Cost of breast augmentation in Health ·
So, here’s the situation: my aunt is visiting from the States this summer, and she’s looking to undergo a breast augmentation—specifically moving from a B-cup to a C or D. Does anyone have recommendations for reputable clinics or surgeons who specialize in this kind of procedure? And more importantly, what kind of price range are we actually looking at these days?

Thanks. 🙂

Look, I agree that whether I’m dating a Black man or not is none of your business, but if I put you in a position where you could actually catch something, wouldn't you want me to tell you? Wouldn't you want to know?

And just suppose you did get infected—what then? Would you sit there cursing the person who passed it to you? And let's be clear here, since it seems we need a reminder: we are talking about a disease that currently has no absolute cure and still claims lives on a massive scale.

😈

No offense intended, but that is an incredibly foolish take.

Should I be demanding to know if my surgeon is HIV positive before they go under the knife? Is that even a reasonable question to ask when there's a genuine risk of infection on the line? It’s a heavy thought, certainly. On the flip side, I can't help but feel that if I were the one carrying some sort of infectious condition, it would be only fair—no, absolutely essential—to disclose that to my doctor. Is it easy to speak up about something like that? Of course not. It's an incredibly uncomfortable position to be in, but isn't being transparent simply the responsible thing to do?

I find the sentiment "that’s none of your business, it’s a private matter" to be utterly irresponsible. Truly. If there is even a shred of possibility that I, or anyone else walking down the street, could be exposed to an infection, then the concept of "privacy" flies right out the window. Does one's personal autonomy suddenly grant them immunity from the consequences of their actions on the rest of society? Of course not. Once you introduce a risk of transmission to the public, it ceases to be a private affair and becomes a matter of collective safety. How can we possibly claim to live in a civilized society if we ignore such blatant disregard for the common good?

I don't know about you, but I don't take my life—or anyone else's—lightly. As a future doctor, that’s a reality I have to live by. Is it really a joke? It shouldn't be.
NBC segment: Let's talk health in Health ·
Is anyone else watching this program right now?
Today they tackled a fascinating topic regarding FIFA and the ongoing development of vaccines for it. The guests included a specialist gynecologist from St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and a dermatologist—I can't recall their names at the moment, though I'm fairly certain they both hail from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.

I have to admit, the broadcast left me feeling somewhat shaken; specifically, the imagery they chose to display and the overall visual impact of it all. Ugh.
I truly hope you are all staying on top of your regular checkups!

I’ve posted this under Health since it feels like the most appropriate category for such a subject. If the moderator believes it belongs under Television, please feel free to move it. 🙂

No matter how I crunch the numbers, they just seem way too expensive. Besides, am I really going to see much of the Rolling Stones at this rate? 😛
Dealing with bad cramps? in Women's Health ·
My period hit me incredibly early—I was only eleven—and from day one, it’s been nothing but agonizing cramps and heavy bleeding. Not once in all these years has a cycle passed without lasting a full week accompanied by an absolute deluge. 😢
I used to spend my first or sometimes even second day of the month stuck at home, completely incapacitated. I couldn't move, period. Luckily, I didn't deal with the dizziness or nausea, but still. I'd just lean on Ibuprofen or Advil and things like that, which offered some temporary relief, I suppose.

Everything changed when I started taking birth control at seventeen, and honestly? It’s been a total game-changer. 🙂 My cycles aren't longer than five days anymore, and the flow is actually manageable.

When I tried to take a break from the pill, my period immediately reverted to its old, chaotic self—except it actually lasted ten days instead of seven! 😲 Once I got back on them, everything smoothed right out again.
What is wrong with these folks... in Music ·
I honestly can't wrap my head around it, but from what I've gathered, people seem to blow through the most cash when they're listening to country music. It’s like they feel this desperate need to flash their wealth just to prove everyone wrong 😬
Independence Day (1996) in Movies ·
I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve sat through this one, and honestly? I’d do it all over again in a heartbeat. It’s one of those unforgettable cinematic experiences that just sticks in your soul. Truly one of those rare gems that actually made me want to sit through the whole thing in a theater 👍

People, just focus on the facial features.😵😬 Honestly, I’ve even started dodging my own shadow lately.🤣

Look, I'll step over a line or stand squarely on those sidewalk tiles if I feel like messing around. But that's purely for the hell of it. It's not like I actually pay attention to that stuff. 😬
OCD: General Discussion Thread in Psychology & Therapy ·
Back when I was renting a room in a roughly 1,000-square-foot apartment—and if my two roommates ever headed out for a few days, leaving me solo—I would spiral into this absolute obsession with checking the locks. I’d constantly be pacing around, obsessively verifying which doors were secured. Every single time my boyfriend would drop by, I’d badger him about it, insisting he 😬 make sure the door was locked, and then I’d end up asking him five different times later just to be sure.

Even while I was stuck at work, I couldn't shake it. I’d find myself mentally rewinding the "movie" of my exit from the apartment, desperately trying to replay every tiny detail to confirm with 100% certainty that I had actually turned the key. The fear of having forgotten was just... constant.

Now that I'm back home with my parents, that anxiety has finally vanished, mostly because we have one of those deadbolt setups where there isn't even a handle on the outside. Once the door shuts, it stays shut; you can't get in without a key. Honestly, for anyone struggling with this kind of lock-related paranoia, the ultimate fix is to just install a lock that can't be opened from the exterior. If it's physically impossible to enter without a key, you don't have to spend your life worrying about whether you turned the bolt. 😬

It was also the perfect solution for my brother, who used to sprint out the door for school in such a rush that he'd leave everything wide open—doors swinging, lights blazing, total chaos. 😬
Dealing with Tinnitus in Health ·
My mother mentioned her son is experiencing this constant ringing in his ears; given his history with scuba diving, it’s almost certainly a lingering consequence of pressure changes. He’s been struggling with this for months now, and finding effective treatment has proven to be an absolute nightmare. If this persists, you really ought to make an appointment with a specialist this coming Monday without fail.

Is everyone else coming down with something too? It feels like there's some kind of nasty flu bug tearing through the country right now... 😕

If I can chime in here, I am incredibly lucky—I catch a cold maybe once a year, if that, or sometimes not at all. 🙂

Now, I'm not sure if there's a scientific link here, but I drink ice water constantly and eat ice cream year-round, so my throat never even gets a chance to get sore. BUT, of course, that means I have to be extra careful about my kidneys. 😢

I’ve swapped out my probiotics, and this is already my third attempt!
And how much money have I wasted driving from one city to another just because someone claimed, "Oh, this clinic is better"? They sent me my lab results, and they basically told me the infections would just keep coming back over and over again?!??! Honestly, I cannot stomach this—damn those persistent bastards!!!! MUSHROOMS!!! Only if they're grilled... 😁

My mother used to deal with them constantly right before her period. Most of the time, she was advised to take a tampon soaked in some plain yogurt and keep it inserted for three hours, for a couple of days leading up to her cycle.

When I was dealing with the same issues, I tried that exact thing, and—it actually works. It’s obvious you’re experiencing a constant dip in your immune system, which allows them to multiply like crazy. Give it a shot. A few days on, then a break. If that doesn't do the trick, then I truly don't know what else to tell you.

I’d sooner go out fishing than slaughter a Cow. Meat just isn't my thing.
But really, how on earth were you planning to kill a Cow with nothing but a knife? 🤔

Ketonal?! ABSOLUTELY NOT!!!!!

It’s more than just "not great." My grandfather uses that stuff for his most excruciating, bone-deep pain, and even then, I wouldn't touch it. 😢

It's brutal on the liver. Honestly, it's bad for just about everything!
