Both Lewis Hamilton and Vettel will likely do everything in their power to avoid being paired up in the same garage. I suspect whoever signs first will be quite content with that, provided they can ensure they aren't stuck sharing a cockpit with the other.
stormybadger8 said:If Ferrari is just a trash can, and McLaren is merely the kid holding it... what exactly is the sludge at the bottom? Good grief, I can't even imagine how much more pathetic this gets. 🤦🤣🤣🤣
Don't you see? Fans have simply grown tired of pointing the finger at Ferrari for why Lewis Hamilton didn't clinch the title.
For me, alongside Spa-Francorchamps, this is easily my favorite race on the calendar. It’s such a stunning circuit, one that consistently delivers unexpected thrills. I'm just hoping this typhoon passes us by so we can actually get to enjoy the top eight. 🙏 🙏
On a side note, problematic posts should always be reported. Especially on Politics, which is such a massive sub with so many users; we can't realistically expect moderators to catch every single controversial post.
Update: It’s been handled. Thanks for the report, and I’d kindly ask that you use the report button in the future.
I believe rustydrifter10 made her point quite clearly: it really comes down to the specific forum's culture, though a bit of colorful language generally isn't a major issue unless it's being aimed directly at someone else.
I don't hold an admin title, but I'm here nonetheless... For weeks now, we've seen a systematic purge of nudity across the entire forum because, quite frankly, there's no money in it for Google ads—and without those ads, this site can't survive. I realize the Joke section has taken a massive hit, but believe me, many other areas have been gutted even more severely (take the LJES section, for example). The real issue is that we're being policed by bots that lack any capacity for humor or understanding of context. 😢
Joe, there’s no point in complaining about someone else's hand. If you have an issue with your own cards, you should head up to the Complaints section for that.
The initiative is well-conceived, yet I personally find it unfeasible. To be precise, many forum members might support distorting obvious truths at a theoretical level, but they would encounter significant hurdles during actual implementation. For instance, matters such as Wounded Knee, various events surrounding the American Civil War, the specific roles played by certain American generals, then consider Russia's involvement in the war in Ukraine, or Israel's conduct regarding the Palestinians—these emotional and inflammatory topics regularly result in at least two factions of users, both of whom insist their perspective is the absolute truth while viewing any opposing view as an blatant falsehood. This isn't even limited to politics. We see similar disputes over undeniable facts regarding driving skills and specific maneuvers in NASCAR, and throughout the forum, we have debates ranging from evolution versus creationism and the efficacy of alternative medicine, down to whether certain characters in Turkish soap operas are portrayed positively or negatively.
The moderators, first and foremost, ought to establish certain civilized communication standards within which dissenters can express their opinions. Intervening to judge the veracity or the logic of specific claims should not, in my view, fall under moderator arbitration, except in truly extreme cases where it is judged that a user is intentionally peddling nonsense. This is especially true given that we have relatively recent examples on this forum of fiercely defended absurdities that are far more transparent than the examples mentioned above, making it exceptionally difficult to prevent individuals from voicing them. If examples are required, I shall cite the case of a user who attempted to dispute that the Round Earth is actually round using pseudo-scientific arguments. Furthermore, on one subforum, we even have a group of like-minded individuals who encourage one another with various links to obscure sources to defend the thesis that men are a discriminated and oppressed gender.
Therefore, aside from exceptional circumstances such as those noted, I believe the focus should remain on defining the framework for acceptable discussion rather than policing the truthfulness of the claims made.
Personally, I don't have any issue with Lewis Hamilton; if anything, I'd love to see him land in a seat where he can actually contend for championships again. Perhaps a move to McLaren would be interesting. 🤷
Well, it looks like the petitions have been received, and it’s clear there is significant support behind this; thank you all for stepping up. If Marasovac reaches out to Chase Bank with a formal request to lift the ban, I can assure you it will be given serious consideration.
Beyond the fact that the topic was opened by questioning whether certain moderators should be elevated to super-moderator status—a point the forum owner has already addressed today—comparing the behavior of anti-theists toward believers to the way the Gestapo treated Jews and Romneys is frankly revolting. It is an offensive comparison, not just to the anti-theists, but to the memory and suffering of Jews and Romeys alike. Spot on.
It turns out you still walk away with 5 points for winning the round. 😁 Ivica completely blindsided me, and I couldn't be bothered to dig through the rulebook on my phone. 😳 Well done, Philip. 🙏 🙏
rustyorca42, could you please provide the links to those few problematic posts? I'm referring to the ones where the moderators failed to take any action even after they were reported.
I seem to have completely miscalculated the points system; I was under the impression that winning the group earned you 5 points. 🙈 And you’ve gone and flipped the Tbf on its head. 😉
How on earth am I sitting here with only 6 points while Tbf is being hailed as the top player? Gentlecobra23, could you perhaps exercise a bit more oversight here? 😁
Fantastic. Finally, we’re seeing a decent result. 👋 If these numbers actually hold up, I suppose I should consider myself lucky that Philip and Tbf ended up in the second group. 😳
When can we expect the results to be posted? I'm stuck using my phone right now so I can't check them myself, though I have a feeling this round might see a pretty significant points haul across the board.
