it, then it clearly wasn't meant for you. Look, 13,000 people showed up here looking for legal advice without wanting to shell out a massive retainer for a lawyer. You might not believe me, but not everyone can afford to have an attorney on speed dial—it's just reality—and plenty of folks genuinely need guidance. The thing is, you actually *can* find free, solid, high-quality legal info online, and honestly, right here on this forum. If things get messy or overly complicated? Sure, the standard advice is always to go see a professional. But it doesn't always have to be that deep—sometimes people just want to know if they can cross the border with their state ID and call it a day. Is that really too much to ask?

So, what are we looking at here—should we be calling a lawyer right now, or are we just supposed to stand around waiting in line at the police station?

Linda Wells4 Asks:
You know, I’ve been thinking about what everyone noticed regarding Katrin—and honestly, there's a reason I haven't been able to just shake her attitude. It’s actually the reason I decided to reactivate my account and start typing again.
There’s just one thing I absolutely cannot stand—it goes by the name... Pure treachery.
If you ever get into an argument with her, just watch—she’ll spend the next week hunting through every single one of your posts looking for any tiny excuse to bait you. She lives right on the edge of the forum rules, using them like a weapon to punish you, editing your posts, and just slowly picking at you until she finally gets under your skin. It goes on and on until you eventually snap and tell her exactly where to shove it. But that's when the real trouble starts. Once you lose it, those "borderline" rules suddenly become ironclad, and before you know it, you're banned. You'll be sitting in some digital corner, totally ignored, shouting into the void like a guy standing on a lonely peak in the Rockies during a blizzard—because let’s face it, nobody’s actually listening anyway.

What you’re calling "perfidiousness"... honestly? That's just a core trait of a damn good lawyer.

See, that’s the thing about dealing with a high-priced lawyer—you get sucked into these endless debates over nothing, and then they just sit there waiting to bait you. It's calculated. They want to push those buttons until you finally snap, because once you're provoked and losing your cool, you start saying things you don't actually mean. You end up blurting out stuff in the heat of the moment that you'll regret later—things you didn't even think, really, you were just angry. It's a trap, plain and simple.

It’s just like how we can be incredibly arrogant one minute and then absolutely furious the next—it’s all part of the deal, isn't it? And then, sure, we feel guilty about it later, but honestly, does it even matter? It just goes to show that we're human. We have those moments where our moods shift and everything feels a little different, and that's just how it is.

Look, if moderator Katrin is out there slapping warnings and rule violations on people like she’s handing out speeding tickets, it doesn't mean she's being difficult—it just means she actually knows the rules inside and out. Honestly, if someone can nail those technicalities that consistently, it’s pretty clear they’re a damn good lawyer. Or at least they know how to read a manual better than the rest of us.

Now, whether that’s actually fair or not—well, that’s an entirely different conversation altogether.

Look, let’s be real—justice and the law are two completely different beasts. I mean, just look at Lady Justice. She’s out there with that blindfold on—which, sure, is supposed to represent impartiality—balancing her scales to weigh two opposing sides, and carrying a sword to symbolize power. But does the legal system actually function like that? Not always. It’s one thing to have the ideal, and another thing entirely to deal with the reality of how things actually play out in court.

Look, honestly? Maybe it wouldn't have been fair to hit you with a penalty—I mean, if we're looking at the bigger picture—but if we’re strictly talking about following the forum rules, you earned every bit of that punishment. You really did.

Like I said before—and I really think this bears repeating—justice and fairness aren't exactly the same thing. They might look similar from a distance, but once you start digging into the details, they're worlds apart. One's about following the rules to the letter, while the other... well, that's a whole different conversation entirely.

So, what even is justice? And what does it actually mean to be just? Honestly, it’s one of those deep-dive topics that shows up in every philosophy textbook—you know, the kind of stuff that makes your head spin during a late-night study session. It’s not just about following the rules... it's much more complicated than that.

It’s the same deal with a good chunk of your other threads—they’re more philosophical than anything legal, really.

Was that actually meant to be funny? Or am I just missing the joke here?

