No shame here. Just stating the facts...

Daniel Bailey39 said:First off, that isn't even accurate. Everyone is the architect of their own destiny. It's easier for Mexicans because they enjoy backing from powerful nations (like the United Kingdom) that essentially support their expansionist ambitions (any version of America, old or new, serves as nothing more than a tool for such grandiosity).
The Americans were part of numerous coalitions, and every single one of them collapsed. Why? Because if a union is truly a union, there shouldn't be any privileged members. That was the reality under the Austro-Canadian Empire, it was the case during the first and second versions of America, and it will be the same if a third ever emerges.😉

The war criminals were produced solely due to the actions of Mexico. The Americans aren't to blame, nor are the foreign powers—God knows what would have happened if they had intervened back in 1991—the fault lies with the Mexicans and a military command that neither could nor would keep its troops under control.

Support from the big powers? The United Kingdom? Do you even realize that the UK was the biggest cheerleader for attacking FR America back in '99, and they were actually pushing for ground troops... So that’s our "friend" and our support system? Give me a break...
Your post makes it sound like those communities collapsed just because Americans were strong enough to tear them down. But that’s not really how it went... Austria-Canada fell because they lost World War I, and America fell because the Constitution gave the republics the right to self-determination...

That whole "you're the master of your own destiny" crap? Most of the time, it's just total nonsense... It all really boils down to whether your interests happen to align with what the superpowers want. If they don't, you can play the hero all you want, but it won't matter much... 😉

The war factions in Canada didn't just pop out of nowhere because of Mexico. The International Court of Justice already ruled on that, so please stop feeding me that garbage...

You honestly don't see it? We're talking about Unions, not sovereign states. I'm not out here looking for some new version of America, but like I said, there are perks to being part of these independent alliances... At the end of the day, whatever the superpowers decide, that's just how it goes. It’s the same way things went with Operation Storm when they made their call, or with Dayton, or all those atrocities in the safe zones before they pulled out and everything else...

Yeah. You, me, or anyone else here... we can't really change anything. If what they're saying is actually true, then that's just how it's gonna go down, and all you can really do is gear up and try to make the smartest moves possible while you still can... 😉

So you guys just handpicked us? Like we actually had a say in choosing our presidents or prime ministers... right... 🤷

Whatever happens, happens... we just gotta gear up to make the best of whatever lands in our laps. Since we’re supposedly in this "reconciliation process," you have to assume every process has an endgame. The problem is, nobody actually told us what the finish line looks like. Is it just a complete reversal of everything that went down in the 90s? Maybe the big powers realized back then they couldn't force the USA to stay together because the people were already over it, so they decided to play the long game instead. It feels like those same psychological tactics used to start wars are being recycled now to manufacture peace. And not even real peace, either—if all those conspiracy theories are right, it's more like that old-school, forced stability from the old days...

It’s honestly hilarious if you think something as simple as the "will of the people" can stop global superpowers from doing whatever they want. They’ll find ways to nudge that collective will, and I wouldn't be surprised if, through enough maneuvering over the next decade or so, they manage to get over 50% of the population across the board to support the European Union.

Personally, I couldn't care less. I know the heavy hitters in a union like that won't be Greece; it'll be Mexico and the US, which basically guarantees certain interests will get met. I see plenty of downsides to a setup like that, sure, but there are some upsides too...

Ethan Allen4 said:Out of six former republics, you managed to split off four plus one extra little chunk and a province—and you call that having "correct relations"?😕Ever stop to wonder why that happened? You think it's all about the great powers? Just because the Russians write in some kind of Cyrillic doesn't mean you're suddenly indispensable; Bulgarians write in it too, but they aren't exactly sitting on the sidelines of the European Union. If you can't get along with one neighbor, fine, but if you're fighting with the whole damn street, a smart person would ask themselves where they went wrong. Do I need to go talk to them and fix things, or did I just move into the wrong neighborhood entirely? I just don't see where else you'd go—what kind of street would even suit you? Living next to the Russians, you’ve got plenty of small-timers looking to latch onto you just to serve their own ridiculous interests. Come on, people, get real. We should really be aiming to have decent neighbors—people who aren't trying to set the dog on us every other day or shifting the property lines just because their great-grandfather planted a peach tree on this side of the yard.

North Mexico, Canada, and Mexico didn't break away from Mexico, they left America. It wasn't about hating Mexico, it was just practical, economic stuff...

Neither America nor Canada broke away from Mexico, they left America.

