I don't think the Ferrari is even the strongest car on the grid right now

Sebastian Vettel just can't seem to hold it together when things get intense—it’s such a shame we aren't seeing Kimi Räikkönen driving on equal footing at Ferrari, because he’d leave that arrogant German in the dust in no time...

stormytiger4 said:That's a whole different story—Mercedes just doesn't have that dominant car this year, so grabbing a win isn't exactly a walk in the park anymore. Plus, even people who don't take the backmarkers seriously wouldn't argue against the idea that he isn't the second driver.

Yeah, but the only reason he's sitting in second is because he's actually slower than Hamilton—not because the team sat down and decided to prioritize one guy over the other right from the jump like some other teams do.

From what I can see under that section— Wins! It says 3—which is basically 43% of what Ricciardo makes, or maybe 75% of Verstappen’s salary. Honestly, can those guys even compete at that level anymore? 🤔

He’s had two easy wins this season—but they both slipped away! One where he played it way too safe on the brakes and ended up letting Hamilton past at Silverstone—and another where his tire just gave out a couple of laps before the finish in the US.

We had three of them back in the day—this year? Zero. Honestly, it feels like the big players just aren't showing up to compete this season.
crimsonhawk23 said:Lately, it’s getting pretty obvious he isn't happy playing the role of the loyal #2 driver—it's plain to see. Every interview feels a bit on edge (honestly, I'm just waiting for him to lose it and slap someone who asks one too many pointed questions 😁). On track, he's starting to get aggressive, almost trying to take out Vandoorne, and he's struggling with braking—just slamming right into the Williams... 🤔

A total meltdown is coming if they don't let him grab a win at least once. It’s really just a matter of whether that happens soon or toward the end of the season 🤣🤣

If Bottas actually had what it takes to win, he would have done it by now

I don't really get why everyone's laughing—it's two different things. It’s one thing when you have a clear No2 from race one, like how Ferrari handles Kimi, but it's another when you just let them race; though, the skill gap is so obvious here that eventually, you have to tell the slower driver they're officially the wingman—their whole job becomes helping their teammate grab points away from the direct rival.

Besides, once Mercedes pulls the trigger, there's going to be so much drama—mostly because Bottas will probably just end up messing with Vettel. Ferrari can't play that card since Kimi is generally faster than Vettel, so the red team has to figure out how to let Kimi go after Hamilton without him accidentally outperforming Vettel. That's basically why Kimi looks the way he does right now...
Robert Cox46 said:Aside from his own mistake spinning out in Germany—which was totally on him—you can't really blame the driver for how things went in Canada and Belgium. It’s pretty clear Mercedes-Benz just has the superior setup for rain and cold tracks.

I mean, they have pace in the dry too—it's just that Vettel is such an overachiever that he makes up for it.

Honestly, I don't know what else it takes for people to realize that once you minimize the car's impact, Vettel is just a tier below the top guys.
mellowtiger83 said:Now that Hamilton's fans are busy trolling Vettel, I’m pretty sure Vettel is going to win—and his fans are going to be absolutely celebrating all over this forum.

Go ahead—try and find one single time in the last four years where I actually claimed Mercedes was the weaker team... seriously. Besides, there's really no reason to mock Vettel—he's proven what a beast he is, even if things got a little messy once that rain started falling a few races back...
stormybadger8 said:Hamilton will definitely go for it... I mean, we already know Mercedes wasn't having any trouble cutting Bottas loose before—not to mention now that Toto has basically gone public with the idea.

On the flip side, Ferrari might want to make a move, but I honestly doubt they could actually pull it off.🤦
They might even try, but knowing how clumsy they can be, they'll probably mess up the timing—either by putting someone else between him and Vettel, or Vettel will just outpace him before he even gets a chance at a slipstream, making the whole thing a total disaster...

Yeah, true—Kimi would get the job done, but Vettel just isn't capable of making the most of it... so they won't even bother trying.
crimsonhawk23 said:Anything other than a total Ferrari takeover (P1 and P2) would be a shocker. Hamilton 3rd Place, Bottas 4th Place.

Everyone’s acting like an expert once the dust settles :P. Honestly, even before the break, it was pretty obvious Mercedes was struggling—they just got lucky when Vettel pulled off that amazing drive in the rain. I was really hoping they'd figure out how to catch up to Ferrari, but watching them at Spa was just plain sad.

