My post just "reappeared" on Politics, complete with that same annoying 15-second delay

If you want to avoid double-posting like you described, just use the "preview post" option. Works like a charm for me, hopefully it does for you too. 🙂

Hogare, look, I'm just a total redneck. I write my message, smash the "Send my love to motherland" button, and boom—it's gone. I don't need any fancy tricks.

The thing is, the site keeps flagging me, saying I can't send another message within 15 seconds because I already sent one. And honestly? When I check, the message is already there. But I swear I didn't even hit send!

It's already happening over on "politics," but here in "The Book of Complaints," it hasn't started yet. Though, those guys over in politics probably already know what people are gonna type before they even finish. 😢

PS: Or maybe they just love getting the same message twice. You know how it is... Fata is Fata...

So, I’ve been noticing this weird glitch over the last month or so. Every time I hit that save button on my posts, I get this annoying pop-up telling me the message is already saved and to just wait about 15 seconds before trying again (though the whole window actually lasts like 30 seconds). The kicker? It’s actually working fine! My posts are getting saved perfectly—you can see them if you just browse the boards or even log out and back in. It's like the site is gaslighting me!

That was the last time today:
I honestly can't even deal with some people right now. Seriously. I was just sitting here thinking about how much certain folks love to hear themselves talk, and then I saw what Joseph Allen7 was saying. Like, excuse me? Are we even living in the same reality? It’s wild how some people just dive headfirst into a topic without a single clue. It’s like watching someone try to drive a stick shift in downtown Chicago without ever having opened a manual. Just total chaos! And don't even get me started on the whole "expert" vibe some of these guys try to pull off. We see you. We all see you. Anyway, I was reading through some stuff earlier—kind of a deep dive into some heavy politics—and it just reminded me how much noise there is out there. Everyone has an opinion, but nobody wants to do the actual legwork. It's exhausting. But hey, that's just my two cents. Maybe I'm just being cynical today. Probably. But seriously, some of these takes are just straight-up unhinged. Grab your popcorn, folks, because this thread is getting spicy.

So, get this—I tried to delete just one of those two copies, right? And wouldn't you know it, the whole original just vanished into thin air! Total disaster.

Look, I’m not saying I’m "trigger-happy" here—I definitely don't just spam the same post over and over again. But I gotta say, this has been happening for like a month straight now. I've noticed it, and it's ALWAYS happening within 15 seconds when I'm supposed to have a full 30.

That’s just your classic Man in the Middle right there.

P.S. It took like 10 seconds just to save this post, and no, it didn't even prompt me to re-type anything!
PPS: Seriously, that PS lasted for like, less than a second.
Technical issue: Stuck in an infinite login loop in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Ugh, here we go again. I tried adding a comment to this post and got kicked right back to the login screen. Seriously, you guys need to fix this site.

I was just trying to quote or reply to some threads over in the Politics section, right? But every single time I try, it forces me to re-log, and then—bam—it won't let me type a single thing. Total nightmare.
Technical issue: Stuck in an infinite login loop in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Seriously,

At 5:00 AM, you're hitting that exact same login loop. It’s ridiculous—you have to log back in 2, 3, 4, or like, a million times just to get one single thing to stick. Literally every single post requires a re-login.

Someone needs to give those Black Knights a serious wake-up call. They're out here living off our misery because they clearly don't have anything better to do with their own lives.

Things are finally looking up.

But now, every single time I try to log in or shoot someone a DM, it just kicks me out and asks me to re-log. It’s a total loop. Endless.

Seriously guys, can we get those Black Knights sorted out? This guy's opinions are pretty ridiculous to begin with, and clearly he's struggling to back them up in public.

I’ve been noticing this weird glitch where the server starts tripping whenever things get busy—usually right around 8 AM, midday, or during that evening rush at 5 or 6 PM. It keeps throwing errors with login requests.

Basically, you log in just fine, but the second you actually try to post something, the forum kicks you out and asks you to log in again. It’s a total loop! You can’t do anything, not even check your DMs. The only way to fix it is to basically walk away from the computer for about 15 minutes, and then somehow it just "fixes itself." It’s incredibly annoying.

It looks like the issue might be tied to those Akamai cache servers that most US internet service providers rely on. If you run a quick netstat, you’ll see this address popping up constantly:

(ip adresa).deploy.static.akamaitechnologies.com:http

Everything only goes back to normal once that connection hits a fin_wait state. Since these are supposed to be cache servers meant to lighten the load, it seems like when the main site gets slammed, the server isn't communicating the connection status properly to the cache servers.

You guys should probably double-check the cache forward protocol settings on your server and make sure everything is syncing up correctly with the ISPs.

So, I was having this back-and-forth on the forum with Dark Rider
and now suddenly all my posts have vanished, along with the whole thread mentioning Dark Ryder.

Can someone tell me what the heck is going on?

So, I was venting about how I got treated in that thread about Immigrants.

And then, out of nowhere, I get this message...

Jack Cook7, you don't have permission to view this page. This could be happening for a few different reasons:

Your account might not have enough privileges to see this page. Are you attempting to edit another user's post, use admin tools, or access some other restricted part of the system?
If you're just trying to post, the admin might have suspended your account, or maybe it's still waiting to be activated.