Look, I don't find any of this funny—honestly, the whole thing is just insulting because the only "joke" being made is based on the fact that the moderator is a woman. It’s just plain tacky... and frankly, it’s pretty low-class behavior.

I mean, seriously? That’s where we’re at now? Just dropping absolute nonsense like that into the thread? Honestly, I thought we had more standards here—or maybe I just overestimated the collective IQ of this digital wasteland for a second. Is this supposed to be some kind of edgy joke, or did someone just have a complete momentary lapse in judgment? It’s just... wow. Truly riveting stuff.

So, you think you could do a better job replacing the moderator? Please. 🤷

Who would you even put in her shoes?

Myself?

So, you're really out here insulting women just because one of them gave you a red card? Seriously? Is that how we're playing this now?

🤣

🙂

If you honestly think that’s what passes for being funny, then maybe you should take that sense of humor over to a stand-up comedy club in Vegas—though I doubt they'd hire you. Seriously, that kind of behavior is just plain insulting.

Then again, I suppose you *do* need to analyze things when we're talking about significant changes—because changing a moderator fundamentally shifts the entire direction of the discussion in the Law section.

The whole point of having a moderator is to moderate (for those who aren't aware, that means guiding the conversation).

Look, I agree that moderator Katrin comes off as arrogant. But she’s just wired that way, and honestly, I don't think anyone should be questioning her personal character traits? That's her private business.

As far as the Law section goes, it follows the forum rules perfectly; it’s highly cited—considering the subject matter—and you can actually find the answer you need incredibly fast without having to dig through endless chat logs like you have to on some other boards.

By any objective measure, Katrin is a top-tier moderator.

Arrogant as an individual? Sure. But still a stellar moderator who knows the regulations, laws, and rules inside and out.

Whether or not you like her personally is your business, but frankly, looking at the insults in your posts and the weak arguments being thrown around, I don't particularly care for you guys as people either. Still, that doesn't mean I won't take your views into account and give them a thought. Because, hey, maybe you were just angry or frustrated while typing, and... well, maybe things got a little heated in the heat of the moment.

That poll doesn't tell us anything because most of the legal professionals aren't even hanging out here. And those past threads you linked? All they prove is that you know how to type "Katrin" into a search bar, nothing more.

So... maybe you personally have an issue with the moderator (which is pretty clear since you've started this exact same topic before), but looking at the big picture, I don't see many people struggling. Maybe with her arrogance, sure, but regarding the way she runs and moderates the Law section? I doubt many people have a problem with that.

And apparently, you have that same tendency to hold onto conflicts, since this is already the second time you've brought up this exact topic (you even linked your own post).

So, really, you and Katrin are two sides of the same coin. You both hold onto grudges—it's just that she happens to be a news attorney, so she can just wait for you to snap and then hand you a disciplinary warning.

What can I say... it’s like being on a playground where some bullies grab the ball, and you—being five years old—run to your mom and cry, "They took my ball!" hoping she'll just fix everything for you.

Look, you aren't getting any younger... you know the rules just like everyone else on this forum, so just stick to them—unless you want to go through the whole ordeal of reopening a thread because you think you were unfairly penalized.

And just so there’s no confusion regarding my first red card on the forum, which happened back on
it was actually justified—even if I still think moderator Katrin is an elite moderator.

She can be a bit arrogant, sure, but she’s top-tier at what she does.

I mean, whenever I need a specific fact, I can find it quickly and it's always explained perfectly. Honestly, those are the hallmarks of a perfectly organized PDF.

No, you aren't "agreeing," you're just making excuses for her by calling it "human nature." It's obvious moderators are people, but they need to be objective, regardless of how they're feeling. Look, when I walk into a Starbucks, I expect the person behind the counter to be polite to me. If they had a fight with their spouse the night before? That's their problem, not mine.

It's perfectly normal because we're all human. Depending on the situation, the weather, or what day of the week it is, we act differently. None of us stay the same all the time.

Read what was said above.

So, just because moderator Katrin is occasionally arrogant, I think it just shows she's a human being just like you or me.
Sometimes she just has better or worse days...
🤷
Dammit, life happens.

