How to get rid of hairy back? in Health ·
Go straight for a professional beauty salon and stick to wax.
Honestly, I’d just suggest opting for waxing—mainly because you’ll have to deal with the pain anyway, but at least that's the end of it...
I’m honestly at a loss for words here... maybe saying nothing at all is the best move... 😢 😢 😢
Hang in there...

Mr. Wrong said:Staley’s music doesn't hold much weight in my life—besides, strangers pass away every single day, so I don't particularly lose sleep over him.

I don't obsess over him either, though his work carries more significance to me than Cobain's...😉

🙂

Should we take a moment to remember Layne Staley from Alice in Chains?

The generation that grew up listening to Queen—take Mirkovic, for example—has finally climbed the ladder into positions of influence where they can actually pull this off. Mirkovic is really just the end result of that shift, not the cause of it.

Unfortunately, I wasn't part of that era myself.
But Mirkovic has shown me (and quite a few others much younger than I am) in a very subtle, non-intrusive way, what those times were actually like...
And that they were, indeed, pretty great.
That's it.

rapidskipper9 said:In case anyone was oblivious,🙂 there was a big matchup between the local favorites and the Kansas City Chiefs the other day.
Now, that might seem totally irrelevant to the topic at hand, but... during the closing credits, while the text was scrolling across the screen, they played this song by Queen with the lyric "football, it's the real thiiiiiing..."—I can't quite recall the exact track since I'm not exactly a die-hard fanatic, but I'm sure one of you will know it.
Honestly, I was floored—at first, I thought they were actually playing it live at the stadium, though that would have been even more nonsensical. They were playing it straight from the studio!
I'm not entirely sure what to make of it, but I have this nagging feeling that this might actually be a Year of Miracles... maybe Johnny will make a comeback, who knows...? 😁

If I had to pin the credit for bringing Queen back into the rotation on anyone, I’d give it solely to Igor Mirkovica and his Lucky Child.
I mean, has there ever been a time where you show up for work at 7:00 AM and hear something like Family Screams blaring from a station near the security gate asking "What am I supposed to do?" Don't think so...
Or maybe you're out near Mount Rainier in the afternoon, and suddenly you hear "Klincek stands beneath the clouds"... 😁 😁 😁
It immediately makes the day feel a little better.
You could never get them to play stuff like that on the radio before.
Now, they actually know how to play something like that.
Finally... thank God. 🙂

Deep within you

deep within you
perhaps I’ve left a flicker of light
in the dark hours between the walls
not even all the good souls
nor everyone you’ve ever known
nor any escape from the solitude
that you retreat into
when despair breaks through
they are barely enough
against that raw power
ultimate and final

deep within you
passions shatter everything
what remains
and what isn't even there
the longing for death
the hunger to survive
the craving for freedom
and the will to surrender to fate
as if held in the palm of a hand

deep within you
thousands of drummers
fanfares echoing from afar
flags flying at half-mast
who is it you mourn, my love
that dark omen upon your darling's face
the sorrow etched in words

just once in a lifetime
I will allow myself to be captured
by a man with a cold grip
and a gaze of steel
😍 😵 🙂

Well, they finally wrapped things up yesterday, after two weeks of 🙄

Tribute to Queen in Music ·
Honestly, I’d love to quote a few lines from "Fleetwood Mac" right about now, but I can't seem to find them—and I definitely don't have the lyrics memorized... 🙂

On my soul
That wonderful, wonderful being twice over...
🙂 😍 👋

I finally set up my TikTok account last week.
You need to take a step back here...
There wasn't really any actual advice to be found—nothing beyond staring at some greenery and washing your face 🙄 😁

Because you were born and raised in an era of prosperity and abundance, free from oppression... that's why this year doesn't feel like a massive cultural shift—there isn't really anything to rebel against, or any creative outlets to force open. Culture is thriving here—movies, music, art, even the Eurovision vibes...
You've got it easy, unlike unnamed!
And who knows, maybe some unnamed force could spark a true cultural revolution in America?
Or perhaps, with enough momentum, we see that same prideful wave that swept through entire cultures before...

Unnamed, your "new wave" is more like a damn tsunami!

