Bradley Jones9 said:No, dear, that was actually Linda Johnson15's response.

🤷 Well, you were quoting me...

Bradley Jones9 said:Actually, I wasn't even asking for recommendations on where to go; I was simply seeking an opinion on whether the price seems reasonable.☕

Well, we actually did give you our take on the price...

And as for where it came from—you were the one who bragged about it yourself 🙂

I mean, if the price isn't breaking the bank and you can actually swing the cost—then just go ahead and pay for it...
What's there even to ask about? 🤷

I’ve gotta say, I’m feeling the exact same way about this—it just seems like a massive amount, and honestly... a really significant amount at that...

Super deal 🥳

I’m totally with you on the whole "boycott" idea—and why people feel the need to go that route—but honestly, it feels a bit premature... things usually don't really start heating up until right near the end
MPO thread - what counts as a chat ban? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
If this chat is just about celebrating when things work out after months of
preparation—or if it’s just a place to cry when things go south, or even just a way to cheer during the good times—then I honestly think you all lack a heart...
We haven't ever really "chatted" in the true sense of the word; everything we've said here was tied to MPO, not just whatever we happen to be cooking up today

This is the one place where we can truly be ourselves with our struggles—where we encourage each other, offer comfort, and vent about those fragile pregnancies... it's where we understand one another without needing many words at all...

You really have no idea how much this whole thing means to us, regardless of how things actually turn out

IBM just isn't the right place for us... It's not that I want to read about their issues—the kind of stuff I was dealing with years ago before I even had my diagnosis—nor do they want to hear about us, because they just hope none of this will ever affect them
plus our posts are just going to get lost in a sea of noise

I’m asking the moderators to please, please reconsider everything once more

thank you

Sure, we could stop being dramatic and just start a thread over in off, but please realize... this is our home...

I think it looks absolutely wonderful—it really seems to mesh perfectly with all the other decor I've been seeing 😍

Richard Myers13 said:We ended up trying some treats from Sugarland on Sunday, and let me tell you, their ganache is nothing short of phenomenal! My partner is a huge fan of the four-flavor chocolate cake, and honestly, that dark chocolate sponge is just 😍 perfection. Personally, I was completely won over by the iced lemon zest with raspberry, though my partner found it a bit too tart for their liking—but I live for those kinds of flavors! In the end, we've decided to stick with the classics to make sure everyone is happy, so we’re going with the four-flavor chocolate.

We ended up serving their frozen treats, the four-flavor chocolate, a raspberry parfait, and even added an extra frozen dessert on the side, and honestly, it was more than enough to satisfy 50 people 😁

You might want to grab one more lighter variety, though... because that chocolate selection is definitely meant for the hardcore chocolate fanatics 😉

Last Saturday, I was at this birthday party and ended up having a slice of one of those ganache cakes from Memphis—it was honestly just delicious... 🙂

Sean Fox said:Ugh, I seriously need some help here... I'm trying to pick out some pies and pastries, but I'm stuck between three different spots:
Kansas City, NutriCorp, and Tom and Ann
I haven't tried anything from any of them, so I'm basically flying blind... if you guys have any thoughts or reviews, please, please help me out 🤷😕
thnx 😍

I actually had Tom and Anna at my first wedding about eight years ago, and they were absolutely phenomenal...
But honestly, over the last few years, I’ve only grabbed them once a year when a coworker brings them in for birthdays, and they just don't hold a candle to how they used to be... it's kind of disappointing.
As for Madaric, it's nothing special—those Russian pastry bites felt like eating soap... just really sad.

Sophia Gray8 said:Wait, aren't macarons French? Pretty sure I saw them listed on the menu at a local bakery here in the States. 🙂

Technically, they are French in origin, but these specific ones probably made their way over from London...🙄

You can pick some up in NYC at just about any decent pastry shop nowadays...😉

Honestly, you’re such a voice of reason...😬

Adam Vaughn said:So, we’ve got about 45 people coming over and there's basically a mountain of sweets on the table. Instead of one big cake, we went with 48 cupcakes set out on their own little display, plus a cheesecake and a strawberry parfait cake sitting right next to them. Those cakes are classic—we're talking about 16 slices each, and to make it fancy, we tucked a little chocolate and vanilla mousse shot between every single layer. Now, looking through all your feedback, I’m starting to wonder... do I actually even need that parfait cake 🤔?

Moira, it might be overkill, but people will definitely eat it 😁
There might be some folks who aren't really into cupcakes and would much rather grab a slice of cake 🤷

Personally, I thought it was awesome when we had this massive three-tier cake for 45 people and everything vanished in an instant... Everyone was scrambling for a second slice—it was practically a feeding frenzy at the dessert table 😍

So, a colleague of mine was at this wedding recently, and apparently, the newlyweds were serving these specific "treats flown in from London"
I had to ask her—like, what even are these?—and then she starts describing them, claiming you can only find them in London

They were macarons, obviously 🙄

😂

If they actually went through the trouble of having them shipped all the way from London... I honestly don't even know what to say about that kind of dedication... 😬

I actually just placed an order through Ogrizovic at Medtronic—honestly, they are so incredibly polite it’s almost overwhelming... 😍
I'm already starting to like 🙂
Wedding cakes and desserts in Weddings ·
As soon as I step into the hall, I head straight for the dessert table—I really prefer having them right there in front of me, rather than tucked away on some side table where everyone can gossip about how many trips I’m making for a little sugar... 😬

once, at one wedding, it was set up that way, so I just nudged my friends to go grab theirs first 🤣

Honestly, it seems to depend entirely on where you are... I’ve been to two different weddings in California, and in both cases, they didn't even bring out the sweets until after the main course was totally finished—so, like, around 9 PM
For me, that is way too late for anything sweet, and frankly, it’s just a bit disappointing 🤷

rustyskipper6 said:👋, please help me out here. I’ve only skimmed a few pages of this thread because my internet is being painfully slow and I don't have the patience to scroll through everything... does anyone know where in Washington, D.C. I can get custom cake toppers made? I saw some lady on TV doing them recently, but I missed the part where she said where she was located. If anyone has the scoop, I'd really appreciate it...

You should probably head over to the food and dining sub-forum—any of those wonderful bakers there would be happy to take a custom order from you...😉
I honestly didn't experience any symptoms at all🤷

So, what kind of dimensions are we actually looking at for the cake?

You know those expandable square baking pans—the ones you can pick up at places like Target or Bed Bath & Beyond—that let you stretch the size out to something like... oh, maybe a maximum of 60 x 60...

James Clark6 said:I find myself on a bit of a quest, searching for someone who specializes in crafting custom cake toppers upon request... if anyone happens to have a recommendation or an offering, please do reach out via private message... or, if you might know of a talented soul in this regard, I would be immensely grateful for the lead.

Actually, there's a regular user here named Migu who does this kind of thing—if you scroll back through a few pages, you should be able to find plenty of her work...
