Here’s how I see the fundamental difference between Airsoft enthusiasts (the "hobbyists") and Paintball players (the "athletes").
In a hypothetical national defense scenario: Airsoft: 1. Most "hobbyists" would step up to join an active defense and actually help defend their home soil. 2. Experienced "hobbyists" would likely have a better shot at survival than the "athletes" because they’ve actually learned something from these simulations (not saying they're professional soldiers, obviously), and they definitely have much higher survival odds than the average mobilized civilian who isn't into either hobby.
Paintball: 1. Most "athletes" could head overseas to compete in major international tournaments during a conflict to rake in huge prize money and funnel those funds back into helping their country's defense. 2. If those experienced "athletes" can't make it abroad, they could join the active defense. They’re basically perfect for charging headfirst into things or using "spray and pray" tactics—as long as you provide them with a combat zone roughly 35x60 meters, some inflatable barriers, and maybe some lighting if visibility gets low.
Honestly, if Airsoft ever officially becomes a "sport," I’ll never tell anyone I do it, and here’s why:
By definition, a SPORT exists to entertain the participants and the audience (kind of like a circus or a reality TV show). People don't build anything constructive *out of* sports; they do constructive things *because* of them. Sports might give you a healthy body or foster a sense of brotherhood, but that's about it.
Isildur,
Airsoft isn't a simulation of WAR; it's a simulation of military and police operations. When special forces (military or SWAT) raid a building to take down mobsters or terrorists, is that considered war?
Paintball is more like a simulation of gangster shootouts!
Out of the 18 million people involved in Paintball, what percentage has switched over to Airsoft, and how many went the other way? I want the stats!
Watch out!
We’ve got a massive "run through the woods" session this Sunday with over 80 people coming out. See ya there.
Honestly, I’m just so relieved everything turned out okay. You moved incredibly fast on this, which is great because everyone knows how long you usually have to wait based on recommendations. I actually know both of them—they ran my labs back when I was a student, and in my opinion, they are top-tier experts. Inflammation and stress can be such a massive headache, but the main thing is that it isn't malignant. Regarding the diagnosis, it’s notoriously difficult to pin down exactly what's happening based solely on an RTG, since different processes can look almost identical on film. I once had a patient who showed an atypical inflammatory process unlike anything I’d ever seen; then, by pure coincidence, at a professional seminar I had attended right before, the lecturer showed a nearly identical scan and admitted he was stumped because it turned out to be a metastasis from a primary tumor. Since my patient happened to be a friend, I felt more comfortable telling him that while it was possible, I needed to double-check with a specialist. Sometimes, it might feel better to stay quiet until you're 100% certain, and thank God it was just an atypical inflammatory process. But what if it wasn't? Personally, I believe that if things are unclear, it’s better to run extra tests and even jump to the worst-case scenario rather than holding back just to avoid scaring the patient. There have been cases where processes were malignant but were dismissed as mere inflammation, or people stayed silent just to avoid causing panic. And you can only imagine how those situations end up.

🤣
And don't even get me started on the scene where Uncle Rico buys a time machine... 😍
@ Maria Ruiz... The movie's worth a watch, give it a chance...

I recently "launched" my own business, but honestly, I’m a little lost on the actual logistics because my accountant handled all the heavy lifting. From what I gather, you basically need to set up a business bank account and register everything with the IRS... as for the rest, I'm still figuring it out 😳

Yeah, that was an option back when admins wanted to change someone's username for you... but honestly, I think it's better that they can't do it anymore.
Ronald Gray96 said:Are Christians seriously the best people ever? 😍 I'd take them over anyone else any day. 😍 The music was honestly pretty trash. 👍 And a huge thumbs up to that MySpace emo crew trying way too hard to be funny during the quiet parts—give me a break. 😠
That was all part of the performance. Don't be so clueless. Pffft.
Welcome back! 🙂 You actually told me that once, and honestly, it gave me the boost I needed... 🙂 Even though you have to keep your feet on the ground before you can start modulating, I wanted to return the favor... because even dragons need a little breeze to get airborne (whenever they feel like it). 🙂
