So, I was hanging out at the IEEE venue last night... mostly just to show some love to the guys by grabbing a ticket and picking up their vinyl 🎉. I have to say, I felt like the energy was lacking a little bit during the set—there were definitely some bright spots, though... but overall, I walked away feeling pretty good about it. 👍

I try to open a PDF through Tapatalk and then I end up spending half an hour just hunting for a dead thread... it's quite exhausting... 🙄I’d suggest maybe implementing a setting where a new user's first three posts have to be vetted by a moderator first, though I suppose it doesn't matter much what I suggest since everyone usually ignores my input anyway...

The odds that there's some secret trick you haven't stumbled upon—meaning it isn't actually an issue with the forum itself—are so incredibly tiny they're basically nonexistent... honestly. Plus, even though the site has been mobile-friendly since day one, we've seen these weird, unexpected glitches popping up lately on the mobile version, which a few other folks here have already mentioned... It’s more than just looking for an alternative to Reddit. 😉
Honestly, why haven't you guys tried installing Tapatalk yet? It’s just so much cleaner... faster too, and it really doesn't eat up nearly as much of your data plan as the browser does.
Even though the rules technically say you can't change your handle more than once, it’s pretty smart that they added that little disclaimer... you know, letting the admins decide whether to approve or deny a request regardless of the rule if they feel there's a good reason behind it. If someone gets turned down while others get a pass, well, that's just how it goes. No big deal at all... 👍
There’s actually this feature where images show up at a reasonable size in posts, but then you can just click them to see the full, high-res version... though, obviously, we aren't going to see that happening on this particular forum here.
You don't actually have to shut down your private messages entirely... there's a better way. You can just add specific people—you know, the ones you actually want hearing from you—to your contact list. Then, if you head into your settings, you can set a restriction so that only those contacts are allowed to slide into your inbox...
I'm honestly not sure if they've done this before... If my memory serves me right, I think I read somewhere that Reddit—or maybe the server itself—just swallowed up a few profiles on its own. But honestly, it doesn't really matter... even if they have been deleting stuff in the past, they clearly went ahead and changed the rules.
I can totally see why they wouldn't just wipe an entire profile on request... it makes sense from a technical standpoint. But you know, on some other Reddit communities, you can actually delete your account while still leaving your old posts intact within the threads. In those cases, the author isn't Pero Perić anymore, they just show up as something like Guest 23456. Personally, I think that kind of middle ground is a perfectly fine way to handle things if someone really wants to step away and erase their identity... 🤷
