I'm at my wit's end with my ex in Psychology ·
Megan White4 said:What household? It’s just been the two of us since my father passed away. She works, and I’m busy trying to finish my degree... 🙄

Or perhaps she's dealing with OCD...

If we're talking about hoarding—you know, piles of trash, plastic bags, old newspapers, discarded scraps—then YES, that is textbook OCD.

As for your living situation—forget it. You aren't going to change her. It's impossible. Just tolerate it as much as you can and focus on finishing that degree. If you're in your fourth year and only have six and a half months left, plus another six months to wrap up your thesis, you'll be a free man by the end of 2008.

You're lagging a bit behind here—you're a grown man now. There comes a point where the urge to finally move out of your parents' place becomes so intense it starts driving you absolutely insane.

Generally speaking, kids in America stay under their parents' roof way too long. On one hand, you've got unemployment and those sky-high rents in cities like Chicago or NYC, but on the other, parents want to help so much—they make things so comfortable—that it's easy for kids to just stay put. But then, because it's unnatural, they start nagging and guilt-tripping you anyway...

Just remember: you stopped being a kid a long time ago. This isn't your place anymore—which is exactly why you're getting on her nerves, and she's getting on yours. Once that degree is in your hand, it's time to cut ties and move on.

Like a Zen proverb says, there comes a day when even the most peaceful tool must break,
much like a matchstick that starts the fire, only to be consumed by the flame itself.

Brothers and sisters within the All One,
I simply must depart from this forum once and for all!

The realization has finally hit me, and since some things are better left unsaid,
it’s best to take my leave with grace and dignity.

As Big Manit always says: life is meant to be a game and a joy,
so I refuse to spend any more precious time here on trivialities.

Please forgive me for being such a nuisance and a bother,
but even this loud, barking voice must finally fall silent.

Douglas, traveler,

these are lines by Rumi that Shadow left in the Sufi poetry thread.
They capture the headspace of all true seekers—and you're definitely one of them.
I hope they resonate with you, and maybe shed some light on why the search for Bogey feels like such an uphill battle...

You aren't actually a hunter pursuing Me; you're just a servant at My feet.

You devise ways to draw closer, yet you don't truly know how to leave Me or how to seek Me.

This frantic searching is exactly what causes your suffering; I heard your heavy sighs last night.

It is within My power to end this waiting, to show you the Way and grant you entry.
To free you from the cycle of time and finally reveal the treasure of becoming one with Me!

But the sweetness of rest is always proportional to the hardships of the journey.

Only when you endure the blows of pain and the trials of exile will you truly appreciate returning home.

Intellectual Enlightenment and Suffering

Someone really hurt my feelings last night. When I woke up this morning, I was completely stuck in a "dualistic" perspective—there was just no way to "break out" of it. I tried everything—trying to manually "click" back into consciousness, obsessively reciting all my "insights" and "knowledge," focusing, breathing, meditating... nothing worked! Then panic set in—I honestly thought I’d be trapped there forever. Eventually, things started settling down, and I realized that as the day progressed, I had the ability to "click" back at any moment. This isn't the first time an emotional shock has knocked me right back into that dualistic state.

I read everything you wrote. Your pain and your current state of confusion—it really hit home.

You are so brilliant, and you have such heart and intuition. You're a truly good person. A complete soul.
The most important thing is that you are honest with yourself.
They say that being honest with oneself with mathematical precision is what creates a seer.
When a person sees and hears clearly, the Master begins to speak from within in the third person.

By tomorrow, you’ll feel like a new person. A pametnica like you doesn't stay down for long.
gentlefox18 said:I honestly feel like people in this world carry far too much influence over one another, especially since they seem to have no concept of the weight of their actions or the damage they can inflict. Take a former classmate of mine, for example. pick on him relentlessly, yet if I were to step in and defend him, I’d likely end up being targeted and insulted right along with him. I find myself searching for just one decent person—someone who actually understands the gravity of what they're doing—but there's nobody to be found... I look around and I simply can't believe it. It's baffling how people can be so incredibly thoughtless, failing to use even a shred of logic or consider how their behavior affects someone else. Out of a hundred people, I can't find a single soul with any empathy. Then I come home, replay the whole scene in my head, and wonder again. It makes me genuinely worried about where this country is headed.
Of course, I’ve been guilty of hurting someone before, but never for sport; it was driven by pure malice. Honestly, seeing someone suffer like that fills me with such intense regret that it feels as though the pain is happening to me personally.
Where are these people supposed to turn for help? To a psychiatrist who witnesses these exact scenarios every single day, amidst the tragic reality of the suicide rates we see, or should they just be left to rot? Try stepping into their shoes for a moment; imagine being mocked by everyone around you multiple times a day, and then have some stranger act like they just landed from outer space, acting shocked that people resort to suicide. I truly hope there are still enough good people left in America who actually think about the consequences of their actions.

Changing the world starts with the man in the mirror...

To "fit in," you're basically letting that friend get dragged through the mud just so they don't come for you next.
If being targeted is the price for showing basic humanity, then you're better off standing alone than being "socially accepted" by a crowd like that.

What are you actually afraid of? Rejection, most likely.

Once you kill that fear, you finally become an individual. Staying true to your conscience and being yourself comes with a cost—specifically, the cost of not following the mainstream.
But as Ernest Hemingway once suggested—there's warmth in the crowd, but it stinks....

Richard Walker79, this was your little song:

Now comes the holy guru,
with a storm inside his head, it’s true.

