They make the show more entertaining to watch. One bassist plays, while the female bassist keeps the guys in the front row occupied...

Where can I pick up some glittery shirts like the ones Rocket From the Crypt wears? Not that they were being subtle—one guy just unbuttoned his shirt down to his gut, stood right in the front row, and started screaming "Dirtbombs! Hell yeah!"

I just hope nobody runs into any trouble at the border on this otherwise friendly trip.
I can keep him under control; he's right outside my window now 🙂, and I've already spotted Guapo.

Are you one of those others? Now that we've completely crushed you, you're going to go out and dance? 🙂
These aren't personal biases. Čikara and Šiftar are geniuses. If you spent any time on Rolling Stone (which is garbage) following Čikara’s Amsterdam big city reports, his columns in Spin, or his work in Rhythm... and if you read Šiftar’s pieces, you'd have to admit these guys actually know how to write about music they actually UNDERSTAND. I wouldn't say the same for the others. See you at the coffee shop.
Honestly, I'm not going to bother quoting either of them. I'd much rather revisit the lyrics from Ante Čikara and Jureković Šiftar from nearly two decades ago than deal with the pretentious nonsense coming from today's kids.
Look, you don't have to forgive him. There’s no question that some of the things he wrote when he was younger are still on the record, and they happen to be true. But the way he frames everything reminds me of those cheap political pamphlets. To me, it's just idiotic... especially looking back from 2005.
If Jurekovic is supposed to be the gold standard for journalism, I’d honestly rather subject myself to psychological torture by reading anything written by Angel Jurkas.
If you actually care to know, you'll find out without needing some local magazine to spoon-feed you. If you don't care, no amount of coverage or divine intervention is going to change your mind.
What do we think about Franz Ferdinand? in Music ·
I did the same thing once—just eating, drinking, and more drinking. It was a great time.

Honestly, he would have been better off dead than recording an album about Chinese democracy today.

boldscout72 said:Moonlee Records is a great concept, but let’s be real: people start labels because they want to get their own music out there. Even if they had ambitions to sign other bands, they probably poured every cent of their life savings into their own releases.

So, Moonlee is going to release an album for an American band like Entreat... and sure, they could release stuff for American bands too, but the problem is those bands are broke. They play maybe six shows a year, usually in the same few cities around the US... assuming they don't break up before the record even hits the shelves...

"My majesty" is a solid track.

True, but their concert was kind of a letdown... plus they lost a bet against their aunt involving how long you can hold your breath while drinking a beer... I don't know the exact time, but she absolutely crushed them...
shan-na-na... or whatever they were called...
Rachel Jones11 said:that other guitarist from The Rock is hands down the biggest hillbilly I've ever encountered in America... I still can't wrap my head around how someone like that actually exists...🙄

He's actually a bigger redneck than their lead singer... what were they called... 4 Month 2002... Ron Jeremy type vibe... they were jumping on top of a van outside the hotel just to prove to the guys in Rollerball (the other band that night) that they were crazier than them...

Robin Booth said:man, does anything actually excite you anymore if it isn't just three AC/DC chords???😁

I like being boring:

Do you ever listen to any sort of classic rock bands?

That was sort of what I was listening to before I got into punk rock. I was listening to stuff like a lot of AC/DC and Led Zeppelin. I love AC/DC quite a bit, but that’s all, the bass player plays exactly what the guitar plays in a lot of that.

well, that's exactly what David Bowie said to that band you're so obsessed with...

Alright, fine...

I wasn't being serious about quitting... I was thinking more along the lines of an extended weekend...

I guess I'd go...

You know that Cici, Jura, and I are heading to Africa...

that's basically the same category...😁

Robin Booth, you bearded little Earwig wannabe (is that how the joke goes?), take a breath... I'm throwing down the gauntlet and challenging you to a duel, Batman, let's see who's actually tougher. I'm picking AC/DC and Guitar Wolf, you pick your favorites. If we can fight it out on a talk show, we can do it here. Pick the venue, the judge, and the crowd. It's better than just getting pissed off over musical differences. Just so you know, US Maple and Shellac weren't messing around when they covered AC/DC. Enough of that. Boring.

the ex... turn...

I think this might become my favorite The Ex album, right alongside "Starters Alternators" and "Scrabbling at the Lock"... The band itself seemed to realize after "Dizzy Spells" that they needed a change... "DS" was okay, but they got a bit repetitive (even if half the album is top-tier)... Luc left, and it turned out to be the best possible move. As for the bassist, since that guy isn't around anymore... "A Scrabbling at the Lock" with her was a masterpiece...

Hey, Tyler Grant86, remember when they played "Lump Sum Insomnia" live and had that totally chaotic section at the end? Well, the third track has a similar part... I'm really curious to see how that works live... I don't know if it has anything to do with them recording at Electrical Audio again, but the whole thing has this high-energy vibe, just like "Starters"... And I feel like "Fishtank" also influenced the new record quite a bit. That "Fishtank" track is great... The Ex completely outdid Tortoise on it...

Honestly, The Ex aren't even in the same league as the other bands... Alongside Fugazi, they're probably the best band in the world... In fact, I think the way both bands operate and think is pretty much identical...

And I don't think anyone here has mentioned Cage Red, where Andy, the guitarist for The Ex, used to play. To me, Cage Red in Wales back in 2001 were better than Shellac, Melt Banana, or even The Ex (even if that sounds like blasphemy and sacrilege). So there... let's give them a mention...

Anyway, Tyler Grant86, let's go to Amsterdam. If I could get away from work, I'd probably quit on the spot... The Ex, Ian MacKaye, hookers, and disgusting Dutch food... what do you say?

Dana Anderson4 said:There is no way he’s refunding people for Metallica. If he did, he’d have to file for bankruptcy immediately. He basically has to wait until his next big project actually pulls in some cash 😂 😂 😂 before he can settle those debts... so yeah, just go ahead and buy tickets now if you want.

By the logic of this alert thread, someone should probably ask Megan Reed to stop talking about things she clearly doesn't understand at a fundamental level...
