Knee replacement surgery experiences? in Health ·
Does anyone have any insight on knee replacement surgery? I’d love to know how intense the recovery actually is and some more details about the procedure itself. I was in a serious car accident, and I need both knees replaced just to be able to get back into my wheelchair,
I’m also looking for recommendations for a good clinic or a specialist...

It’s tough because I’m still pretty young (only 29), and I’ve been stuck in bed for three years now.

It’s honestly fascinating to watch the personal transformation Leonardo DiCaprio goes through during this movie...

I wouldn't say I'm usually a huge fan of his, but this time I'm definitely rooting for an Oscar 👍

Walter Chase56 said:I am looking for someone interested in planting carrots, cabbage, peas, lettuce, and similar crops, while also having a weekend getaway just outside of Washington, D.C. It’s located in a small town in the Midwest, about an hour's drive from the city center. The plot is roughly 400 square meters.
There is no housing available, though you are welcome to bring a tent if you wish to stay overnight.🙂

I am offering this rent-free on the condition that fruit trees are planted, which the tenant may then enjoy for at least 5 to 7 years.

I live abroad.
This land used to be a vineyard.

You could also plant apple trees; they yield much faster than walnut trees.
Or perhaps hazelnuts?

400 square meters is way too small, my friend.

...but that relationship involves a not-so-easy road to actually reaching that state of unconditional acceptance and devotion. It isn't easy; much like any other discipline, we have to keep learning, over and over again... 🙂 personally, I think the most beautiful way to describe this connection to the world is through that one post of yours where you shared those lines from "White Tower." I'm going to share them here again, because repetition is the mother of all learning...

Count the pebbles of your fears and desires at the bottom of your pocket.
Then call Me to a game where you dare to lose,
just so you might win in My name.
Cast the first stone, and do not flinch if it slips through your fingers:
For that is the stone of the fear of death. Let it fall to the earth; she is death-hungry,
her very life hangs upon it.
Cast the second stone, and do not try to catch it mid-air: for that is the stone
of the fear of loneliness. Let the chariots of space grind it into dust beneath their wheels.
Cast the third stone, and do not care if you miss: for it is the desire
for comfort, which the body craves.
Cast the fourth, and rejoice if it does not land in your palm, for it is the
desire for significance.
Cast the fifth pebble and feel like a winner when you lose it.
For that is the fear of loss.
Remain for a moment with an empty hand, wondering as you see
its lines clearly for the very first time.

hi briskgull27, I’m reaching out to you from San Francisco. I just wanted to let you know that I follow your posts religiously, and I was hoping I could pick your brain for a bit of advice if you have a moment. So... here’s the situation. It involves a close family member. This person used to be quite selfish—very self-centered and focused entirely on her own needs. She was emotionally incapable of recognizing when a little soul was suffering; she might have realized it, but she consciously chose to sweep it under the rug. Later on, she had another child just so she wouldn't be alone (there's a 17-year age gap between them), and since then, she has struggled with both mental and physical health issues. Now I’m wondering what you think from an outsider's perspective: is it better to just stay cool and keep my distance, or should I try to step in and offer some comfort, even though she was always so stingy with her empathy? Honestly, I think you're a great person based on your posts, which is actually why I signed up for this forum. If you ever find yourself in San Francisco, let me know—I'd love to grab a coffee. Talk soon!😍

gentlecanyon65 said:..... so I've been doing some deep thinking and scrolling through a ton of stuff lately ....

The price for farmland out here is actually pretty reasonable, so since I’ve got some decent cash sitting around and I’m definitely not the type to just sit on my ass all day, I started wondering why the hell I wouldn't just dive into agriculture
..... My big idea is to set up some permanent walnut orchards.... once they're established, they don't require an insane amount of daily grind, which means this doesn't even have to be my main hustle, yet it could still pull in some serious profit after a few years.... so my plan is to snag maybe 12 to 25 acres of land and plant a massive WALNUT grove ....

Now look .... I'm no professional farmer, but I know how to handle a shovel, and with a bit of reading and some solid advice, I think I could make it work .... but honestly, I just can't get the math to make sense in my head ....

I heard that USDA subsidies for walnut orchards can go up to about $13333 per acre ....

Come on, let me hear what you guys think about this!!! ☕ 🙄

Neraste, if you're actually serious about this, I'm looking for partners 🙂... I've got about $10,000 in startup capital ready to go. My idea was more along the lines of a mixed fruit orchard—apples, pears, plums, and all that stuff—with some sheep grazing in between the rows... but we could definitely find space for some walnuts too...

Hey there, I’m a huge fan of all kinds of sword fighting techniques. Could anyone tell me if there are any well-known, solid clubs in places like San Diego or Seattle? As a thank you, I'll hook you up with a great source for high-quality Katana that won't break the bank.
Check out www.seppa.de. They have one of our guys working there, so communication shouldn't be an issue at all.

Subtitles for Mexican movies? in Movies ·
Nicholas Walker3 said:Look, American is a foreign language here, and obviously any movie in a foreign tongue needs subtitles. I don't get what you're trying to prove—most kids these days are fluent in Spanish too, yet we still subtitle movies for them, right?

I agree that foreign films should be dubbed, subtitled, or just plain translated.
Since there's no need to do that for American and its local dialects, the logical conclusion is that they're essentially the same language!