"I will save you all," he claims with pride,
yet he can't even wipe his shoes properly, side by side.

He says he knows how to think, act, and be,
"Follow me, slaves, through mental misery."

Since I am the best, holy and grand,
I'll be cloned across the land.

So more people can think just like Master John,
our dear enlightened guru, moving along.

Just a heads-up—plenty of people here read your stuff without saying a word. Honestly, watching you guys trade insults is entertaining to a point, but it’s starting to look like a total soap opera.

Don't take this the wrong way—I'm not trying to lecture you—but when an outsider watches you and reads these posts, they can't help but wonder if you have some unresolved issues with your father.

It feels like you've crossed a line where what should be a philosophical or spiritual discussion has become deeply personal and emotional for you—and because of that, you're losing all objectivity.

You really ought to ask yourself who you're actually fighting. You gave that guy everything you had, and now he's distanced himself from you. He doesn't come to you anymore, and you aren't even allowed to approach him. Your poems make it obvious you're looking for a sequel... A person watching you closely has to wonder why such a bright guy—someone clearly dealing with Zen and showing signs of spiritual intelligence—is losing his mind over some internet guru and making it his life's mission to "expose" him.

It’s impossible to wrap your head around it unless your dad gets pulled into this whole soap opera.

No hard feelings 🙂
don't let your ego get bruised
I'm just offering a different perspective.

So, from now on, whenever someone tries to start a private conversation, I'm just going to redirect them to my email or Messenger—because clearly, even PMs aren't truly private. People ask me why anyone would bother snooping through my private messages? BECAUSE THEY CAN.

I knew a guy about ten years ago who ended up in some FBI files just because of stuff on his computer. No actual reason—just because they could. They didn't even need anything from him...

Bottom line: none of you actually know why both of my green status lights were glowing at once, or why one was lit up when I wasn't even logged into the forum.

Anyway, everything's fine now... thanks.

And now Amanda Roberts21 has gone silent 🙂
Probably because she finally found an explanation...............

Look, honey, it’s not that—I just started deleting my posts immediately, and that was that. It isn't some conspiracy theory; it was just the first thing that came to mind. I don't think it's even possible for both accounts to show as active when I'm only logged into one. As for my previous account—let's say Amanda Roberts21—I wasn't even logged in; my laptop was shut down entirely.

It actually ticked me off a bit because I had some private conversations in there, but whatever... fine. From now on, I'm deleting everything instantly and just sticking to email for private chats. Thanks for the replies.

So, I opened the forum homepage this afternoon without even logging in—just browsing—and I saw my username right there, showing me as logged in. Naturally, I panicked. I reinstalled everything, restarted my entire computer, and when I checked again, the status still said I was online. Then, I tried logging in with a different account, and both profiles were showing up as active at the same time!

What on earth does that mean?
My mind immediately goes to the worst-case scenario—that someone might be hacking into my email or messing with my accounts. Is that actually possible?

Are you absolutely certain that what you experienced is actually what you think it is? Or is it perhaps something else entirely—something you haven't quite grasped yet? Look, if it makes you feel good—if it's enough to make you finally ditch that AK-47 or automatic pistol from your avatar (which, let's be honest, is a pretty loud statement to be making to the world)—then maybe, just maybe, it's a path worth following...🙂 🙂 🙂

And wouldn't you agree, Moderator, that people at that age tend to act just like children?

bluebison70, I love you too—well, I mean, you're a dear.. 😉

I highly doubt he's actually 90. He's just playing a part—the guy is clearly some young buck in his prime.

Depression is basically just a defense mechanism—a way to numb everything so you don't have to feel the sting.
In that sense, being depressed is actually a neurotic little win for the ego.

If you just open yourself up to everything—don't reject a single thing—you'll finally see how to crawl out of that hole.
Just say "yes" to life, and you'll see how things start looking up...

Saying yes to life doesn't mean just welcoming the good stuff; it means embracing the grief, the pain, the disappointments, the sheer stupidity, the insecurity, the love, the laughter, and the tears—all those contradictions that actually give this world its color.

When it starts hurting, that’s your signal—that’s when you know you’re actually making progress.

And once you start laughing again (because let's face it, most of this is total nonsense), that's when you'll know you've truly escaped that black hole—staying in there is just an easy way to die slowly on credit rather than actually getting up and fighting.

Look at bluebison70—she clawed her way out of her rut, said "I'm hurting," and immediately Amanda Roberts21 was right there waiting with kisses...
Richard Walker79 said:Let’s skip the endless debate over who’s right or wrong. Just lay out what you’ve learned. Put your insights into words, no matter how they come out. I promise, those of us who have been through it will get exactly what you mean.

1. The realization that nobody actually owns anything—not even their own body. It means we either possess everything or absolutely nothing at all.

Yeah... it's a hell of a question.
Honestly, you can boil this whole thing down to two fundamental axioms that seem to clash head-on:

Aham Brahmasmi—meaning "I am the All" (the Universe, God...)
and
Neti Neti—the idea that "nothing belongs to me."

If I am everything, then everything is mine...

But that "everything"—that divine essence I supposedly am—is actually nothingness; just empty space where energy vibrates at certain frequencies on a 3D level.

How could anyone possibly "own" something that is, at its core, just energy vibrating at a specific frequency?

You aren't going to find an answer to this using our standard 3D minds.
To actually grasp this, you need a glimpse into a higher reality.
