Maybe try reaching out to someone in your class who’s actually signing up for the same—or at least a similar—program...

I'm not helping here.😵
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
Absolutely nobody?
I’m currently sitting here in total isolation myself.
I was actually notified by someone who tested positive—someone who was told to reach out to their contacts and provide their phone numbers and info (which, let's be honest, is just doing what they're supposed to do).

The fact that people find it difficult, or simply don't want to, or try to act like they're above it—notifying those around them—is precisely what I meant earlier: it comes down to personal responsibility.

If the person testing positive doesn't notify their own contacts, how on earth is anyone else supposed to know?
Quarantine Life in Coronavirus ·
Of course—at the end of the day, it all comes down to personal responsibility.

A friend of mine caught COVID about a month ago—his whole household did too, actually. I was hanging out with him right on the day he got his positive result, but nobody ever asked me about who else he’d been around. The only people who stayed home were his family since they live under the same roof, so that goes without saying, I guess.
Also, my brother's girlfriend lives with him and she caught it at school, but they just told her to isolate and didn't even bother asking who she lives with.

Wait, what do you mean they aren't looking?
If someone tests positive, the protocol is clear: per the CDC guidelines, they are supposed to list everyone they've been in contact with starting from when symptoms appeared and going back two days. Then, the officials tell them to provide the phone numbers and Social Security numbers of those contacts—and then actually *task* the patient with notifying those people about their isolation period (which, frankly, feels like we're putting all the work on the patient, but hey... here we are...).
Joseph Taylor11 said:Here is the conflicting info I've been seeing lately:
1. There's a $30,000 fine.$0.00
2. The fine ranges from $3,000 up to $30,000.$0.00
3. And now this: there is no fine at all, they "just send you back."

So, a couple of questions:
1. Has anyone here actually been caught without their papers? If so, what happened?
2. Does anyone have the actual facts or know exactly what the penalties are—or better yet, where they're officially posted?

A Colleague.
They just sent her right back. No penalties were handed out.

John Martinez56 said:Shipping to America is officially listed at 8 pounds, but...😁 there’s this little trick where you can basically cut it in half to about 4 pounds—you just have to play it smart. Once everything is processed, you go straight to PayPal and select delivery to your PayPal account instead of using the email address you used to log in.😁 I do this every single time and the items arrive without any issues whatsoever.😁

That’s pretty much the gist of it, provided you take precautions—just make sure you double-check your measurements first. If they look right, they look right. Don't go grabbing higher numbers unless a user specifically mentions that it's actually working with smaller ones.

I tried to pick something up for my mom, went onto PayPal, but it's still showing $8 for shipping... does your little workaround actually still work?
Thanks!

This was practically made for trash

Not to be totally out of line here, but
Anyway, I actually love reading everyone’s different takes on the characters—honestly, every single perspective is interesting to me, except for the one from Michael Ramos4 😁 You should probably just write your own screenplay at this point; you could actually make some money off it.
Look, there’s nothing wrong with having an opinion, but the issue arises when people try to back up those opinions with their own imaginary plotlines—which, let's face it, don't even exist.
Whenever I see those belly shots on an avatar, I just keep scrolling until I'm finally at peace ☕

I can't quite remember if I mentioned this site before—honestly, my memory is a bit shot lately.
But they carry much larger sizes here. For me, it’s the absolute go-to—it’s the only place I trust for bras, period.

p.s.
Don't sleep on the reviews; they are a total lifesaver when you're trying to decide what actually fits.
Does anyone have any insight here...
I've been on a specific course of therapy for just under a year now.
The medication is on the B list, so there's a copay of $25.
I went in today and the amount was $85.60. $3.25 It's listed as a "participation fee."
What kind of "participation" is this exactly? 😕
Is this amount charged for every single prescription refill, or what? And since when did this become a thing?
Thanks.
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
... maybe a pharmacy in Canada that offers mail-order medication, or perhaps somewhere right near the border.
Also, if anyone happens to know—or better yet, has a link—where I can find an online price list for their prescriptions, I’d really appreciate it.
Thanks!

p.s.
My apologies if this belongs in a different thread.

