We are veering quite far off course here... Since we are on the subject: what > points out is entirely accurate. The issue with electric vehicles is that they essentially just shift the pollution from a vast number of exhaust pipes to a much smaller number of power plant stacks. If these grids were required to support a significant portion of all vehicular traffic, our current power plants would be insufficient. Constructing new energy sources would be prohibitively expensive and ultimately suboptimal—because whenever there is a massive spike in demand for capacity, we inevitably end up relying on less desirable energy options. Furthermore, tidal energy isn't a universal solution; you can't just deploy it everywhere (for instance, it wouldn't work along the Atlantic Ocean), which, besides the limited capacity, raises serious concerns regarding massive energy transmission losses.
So, while I am not opposed to electric cars—after all, one must consider ecology and continue developing technology in that direction—it seems that hybrid technology is currently better for the planet than pure EVs. Hybrids combine the advancement of internal combustion engine technology with significantly reduced emissions by utilizing electric motors powered by locally produced electricity. To put it more bluntly, current Formula 1 is following the technological eco-trend much more effectively than Formula E.😁
The PŽK thread isn't a discussion about the war in Ukraine. When a moderator shifts a thread focused on Ukraine toward general chronicles or other side topics, it gets shut down. For instance, you’ve fallen right into this diversionary tactic by Brenda Cook4—trying to hijack the conversation by pivoting the focus toward moderation issues. If this continues, people are going to face consequences, including warnings, deletions, and thread closures. And let’s be clear: that would be due to intentional disruption, not because anyone actually has a problem with how the Ukraine thread is moderated. Therefore, I am requesting that we return to the original topic.
Well, basically, Reddit doesn't share its users' addresses. Therefore, I suggest we pause here; discussions regarding the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the rest can certainly continue elsewhere.
I’m honestly at a loss for words... Perhaps our generation will eventually witness the mainstream explosion of electric racing, but for now, I can't shake the feeling that it's just vacuum cleaner racing.
I suppose this is more of a question for the support forum, but since I’m already here: no, you can't control who views your posts. Even guest users have that level of access. The ignore function simply ensures that you don't have to look at posts from someone you find disagreeable—provided you aren't unfortunate enough to be dealing with someone whose posts are being hidden by a moderator.
On my tablet, the Reddit app displays the exact same layout as the mobile browser. It’s possible your app or device just hasn't updated to the latest version yet. 😉
1. Nico Rosberg 2. Lewis Hamilton 3. Kimi Raikkonen 4. Fernando Alonso 5. Valtteri Bottas 6. Sebastian Vettel 7. Daniel Ricciardo 8. Jenson Button 9. Felipe Massa 10. Kevin Magnussen
How can you be certain no one has prompted them yet? If they continue to sit there without taking action, some higher authority will eventually have to step in. 😉
The Amtrak moderators have absolutely nothing to do with this matter. Your critique is directed at the PDF History section, and someone from that department should be the one stepping up to provide an answer.
@fadedmason3/">@@fadedmason3, your post was removed because you quoted another thread that had to be taken down. But hey, since you restored the links, there's no harm done. @crimsoncyclist71/">@@crimsoncyclist71, no worries at all; I figured it was just an honest mistake.
@crimsoncyclist71/">@@crimsoncyclist71, there simply isn't any room on the PŽK for people with zero posts. If you want to air your grievances, you actually have to be an established member first. And if all your contributions were supposedly made here—or if you haven't even started yet—then you're either not a real participant or just some special PŽK clone. Neither scenario is going to fly.
As for everyone else, we can discuss the moderation team if you like, but let's leave Russia and Ukraine out of it. For those topics, please head back over to Politico.
I assume you’ve already filed a formal report regarding those loose cannons with the local moderators? If you haven't, I would strongly suggest you do so immediately; if you have, then we simply wait and see if anyone actually decides to show up...
Since this thread seems to be attracting quite a few outsiders with nothing better to do than toss popcorn, I’m going to lock it. If bluecyclist64 or the mods feel there's a need to add anything later, just let me know and we can get it sorted out.
I suspect we have reached the end of this particular discussion. It should be self-evident that labeling interlocutors as mercenaries, political puppets, or similar epithets is entirely unacceptable. The moderators have already clarified—on more than one occasion, I believe—that posts of this nature ought to be reported rather than engaged with, following the established principle of not feeding the trolls. I ask that you all please adhere to that protocol.
I don't anticipate being able to catch this upcoming race in person either. 😢 However, if I am watching from home, I expect it could be an excellent spectacle, much like the races at that magnificent circuit usually are.
Let's stay on topic, everyone. We are here to moderate the History section, not to police each other's profile pictures. If you find an avatar inappropriate, please just report it to one of the moderators.
Jesse Sanchez4, you’ve filed your complaint and it is being taken seriously. For now, I suggest you exercise some patience and refrain from provoking a ban for trolling.