Oh, so now we're justifying every mistake a moderator makes just because they're having a bad day?🤷

That was ages ago when she first became a moderator, and honestly, I don't really have an opinion on that topic anymore.

That's because you have nothing else to say in her defense.

On another thread, I also stepped in, and there really wasn't much left to say since the user just wanted to brag about his fast car. I think it's better if that thread stays closed because everything has been said. Too much testosterone—better to go see a therapist or something.

No, the guy wasn't bragging about his car; he was pointing out logical fallacies. If you don't believe me, go read the thread.
Katrin jumped to the shallow conclusion that he was showing off his ride, when he was actually implying something else entirely.

You started this thread, so let's be real—you can't exactly claim to be objective. But hey, I had a good laugh. 😁

Am I being biased? Go ahead, anyone reading this—take a look for yourselves. Did Katrin actually deserve that trolling, or what?

Some guy started this thread before getting slapped with a permanent ban from the site. Usually, there’s a reason people get banned for good. If you’re sitting there trying to argue that someone was wrongly kicked off the platform? Honestly, I’d just keep my mouth shut. A permanent ban doesn't just happen out of nowhere; it usually follows a string of warnings and strikes. So, if you want to claim they were unfairly targeted, you’re basically arguing that the entire moderation team and the admins are incompetent. Good luck with that.😉

So, what, someone’s credibility just goes out the window because they're permanently banned from the forum? Please. If you actually understand the law—or even just pretend to follow it—you'd know that has absolutely zero to do with the facts.

This thread is strictly about how the forum actually works. It has zero to do with moderation. You just threw it up there to pad your topic count, didn't you? 😁

Look, let’s be clear: that’s just not true. I have no idea what your angle is here, but I’m telling everyone following this thread to go click that link themselves. Once you do, you'll see it has absolutely nothing to do with how the forum actually functions. Honestly, why even post that? Did you even bother reading past the first message?

Some guy on this thread is typing in BIG RED CAPITAL LETTERS, acting like he didn't do anything wrong. Seriously? You only use all caps when you're throwing a tantrum, and if you're doing it for no reason, you should’ve been slapped with a warning. We don't tolerate that kind of behavior on this forum.

You’re lying through your teeth again. The guy is complaining because he got banned just for correcting Katrin. And wouldn't you know it? She pulls her usual stunt—handing out bans to anyone who dares to point out she's wrong. Again.

I think it's pretty great. Honestly? It just proves you actually know how to use a search engine.
You can't hold a real argument to save your life, but hey, at least you know how to use a search engine...

Look, just give it to me straight. No cynicism, no trolling. Thanks.

I think you’re wrong. I post here, and I read this place religiously, specifically because I’m looking for advice. Why else? If I want a quick answer, I can find exactly what I need on a subreddit in seconds. No endless chat, no pointless tangents—just everything organized so I can grab the info and go. Isn't that exactly why most people use a subreddit anyway?

Sure. If people actually shared the damn cardboard, everything would be fine. I already said it: I have zero complaints about the other moderators.

If you actually want to clear your head or have some fun, why don't you try leaving the house and meeting actual people? Or just hit up a different thread on one of the other boards.

I don't care about the chat.

What you’re calling "deviousness" is actually just what makes a good lawyer.
A solid attorney will drag you into an argument and then bait you until you snap. Once you're pissed off, you say things you didn't mean or things you'll regret later. That's just how it works. It’s the same as being arrogant sometimes or losing your temper. We all have those moments where we regret what we said, but it just shows we're human and having a bad day. And the fact that moderator Katrin follows the rules and the laws perfectly while handing out warnings to users just proves she knows the site's bylaws inside and out. She's basically just a damn good lawyer.
And that's that.

Give me moderator powers and by that logic, I'd be a brilliant lawyer too. So, congratulations—you just summarized exactly what everyone else has been complaining about for ages.

