Maine Democrats finally moving on from the Platner mess in Students & Teens ·
So it looks like Troy Jackson is officially the pick to take on Susan Collins. After that whole disaster with Platner, it feels like they're trying to double down on the populist vibe to see if it actually sticks. Do you think a populist message is actually going to work against Collins in Maine?

The issue is I don't actually get the difference between prepaid cards and everything else 🤣
I'm currently using a PayPal's Mastercard.

Which one do I actually need to pull this off?
👍

Hey there!
I want to use the Google Translate API, but first I have to authorize them to charge me $300 if I hit certain limits. What's the point?
I hit Submit after entering my card info and just get an error:
Transaction failed. Apparently, they won't let you use prepaid cards anymore? Seriously?

Why am I seeing this? What does it actually mean?

Thanks.

Stumbled onto this movie by accident just now and figured, why not?
The lead actress is so stunning she basically carries the whole damn production on her back. 🙏
I’m feeling pretty sluggish today, so the vibe of this flick actually fits my mood perfectly.

Goddammit. 🙏

It’s what happens when you hang out with the same crowd for way too long. You get sick of each other and the constant roasting starts. 🤷 At first, when you're just getting to know someone, everything is great—you actually enjoy their company. But once you run out of things to say and start repeating the same old mindless stories every single day, it becomes inevitable.
In cases like this, if you know for a fact the person is solid and deserves respect, the best move is to create some distance. Maybe see them once a month instead. I used to hang out with a buddy every single day, and eventually, we both just started driving each other crazy. We scaled back how often we met, and now we rarely see each other (and never without a drink or some weed), but we still have each other's backs whenever things get heavy.

Well, at least make up your mind.

But honestly? I agree.>

It’s obvious they’re just pathologically jealous.
You should actually take it as a compliment. First off, you aren't dealing with those same deep-seated insecurities—assuming you aren't one of them—and second, it’s just proof of your actual worth.
Make them even more miserable by staying ahead.😉
We all gravitate toward what resonates with us personally, and music is no different. Every single note hits a nerve somehow, but it’s the combination of melody and lyrics that really pulls at your heartstrings. Most songs are just reflections of life itself, which is why anyone can find themselves in them.

Which song hits you the hardest? Which one feels like it was written about your own life? Feel free to explain why if you want. 😉

I'll go first:

Bob Dylan - The Man Who Married an Unknown
"What did you need that for, my little guy?
To throw it all away on a loser like that?"

"What was the point of all that
my beautiful girl?
You were worth a fortune,
so why did you let this guy drain you dry?
You absolute unknown!?"

Maybe you’re just untalented at certain things, but I don't think you're hopeless across the board. Is being unable to do something always a lack of talent? Or is it just poor focus, a lack of interest, or—to use your word—just being slow? Ever tried playing chess? Forget volleyball, that’s a lost cause...
Regarding the current school situation, there’s going to be a MASSIVE shift once high school hits, unless all those same people from middle school follow you there trying to keep up the same drama. It should turn out fine. And honestly, why do these insults get to you so much? They're just a bunch of DAMN SPOILED LOSERS who have nothing better to do than mess with someone's head. They're basically children compared to you, right? 🙂It’ll be stupid if you start fighting or even bothering to ignore them; just handle the conflict with cold indifference.
Good luck!
Hey everyone... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
When they start killing off decent people just for the sake of it . . .
Drew Smith said:It’s common knowledge. If smokers don't light up, they eat. When they're hungry, they smoke and lose their appetite.
It’s just gross seeing overweight people smoking. Once they quit, they’ll be even heavier because they have zero self-control. And seeing old people smoke? Disgusting. Quit before you hit 40 if you actually want to live.

See... that's not how it works for me. If I'm hungry and I light a cigarette, I get nauseous, my stomach hurts, I'm burping constantly, etc.
Not sure where else this belongs, but whatever.
So, I’ve managed to bulk up to 175 lbs, but man, it was an absolute grind. Blood, sweat, and tears.
The issue? It’s slipping right through my fingers. Keeping the weight on is a constant battle.
Can someone tell me if smoking messes with how the body processes food? Like, does smoking actually cause weight loss?
Take my mom, for example—she smokes (cigarettes😁) and is easily 45 pounds underweight, while my dad stays around 220 lbs because he doesn't touch them. I see the same thing with my uncle, my cousins, and basically everyone I know.
Thanks.

If I were in your shoes, the first thing I’d do is reach out to her side of the family. Surely you have an aunt or a grandmother you can talk to? Sit them down, explain what’s happening, and beg them to step in and put a stop to this abuse.

-Second: If you’re still talking to your dad—and I assume you are—just ask him if you can move in with him. Go live where he is, finish high school there, and then maybe head back home for college or find a job.

-Third (though I wouldn't recommend it): If none of that works, go talk to a school counselor or psychologist about what you're going through. Get some advice on how to cope so you can just grind it out for two years until you're finally independent.

That's it.
