Can anyone recommend a good gynecologist in Los Angeles?
OB/GYN Discussion Thread in Women's Health ·
Honestly, if any of these doctors or nurses actually tried to examine me, I’d be pissed. If one of them thinks they can get close, tell them to bring their own foot and use that instead!

In my opinion, the best movie out there has to be All About Money... nothing else even comes close!😎

Black Bomber said:I’d be wandering out until the crack of dawn
The bars would stay open just for me
Women would come crawling my way
If I were a man, I’d be flawless, you see

Hey, if I were a man
Just for a moment
Just one single moment
Just one moment

And if I could keep this wit
Keep this wit
Keep this wit

Hey, if I were a man for thirty seconds
Honey, you’d fall for me in the very first round
To make up for all those lies and deceits
I'd give you exactly what your sinful soul seeks, oooo

😬This ending is actually the best part, ooooo 😁

See, unlike that song above...
Sometimes I dream of you, losing myself in the vision
But I wake up the second I reach for your kiss
Your body's warmth is gone now
And I wake up in the cold hands of reality.

Because everything that passes, everything that once goes by
Comes back like a punishment, circling around
And when it returns, once it finally comes back
It just passes through again, leaving you remembering.

Every morning you're better than the day before
And every night feels like the turning point
Because it takes a thousand steps
To reach the top
But only one single step to hit rock bottom.

It’s probably better if we never meet at all
Living in different eras
I’ve got my past, and you’ve got your future
Our dreams exist somewhere in between

And it’s better if we don't see each other anymore
Because then we'd realize in an instant
That all of this, all of this could have happened
Without us ever being a part of it.

Better if nothing had ever happened at all
If I’d just kept everything my heart felt unsaid
So don't come back, don't break my silence
Just let me be the king of lost causes.

Because everything that passes
Comes back like a punishment.

Michael Adams2 said:that sense of superiority...🤣

Look, I get why some people act high and mighty because they're smarter, better looking, or just have way more money in the bank... that makes sense to me.

But I honestly cannot wrap my head around someone feeling superior just because of their taste in indie or urban music. 😕

Sandra King86 said:What really gets under my skin and honestly pisses me off about music snobs is this total lack of empathy for people like me who just don't vibe with certain genres.
Why do I constantly have to sit through lectures on why certain mainstream trash is actually "deep" or "complex"? Just enjoy it if you want, but thanks, but no thanks—it’s not my thing. This elitist attitude and the desperate urge to "educate" everyone else about what constitutes good taste is just exhausting.

Look, I'm not going around trying to convince anyone that traditional tribal drumming from the Kalahari is the pinnacle of musical genius either.

Personally, what bugs me is when some random internet trolls start talking down to people, acting like they're all uneducated hillbillies from the middle of nowhere... 🙄

Whoever decides to chime in next with those kinds of condescending claims should probably just list their IQ, their degree, and their zip code first. That way, I can give them a little bow of respect if they actually meet those standards and prove they're somehow more enlightened than I am. 😉

tash@ said:I haven't a clue, but I remember Mamić once claiming that kind of music really hits him right in the soul 🤣

Hey, don't go dragging Mamić through the mud... he isn't actually into that trashy pop stuff, he listens to those old-school country ballads, like something you'd hear in the deep South...

For instance, they always play this whenever he shows up at a big charity gala:

".... oh how I miss you, just reaching out for your hand, do you have any idea how much I miss you..."

And just like that, he's pulling out a 500 dollar bill to tip the accordion player...👍

Ankle injury in Health ·
I’ve managed to wreck my ankle three different times over the last four years, and every single time it happens during pickup games. It’s always the same deal—ligament sprains—and the swelling is honestly terrifying; my ankle gets so blown up it looks like I shoved a tennis ball under my skin. My doctors told me it takes about six weeks for the ligaments to heal, so I’ve been playing it safe and resting it every single time.
I’m really itching to get back out there this spring, but I can't do it if I'm constantly sidelined by this injury.
Does anyone know what kind of long-term damage these kinds of repeated injuries actually do to the joint? Also, are there specific exercises you'd recommend to strengthen those ligaments?

THANKS SO MUCH!!!!