Sarah James4 said:So basically, if I pull you aside, hand you cash, and tell you straight up it's a loan, and then you never even mention it or ask about it...

If she was "lending" it to protect him from bullies, then she shouldn't be asking for it back. It was a kind gesture. The kid never asked for a gift or a loan in the first place.

If she's sending "life lessons" to the mom, I'd be the first one to fire her. It's just not decent or moral to settle disputes with a parent by using a child as a messenger. It's totally unprofessional.

Sorry... but she basically overstepped by making decisions that aren't hers to make.

Either she should have just given it as a gift and kept quiet, or she shouldn't have given it at all. What she did was a complete mess.

We’re clearly talking past each other 😁.....

What I’m trying to get at—and yes, the kid was practically begging on his knees for a loan—is that a sane, rational adult wouldn't involve a child as a messenger to relay money-return requests to their mother, let alone make it a recurring thing tomorrow. Based on what was said, any reasonable teacher would be arguing the same point, so....
You mentioned the boy didn't pull on her sleeve—well, he shouldn't have had to!
I mean, who would just stand by a kid who's been isolated and not step in to help? Certainly not me.

So basically, I pull you aside, hand you cash, and explicitly tell you "I'm lending this to you," yet you don't even bother to follow up or ask...

.

Look, neither you nor I are ten years old, and we certainly don't have any burning desire to blend in with the 99% of our peers.
You can offer, and I can decline.
End of story.

Sarah James4 said:Are you kidding me? You're basically blaming a child for accepting cash from a teacher who handed it to him as a gift.

You're expecting a ten-year-old to show more responsibility than an adult, let alone his own teacher.

Setting aside motives and good intentions or whatever stigma people want to attach to this...

The teacher gave the little guy money he didn't even ask for. She offered it as a gift. When someone gives you something unprompted, that's a gift.

And now she wants that gift back.

That's the part that really sticks out to me.

No, hold on—where exactly did I say that?
I was responding specifically to your point about the kid pulling on his teacher’s sleeve to get cash. She didn't just hand him money (which is what the headline implies, by the way). She explicitly stated she was *lending* it to him and expected it back tomorrow. Now, why would she do that?
Why would a woman—someone who is fully aware of this family's situation, someone who actually contacted social services to get them help, and someone who clearly isn't some heartless jerk—insist on being paid back?
That is my point.
As far as I can see, the kid just got caught up in a "situation" between a parent and a teacher through no fault of his own, and things spiraled out of control because of nothing more than a massive game of telephone.
Elementary school teachers in Students & Teens ·
Sarah James4 said:Money is lent when someone asks for it. I didn't see anything saying the kid grabbed her sleeve and begged for $10.

One could also argue—and I say this with all due conviction—that the kid really shouldn't have touched that money in the first place. 🤷

Anthony Gray said:If you ask me, you should have just gone to the school yourself to talk to the teacher—ask her nicely, or maybe give her a little heads-up, to actually notify parents about planned activities ahead of time next time. As it stands, you haven't really achieved anything here; you've just let the whole situation spiral in the wrong direction.

winnerica thinks that if the kid truly understood the concept of "no" and "not happening," he wouldn't have taken the cash in the first place—because he'd know Mom isn't going to cough up even that measly twenty bucks.

I couldn't agree more—I am signing my name to this wholeheartedly.

I’ve been reading through this—very carefully—once again.
The teacher was fully aware of what they were going through—she was incredibly kind and compassionate about the whole situation—and she made sure to welcome them into the classroom with open arms.
There are five other kids in the class who take turns getting those free field trips—you know, how it goes, someone else gets picked every single time.
Look, let's be real here—that teacher is fully aware of what those families are going through. She knows firsthand that money is a massive issue for them.
So, what exactly is the issue then—why on earth does he insist on... $7.00 ?
Elementary school teachers in Students & Teens ·
I honestly can’t shake the image of a kid getting a bad grade and then immediately handing that failing paper right back to the teacher...