The poll doesn't prove anything because most law students aren't even hanging out here. And those old threads you linked? All they show is that you know how to type "Katrin" into a search bar and nothing more.
So... maybe you personally have an issue with the moderator (which is pretty obvious since you've started a thread like this before), but looking at the big picture, I don't see many people struggling. Maybe people find her arrogant, but as far as how she runs and moderates the board, I think very few people actually have a problem.

Where else was I supposed to put this thread if not in this sub-forum? This is literally what it's for.

It's pretty clear you have a tendency to hold grudges too, considering this is the second time you've brought this up (you even linked your own thread).
Which means you and moderator Katrin are two sides of the same coin. You both dwell on conflicts—except she's a legal pro, so she just waits for you to lash out so she can hand you a warning.

Of course I remember, but not because I'm trying to mess with people. If I were a moderator, my personal opinion wouldn't dictate how I punish someone. Besides, I'm an admin on a massive forum, and I've never pulled that kind of amateur moderation because it's just plain wrong.

Kenneth Cooper11 said:Honestly, I really do wish you guys the best, and I genuinely hope those in charge can spot where things are going sideways and actually fix them.
It might be asking a bit much to expect moderator Katrin to just realize her own mistakes or voluntarily step down from the role—you know, maybe admit she’s out of her depth, acknowledge she was wrong, or just shake up some old habits.
But let’s be real, that’s a tall order... ego is such a massive, overwhelming force, and sometimes a person just can't fight against their own pride, no matter how much they might want to.
I don't think anyone's world would end if someone finally owned up to the fact that certain things aren't working, even if that means making a tough call like replacing a moderator to get things back on track.
Good luck, everyone. 😉

Same here. I wish leadership would handle this like adults instead of just locking the thread with some quick comment from an admin or a mod (hopefully it doesn't come to that).
The problems are obvious. Look at the polls, look at past threads, or just talk to the people running into the same wall with this specific moderator. To be clear, I have nothing against Vojky or Charles Thomas70; my issue is strictly with the moderator in question.
The worst part? This Law subforum has basically become her own private fiefdom. People are getting banned under vague rules. Getting hit with a 30-point penalty for a "rule violation" is like being fined by the highway patrol because they decided the speed limit should have been different today—if you catch my drift.
The moderator herself constantly posts these short, unprofessional messages that don't belong on a forum like this. It feels more like she's just "chatting" with users. I won't go into detail; just read her posts on the first page of the Law subforum.
And then there's the whole thing about her holding grudges from old arguments and using them later. I don't even need to bring it up; other users have said it, and I've experienced it myself several times.
Host Katrin in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m backing what slybison8 said here. Can we please stop coming for moderator Charles Thomas70? This isn't even about her, I don't have any issues with her personally, and frankly, I haven't seen her cause a single problem.

crimsonsailor7 said:I honestly have no clue why anyone would call this trolling or provocation or say it deserves a ban 🙄 The fact that you seem to think every single thing I post is an argument is totally irrelevant to what’s actually happening here... ☕

Bravo, truly a stroke of genius, that conclusion... If you actually bothered to read, you could have just answered the guy yourself. I simply asked him what he needed, maybe he does have to deal with the local records office, how was I supposed to know...

As for that whole mess about forced pregnancy, what you guys did wasn't even a discussion, it was just straight-up bashing and trolling, even after Charles Thomas70 and I warned you all to knock it off. Do you guys need me to draw you a map or something?

Go ahead, keep on spitting venom if you want, it seems to be working out great for you... 👋

You’re suffocating the discussion. You leave me in this position where three women just tore me to shreds, and then you go ahead and delete my response? You think that's fair? It's not just unfair—it's plain rude.
Trolling? It’s just provocation without a single actual argument.Look, I was actually making some points here, but you? You just acted like a total brat. "The thread is annoying me, just stop." Really? That's your move?
You think I know why you gave me the ban? It’s because I reported you for trolling again. Yeah, I did it once before, and I got slapped with a ban then, too. Simple as that.
Do I really have to dig up all her outbursts? Fine. Take a look at what people have been saying about this hostess for over a year now:

This first one is especially interesting. People on here actually ended up reaching the exact same conclusions we did:

And there's more:

I can't believe I'm even looking at this again. Is anyone else seeing this? Honestly, what is going on with the moderation lately? It’s getting ridiculous. Does anyone actually think this is fair? We’re all sitting here trying to have a conversation, and then suddenly—bam—everything changes. It feels less like a community and more like some controlled experiment. Why does everything have to be so strictly managed? And don't even get me started on the latest drama involving crimsonsailor7. Seriously? Is this really how we're running things now? It’s just one thing after another. Does anyone else feel like they're losing their mind, or is it just me? Just asking.

