The Ramones in Music ·
Yeah, I’ve got that too (just on MP3), though I remember seeing the "Good Guy" single on vinyl back in the day.
I think I've only seen that flag cover once in my entire life. To be honest, I haven't really listened to the album much—I'm just not huge on The Ramones without Walter.
Does anyone know what happened to those guys? What are they up to now?
Who's taking the championship? in Formula 1 ·
Personally, I’ve got my money on Michael Schumacher taking the title this season. Kimi Raikkonen is definitely a strong contender, but let's be real—Michael is the man, especially since he's driving for Ferrari. That said, I think Juan Pablo Montoya is a solid driver too; if he could just catch a bit of a lucky break, he’d be right up there fighting for the top spots.👍

Who do you guys think is going to take home the championship title this year? I know we touched on this recently, but so much has shifted since that last thread. Also, while we're on the subject of Formula 1, who are you actually rooting for?

I want to see SNL on TV! They used to broadcast it just two or three years ago...
What does our music taste say about us? in Music ·
I mean, music definitely says a lot about a person... but I’m not out here looking for friends based on their playlists. Honestly, nobody in my neck of the woods listens to what I listen to—it's all rappers, hard rockers, punks, or metalheads around here—but I don't really mind. Every once in a while, I'll even vibe to something someone else puts on. 😁 I just never force my taste on other people, though. It doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, right? 🙂

It's just so much...

I absolutely hate those kinds of questions! It’s like walking up to someone and asking them what kind of crap they're full of. When I’m feeling stressed, I just grab some chocolate—yum, this almond one is incredible—and put on some Jinx. I definitely wouldn't listen to that if I were in a romantic mood or if I hadn't eaten anything yet (that's when I need that B.B. King vibe). But honestly, it doesn't even matter that much. I've seen hardcore punks losing their minds to country music... teehee... and jazz enthusiasts riding the subway with Guns N' Roses blasting through their Walkmans 🙂 I wouldn't limit myself

I was actually just thinking about mentioning Angelopoulos' "Eternity and a Day"... Yorgos Arvanitis and Andreas Sinanos did the cinematography for both Ulysses Gaza and Eternity and a Day.

Alright, Dean, though I was actually thinking about The Ramones (all their LPs)...

Thanks Fleetwood Mac, I actually own all the albums by Punk on vinyl. As for CDs, I'll pick them up whenever I happen to be out and about (until then, MP3s do the trick, and I’ve already got most of it downloaded)

Is there anything online

I hope the mods won't kill me for digging up such an old thread, but my private messages aren't working right now;
Dean, if you haven't found those albums yet and you're still interested (it's all online, by the way), shoot me a DM. If my PMs are still acting up, we can figure something out via email...
Robert Cooper41 said:... those Asian films shot by Christopher Doyle (Hero, In the Mood for Love, Happy Together, Temptress Moon, Chungking Express ...) and Mark Lee Ping Bing (Springtime in a Small Town, Millennium Mambo, Vertical Ray of the Sun...) are also great.

I’d also throw in Tran Un Hung's The Scent of Green Papaya... 🙂

Hey, what's up, Sinkon? Chill out a little, man—you're gonna break your hands if you keep going like that!

😁 😁 😉

You’re totally right about The Sky Is Crying—it hits different when you tip your hat to it. But man, that Red House by Jimmie is on another level. It’s unbeatable Blues. Honestly, I don't think even Muddy Waters or Robert Johnson could touch it. Then again, they were all legends! At the end of the day, Blues is the most powerful thing out there. Peace to all my fellow Blues lovers!

I just finished downloading Stevie and Albert King’s track "Confessin' the Blues," and man, I’m speechless... there's really nothing left to say.

I agree that the performance matters a lot, but you’ve also got to write a great song 😉

Stevie is an absolute legend... The Sky Is Crying... there's nothing stronger... except maybe Hendrix🙂

It feels like I'm the only one who wasn't a fan, probably because that ending was just plain stupid. That said, Denzel Washington was incredible, and I absolutely loved those three Mexican actors they had in the mix.

The staff is constantly shuffling things around or moving stock, but if you actually try to ask them a question, good luck getting an answer. Look, I’m not judging people who work there just to pay the bills, but it’s honestly pretty ridiculous to see someone trying to sell you something they clearly know nothing about.

1. Employees are just rearranging stuff because they have to look busy. If they sit still for even a second, some manager will swoop in and snap, "Hey, you want to go work on the NYSE instead?"
2. You can't expect a salesperson—who basically has three months of experience—to give you a technical breakdown of how a lawnmower engine works. That’s pretty much the standard at most big-box stores like Walmart or wherever else.
3. The pay isn't exactly peanuts compared to other jobs, but man, the working conditions are absolutely brutal!
