Amanda Foster23 said:It seems there isn't much interest in this movie here on the forum... 😁 Personally, I’m planning on catching it in the next few days. Looking at the IMDb rating, it doesn't look particularly stellar—I’d call it "expected." I'm going because it’s become a bit of a tradition for me at this point. I still remember when the first American version of The Ring came out... honestly, no other movie ever scared me quite as much. I dealt with the trauma for years. 🤣 Even though I swore back then that I would never watch that movie again—or anything remotely related to it—I ended up watching almost everything. 😬 Both American versions (including that short film bridging The Ring and The Ring Two), all three Japanese films, even The Ring 3D... I suppose you have to face your fears eventually. 🤣 I tried to desensitize myself to the whole Samara/Sadako thing, but I have to admit, it still gets to me a little bit.

I'm looking forward to seeing it, regardless of how it turns out. 😁

Has anyone seen it in 4D yet? Is it actually worth the extra money? 😁

As for me, I watched The Ring Two with my core group at a birthday party. We were in total darkness. It was mostly girls, who tended to make every jump scare even more intense by overreacting. A bit much, if you ask me. Still, that movie left me with lingering trauma for a long time. Then, after waiting x years to rewatch it, I felt absolutely nothing.

I won't be heading to the theater for The Ring 3D. Let me know what you think once you've seen it. Based on the trailer, it looks like a remake of the first one, so I have no idea how good it will actually be.
Yeah, it’s decent enough and definitely catches your eye—plus, you get a full look at the movie in one go. 🤣

So, this was originally slated for an April release, but now we’re looking at September... classic Hollywood scheduling delays.

I was expecting something a bit more distinct, honestly. This feels less like a fresh take and more like a shot-for-shot remake of *The Ring*, just without Naomi Watts leading the charge. 😢

But hey, that’s just a trailer. We really need to sit through the whole thing before passing judgment; maybe it actually holds up.

You could try disabling them or just deleting those entries entirely. But honestly, if you're dealing with some smarter strain of malware, it'll just write itself right back into the registry the second you hit delete.

Maybe give HijackThis a shot to wipe everything out at once, though I suspect it hasn't seen an update in ages, so I'm not sure how much teeth it still has left...

Or just wait until you can get a hold of someone who actually knows their way around a terminal. Software isn't really my specialty.

Alright, I'll give it a shot tomorrow. But honestly, why bring up malware when this machine is running a fresh, clean install of Windows?

By the way, I noticed we're technically in the hardware thread, yet the conversation seems to have drifted almost entirely toward software issues—so, if the moderators want to move this to a different section, feel free.

I’m not sure I follow you. 🤔

There we go. I see some red text popping up, but frankly—I haven't the slightest clue what it's actually trying to tell me. 😁

Ran memtest, and it came back clean—no errors found.

As for drivers—I checked Device Manager, and there isn't a single device showing an exclamation mark.

Here’s the situation: I went into msconfig and selected "selective startup," which ended up disabling a massive chunk of items under the "Services" tab. Now, when I leave certain things turned off, the system actually behaves... however, the catch is that my internet is completely dead 🙂.

Does anyone happen to know which specific services I need to toggle back on to get my connection working again? The dilemma is that if I just re-enable everything, I'm right back where I started—staring at the Blue Screen of Death.

A friend of mine has been dealing with constant Blue Screen of Death (Windows 10) issues, so she handed her machine over to me to see if I could play technician.

My plan was straightforward—keep it simple and avoid unnecessary headaches by 😁 wiping the hard drive and performing a completely fresh installation of Windows. It seemed like an easy win: just kick off the install, catch a movie while the progress bar crawls along, and call it a day. 😉 Besides, that was actually what she wanted; the system was cluttered with absolute junk anyway.

Well, plans change. Now the OS is pristine—freshly installed, nothing on there except for the drivers that Windows automatically pulled in—yet the damn problem persists.

