Are we all the same? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Just ignore this. This isn't directed at those of you filing complaints about the Zelkova topic, but rather at the users jumping into the complaint to talk about Politics PDFs... which happened in your previous thread, too. Those posts have been removed.
Could you please be more specific with your complaint? If you're looking for a meaningful response...
How Pringles uses its position to protect Klonka in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You could have just listed the specific examples you feel weren't handled correctly by moderation. That should have been its own separate thread—one focused on her moderation style regarding politics and your own experience... Instead, you're quoting the exact post I issued a warning for and deciding for yourself what the topic is about Klonka.

To you, my warning is an attempt to protect Klonka. To me, it was simply maintaining order on this forum according to the rules.

I already provided instructions on how to file an appeal regarding Klonka's moderation. Feel free to start one.

Best regards!

EDIT: My apologies. Just to clarify your comment here:
I could have cited the massive amount of complaints regarding Klonka's work seen here and in the Banned Corner.

You shouldn't cite other people's grievances. Those complaints have already been addressed and they concern someone else. If you have concerns about something unresolved, something affecting you personally, or recurring behavior on the forums you participate in, then open a new thread and provide the links. We don't recycle threads that have already been closed or settled.

Listen, please don't start derailing this thread with whatever is happening over on the Politics subforum. You did the exact same thing during the last discussion about Zelkova... I'm really not interested, so keep it off-topic. If you keep doing this, I will be deleting your posts and issuing warnings, but unlike before, these penalties will be much harsher than a standard rule violation since you've all been officially warned.

If not, when can we expect her?
I really don't want the admin team here to be a carbon copy of some mediocre US government bureaucracy, where after I file a formal complaint, I then have to open yet another separate thread just to argue about how my first complaint was handled. Does that sound efficient to anyone?

And while we're at it—since posts seem to be vanishing into thin air and you're basically the only one actually talking to us—can someone please tell me how to get a hold of Christian Howard2? If she’s the one running the Women's Corner and handling complaints regarding moderators, I need to talk. Especially since certain moderator posts—both current and former—seem to be getting a free pass and going unpunished.

It’s much simpler for us to handle these matters separately. Especially when dealing with complaints related to PDFs like the Women's Corner, which tend to be a bit more volatile and prone to spiraling than complaints from most other PDFs.

Just because I'm the only one communicating doesn't mean I'm the only one moderating the thread.

Christian Howard2 will check in once she's on the forum. This thread only opened a few hours ago, so please just bear with us for a moment. We usually give the person in charge 24 hours to respond. It's summer, after all, and people aren't online as much...

If she isn't available, Nice will step in to resolve this.

EDIT: She's here, disregard my last point.

Regarding this

I also threw out a few questions for Nancy Cruz3, so if she isn't up to answering them, maybe someone "above" her could step up and do it? Pretty please.

Yes, I can answer. Whenever I am online...

It isn't our practice to issue warnings for posts edited within the allowed timeframe before a moderator even has a chance to spot them. We don't do that anywhere on the forum. It would result in way too many warnings if we penalized the original version of a post. I was acting as moderator at that moment, and while I was typing my reply to the OP, that post was written and then immediately edited, from what I can see...
My colleagues can correct me if I'm wrong and if warnings are indeed given for posts prior to editing.

If you're trying to draw a parallel to your own warning—it's been over an hour since your post went up, you've participated in the thread, and you had plenty of time to fix whatever caused your warning.

Any grievances regarding the moderation of this thread should be moved to a new topic. We shouldn't clutter this discussion, as this isn't the place to debate how this Women's Corner and Complaint thread is being managed.

So, you're asking what we can actually use to write stuff here? Seriously? Is that really the question? Look, it's pretty straightforward. You just jump in and start typing. No special equipment required, no fancy setup. Just your thoughts and a keyboard. What else would you need?

Besides being a direct answer to my question in the opening post, isn't it also just a blatant violation of the Forum rules?

Thanks!

I can't personally answer those kinds of questions. For anything regarding the CNN threads, you'll need to talk to the moderators for that specific section, the supermoderator—Sabaa, in this instance—or the administrator, who is Miami. Usually, you follow that hierarchy...

The moderators for this specific thread don't handle appeals unless they involve sections under their direct control (which would be Miami, since she oversees the entire forum). Their job is just to moderate so things don't spiral out of hand...

In this space, you can post freely as long as there's no insulting, provoking, trolling, dragging out old arguments from closed threads, or digging up resolved disputes...

As for reporting a moderator, they don't have the technical tools to issue sanctions against one of their own. If a moderator's post warrants action, it falls to the supermoderator or the administrator...

This isn't the Women's Corner, so please keep the discussion level appropriate. I ask that you refrain from calling other members "complexists" or using any other insults, provoking one another, starting unnecessary arguments, or dragging content over from the Women's Corner... let's just stick to the rules outlined in this PDF.