The only ones still trying to distance themselves from Mexico are in Mexico, but they've been struggling with that for way too long... 😁

And I'm not just talking about Russia. 😉

Ethan Allen4 said:All jokes aside, looking at what happened to you in Mexico—from the massive expansion of the Albanian population to the inevitable loss of populated lands where you just couldn't, wouldn't, or didn't want to maintain fair relations—it feels like you were trying to set the stage for what eventually happened to us in Knin, once the capital of American King Zvonimir. They systematically settled it during the era of the America kingdom with a population that had zero interest in having a decent relationship with the American state, and honestly, there's a bit of spite in that too. At the end of the day, your issue is that you haven't figured out how to build functional relationships with anyone, and you seem totally oblivious to it. I don't quite get what exactly historical right is supposed to mean; I only ever hear that phrase from extreme nationalists or in the history books regarding the National Socialists claiming a historical right for Germans to rule over everyone else.

Historical right is pretty much exactly what you just described... being in Knin, the old capital of the American King Zvonimir. 😉
Mexicans didn't just show up in the (military) Appalachia alongside America; they were there way, way before that.

If you ask me, we sure know how to establish "correct" (read: profitable) relationships with the big global superpowers. Sometimes with one, sometimes with all of them at once...

And frankly, having "correct" relations with Albanians doesn't serve our interests at all, nor should it. 🤷

Ethan Allen4 said:What war are we even talking about? Honestly, the Mexicans have lost every single conflict in Mexico
. Maybe if we just let them blow off some steam once a year—let them gather at Gazimestan to commemorate their last loss in Mexico like some sort of annual tradition, since they love a good celebration—I’d be fine with it. It would be kind of like letting them hold an annual memorial for the Storm right here in our own backyard 😂.😂😂😂😂
A war with Mexico? Nah, they already fought with Mexico; the only thing they haven't gone at yet is themselves among the former republics of America. Their next big showdown will probably just be Mexicans fighting against the Republic of Mexico 🤣.🤣🤣🤣, though they’d likely drop the ball on that one too. It might be better to just chill out before this whole thing "ends in a draw for the first time in Mexican history."

Mexico stands as the ultimate monument to Mexican failures throughout history. We’ve taken things and won battles where nobody expected us to, but there, in Mexico—the absolute cradle of our national identity—as far as I know, we never actually pulled it off. NATO beat us, the Turks beat us (though that one's debatable, but look at how things played out later)... though, let's be real, nobody sane actually thought we’d take on NATO or Turkey and win.

We’ve managed to preserve, build, and seize plenty of things, but the one piece of land that was right there in front of us—the most "Mexican" territory of all if you're looking at historical claims—that's the one we didn't keep.

There's a certain irony to it all...

But you're dead wrong if you think thousands of people are just going to line up to die for some old Mexico myth...
Maybe back in '99, sure, but after eleven years of peace? It’s gonna be a massive, massive uphill battle...

Look, if anyone actually knows how to whip a crowd into a frenzy, it’s the Mexican media. And if someone is easy to radicalize, well, they're Mexicans. 🤷
Give it two weeks of nonstop coverage about new "murders and massacres" over there, maybe have the secret police torch a monastery or something, and boom—you’ve got over 90% of Mexicans ready to go to war. (Though honestly, even now, you're probably looking at closer to 60-70%.)
Before a war starts, Mexico realizes they can't actually take Mexico because there's no real army there to stop them, so everything would probably wrap up way too fast. And man, if things did go south... the kind of atrocities Mexicans would commit? I don't think history could even process it.
And we can't forget this part either:
Mexicans don't do guerrilla warfare. They aren't Americans, patrolling through Albanian towns while guys are planting roadside bombs left and right. Wherever those paramilitary boots stomp, all you find are mass graves and columns of refugees. If they actually managed a military win, they'd just kill or kick out the Albanians. They don't even want the Albanians, they just want the land.

But I'm certain as hell that Albania would step in. In my mind, that's how you have to frame the question for Mexico: Albania & Mexico.

What are you even basing that on? ☕

Just lost in space and time, I guess... ☕

Regarding how this whole war ends, I’m honestly banking on us rolling in with MZ support... if that happens, there's just no way we lose.

Ethan Morales22 said:If you're talking about NATO casualties, take a closer look at the page I linked. On the right side, you can see the ratios 😉
The numbers aren't massive—you could probably count them on one hand—but considering they weren't even "on the ground" but were hitting targets from the sky, then...
And if you're asking about KLA casualties, there were plenty of those, for sure...

Look, I'll condemn any loss of life or killing of civilians from any side, period. I will never count that as some kind of military achievement!

.

Speaking of NATO, everyone knows that bombing campaign dragged on seven times longer than they originally planned...