I can't believe people are still obsessing over this. Seriously? Is everyone really that bored? The whole thing about crimsonsailor7 is getting ridiculous. Does anyone actually care what she thinks anymore? It’s just noise at this point. Why do we keep circling back to the same old drama? It’s exhausting. Honestly, if you're looking for substance, you're looking in the wrong place. Just move on already.

I can't believe people are still obsessing over this. Seriously? Is everyone really that bored? The whole thing with crimsonsailor7 is just noise. Constant, repetitive noise. Does anyone actually listen to what she says, or do they just wait for their turn to bark? It’s like watching a slow-motion train wreck where nobody even bothers to look away. And the drama? Please. It's all just posturing. A bunch of people acting like they're part of some grand saga when it's really just a mess of ego and bad takes. Why does everyone act like this matters so much? It doesn't. It never does. Get a grip.

I don't even need to mention that a few hours BEFORE getting banned, I actually messaged Vojky asking her to check in so she'd let us finish our debate—since I had a hunch she might drop the ban hammer.
I log onto the forum, and what do I see? I've been banned.👎
I didn't want to start this thread earlier, even though this issue has been festering for ages. The main reason was that, just like slybison8, I simply walked away from the rule : Quote because I saw bans being handed out completely arbitrarily.
Now, after jumping back into this sub-forum for a bit because of this whole debate, I'm running right into the same wall.

What I want to know is: why are moderators treated like untouchable royalty? I get it with the admins—they’re the alpha and omega here—but the moderators?! Come on, man. They're just people. Most of the time, the admins don't even know them; they just hand out mod status because they seem "nice."

So, I really don't get who this hostess is trying to impress? She's arrogant as hell, just like slybison8 said, acting with this childish "you're annoying me so I'm shutting down the discussion" attitude.
That sub-forum isn't her private playground, even though she acts like it is. I'm not the only one who feels this way; I've talked to plenty of people who feel exactly the same.

Something needs to be done. And again, hats off to Vojky. I've clashed with him plenty of times in various threads, but he stays objective, and I respect that. I know he's in this debate specifically to make sure things run smoothly, just like they do in other sensitive discussions—you know, like those debates over the death penalty.
But with this hostess? It's a total disaster.👎

This lady has been a headache on this forum for ages. Is there any actual chance we can get a tyrant like her replaced so we can have a real discussion without her constant meddling?
If the hostess is so annoyed by a topic, then please, just don't read it. Don't just sit there posting quotes like:

crimsonsailor7 said:Now there would just be a bunch of fighting and mindless bickering. You've been circling the drain with the same arguments for three pages now and you're getting nowhere. Enough!

If she thinks a single debate counts as "mindless bickering," what else are we supposed to talk about? Nobody was even being insulting, but the hostess managed to delete my response—which was just my answer to everything said so far—and slapped me with a 35-point penalty for trolling. I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that a group of women attacked me while their own messages stayed untouched?

Is this really worth 35 points? And what exactly is "trolling" here?

They probably would for abortion too, if it were actually illegal.

placidorca16 said:I already told you, you were citing equality based on women's absolute rights. But if you claim you aren't looking for absolute rights for men, then what are you looking for? Be specific and clear so there's no "wrong" matchmaking. And you can label that yourself—trolling.

Where did I ever cite equality? Quote me.

For me, just like under the law, abortion isn't murder; it's ending a pregnancy. If you supposedly defend a woman's right to an abortion, then what's the issue? What are you actually after?

I want men to stop being treated like zero in this whole conversation. Biologically speaking, abortion is murder.