Why does this forum have double standards? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
You’ve been flagged, and it isn't just because of that one comment, but because of these as well:
Man, I really feel for you... even DJ would have poked fun at you if he wasn't a moderator. You spend all your energy focusing on everyone else and overdoing it. It's exhausting.

Exactly. Everyone is just out to get Rosemary Inc. I actually saw an apprentice there pick up a pastry right off the floor nearly two years ago. They served it without a second thought. And what? You think I'm going to cry about it? I didn't eat it, so it didn't matter to me, but I still went back there countless times. Now, heaven forbid we offer any criticism, or people just jump at the chance to trash the place on the forums? Give me a break... you're just as draining as Google...
It's about time we properly moderate Politics... in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Since this happens so frequently, it really won't be hard to drop a few examples here. Otherwise, you're just breaking the rules of this forum. Please don't throw around claims about things happening "constantly" or "always" without providing actual links. For outbursts like these, we issue warnings... Just read the rules and follow them.
This thread isn't intended for users to debate one another's personal opinions. I'm locking this topic for the time being. By "temporary," I mean until those responsible for making decisions or influencing these matters weigh in (Anderson, rustydrifter10). They have the authority to unlock this, issue a formal decision or opinion if they see fit, and decide whether to leave it open for further discussion... Until then, there's little point in continuing.

Fear of rubber bands in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Being sensitive isn't a valid excuse for ignoring or disregarding the PDF rules.
On Psychology, I see maybe one or two threads get deleted per month on average. I wouldn't call it a mass purge; it's actually pretty rare. But clearly, we have different standards. Seeing one or two threads wiped out within just an hour or two of each other says a lot about their approach...

I can certainly empathize with your frustration regarding deletions, as it bugs me too when people don't read the rules. However, no moderator is going to stop removing posts that ask for diagnoses of people in their lives, seek advice on how to mentally harass someone, or try to take indirect shots at the moderation team, no matter how much it might irritate certain users.

As for my own role in moderation, I’ll gladly step down if the majority of regular PDF users, my fellow moderators, the admin, or the owner requests it...
Fear of rubber bands in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Hey Boxer Letec, sorry for the delay, we haven't been around the forum much lately.

The situation with this thread is pretty straightforward—within just an hour of it being open, half the posts were either directly or indirectly criticizing the moderation or the mods themselves. There’s an entire PDF covering that, and by registering, every user agreed that moderators have the right to delete, move, or merge posts and threads. If someone is sensitive enough to feel insulted by that, then this forum isn't the right place for them... it wouldn't be for their own good.

Best regards!

On top of that, red cards seem to be handed out almost at random, often without any real justification. Meanwhile, posts filled with insults, off-topic chatter, and ad hominem attacks go completely unpunished, even when they're reported properly using the flag icon.

In certain threads, some users have been trolling for months. Everyone—except maybe the moderators—knows exactly what they're doing, yet they're allowed to stay. It’s incredibly rare to see them get a red card, let alone a three-day ban.

Looking at those last two points, it's pretty clear how biased some moderators are. They treat people who align with their own political views much more leniently than anyone else.

We need links, at least one for each of these claims. This complaint is far too vague. Without specifics, we can't see which threads you mean, which users are trolling, or where this behavior is happening.
Reported two posts but no one's responding in Feedback & Suggestions ·
So, you didn't report the post because you think it’s pointless, yet you're complaining about moderator inaction and throwing accusations. Brilliant...

As for whether any action will be taken, let's just wait for the standard processing time before anyone starts complaining about moderation again.

Posted last night. There are hundreds more like it on the PDF. I see you commenting—If they have to register... Yes. They do. Register and wait 24 hours. Otherwise, without following the rules mentioned above, your participation with entries like these could be summarized as follows—The trollforce is strong with this one.
Nosy banks in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
Chris Chase5 said:At the end of the day, lending money is a bank's core business, and they take on the risk of default every single time they issue a loan. When they ask you questions, it isn't because they’re being nosy; it’s about building a solid risk profile. It’s just much more likely that someone with a steady, high income or someone buying a home they actually intend to live in will follow through on their payments...

According to some statistical studies, married individuals tend to be more financially responsible than single people, and things like that. Personally, I think it's better to just provide the information requested, especially since being transparent might actually help you land better terms down the road.

Plus, they are legally obligated to gather as much data as possible to prevent money laundering and terrorism financing. Honestly, that part always makes me chuckle—people looking to move illicit funds aren't exactly standing in line at a local Chase branch waiting for a teller to help them out. 😁

Your logic is a bit off here; banks aren't trying to be nosy, and they certainly aren't the Gestapo...😁

The guy in the article was just trying to withdraw his own money from his account.

To answer the question from the original post—yes, I've dealt with something similar. For instance, I recently applied for a work permit for the USA. It had nothing to do with credit, since I don't have any loans or anything else that would make a bank hesitate to lend me money...
