All of that, plus the fact that they’ve been cranking the AC in the classroom right above his head all week, so he's feeling a bit on edge... especially since he was already out on Monday because we suspected something might be up. It’s just a bunch of stuff piling up that isn't necessarily even about a virus. And now, his teachers are basically giving him a wide berth today because they know he's the closest contact; the second he lets out a cough, they practically leap back three steps 🙂
So, my buddy is sharing a bench with me right now, and honestly, he was looking pretty transparent yesterday, and today he’s already complaining about his stomach acting up. We’ve all gotten our shots at home, so I guess we’ll just wait and see how this plays out.
And this sick little jerk is out at massive crowds downtown and in the parks every single weekend, so yeah, he's basically the prime candidate for spreading this thing.
So, here’s the lowdown on my kid's school day today: apparently, some kid who caught the bug stayed home, and nobody even bothered to check in on him. They just pushed through classes until the bell rang, and then they basically told everyone they might see each other again on Monday. 😢
Update: My buddy sitting next to me on the bench just got word yesterday—he still hasn't received any official guidance from the CDC. Apparently, they’ve been calling the school all morning, but nobody is picking up. First period is just PE in the gym right now.
Total collapse, and I guess this is just the beginning.
So, my kid's homeroom teacher just shot over an email saying everything is business as usual at school today, unless the CDC decides to flip the script on us.
Turns out, the guy sitting right next to my little one in class officially tested positive.
So, they ran an evacuation drill at the high school today. Just a few hundred kids all crammed together in one tiny little park... total chaos. And get this—nobody was even wearing masks. 🙂
hollowmason64 I guess I'm just gonna say what everyone else is thinking, even if it makes me look like a total cynic... Look, we can laugh about it, really, we can. It’s honestly kind of hilarious. But man, I don't know... I guess I just don't get this whole fashion crowd. They take themselves way too seriously. It's like they get so incredibly offended by everything that they end up turning it into some massive, bureaucratic disaster on a corporate PDF—something with a ridiculous 45-point penalty that hangs over your head all the way until the absolute end of the year. December 31st, 2021. Just a total joke, I guess. Maybe it’s "only" through the end of the year... I mean, she didn't exactly have the option to just burn through it all by Easter anyway.
Don't say I didn't warn you. 😁
What’s even the point of this whole thread being fun when it’s someone else getting dragged? I guess people just love a good spectacle when they aren't the ones in the crosshairs.
Jeffrey Long said:Well, I just got an update from the school saying they’re moving to 40-minute sessions instead. 😬
I wouldn't be surprised if this change is due to their shift schedule; they're currently hosting an elementary school that can't hold classes right now because of earthquake damage... 🤔
Could be. Here's what the school website says:
Here’s some of the important stuff for the first day back:
students and teachers are required to wear masks
kids will get their textbooks at school on the first day, so please make sure to bring your backpacks
Your posts haven't been messed with, unlike some of the other guys who actually stayed on track with the discussion, even if things drifted into lighthearted banter.
But honestly, that’s mostly because (and I mean primarily) they just keep deleting those two loudmouths who constantly barge into every single thread with their nonsense. I'm pretty sure you know exactly who I'm talking about.
Honestly, we should probably just register every single one of those party youth wing kids. Maybe put them on some kind of watchlist or something, just to be safe. I mean, if you ask me, there isn't a single one of them out there with actually decent intentions.
Larry Walker24 said:What makes you think I’d ever drop a comment like that in a chat room where you're the one pulling the moderator strings?!
Let's just be real here—Larry Walker24 is sitting on 395 points, and I'm basically just sitting around waiting for him to slip up so he can get gray-listed.
rustydrifter10 is the boss around here, so whatever she decides goes. I'm personally hoping she'll just scrap the ban.
How am I at 395 points when I managed to crank out 80 in just two weeks during a massive run?
Who exactly orchestrated this judicial 'omerta' surrounding the final verdict against the mother of the Republican Party boss in Washington, D.C., during that corruption scandal?
Vinka Luetić Herman, working with a whole crew of buddies, spent years pocketing bribes to fix up fake disability pensions. The verdict actually became final way back on February 28, 2020, but then—get this—nobody said a word about it publicly for a year and a half. I mean, maybe it's because Mislav Herman stepped up as the Republican Party head in Washington, D.C. in November 2020, and then went on to be their candidate for mayor and a VP on the City Council. Just seems convenient, I guess.