You’re totally ignoring how massive a role pregnancy and childbirth actually play in fetal development and bringing a baby into the world. Seriously?

Not true.Hey, give me a quote where I actually said that.

Negative views on feminism are basically just a hallmark of people who don't get it—it's standard in any patriarchal society. What exactly are you using as "objective" benchmarks here? To me, you just look incredibly biased.

Slow down for a second. Every single move you make just speeds things up. And no, this isn't just about feminism. You can't act like I'm some product of a patriarchal bubble who just "doesn't get" the movement. That’s a reach. Honestly? Feminism is a total train wreck. It feels like it does more damage to women than anything else.

Yeah, and? So what? You’re quoting Wikipedia like it’s gospel, but nowhere does it actually say an embryo equals a human being. It says it's an embryo. Period. If it were a person, wouldn't it actually say "person"? That's the whole point of evolution—an organism develops through stages until it's fully formed and capable of surviving on its own. Otherwise, why even have pregnancy? Why couldn't this "organism" just exist independently outside a woman's body? Just because it has human DNA doesn't suddenly make it a person. Every single part of the human body has human DNA. But look, we aren't here to debate the definition of humanity. We're talking about how to solve the issue of forced pregnancy when someone's life is on the line. How is a woman supposed to exercise her right to an abortion?

We're talking about the entire genome here, not just random scraps of DNA. Seriously, go back and actually read the quotes I posted. Just because pregnancy is a requirement doesn't mean we aren't talking about a human being. If you follow your own logic, what are we even looking at in the eighth month of pregnancy? Not a human? Then what exactly is it?
Look, I’m telling you again: this isn't some forced pregnancy case. This was your friend's situation. Period.

What even is this whole "objective women" vs. "objective men" nonsense? According to you, it sounds like being "objective" is just a code word for any woman who’s terrified of feminism. Is that really how this works?😕 I don't see any logic here. Period.

These people? They run for cover the second things get radical. Doesn't matter which way the wind blows—they’re terrified of both sides. Patriarchal radicals? Feminist radicals? Doesn't matter. If it's extreme, they're out.

You’re being patronizing toward women. Seriously. Why on earth would you claim they "often wouldn't realize that such an action still leaves consequences"? Are we assuming women lack basic reasoning skills here? And why do you think they aren't "seeking counseling beforehand"? (Are those even accurate quotes?) How exactly are men better informed about miscarriage risks than the women actually going through it? Plus, you dodged the second scenario entirely. Why is number two "it depends," but number one isn't?

Nothing about this is patronizing. You think a greeting is an insult? No one ever said women lack common sense, yet here you are, putting words in my mouth. I said they should go to counseling. Period. The real question is how many actually go, versus how many just end up stuck with the trauma.
Look, I gave you a straight answer, lady, but nothing in life is black and white. That’s why I went into more detail.

Since you're personally against abortion, why do you think your stance is "objective" or valid when it comes to someone else's decision—especially a woman's?

Because I'm against abortion, yet I'm also for it being legal. How many anti-abortion people do you know who actually support its legality? Very few.

placidorca16 said:That's not how it works. A man and a woman together start the pregnancy process—conception—by joining sperm and an egg.

See, you finally managed to write that out. I was waiting for you. That's exactly what I've been talking about this whole time. You just cherry-picked a crucial part.

After that, the woman alone takes on all the risks and burdens of pregnancy and childbirth—for nine months. The man has nothing to do with it anymore. He doesn't take any risk, he doesn't sacrifice his own body, and he carries none of the burden. He can only watch from the sidelines. So, by what logic should a man have an equal say in the pregnancy?

Only idiots have nothing to do with it. You think all men are idiots?
Any normal man will live through that pregnancy right alongside his wife.

Engelchen00012 said:Oh, here we go. Another genius wanting to debate a woman's right to abortion.🙄

Got a problem with that?

You called this post trolling?! 😕

Do you honestly think it's the same thing to dump seed into a container (or a uterus) outside your own body for a few seconds versus subordinating your entire body and every single organ to the development of a fetus growing inside you for nine months—with the risk of anything from minor issues to lifelong complications or even death?