Back home, we have this dish called šuljci. It’s pretty similar to making homemade pasta shapes, except you boil small, flat pieces of dough in a rustic, old-school way. Once everything is cooked through, you drain the water and toss it all in plenty of melted cheese.
Hmm... let me see... here’s a quick list, though it's all out of order: Die Hard, Los Angeles Lakers, Gladiator, Thieves, Killers, and Two Loaded Shotguns; The Matrix, but just the first one. There are plenty more in my collection, and even more that I'm dying to get my hands on.
How reliable are blood test results? in Health ·
I have to come clean about everything I know regarding this disease, because my long silence and my refusal to face the truth have likely led to catastrophic consequences for far too many people.

I was infected back in 1985, having absolutely no idea what was happening. Because of how conservative my household was, I didn't say a word to my mother. That same year, I saw something in an eighth-grade textbook about it, then looked it up in a general encyclopedia. It was pure disbelief and despair—how could you even trust anyone? You couldn't. You just stayed quiet and waited for a chance to act. I waited until the following year when I caught an article in the evening news, in the health section, about a doctor’s discovery. He had found it strange that syphilis tests weren't coming back positive for patients with AIDS. His breakthrough was realizing that after three months from infection, blood tests were no longer reliable. At the time, I realized this applied to everyone, not just those with AIDS, though I see online now that some people interpret it differently (like saying it only affects "people with weakened immune systems"). Soon enough, a false negative confirmed my fears during my mother's test; looking at certain medical terms and lab results, I realized she was infected too. But still, I couldn't bring myself to speak up. She never asked me anything.
Back in high school, and especially after being exposed again at the local community pool in St. Louis, my girlfriends would catch that look in my eyes whenever the topic came up. They would try to discretely suggest I go to the doctor. I knew they meant well, but I "knew" deep down that the tests wouldn't show anything.
Years passed. I tried to be careful not to infect anyone, which was stupid... because, of course, there are people who don't realize they are spreading it since the symptoms aren't obvious to someone who doesn't "know." However, my college friends definitely caught it from me—it was unmistakable. I'm talking about non-sexual transmission through contaminated items, which is a very real way to spread it regardless of what doctors tell you. I see it in the people around me—the dark circles under their eyes, the hair loss... I can sense through the subtext that some people have been tested. I even heard a friend's boyfriend joke openly that the tests are still the same and show nothing, yet I continue to keep this monstrous secret.
What hurts the most, and what weighs most heavily on my shattered conscience, is seeing that even a young kid in my neighborhood is a friend who has been infected. Later, I started seeing those same dark circles under the eyes of other kids in St. Louis.
Today, when it feels like hardly any child is spared, and in countries where the infection reached before it did here, I simply have to admit to this disgusting crime against someone else's health. Against someone's life.
Because reading articles about how scientists think there's no cure for teenage headaches while actually KNOWING the truth... it truly feels like Frankenstein's monster.

This is the only place I'll post, and if the moderators decide to delete this, please copy it for some "more serious" news outlets. I know there are others sensing this catastrophe, but syphilis is so stigmatized that no one wants to be the one to break the news. I have to do this to find some peace with myself.
Because—I DID NOT GO TO THE DOCTOR when I should have. And all this time, I have been CERTAIN of what is happening. Now, when doctors tell me that's not "it," I honestly don't know if they are all just messing with me.
I am certain that once this letter goes public, people who know me will come forward, recognizing the symptoms or confirming their old suspicions.
I've removed my name, Jose Miller3. Thank you, Alexander Collins4, for pointing that out; I didn't notice earlier that I had left my full name in.

P.S. It is hard to ask for forgiveness through this medium ("if you see someone every day, you must show symptoms") regardless of everything (un)done. It is incredibly difficult to hear the cynicism from people who claimed to be my friends. It is hard to face the sheer horror of what I have caused...
It was always easier to slide back into the lie. Until now.

So, here's my situation... I've been training ITF Taekwondo and kickboxing in Cleveland for three years now, and I compete in both. This year, I moved to Chicago for college, and I’m having the hardest time finding a club that actually clicks with me. I checked out a session at a local gym, but they were strictly WTF Taekwondo, which isn't really my thing.

I heard there might be a new combat sports arena opening up over on West Madison Street... anyone know if that's true??

Anyway... can you guys recommend a good club? I'm looking for two main things: a great group of people and intense, killer workouts. 🙂