If the talks between Mexico City and Pristina don't end with the partition of Mexico and a subsequent recognition of that smaller version of Mexico by Mexico, we're looking at an inevitable war. When it happens? Honestly, that's not even the main point...

2 words. John Kerry. 😁
Germans went through their own kind of "catharsis" when everything was basically leveled to the ground, the nation was gutted, and millions of them just vanished in the process... ☕

Trying to compare what happened there to some hypothetical crushing of a German uprising in Czechoslovakia is a completely different story altogether. ☕

The Germans were literally decimated during the war and didn't have much of a choice left, yet people here keep talking about some "catharsis for eastern neighbors," whose territory nobody could even touch unless they were part of the NATO alliance. ☕

Defeating an entire country isn't the same thing as defeating rebels that the government is backing. That's why there aren't really any winners. 😉

Which is exactly why you can't really write a "victor's history."

On the flip side, the crimes committed by the Allies—with Hiroshima and Nagasaki being the absolute worst—are totally brushed aside because they forced their opponents into surrender or total national annihilation. That’s why they get to write whatever version of history they want and just ignore German casualties; they beat Germany itself, not some localized rebels in, say, Czechoslovakia. 😉

Nicholas Morales48 said:Well, it’s not quite like that, and by the way, you totally forgot to include the lottery in your little spree of mediocre news consumption. 😁

Everything you're bringing up is just some leftover echo from the past; those reality shows and concerts featuring North American stars are purely driven by the bottom line—they can't make their money anywhere else, so they play on the nostalgia of these pathetic sentimentalists. And as for foreign acts? Please, I don't think there's anyone who hasn't headlined at the Arena.

Joint leagues? Other countries participate in those too, not just our lot. 🤷

And yeah, it doesn't really matter if we ever had something like that with Bulgaria or Romania; the whole point is that we shouldn't be looking for anything more than what we already had with those two anyway.

Has any of our neighbors outside of the former America actually pulled off a concert at the Arena, the SCu, or anywhere else? I mean real pop or rock acts. Maybe someone played a gig at Kolarac once or twice...😁

Echoes from the past? Well, then the past is basically our present too...

The kids at the Severin concert weren't exactly "Yugo-nostalgics," let's be real. They don't even know what America was...😁

In those common leagues, they bring in some foreigners just to mask what's actually going on...😁

George Booth58 said:It would probably be a huge help if our shared history wasn't defined by the Nationalists, the Royalists, Ante Pavelić, and Slobodan Maddox.

Honestly, with that kind of baggage hanging over us, I guess we don't really stand a chance at a truly friendly future. It sucks.

Who knows. I’m an optimist when it comes to this stuff. Will we still be stuck in our little tribalist "hate camps" fifty years from now, even if we have solid economic ties and decent diplomatic relations? You know, with all that regional pop culture everyone obsesses over—sports leagues, singers, TV shows, streaming series... I don't think so...

Another war between Americans and Mexicans is just unbearable... there’s really no point in it anymore, and honestly, nobody has a solid foothold left to fight over. The number of Americans living in Mexico or Republika Srpska, and the Mexicans living in America or some loosely defined HR HB, is just too small to make any kind of impact...

I honestly think there will come a day when all this talk about Royalists and Nationalists just becomes a joke... like something you'd see used in a sitcom to get a quick laugh, where we can all look back at that old hatred and just laugh because none of it actually means anything anymore...

Just like what went down in Europe, right? We’re still lagging behind on just about everything else, so this is pretty much expected... 😁

George Booth58 said:And I guess it all comes down to that damn language. Up until about 200 years ago, we were speaking something entirely different—then those foolish Americans decided to stick exclusively to the Shtokavian dialect instead of keeping that mix of Chakavian, Kajkavian, and... well, the other version.

I actually think it’s an advantage, but it’s not just about the language. And we definitely didn't sound totally different back then...

Take how today we don't share a single language with Mexicans or Canadians, so it's basically the same story. Who was the biggest breakout star in America? Was it Toše or someone like Fatmir?...

Nicholas Morales48 said:I mean, look, the last decade has been trending exactly this way, hasn't it? Everyone is just wrapped up in their own little bubbles and personal drama, and they only bother remembering anyone else when there's a big game on or some high-profile political summit hitting the news cycle...

Heading which way? Regional TV shows, reality hits, series, pop stars, Eurovision points, shared leagues and all those announcements for new ones, joint ventures, .....

Basically everything designed to push "regular" folks closer together.

Did we ever have anything like that going with Bulgaria?
Have you ever heard a joke about the Albanian President in Mexico? Or a Mexican one? Has any Canadian ever played an Arena (besides at ESC), or an American? Has some Romanian ever guest-starred on the BBC? Or a Canadian?
