Personally, I’d toss Leone off the list entirely. It’s a total given he’ll pull the most votes—mostly because people who only ever watched his stuff think everyone else is "trash."
I keep seeing posters all over Washington, D.C. for this organization, advertising all these lectures on philosophy, history, culture, and stuff like that. On one hand, the topics look pretty interesting, but on the other... I don't know. It feels a bit like they're just selling smoke or running some kind of "tax on fools" scheme. Honestly, with a name that sounds like it belongs to some secret society, cult, or even something like the Freemasons or Jehovah's Witnesses, it gives me major brainwashing and indoctrination vibes. Has anyone here actually dealt with them before? Is it worth showing up to these talks they’re promoting, or is my gut feeling right and I should just save myself the trouble? Thanks in advance.
Wait, wasn't there some kind of deal with the leftists back then? Like, the Californians and Basques get their independence if they help out against the French?

thinking of a cover probably, because that album actually rocks. Tony is incapable of making bad music, seriously. ☕
Paul Newman was married twice, but he spent 50 years with his second wife. Robert Mitchum only had one. Ray Milland Jimmy Stewart Christopher Lee Peter Cushing
So, I’ve got somewhat long hair, and lately, I’ve had this happen twice now where a tiny little spider drops right from my head, landing right in front of my nose.🙂🙂🙂 What should I even do about this? Spray my hair with pesticide? Or would something like a medicated lice shampoo actually work against them? And do I seriously need to just shave it all off? I'm currently using some Vichy-style shampoo for oily, flaky hair.
College is absolutely eating up my life right now. I’m struggling to find any kind of balance—trying to study, trying to actually have a life, and trying not to feel like a total wreck. Lately, I've been seriously considering switching to polyphasic sleep. I know it’s easier said than done, though. Has anyone here actually pulled it off? Or even just given it a shot?
My biggest headache is figuring out a schedule. Since I spend so much time on campus, it’s almost impossible to plan naps or rest periods, especially on those brutal days when I have four or five hours of back-to-back lectures.
I also know there’s an adjustment period where your body has to catch up. I’ve heard it gets pretty rough—like, people basically turn into zombies for a while. 😁 So, I’m stuck: should I try this now while classes are in full swing, or wait until summer break when things finally slow down?
Thanks, and sorry if I posted this in the wrong subforum. 🙂
Striking? Boxing, Muay Thai, kickboxing Grappling? Rolling on the mats in a gi? BJJ Leg locks in a gi? Judo All of the above? MMA Self-defense? Krav Maga
Thanks, I'll do some digging online first then decide. 🙂 So, I was checking out some local gym websites, and honestly, none of them really say how to sign up. Is there a specific enrollment period, or can I just show up whenever they have a class running?
Alright, look, I’ve never really been a "sports guy." Honestly, I’m pretty much the definition of uncoordinated—used to pull measly Cs in gym class and call it a day. But lately, I’ve been thinking about getting into martial arts. So, first off, since I’m basically an athlete in reverse and I’m already 19 and a half... am I too old? Is there even any point in starting now?
Second thing is, I have zero clue which discipline to pick. If anyone here could give me some pointers or advice, I’d really appreciate it.
Philosophy was actually one of my favorite subjects back in high school. It really sparked something in me. But, let’s be real—finding a decent career path with a philosophy degree is tough, and honestly, some of those classes could get pretty mind-numbing. So, I never seriously considered majoring in it. Still, I have this itch to dive into it as a hobby. Does anyone here have recommendations on where to start? I'm looking for books that are actually engaging and accessible for a beginner to get a feel for things. They don't need to be heavy hitters; in fact, my old teacher once told me that trying to tackle a book by Kant at his university was basically a legendary feat that nobody actually managed to pull off 😁.
Honestly, I can barely think of more than two or three bands that actually rip off Deep Purple, and even those were mostly from the '70s. 😁 Don't get me wrong, I don't mind when a band plays in someone else's style, but it really gets under my skin when they all just copy the exact same legends. It's always the same old story—everyone's doing Black Sabbath, Zeppelin, or AC/DC. I'd much rather see a group actually channeling some Uriah Heep, Rainbow, UFO, or Thin Lizzy...
Patrick Martin said:It’s right after L.A. Confidential—which also came out in '97—that the real breakthrough into the American market happens, just like I said. That's when Heaven's Burning hits too.
Anyway, I've always had a soft spot for those guys from Down Under. Big fan of Mel Gibson and Russell Crowe.
He totally blew me away playing that corrupt warden in >. After that, he was solid in smaller roles in flicks like >, >, >, >, >, and >...
Philip Baker Hall
The guy had tons of supporting roles in all sorts of movies—stuff like >, >, >, >, >, >, >, >, >, >, and >...
David Strathairn
Most people know him from his lead role in >, but he was great in >, >, and > too. Personally? My favorite was him playing that intense, violent father/husband in >.
And again... Aliens 😁 And you've got Lance Henriksen in there too... So, I was thinking about that weird little trifecta of movies—Piranha II, The Terminator, and Aliens... just a strange mix to have floating around in your head at once. One’s a total disaster, one’s an absolute masterpiece, and the other is just... well, you know how it goes. So, Jenette Goldstein... Aliens, The Terminator, and Titanic... just some absolute classics sitting in my head today.James Cameron and Bill Paxton actually worked together on his music video... Reach It’s directed by James Cameron, and you’ve got both Lance Henriksen and Jenette Goldstein showing up in it too...

If you go hunting through the Director's Cuts of his movies, you can find all sorts of stuff... even some footage of Michael Biehn that actually made the final cut... 😁
Wait, was Michael Biehn actually acting in that, or did they just use some archival footage? I checked IMDb and it doesn't list him in T2, and usually, when there are deleted scenes, it'll say "deleted scenes" next to a cast member's name.