Basically, about two or three minutes after booting up, the blue screen hits:

"😢 Your PC ran into a problem and needs to restart. We’re just collecting some info, and then we’ll restart for you. If you would like to know more, you can search online later for this error: PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA – snp2uvc.sys"

I did some digging online and stumbled upon this: http://www.solvusoft.com/en/files/bs...r/snp2uvc-sys/ (I'm referring to the article itself, not the software they're trying to peddle for download)

I went through their ten-step guide, and when I reached step 10: Perform a Clean Installation of Windows, I noticed this warning:

please Note: If snp2uvc.sys errors still persist after a clean install of Windows, your SYS problem MUST be hardware related. If that is the case, then it is likely you will need to replace the associated hardware causing the snp2uvc.sys error.

So, we're looking at a hardware failure, but which component? What's the next move here? The machine is a Fujitsu laptop.

P.S. I ran a check disk, but it didn't flag anything—it just rebooted normally without any specific error messages—so I'm assuming the hard drive is fine.

I also ran a system scan (sfc /scannow), but it came up clean.

The issue doesn't trigger in Safe Mode. But once it boots up normally, after maybe two or three minutes—I haven't timed it perfectly, but it seems to happen consistently shortly after Windows fully loads—that blue screen pops up again.

Lost cartoon – anyone remember this? in Movies ·
There’s also a dedicated thread for those old-school animated cartoons—you know, the ones where people are constantly hunting for a title based on nothing but vague descriptions of what happened in an episode. You might want to give that a shot as well.

The atmosphere and general intrigue were absolutely top-notch during the first half of the film—really grabbed me. But then? It just falls apart. Such a massive letdown after such a promising start.
The Jungle Book (2016) - Jon Favreau in Movies ·
It’s a fantastic film. Honestly, no matter how you slice it—from the technical execution to the emotional beats—I don't have a single complaint. The visual effects are absolutely flawless, and the narrative has been given this extra layer of depth that really ties everything together. As for young Mowgli? They couldn't have cast anyone better; the kid is just a natural. It’s almost too perfect, if such a thing were possible. 🙂

I’m really looking forward to seeing this. I'm not sure if you all caught wind of this yet, but Warner Bros. is actually working on their own version of the Jungle Book for 2018. 😁

It looks like Disney is doubling down on the live-action remake craze. We’ve got an endless lineup headed our way—everything from Peter Pan and Jungle Book 2 to Maleficent 2, sword in the stone, Pinocchio, Winnie the Pooh, Mulan (Mulan !!!), Dumbo, and Cruella. The next one hitting theaters in about a year is Beauty and the Beast, starring Emma Watson.

So, I was sitting here working through my files when I noticed something incredibly annoying—I type an asterisk (*) or a number (1.) followed by a tab, expecting the usual automatic Bullets and numbering to kick in, but nothing happens. It just stays as plain text. I haven't changed any settings, I’m using the exact same document I was using five minutes ago, yet suddenly the automation has decided to take a permanent vacation. Does anyone know how to flip the switch and get this functionality back?

I’ve actually tried all of that—toggling full screen on and off, gradually dropping the resolution—but I kept hitting the same wall every single time. It was only when I tanked it down to the absolute minimum, 800x600, that things felt relatively usable (though even then, it wasn't exactly buttery smooth)... I suppose I'll give that miracle fix a shot and see if it actually works.

It won't even budge, even with a 400 MB driver 😁

And yes—of course I restarted the machine.

I honestly have no clue what the issue is anymore. 🤔

I went ahead and installed the software (GeForce Experience), and it flagged a recent Fermi Ready driver—it’s sitting at nearly 400 MB (😲!!), which seems a bit hefty—so I’m going to give that a shot. Anyway, thanks to everyone for the assist; I'll let you know how it pans out 😉

My Nvidia GeForce gt 520 MX. I went ahead and ran the driver update through Device Manager.

Ran Dxdiag—no errors found.
Regarding compatibility modes—I’ve already cycled through Windows 8, Windows 7, and even Windows XP, but nothing sticks.
"Run as administrator"—tried it, didn't change a thing.
Updated the Nvidia drivers to the latest version, yet the result remains exactly the same.
All other drivers are fully installed and up to date.

On a side note—and I'm not sure if this is even relevant to my current headache—but back when I was playing Bejeweled 3, it wouldn't let me select the maximum resolution until I used the "Run as administrator" option.🤔 Just thought I'd mention it, just in case there's some weird permission issue at play here.
