I feel genuinely sorry—and honestly, it feels a bit surreal—that she’s out. But I don't think this is the end of the road for her... it would be such a waste, considering how truly one-of-a-kind she is.
I honestly think we’ve reached the point where taking out loans just isn't worth the headache anymore. And I don't just mean because everything feels like it's spiraling—though, let's be real, it is—but also because of the looming threat of interest rate hikes and those looming energy price spikes hitting businesses... it's a mess. If you aren't in an absolute bind, my advice would be to stick to public transit for a little while longer, or maybe pick up a beat-up used car for maybe $2,500 or $3,000 and just rattle around in it until things stabilize a bit better... 🤷
I had this grand idea to finally be productive and start commuting to work by bike—specifically for the trek from Brooklyn to Marshland. Unfortunately, while the ride out toward the Hollywood Hills offers some pretty decent cycling paths, once you try to get from the Hollywood Hills down to Marshland, there isn't even a single sidewalk, let alone any actual bike lanes. Does anyone happen to know of an alternative route? Given that everything in the city is currently under construction anyway, I suspect my little ambition will have to stay on hold until they actually finish fixing up that part of town...
I'm looking to gather some intel regarding private diagnostic labs.
Do I actually need a referral from my primary care physician to get anything done, or can I just walk in, tell them what I need, and handle it myself? Once the results finally come back, who handles the interpretation—is there someone on-site at the lab to walk me through everything, or am I expected to take those papers straight to my doctor for an explanation?
Does anyone know where I can find some Tai Chi groups around the West Side or maybe near the downtown area by the university campus?
I did happen to stumble upon an ANAN DO location over on V. Holjevac—though if I’m being honest, when I say "recreational," I mean something I can commit to year-round... not just a seasonal thing like signing up for a quick language course or a summer workshop. Any help? 🤷
I only recently stumbled upon the track "in a Darkened room," and I honestly can't wrap my head around why it never became a massive hit... The song itself is absolutely stellar—and the music video is just as good 👍
Bend was actually decent back in the day, but honestly, they haven't produced anything worth mentioning since...
Sebastian is truly a character unto himself—and let’s be real, he used to be quite easy on the eyes—but that voice? Easily one of the best I've ever heard.
I happened to catch a documentary on VH1 about the creation of the SUPERBAND (featuring Bach, Nugent, and the rest) and it was genuinely infuriating to watch how exhausting that guy is—just constant bragging and pure arrogance. Plus, his lack of impulse control is wild... there was this moment where his wife was posing for a photo, partially undressed, and he was staring at her with such primal hunger, you'd think he hadn't seen his own wife in twenty years.
So, yeah—it seems to me he just lives in his own little bubble, convinced he’s some sort of singular, special entity.
"Sorcerer" was easily the standout track for me... And honestly, it’s driving me a little crazy because the version in the film—whether it’s the guitar work or the vocalist, Laura or Holly, who cares—is totally different from what’s actually on the soundtrack (which features piano, Marilyn Martin on vocals, and leans a bit more toward that country vibe).
Man, day two was a massive improvement over the first 🙂
There were hardly any lines anywhere—I actually managed to snag some Chinese food (seriously, people, Chinese food at a festival in Washington, D.C. 🙏 😁 )—and while rain was definitely threatening, it stayed away during the headliners.
The Hold Steady—what even is that? Is this meant to be fun? So boooooring...
The Roots—excellent too, though I don't have much else to say about them.
!!! —those guys are absolutely wild. Incredible. I'd never heard of them before, but they totally won me over. Unfortunately, after half an hour, we had to sprint over to see Iggy Pop, who kicked things off at exactly 10:20 PM.
Iggy Pop! 😍 Long live Iggy Pop! 🙏 I saw Iggy Pop and now I can die in peace 😬 (though I think his solo stuff is slightly better edition).
All the side activities were great, too—the VIP areas and all that... I picked up the standard festival "kit," got some sleeping bags, and even won a t-shirt during the VIP music trivia 😁 and whatnot.
Megan Rodriguez44 said:p.s. Oh, she has no clue this is actually me—so don't you dare let it slip... if you catch my drift. To her, I'm just the old version of myself. 😁
p.p.s. Actually, I'm being ridiculous; she’d probably figure it out if she ever bothered to read anything about the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. 🤣 Anyway, fine, I won't write *that* much nonsense. 😁 Except for this p.s.
Look, even she doesn't know—it's going to be revelation day 😬