Forget those old winds and outdated rhythms 🙂 😁 😁
I suppose I am a lucky child, though I was somewhat deprived during those few years—which forced me to develop my own musical identity without the help of older influences... so I'm a little behind now, just trying to catch up (meaning: I'm acting like a high schooler discovering new worlds for the first time... whatever 😁 )

nobody and nothing said:My dear boldeagle3, how is it that your reminiscences about your own bank account are considered "on topic," yet you're trying to shunt me off over to some political subreddit?
Honestly, I’m washing my hands of this debate—nostalgia is a fickle thing, isn't it? People get sentimental about anything... even the days of grocery shortages and endless lines just to grab a bottle of Tide.
Besides, a few years back, we had those whole waves of "retro" movies that everyone obsessed over. It’s incredible, really, but clearly, the whole thing is purely irrational. My apologies, folks, let's just head back to the past!

I was actually responding to Wall, by the way, and I'm certainly not trying to send you anywhere.
That was simply my take on things, much like what yours happens to be—though, as I mentioned, there seems to be far too much talk about politics when the conversation should be centered on music.

Listening to music from a specific era is often a much healthier habit than just consuming whatever is topping the charts today—it keeps you from looking like a complete dinosaur who refuses to acknowledge anything beyond what played on the radio last week. 😉

A round of applause for boldeagle3! You’ve got my vote—even if you were playing nice with that little sunshine girl earlier, I can see you’ve actually got what it takes to be a moderator. She’s certainly more level-headed than the rest of them.😁

Anyway, staying on topic, I am not talking about politics. But then again, mistyfox812 isn't making any backwards claims suggesting that the New Wave was merely a byproduct of resisting some decadent, rotten state of affairs. By that logic—since there was neither a culture nor a New Wave during the 1990s—then using that same flawed reasoning—no resistance means no creativity—his ultimate
'proof' would imply that the nineties were actually a perfect society, requiring absolutely no rebellion or cultural pushback????? 🙂

Oh boy, here he goes again with his suggestions for me being a moDRMAtoric. 😁
I don't think that's going to happen... I already have eye twitches from staring at this screen too long; if I took the job, I’d just lose my mind and snap at every single one of you. 😁

On topic: personally, the nineties were much better for my bank account, even if the rest of society went straight to hell. 👎
So, let us leave the financial stability where it belongs, and we will just sit here obsessing over the New Wave and reminiscing (or learning about it, since some people are too young to remember) because that music resonates with us... so JUST LEAVE US ALONE. 😢 🙂
Happy child in Movies ·
Alright folks, let’s just drop the politics, the Reaganism, and all that nonsense...

I am asking nicely—can we please just acknowledge the New Wave as a musical movement that actually made its mark? It left a legacy, and those are simply the facts; there really is no point in debating it further...

Oof, trying to have a conversation about Politics🙂

Arthur Martinez7 said:Does anyone else remember the absolute frenzy when Kylie Jenner teamed up with Cave Johnson for that one duet? It was wild—she’d spent her whole career singing those little Nintendo jingles and lightweight pop tunes, and then suddenly she drops a real, soulful track and everyone just loses their minds.
Unfortunately, it was a one-hit wonder... and that was it. 😁

Honestly, that speaks volumes about Cave—he managed to find something deep within her and pull out a talent she didn't even realize she possessed...
Cave rules! 😁 (though I suppose this is all completely off-topic 🙄 )

Have you ever actually sat down and listened to Tom Waits sing? 😁

Arthur Barnes said:It could be anything from a low refresh rate monitor, sitting way too close to the TV, or even just some purely mechanical issue—like dust buildup. There’s also the psychological angle to consider... stress being a major factor.

Well... honestly, any and all of those things could be the culprit if you ask me.
Just make it disappear 🙂 🙂

If there’s already an existing thread about this, please point me toward it and feel free to delete my post (though I'm hoping this little letter doesn't just end up in the trash bin).
So, for over a week now, I've had this persistent twitch right under my left eye.
It flickers quite frequently throughout the day—I actually find myself pressing down on it with my finger to try and get it to stop, which is honestly a bit strange given how long this has been dragging on...
Why does this happen, and what am I supposed to do about it?

(Doctors, am I losing my mind?) No! 😁
Help me out here 😢
