Movies about funerals and burials :amen: in Movies ·
Deadpool meets Eastwood 😁

I’m not sure if there are any actual burial scenes in the script—it’s hard to tell—but the cast is packed with family and friends... and then there’s Gunsa 😁

Feeling weak and nauseous... in Health ·
Well, I’ve been feeling the exact same way for the last few days...
But this morning, things took a bit of a turn for the worse—it isn't just the kind of nausea you can settle with a quick burp 😁 anymore; my throat and sinuses are acting up too, so I headed straight out to grab some Max Fleischer to see if I can kill this thing off.

We recently jokingly asked a professor if he listens to country music, and his response was: "Do I really look like someone who listens to country?"
It’s an interesting point, actually—there isn't some universal dress code for when you head to a honky-tonk, and unlike punks, rockers, or other subcultures, you can't just spot a country fan walking down a street in any major US city...

The professor made a valid point about how he "looks," but I think you're misinterpreting his logic.
Appearance isn't just about the clothes you wear...
It's the attire, the shoes, the haircut, the attitude, even the body language... all of those things serve as indicators of what your professor listens to—and clearly, as he put it, it isn't country music.😉
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
David Miller5 said:Well, I'm not entirely sure—I was throwing up, experiencing some mild amnesia (I can't even recall when they actually woke me up; I just remember waking up in my room), and so on... 😬

And no, I didn't have rhinoplasty. 😬 Though I’ve certainly considered it—if I could get past the sheer terror of the whole thing. But no, I won't. 😬

Actually, I ended up throwing up twice myself—mostly just blood that had trickled down my throat during the procedure 😬—and I also woke up in my room. It wasn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be, if you ask me... 😛
When you're dealing with nausea and an upset stomach, you shouldn't be gulping down water—it’s much better to take tiny sips, just a drop at a time, every few minutes...
There seems to be a nasty stomach flu going around the country lately—lots of vomiting and diarrhea—so it's entirely possible you caught whatever is hitting everyone else right now.
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
David Miller5 said:Sure, but they say general anesthesia is harder to bounce back from.

What exactly does "harder to bounce back" mean in this context?
For me, personally, I just spent the entire day sleeping... which isn't exactly a complaint—actually, it’s quite nice. I mean, what else are you realistically going to accomplish there anyway... 😁
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
mistybison said:This is essentially the exact breakdown my doctor gave me if I ever decide to pull the trigger on septoplasty. 😢 The main distinction from a purely cosmetic rhinoplasty is that while a septoplasty can technically be done under local anesthesia—though they warn it’s incredibly unpleasant—an aesthetic procedure requires general anesthesia. I imagine changing the actual shape of the nose would be even more painful and likely involve significant bruising. My doctor mentioned that for a deviated septum, they work through the nostrils, but for a reshape, they have to make an incision inside the nostril, right against the lip, and then essentially 'pull' everything upward... which sounds absolutely gruesome, honestly... 😢

General anesthesia is definitely the way to go.
You just drift off, they wheel you away, perform the surgery, bring you back, and you wake up and it's already over 😁
They did offer me the local option, but there is no way I'm agreeing to that 😉
Rhinoplasty recovery: What to expect? in Health ·
I went through with a septoplasty to fix my deviated septum. Unfortunately, the external shape of my nose hasn't changed at all... just an aesthetic wash.
I spent seven days in the hospital.
The nasal packing was in for five whole days!!! (Honestly, I felt like I was dying—it’s absolutely maddening having to breathe exclusively through your mouth for five days and five nights straight).
Having the packing removed wasn't actually the scary part.
Waking up from anesthesia didn't really shock me either, though I did vomit twice—mostly just blood that had been trickling down my throat—but my head was clear enough to know exactly where I was, what day it was, and the year... so there was that. 😁
The only real struggle was my throat; it was incredibly sore for five days due to the intubation, which made eating a chore, and being forced to mouth-breathe was driving me absolutely insane... everything else was perfectly fine.
If you find yourself in that situation, the best thing to do is just sleep through those hospital days as much as possible.

As for digestive issues, I didn't deal with any diarrhea whatsoever. Then again, I’ve never really been prone to greasy food or skin breakouts anyway... so perhaps I'm just lucky. 🙂 😬

I walked into the theater without having any prior knowledge of this movie—just a total whim, really... I picked whatever was playing without a second thought.

At the time, the film was being marketed purely as a comedy.
Should I mention the sheer number of parents with kids popping up from their seats like mushrooms after a rainstorm just to escape the room? 😁

It’s a rare thing when you walk out of a cinema and the story actually sticks with you for years, making you want to go back and find it on Blu-ray later.

Fantastic storytelling, stellar acting (especially Maggie 🙏), and the overall mood was spot on.

👍
Help! My sewing machine is jamming up. in Health ·
I actually have dissolvable threads in my nose—and no, they didn't opt for permanent removal (I asked)—simply because the recovery process isn't exactly a walk in the park... why go through the hassle of surgery when you can just use threads that naturally dissolve within ten to fifteen days?

So, waiting for the meltdown 😉 😁
Is 35 actually that tough?
Absolute beast 🙂

Named after his mother, apparently.
For heaven's sake

Public Enemy in Music ·
Between all the media hype, the constant delays, and the fact that the venue—honestly, the absolute worst place on Earth for a live show—plus those shirtless guys who kept bumping into me with their gross, sweaty bodies... I actually had a blast. 😁

Flawless nails?
With those massive, horror-show cuticles?

Back when everyone else was obsessing over rap, I was the sole holdout—mostly just out of pure spite—though I had to make an exception for Public Enemy. They were absolute legends in my eyes...🙂

Dreamcatcher — what a tedious, hollow experience of a movie.
Those aliens from hell are really just the icing on the cake of this entire mess.

Honestly—do you just never read the news, watch TV, or even bother surfing the web?
Raymond Barrett12 said:Ehm, I don't really feel like digging through the archives right this second, but I am PRETTY sure his name popped up somewhere regarding the organization. The LAPD was mentioned generally as the executive arm for the City of Los Angeles during the planning stages. So, whether he was working alongside the LAPD—acting as part of that "umbrella" organization—or not, I can't say for certain, but our dear friend Crnarić 😬definitely was mentioned...

The thing is, he is ALWAYS brought up regardless of the context 😁
Raymond Barrett12 said:But wait—WHO actually stepped up to organize The Rolling Stones? Was it Crnarić? 🙂 Maybe... 🤣 😂 🤣 😂

Actually, no—it was Live Nation and the City of Chicago... though in America, it’s perfectly typical to blame everything on Crnaric when things go sideways... 😉
How are you guys handling this heatwave? in Health ·
There was a time when summer was my absolute favorite season, while winter was easily the worst...
Lately, though, both winter and this particular stretch of summer have been nothing short of brutal.

I’m exhausted just making the trek from my desk to my bed—my AC is running twenty hours a day, yet the heat still manages to find me.

Luckily, I'm actually on vacation right now, so I don't have to commute to that rural office—well, more like a greenhouse—where I work, which doesn't even have air conditioning. I can only hope next week treats me a bit better.

The AC has become a basic survival tool today, much like wearing a hat, seeking shade, and slathering on sunscreen just to make it through a trip downtown.

I feel 😵