Any thoughts for the poll??

It’s pretty wild how Ferrari went all-in on supersofts here. Super aggressive move—just like Sauber...

The poll is about how many seconds Ferrari will win by. 5 - 10 - 20

Oh good, looks like he finally tracked it down! 🙂

Does anyone know if Apple can actually remote-lock an Apple TV using just the serial number? A buddy of mine had his luggage swiped at the airport—new Apple TV inside—and I'm wondering if there's any way to freeze it, or does it have to be already set up and active to do anything?

Anyone who doesn't see that they intentionally hold Kimi back whenever he's outperforming Vettel clearly doesn't get F1... I mean, look at what they put Webber through at Red Bull—once they actually gave him equal footing, Ric absolutely smoked him on track. Honestly, those four titles Vettel won feel like one of the biggest scams in the sport, but whatever—he isn't winning anything else anyway.

Jason Campbell70 said:It would have taken him maybe 2-3 seconds to comfortably slip into that first corner ahead of Vettel. Honestly, even with a 2-second gap, he would've been totally fine

But his pit wall just gave him the wrong delta—that's why they messed up—and hey, they actually admitted it after the race.

See above.

The VSC popped out later, so you can't really blame Raikkonen or call him the loser there.
There was just one driver who happened to be in the right spot at the right time, seized the moment, and grabbed the position.
It’s definitely not the first (or last) time a (V)SC reshuffles the order.

But that bit before? That was sketchy.
It's a live race... and after Raikkonen starts from a better spot on the grid and pulls a great first stint, the pit wall tells him "not to hurry." 😁
And then—get this—they tell him his teammate hasn't pitted yet and needs to squeeze everything out of his starting set of tires.

Lucky for Ferrari, that VSC saved them from a total disaster—otherwise, we'd all be laughing at them again.
What a bunch of clowns, seriously, that wasn't right. 🙏

Seriously... it's an embarrassment to the sport... though I doubt anyone would have complained if they'd called a full Safety Car instead of that unnecessary VSC. Maybe the guys in race control weren't ready because they were too busy dealing with some nonsense behind the scenes. Now that they don't have grid girls anymore, I guess they have to find other ways to liven things up.

Karma really bites!

I don't get how some people still aren't grasping the whole VSC situation—seriously? It's a completely different game driving at full tilt versus being stuck under speed limits.😵
And man, what was Red Bull Racing thinking starting on Soft tires? They basically sabotaged their own start and totally killed their momentum in the first half.
Either they were just slow in the US, or they completely botched the strategy and let the Haas F1 Team hang all over them.

Watching those sour faces—both in the Mercedes-Benz garage and inside the cars—is honestly priceless. 👏👏:clap

Anyway, at the end of the day, FORZA FERRARI !!!!!!

I'm definitely saving this quote for the rest of the season...

Jason Campbell70 said:So, here’s what Kimi thinks about that "brilliant" strategy the geniuses over at Ferrari cooked up for him:

Man, what a total mess at Ferrari... seriously one of the most incompetent teams I've ever seen—it feels like they're sabotaging their own driver from day one just to make sure their "golden boy" doesn't lose his spot.

swifttiger75 said:That’s actually part of the reason—amongst everything else we've talked about. It’s just that after seeing how things went during FP and grabbing pole, everyone figured once they closed the gap and headed to the pits after Kimi, it was basically a done deal. Well, think again! It's just like that rabbit in the old fable!

Yeah, you could pretty much assume the folks over at Haas might pull a double blunder—like having Grosjean park it in a way that triggers a VSC followed by a full deployment... it's just one of those wild sequences of events, and man, that German driver barely scraped the win. Honestly, I'm looking forward to some serious Mercedes dominance this year—I can't wait to see it unfold.

I mean, those wheel issues over at Haas were bad, but this? This makes those look like nothing. How do you just drop the ball on something you literally had ready back on Friday! Seriously! 😵
Where did all of Hamilton's usual swagger go?
How is he even going to face the press now with those half-baked jokes of his?
hehe: hehe:

LOL... how do you guys all crawl out from under your rocks after losing just one race... pretty soon it'll be quiet again, just like it was after last season...