Sure, having extra cash wasn't strictly necessary—so what? It seems to me that the kids themselves were the ones driving the whole push for the field trip, though I'm certainly not suggesting we should just cater to their every whim.
This entire debate wouldn't even be happening if it weren't for the current budget crunch.
I completely get where you're coming from.

I'm looking over your last post now.
Look, forgive me if I sound blunt, but you shouldn't let a minor hiccup turn into an "it's all about being a good mom" situation—because, let's be honest, that's exactly what it is.
You could have easily tracked her down in the teachers' lounge this morning or just given her a quick call.

Maybe the actual point of her move was just to put a little something in the kid's pocket $6.75 when they head out somewhere 🤷 whether it was a planned outing or just a spontaneous thing (especially since you mentioned you've always had nothing but great experiences with her).
Please, don't take this as a personal attack, but in a way, I find myself agreeing with mirotta.
The teacher didn't just hand the kid money; she essentially gave him a small loan.

Reddit Trading: Part 2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Maybe it’s just me... but I found it a bit surreal to be scrolling through a PDF dedicated entirely to child development, only to stumble upon a thread about buying and selling kids' clothes right there in the 🤷
.
The MOD gathered everything into one single thread, adding a little disclaimer that we’re officially in the Off-Topic section now and that we should probably go ahead and read the rules first.☕.

I wouldn't (maybe) be making such a fuss if it weren't for this other thread—you know the one—that hasn't moved an inch, even though it clearly doesn't belong there either... right?
But fine, whatever. If it doesn't belong there, it belongs somewhere else, and that's that.😁
Reddit Trading: Part 2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
What can I even say about this...
Reddit Trading: Part 2 in Feedback & Suggestions ·
I felt the need to start a fresh thread here—it seems we’re talking past one another...

1. If everyone else on this site can buy and sell on Marketplace, I don't see why the users over on Reddit shouldn't be allowed to do the same.

Honestly, after witnessing the sheer amount of special treatment you all seem to be angling for, I have to ask:

What makes the Reddit crowd so incredibly unique that you require privileges no other users enjoy?
Why should your chatter be tolerated?
Why shouldn't your casual chat threads be moved to OFF, just like the mountain of other chat topics from across the entire site?
And why is it that the women from Reddit think they're somehow above posting their celebratory threads in the Greetings section, where every other user posts them?
Why are your classified ads supposedly more "special" than everyone else's, necessitating that they stay on Reddit?

1. Not the whole site uses Marketplace,
2. I'm not asking for anything special compared to the rest of the community; I am specifically interested in this one, single topic.
3. I couldn't care less about the OFF topics.
4. And frankly, I don't care about the greeting threads either.
5. Our ads aren't any more distinct than, say, the ads over at Cosmetics, which remain exactly where they've always been.

I truly don't see the issue here.
After such an extensive cleanup of the main boards, could you perhaps "step in" and provide a service for the entire site?
Especially considering those threads were clean and weren't causing any kind of clutter or congestion...

Chicken and fish seem perfectly fine.
cosma—honestly, the advice is solid. I actually have my annual physical scheduled in two weeks, so I’ll be sure to bring this up with the doctor then. I did mention it to my endocrinologist already; she ended up adjusting my medication because I was worried it might be a side effect from the pills, but even after that, the issue persisted...
I started wondering if it's just a cumulative effect from all my medications—you know, the ones for my thyroid, blood sugar, and allergies—maybe they're just irritating my stomach lining? Plus, my job is incredibly "relaxing"—and by relaxing, I mean high-stress—so it's probably a perfect storm of everything hitting me at once...
I guess I'm just getting old 😬