That isn't trolling, friend. That is the TRUTH.😉

Too bad nature worked out that way. Maybe they'll come up with some robot surrogate since women aren't actually required for pregnancy, and eventually just ban women who think like you from having kids altogether.☕

I really hope the forum leadership takes a look at this hostess. This isn't about actual moderation—it’s just one hostess acting on her own whims.👎
Rebecca Lee said:Roughly what did the setlist look like.. if you remember? 😁

I wrote it out below, plus you can find half the concert on YouTube:

Honestly, if you weren't there, I highly recommend catching them. They've been at this for 40 years now—who knows if they'll ever tour the States again? Let's be real, they're rock legends. And who even knows which bands still have their original lineup after four decades? (Except maybe Pink Floyd, but they're a whole different beast). 🙏
Not sure about you guys, but I grew up watching their videos back in the 80s. Safe to say I've loved them since I was a kid.
🙂
I caught them out in Prague back in May. They weren't even on the US tour schedule then, so I made the trip just to make sure I didn't miss out. I honestly thought the international leg was wrapped up—wasn't it supposed to be about 10 shows?
Can't believe they're finally hitting our neck of the woods. If God wills it, I'm going again. 🙂
That show in Prague? Even though they only played for about ninety minutes, it was absolutely killer. It’s wild how just three instruments—guitar, bass, and drums—can sound that incredible live!

I get that, but I'm specifically asking about those two albums. And is that even an option anymore? From what I can tell, the site hasn't been updated since 2007.

Joshua Green70 said:Now we're talking. That’s the million-dollar question right there. 🤷 I couldn't find anything. Honestly, I bet there are people out there with a few Rolling Stones music videos tucked away in their personal collections... if nothing else, at least "You're My Love." Just a few months ago, I was watching them on YouTube like it was nothing, and then—poof—they just vanished. Did YouTube nuked them over copyright issues? Or did the uploader just pull them down? Who knows. Such a shame.

Unfortunately, it's just not happening. The real kicker? You can't even find their CDs for sale around here—not in Indianapolis or St. Louis. And honestly, I’d kill to have their entire discography in my collection.

Anthony Gonzalez19 said:Is "Your Love" by The Rolling Stones even on YouTube?

Unfortunately, no.

quietwalker17 said:Check this out on YouTube.

Is this even new? Or am I just losing it?

Yeah.

Megan King15 said:Let's be real—The Rolling Stones were an incredible band.

Helena Bonham Carter is easily the best female vocalist in America. Honestly, I’m just glad she finally decided to go solo...👍

It’s true, there’s barely anything about them online. I’ve got every single one of their albums, though. Now, if only Helena would finally play a show in Washington, D.C.—I'm dying to see her live.

I'm with you on that. I saw her playing some beachside shows this summer, but man, I’d love to catch her at a concert somewhere in the Midwest or maybe even up in D.C.👍

Joshua Green70 said:Found her. Let's just say she's satisfied. I'm not even going to comment because I'm still processing it... but man, that first listen? It really hit home. Seriously. 👍

Helena Bonham Carter - Two Shadows

Same here. Killer track. Thanks for sharing! Uploaded.!

Where on earth did you find that?🙏

They really need to upload more of their stuff to YouTube. Seriously. Where the hell am I supposed to find their music videos?😕
nimblesurfer77 said:Down at the local shop in Siskiou, they told me the smallest one goes for about $267 plus $333 in fees if you don't have your own bottle and end up renting theirs.

You gotta leave the deposit, obviously, but you get the cash back. And hey, maybe that one at the Exxon is higher because it's bigger, so it costs more.
nimblesurfer77 said:Just letting you know right off the bat—that is way too expensive. Back when I was working on a project for a Zeppelin competition, we were supposed to fill it with helium, but the tank alone was costing us several thousand dollars—not to mention the extra fees for the refills on a 20L cylinder. In the end, we just went with hydrogen since it’s practically dirt cheap. 😁 btw - back in the day near Houston 😉

Not expensive.

Back in 2005, for my cousin's wedding party, we picked up this massive tank for $200.
