LEGO, you need to realize that some people genuinely might not like a certain band, even if they’ve listened to their tracks. Just accept it now, before you end up disappointed later in life...
It’s almost funny how they tried to pitch me $6.75 when I was looking for that Beatles single on MTV, all while they're out here trying to flip it for 300 bucks. 🙄
Jonathan King said:Just getting this thread back on its feet.... Does anyone have that single by The Ramones—My Life is New Wave—at a local record shop? $583---Go ahead, hit me up. Oi!
Haha, my buddy and I were already dying laughing over that one... They even have "New Punk Wave" if you want something a bit more mainstream $325. 🤣
Look, pitch and BPM don't mean a damn thing to me or most other people. I'm not interested in the technicalities of DJing for the sake of a party. If I were listening to a Tufirov set, I’d spend the night dancing, knock back twenty beers, and probably fall in love four times... whereas with your style, I'd just fidget uncomfortably three times and switch the radio station. 😁
placidotter15 is actually onto something here. Honestly, folk music makes me physically ill, but I can’t deny it has certain elements that some of my favorite bands actually tap into. Once I met a group of people who listen to everything from punk and jazz to the most obscure avant-garde stuff and even folk—people who are incredibly sharp and highly educated—it pretty much killed my last remaining argument against the genre. Let them have it, as long as I don't have to listen to it myself...
ironfalcon18, wouldn't you actually prefer it if folk music was considered "primitive"? You know, all that raw energy, pagan religions, Vikings, swords and sorcery, that whole vibe... 😁

Edward Richardson36 said:Both. But mostly the latter. I honestly can't wrap my head around what happens to someone's brain when they hear that kind of low-rent, Southern country music. It seems like some primal, primitive urge to just tilt your head back and start howling at the moon...
Ha, that's because Americans are really just Latin Mexicans.
Look, let’s be real about who actually cared. Staley's music isn't exactly life-changing for me, and strangers pass away every single day, so I don't find myself losing sleep over him...