Can someone please explain what's going on?

Look, we had a literal war back in the States, and I bet basically every household within 50 yards of an ammo depot probably has a couple of grenades stashed away somewhere.

So yeah, we’re still twenty times more chill than Sweden, where they haven't seen a war in like 200 years.

Alex Scott5 said:Take a look at what Trump had to say about Denver back in 2003, starting from the 2:30 mark:

Watching Trump and Nelson Rockefeller bicker on camera during that campaign trail is something else; he's laying out his "vision" for how to integrate Denver into the Mexican state under the new circumstances. Now that it's 2015, watching the Desert Storm celebrations held in that very same city feels different once you realize all those supposedly brilliant, long-term strategies completely fell apart...

Trump vs. Nelson Rockefeller talking Mexican visions. Oh, motherland. 🤦
Why was my thread about feminism in politics closed? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
If I can jump in here for a sec.

I remember this one thread over on the "Politics / World / Ukraine" board that was all about systemic discrimination against men. I used to pop in there every few months just to see what was up because there was actually some interesting stuff being said. It was pretty obvious there were two main camps, and both sides had their fair share of extremists. After a ton of arguing, complaints, decent moderation, some questionable moderation, and honestly just some really trash posts from certain users, they ended up locking that thread for good.

Now, looking at another topic where I’m way more active—the "Politics / World / Ukraine" section—it’s gone through a similar evolution in just about a year and a half (you can check out the condensed "history" of it right here in the book complaint). Even though the subject matter is super heated, it’s become a pretty legit spot. Info gets shared fast, and people are quick to call out misinformation, no matter who's pushing it. Because of that, the thread has turned into a solid source for real news—kind of like a daily digest—and it's actually fairly reliable, at least compared to the mainstream media you see on TV. Of course, none of this would work without the moderators working their tails off to keep things under control.

Personally, I think we could apply that same logic to this current thread, especially seeing how much everyone here actually cares. At the end of the day, we're all just looking for the truth, right?
Nancy Wood6 said:Look, I don't think this is actually the smartest move—mostly because Jehovah's Witnesses aren't exactly a major power player or anything that shifts the needle in society—but hey, I can totally see where the American judicial system is coming from here. At the end of the day, you’re dealing with a self-discrediting pseudo-religious group that keeps tripping over its own feet. Their whole doctrine comes from some messy headquarters in Brooklyn, just a bunch of nonsense they have to constantly bury and then "fix" by claiming they got new revelations...

Anyway, I really hope the American courts reconsider their decision—not because I'm a fan, but honestly, because Jehovah's Witnesses have this habit of operating outside the lines. It’s way better to have them out in the open where we can actually keep an eye on things, rather than letting them go underground. If they go illegal, the police are going to have a massive headache dealing with that entire disorganized mess—and don't even get me started on all those annoying accusations about "suppressing religious freedom"!

Jehovah's Witnesses don't act illegally.

Interesting. They figured me out ages ago, but hey, I’ll write whatever I want regardless. Man, look how far this forum has come in just 15 years. 😢

Anyway, just curious—how much have you guys actually chipped in to support everyone's favorite corner of Reddit? 🤣
Question for the Politics/World moderators in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Do you guys think I can start a thread in the Politics/World section about this:

"Are NATO and US troops in America actually an occupying force?"

I want to lay out all the facts to show why I think that title is totally fair.
Suggestions for improving Reddit in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I’m thinking you guys should totally add some visual charts to the Reddit homepage:

1. A cool graphic showing user login trends over time—total numbers, broken down by subreddits and specific threads.

2. Something similar to the first one, but for post volume (not just counting posts, but actually looking at word counts too).

3. Deep-dive analytics on how people are interacting with different topics—like who's posting versus who's just lurking and reading.

From a dev standpoint, building these tools and visualizations is pretty straightforward since all this activity data is already sitting right there in the Reddit traffic logs.
Look, saying ">" is pretty straightforward semantically. It’s got nothing to do with Nazis, communists, or any of that other stuff.

Basically, it refers to a group of people who seized power illegally, based on that country's own laws.

Or, more generally, it describes a group in power that stays there by ignoring the nation's laws—or just ignoring common sense entirely.

So, if you guys actually agree with my little definition here, you can judge for yourselves whether calling a certain Government a ">" is fair or not.

tihobl is one of those high-quality posters over on the local news forums. He’s never been shy about being a Mexican from Little Rock—it’s right there in his profile—and he speaks with an accent. He did make one really nasty comment once about sniping some journalist out in the Donbas, so he got slapped with a week-long ban, which was totally fair if you ask me.

Here's what he said:
If today is the anniversary, that means they starved 10 million people to death in a single day. Huge props to the Soviets, honestly—even Americans couldn't pull off a feat like that. We only manage to kill about 3 million Africans a day through starvation.

This whole thing is tied to how much current Ukrainian politics exaggerates everything regarding their history with the USSR. Even Solzhenitsyn, who was the harshest critic of the USSR, used to violently question these numbers, not to mention the whole purpose behind them.

When the current political vibe in Ukraine treats these figures like they're absolute gospel, common sense tells you something is definitely off.
